Easter Blessings

I hope each of you are having a blessed Easter. This is a special time of the year for me as we are enjoying the spring weather. It is like watching the world wake up after a long sleep. We celebrated our Easter last Sunday as our  two grandsons have been with us this last week, it has been wonderful enjoying the week with them. Today they are going home and have a long drive ahead of them.
On to my card...This is a lovely image from Krista Smith. I wanted my card to be in muted tones of cream and brown. My only pop of color is the red rose. The lace on the side of the card is paper and I found it at a discount store years ago. I am getting down to the last of it and I hate to see it all used up. I added a sheer brown ribbon on the side and a burlap ribbon and bow. My flowers are from a Cherry Lynn die. Happy Easter!

My Song: He Lives
I Serve A Risen Savior
He's in the World Today
I Know That He lives
No matter what men may say
I see his hand of mercy
I hear his voice of cheer
You ask me how I know He lives.
He lives within my heart

A Thank You Card!

I needed a card to thank a friend for her help with our churches Easter Program.
Another friend of mine gave me a card kit from SU. I wanted to add some of my own touches. I thought this lovely fairy would be prefect and then a few pearls, glittery ribbon and suddenly I have a very different card. I have been enjoying a week with my grandsons so this is a quick post.
My Song: My Heart Will Go On
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you, go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you, go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Thanks!

A Closer Look!

This is a card that I made several months back and forgot to post. As of late I have felt a bit like the chipmunk running on the wheel. I am running as fast as I can but I am getting nowhere fast. LOL! It must be spring fever. On to my card.....this cute image is from Krista Smith. I thought she was so cute and I loved that I can use here with some of Krista's other images. I colored her with Copics, added liquid glass to her glasses and framed her with a Spellbinders die. The flowers are a Cherry Lynn die cut. A fun little card that is going to a special friend that has helped me with our children's Easter Program.
I am entering this card at t/he following challenges:
My Song:  Alan Jackson
When your heart is all alone every second
Seems so long
When it's just you, you can't see through
Those ol' clouds that rain so blue
But when somebody loves you
There's nothing you can't do
When somebody loves you
It's easy to get through
When somebody loves you
The way I love you

Good morning all my friends in blog land. It is time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter. I know you will all love this one it is "Any Thing Goes"! Those are always the best as you can let your creative juices flow while using one of the lovely Paper Shelter image. I decided to do a bit of 'fussy cutting"....and it turned into a LOT of fussy cutting. Normally I don't leave a white edge, but I felt it helped pop the flowers. This sweet , lovable image is called "The Most Adorable Cavalier". She is so cute you just want to hug her. I also used the "Vintage Floral Frame". It is so lovely and really adds to an image when you frame it. My paper is from an old, old, DCWV paper pack . I colored my image with Copics and Twin Markers. After printing two Vintage Floral Frames, and coloring both I cut the flowers of one out and popped it on top of it's twin. It made the framed picture pop even more. My sentiment is an old yard sale stamp. It looks a bit rough, but it is one of my favorite. I framed it with a Spellbinders die. A sheer pink ribbon finishes off my fun card. I hope you will play along with us this time, you could win a lovely generous prize from The Paper Shelter. Take time to hop to each of the DT's entries they are beautiful and show the diversity of the images at The Paper Shelter. http://www.thepapershelter.com

My Song: (One my DH's uncle Bud always sang)
When I was a lad
And old Shep was a pup
Over hills and meadows we'd stray
Just a boy and his dog
We were both full of fun
We grew up together that way

A Fall Acorn Card

This the last of the lost cards. I loved this Tilda  and thought she had to be done with fall colors. The acorns are die cut with a CC cutter. The paper is a single sheet I bought three years ago and I have been hoarding it, waiting for just the right card to come along. What do you think was this one it? I hope you have enjoyed looking at my 'forgotten' stack. I have said before ..... I am ahead of the game. LOL! Enjoy the blessings you have today.
My Song: Shout To The Lord
Shout to the Lord, all the earth,
Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
My Jesus, My Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days
I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love.

Windy Days! -- A shout out to my sweet friend Wendy!

A Closer Look!

