Summertime Celebration.

A Closer Look!

I have finally recovered enough from Whooping Cough to feel like coloring. I have had this six weeks and I felt miserable! It is good to be feeling like I am finally getting over this. FYI if you had your immunizations back in the 50's then you need another booster shot. It is well worth it to not have something like this!  On to my card. I wanted to enter the Saturated Canary challenge and this is my card for celebrating summer. I am sending it off to my daughter. She loves summer and I thought this would brighten her day. My papers are some lovely Pion papers. I do think they have lovely papers. I hope you have each had a restful week-end filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (It's and Oldie)
Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high
Oh, Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

God Bless You

Good morning! Are you ready for fun new challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER?  Both A and B team are joining together for this Anything Goes challenge! I chose one of my favorite new original images. "Keeper Of My Enchanted Forest". I think she is just lovely and has the sweet signature  face that The Paper Shelter is famous for. She is colored with Copics and a little Spica pen added for sparkle. My sweet friend Amanda at Cards, Cats and Copics sent me this lovely Memory Box die for my birthday. I can tell it will be a favorite that I will use over and over. I added some tiny pine cones that my husband I picked up on the Oregon coast.. I just clipped the back of each cone to make it lay flat and glued it to my card. The sentiment is from SU. I hope you enjoy this fun card and will join our Anything Goes party.
I am entering this card at the following challenge:
My Song: (Rue's Song from The Hunger Games)
Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise.
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

My beautiful Faith, Hope and Love  stamp can be found at the Bugaboo Shop and they are having a fabulous "Christmas In July" sale. It is a win, win for everyone! But not as sweet as you."

A new image!

 A closer look
 A look at the bow
A look at my bingo tags
Happy Monday again....two in one day woot, whoot, whoot! This is a new image I got from Scarrper's Delight on line store. I thought she had a sweet little face and  was fun to color. this stamp is called "Amelia School Girl Beauty. I did buy another stamp "Honey" but for some reason when I print it is faded and prints in red! Does anyone know what would cause this? I don't like that this site does not have a way of contacting them and I will not buy anything form this store in the future because of this. I am happy with the way this stamp printed. I am off to the Dr. and hopefully I will soon be rid of this nasty bug. Blesssings!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your week is starting off in a wonderful way. Things are not so fun at the Chapman household. Both my husband and I have a nasty bug. I have had it for four weeks and my DH for one. "I" am off to the Dr. this morning to see if I can't get something to help me get over it. DH is toughing it out (that worked out well for me) teehee! I had to share this card with you and show you my latest "Little Miss Muffet" stamp. This little cutie is called "Polk a Dot Pal's Tillie". She is a fun color and I was happy with the way she turned out. (Even if I was running a fever as I colored her!) LOL! The lace on the bottom of my card is a new Die cut from Whimsy Stamps, paper lace is one of my favorite things to use. The cute little foam butterflies came my way as a prize. I added some Stickles on the glasses and liquid glass.  A little bingo card sentiment finished off my card. I hope your Monday goes well and it is filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Chris Tomlin
Water You turned into wine
Open the eyes of the blind
There's no one like You
None like You
Into the darkness You shining
Out of the ashes we rise
There's no one like You
None like You
Our God is greater, our God is stronger
God You are higher than any other
Our God is Healer, awesome and power
Our God, Our God...

A Little Treat

I had such a fun time coloring this image. This is another image from The Paper Shelter. We have a yellow lab who loves her treats. She expects one every time she is left at home. Once we return she goes straight to the cabinet they are kept in and looks at it. (Yes! She is spoiled!). I hope you enjoy this fun little card. Hop on over to The Paper Shelter  and check out their fabulous images...there is something for everyone! I used a cute little charm, hemp, and liquid glass (a favorite of mine), made my own flower and added a pearl brad.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Homeward Bound (reminds me of our dog waiting for us!)
I'm sittin' in the railway station

Mojo Monday at Last! Mojo300

I can't believe the year is half over and this is the first time I have got to play at Mojo Monday. I am going to try and make more of their challenges as I always have fun with sketches. This one made me think outside my box. My picture doesn't show the colors as clearly as I would like. The paper I used to boarder the pink with is a dark grey.  I can't imagine why it looks so yucky in this picture. this is a new Magnolia stamp I just got. She is adorable and fun to color. I hope your 4th of July is being spent with those you love.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Soldier
I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all business in my suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.

It Is Red, White & Blue!

Just a quick post to wish everyone a "Happy 4th of July". I am not really happy with this card. for one thing it is too CAS for me. LOL. I used a Spellbinders label and used it as a ribbon holder and then added flowers from WOC.  My paper is really old (one I have hoarded for a bit). The ribbon came from a discount store. I added rhinestones for a little bling. My lovely image is a "Magnolia Stamp".
I would like to thank all who have served to keep my country free. Your sacrifice means so much!