This is another fun image from http://www.etsy.com/shop/TimeforTeaDesigns
There are some new images and they are so cute, I can't wait to color them. This little cutie looks as if the wind is blowing through her hair. Since we have had plenty of wind lately  windy days seemed the perfect title for this post. It is typical spring weather and I think this little gal is dressed for the occasion! I wanted this image to pop on this card so I used dp with muted colors. I also added some of the new yummy burlap ribbon from SU. I am loving that ribbon. Just a fun quick card.  I hope you will check out Time for Tea Designs and grab an image...they are adorable.  Also, thinking of my friend Wendy today. Her granddaughters are getting baptized tomorrow. She is visiting them and will get to witness this wonderful event.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
Who's peekin' out from under a stairway
Calling a name that's lighter than air
Who's bending down to give me a rainbow
Everyone knows it's Windy
Who's tripping down the streets of the city
Smilin' at everybody she sees
Who's reachin' out to capture a moment
Everyone knows it's Windy

Some Bunny Loves You

\
I hope your week has been a great one! I have been enjoying my son, DIL, and two wonderful grandsons. I love spending time with them. Being a grandmother has blessed me in ways I could have never imagine. This is a fun little image from Krista Smith, I wanted to use it for this weeks challenge at Saturated Canary Challenge Blog. This image makes me think of "Alice In Wonderland". She was a fun color and the bunny is ever so cute. I used the Heartfelt 'poesy' stamps. I colored them and then cut them out and added a black brad to the stacked flowers.I added some Stickles around the image for interest.
I HOPE....PLEASE! That each of my followers will start following me  on Bloglovin just click on  the button. I hate the changes that Google is making but guess I have to learn to go with the flow. (BTY I clicked on Krista's link to download the Bloglovin button. It will give you step by step instructions. Have  a day filled with blessings.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You by Dean Martin
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you
You're nobody 'til somebody cares.
You may be king, you may possess the world and it's gold,
But gold won't bring you happiness when you're growing old.
The world still is the same, you never change it,
As sure as the stars shine above;
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you,
So find yourself somebody to love.
The world still is the same, you never change it,
As sure as the stars shine above;
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you,
So find yourself somebody, find yourself somebody,
Find yourself somebody to love.

You Never Let Go

This image is so special to me. I entered a contest that Krista Smith had where you suggested an idea for an image and if she picked your idea  you got the image free. I won with this idea. As a kid my mom took my brothers and myself to the orchards in our valley and I learned to pick fruit to make money for my school clothes and supplies. It was hard work but if is also one of my fondest memories. Now, most of the orchards have been removed to make room for housing developments. What orchards remain the fruit is picked by contracted crews. I miss the 'good ole days'. Today was my mom's birthday. She has been gone eleven years and I still miss her and wish we could have had more time together.I think of her each time I color this image.  Anyway....on to my card. I used both twin markers and Copics to color my image. I added liquid glass to her eyes and to the apples. The paper is  a hodge podge from the scrap box. A fun card that will go to a friend for their birthday. I hope your week is starting off with happy thoughts. Blessings!
My Song:  You Never Let Go!
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

Sunny Days

A closer look

the lovely image

Inside the card

We are having dreary, wet, windy weather. Lots of thunder and black clouds. I decided I just had to make a   sunny card. I saw this cute image on a beautiful card that Julie Price had made. Seeing her beautiful card I had to make one of my own. Thanks Julie you inspired me! The image is by Elizabeth Bell. I cut it out with a circle die. I punched the lace boarder with a MS punch. I then clipped between  the lace edge so I could wrap it around the circle. I used various dies for the lace on the cards. I also added some paper daisies. My sentiment is from SU. I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Sunny
Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain.
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain.
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

I Hope You Dance

When my daughter was little she took ballet, tap and jazz dance lessons. She was so cute up on stage dancing and doing her little programs. I think that is why this is one of my favorite Tilda images. I added lots of liquid pearls, and stickles. The paper lace is a Magnolia die and is one of my favorites. I spent forever picking my paper and then covered most of it up....does that make any since at all? This is one more of the lost cards. but I know it will be  a card that finds a home with my daughter....just to brighten her day.
I want to point out her hair....I am so jazzed as I think I am beginning to get the hang of it....lol....for those of you who find it easy to color hair....argh....I don't!  Have a great week and enjoy the challenges that come your way!
My Song: I Hope You Dance
I  hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

A Baby Shower Gift!

The Card

the jute ribbon

A close up of my cute image

 a name frame
a closer look at the detetails

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a glorious day. I had such a busy Saturday, that I am looking forward to a nap and a quiet afternoon once church gets out. Our church participated in I Heart Treasure Valley. We went out in our community and joined with other churches doing work projects  in our community. After that I had to rush (really rush) to get to a baby shower and then I left the baby shower and went directly to hear Nick Vujicic speak. If you have never heard him, I urge you to google him and watch his videos on you tube. He is amazing. Needless to say, I am exhausted this morning.
On to my projects! This is the card I made for the baby shower. The stamp was a gift from a sweet friend from across the pond, Shirley. It is my go to stamp for baby. The new mom to be chose blue and green for the baby's room. So I tried to stick with the colors for my name frame and the card. (Although I went more pastel when making the card.) The DP is from an older pad that has long since lost it's cover, so I have no idea who made it, but it has some yummy paper in it. I used one of my new Spellbinders dies to frame the image. The pretty jute ribbon is from SU and I am getting more of this as I am totally in love with it.
The name frame paper is from SU and some I bought at Craft Warehouse. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and then added bits and bobbles from my stash. The new mom to be seemed to be pleased with it. I hope you have enjoyed seeing this fun project..

Just As You Like it!

Those lovely Flowers

A closer look at this darling image

Good morning and happy Friday. Are you ready for another fun challenge at ABC's Challenge. Our letter this week is "J" and our challenge is "Just As You Like It."  We are so fortunate this week to be sponsored by two lovely sponsors Stamp And Create is offering a $25 gift certificate and The Paper Shelter is offering a $20 gift certificate....can you say shopping? I  have colored my lovely image with Copics and Twin Markers. I had so lovely Calla Lillies and while the summer cutie is holding gladiolas, I think this works. I used DP from a a DCWV pad. I love the yummy colors. I hope you will enter a card in this fun and easy challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Take time to check our our sponsors you will be amazed at the wonderful selections you can choose from. Happy St. Paddies day to all my Irish friends.
My Song: God Gave Me You (Blake Shelton)
I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be
But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm blows through
And I need you
Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

"I Didn't Do It"

I think if you have ever raised children at least one of them has experimented with scissors and their hair. My daughter cut her bangs  and my son cut a little girls hair in the Sunday School preschool class. He was three. LOL....both of them had this same look on their face. This image is a "Mo Manning" image called 'I didn't do it'.  I had some of those 'nifty' sheer roses.....not sure I am so wild about them after using them. They always look so nice on other people's cards and they look not so nice on mine. I did add some pearls and chipboard for interest. I don't think this is one of my favorite cards but I am sharing it anyway. Hope your day is filled with blessings.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Lord, I need you (she does have that look)
Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart
Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Easter Is On It's Way!

A closer look!

 A look on the inside!
Can you believe it is almost Easter. I have been busy working with the kids at church on a musical Easter Program. This time it is the younger kids who are participating. They are so cute and so serious when a mike is in front of them. How about you? Are you making Easter plans?
It is also time for another great challenge at The Paper Shelter. I thought this cute image called "I Am The Easter Bunny" made a perfect card to give to one of the kids in my program. Isn't she fun?  Our challenge this time is "Easter". Fun and easy for all of you. The Paper Shelter  has some fabulous Easter images for you to play with. "Hop" on over and grab some Easter goodies for our challenge ! Remember you can win $$$ shop with. PLEASE read the rules as we have had to eliminate some truly lovely cards because they didn't follow the rules....it is a shame, but everyone must play fair! Have a great day that is filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: I'll Rise Again
Go ahead drive the nails in My hands,
Laugh at Me where you stand.
Go ahead, and say it isn't Me,
The day will come when you will see,
'Cause I'll rise again.
There's no pow'r on earth
Can tie Me down.
Yes, I'll rise again,
Death can't keep Me in the ground.
Go ahead mock My name,
My love for you is still the same.
Go ahead and bury Me,
But very soon I will be free.
'Cause I'll rise again.
There's no pow'r on earth
Can tie Me down.
Yes, I'll rise again,
Death can't keep Me in the ground.

A Christmas Fairy

This is a lovely 'Wee" image. She is one of my favorites to color and use at Christmas. I just had a wonderful thought....I am officially ahead on my Christmas cards for next year! HA!  The paper lace is a die my DH bought me. I just love it and I added red 'berries' with Stickles. I used Copics and Twin markers to color my image and lots of Stickles, Spica pens, and glitter on this card. A cute little ribbon and a scallop die cut finished off my card.  i hope you enjoy a peek at Christmas to come....ha....I am so relieved that I am not forgetful.....just well prepared for next Christmas.
My Song: (Chris Tomlin)
There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

When I'm On My Knees!

Another favorite image from Saturated Canary. I love the soft pink and brown together and thought it worked perfectly on this card. I followed Amanda's sweet tip on paper design and loved the look. I combined some flowers to make a different look and a soft pink, sheer ribbon. I have to admit that I really like this card and will save it for someone special to me.

My Song: On My Knees
There are days
when I feel
The best of me
is ready to begin
Then there's days
when I feel
I'm letting go
and soaring on the wind
'Cause I've learned in laughter or in pain
How to survive!
I get on my knees!
There I am before the Love
That changes me
See I don't know how
But there's power
When I'm on my knees

Have you heard there is a new challenge blog? It is the Sister Act and their challenge is always
"Anything Goes"
Love that don't you? They are having a DT call so hop on over and check them out!
BTW if you enter your supposed to pick three of your favorite cards and then link to the blog...not so very complicated.