I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Some Gave All
knew a man called him Sam the Cane few folks even knew his name
But a hero yes was he
He left a boy came back a man still many just don't understand
About the reasons we are free
I can't forget the look in his eyes or the tears he cried
As he said these words to me
All gave some some gave all
Some stood through for the red white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me think of all your liberties
And recall some gave all

What is a craftier to do? (Proverbs 3:7)

I hope you enjoy my card today. I had a fun time making it. Sadly, (although it is just a card)  I made if for a DT challenge and just found out it will not be posted on the DT blog. Which brings me to the crux of the problem. I did not realize until today (July 1) that there was a problem with this image.  I am only posting this card to let artists know my frustration. I am sure I am not alone in my lack of understanding what image is OK and what is not and by what authority it is being deemed so. I will say in defense of The Paper Shelter they instantly took the image down when they were made aware of the controversy. I know they have always been honorable with me and I truly believe in this situation they were also. I do not want to be drawn into a firestorm but I do want artists to know that many of us are just enjoying making cards and do not desire to jump in with fists flying. I would not deliberately post a card to offend anyone but I am posting this card to say it was made innocently and without malice to any artist. I can only imagine  the frustration of one artist with another over copyright infringement. I would hope that everyone would be like Pedro and Veronica at The Paper Shelter and take the higher ground. They have turned the other cheek and so shall I. This is the last time I will post a card with this image. I hope all the artists involved in conflicts with each other will soon be able to resolve their issue with each other!
On a happier note The Paper Shelter is having a great challenge this week and it involves using some lovely colors on your creation. Please hop on over and check it out and don't miss the fabulous prize you can win. The Paper Shelter has always had images of the best quality and some of the best art work you can find. The images are sweet and never offensive. There is something for every one!
Have a safe and sane  4th of July. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of the firefighters and their families in Arizona.
BTW my name is Patty so I used purple!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Why Can't We Be Friends
Why can't we be friends? \
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
I seen you 'round for a long, long time, yeah
I remembered you when you drink my wine
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Why can't we be friends?
Don't forget to join The Paper Shelter's Challenge blog you could win a fabulous prize!

IN MEMORY OF THE BRAVE FIREFIGHTERS IN ARIZONA

A closer look

 Another Look

Like many around our nation my heart is heavy thinking about the brave ;young firefighters who lost their lives in Arizona. We have so many everyday people who are heroes. I am praying for the families of all of these young men. A son, husband, father, brother, grandson, will not be at home tonight because they lost their lives doing a very dangerous job. Thank you to all firefighters for putting your life on the line to protect  our country. God bless each and every one of you and your families.

My image is from The Paper Shelter. I think it is so cute and it is so much fun to color. Don't you find coloring really soothes your frazzled nerves? It does mine! The Paper Shelter Challenge this week is a picture inspired one. This card is not for the challenge. You will have to read the next posting to find out the  explanation. I actually sent this card to our local firefighters who put out the fire that gutted our church several months back. I was in awe of the danger they were in and yet they never hesitated to enter the church to try and save what they could. I used a new die from my sweet friend Wendy to frame this cute guy. Notice the cute little rhinestone drops? They were perfect for water drops. Just a few metal stars and my card was complete. Be sure and join in the fun this week at THE PAPER SHELTER and check out my team mates cards, they are beautiful!!!
My Song: (It's The Jake's That Make  The Job)
If these bricks and mortar were alive,
if these old walls had ears.
If these doors could talk and this Firehouse walk
It'd spread tales of courage throughout the years
Cause it's the jakes that make the job. It's the Jake behind the wheel.
It's the Jake that rides beside 'em whose nerves are edged with steel.
The sirens blare and we say a prayer 'til they're home safe one and all
It's the jakes that ride behind them when the truck rolls to a call.
Our doors have been up and down more times than Wall Street through the years.
The boiler boils, the brass pole shines, we hold our breath in fear.
And sigh a sigh of relief my friends 'til it's out the door they've
'Till we hear the truck's muffler sound and we count the Jakes on board again.

Quite A Few

A closer look!

Another look!

The new challenge at ABC is one of my favorites!!! It is all about layers! Our letter is "Q" and the challenge is Quite a few!  Our fabulous sponsors are  Stamp and Create and Bunny Zoe. I do hope you will check both of them out they have some lovely stamps and some great sales going on! I have chosen the "Silver Fairy" Stamp by Sylvia Zet. You can find Sylvia Zet's stamps at Bunny Zoe's store. I have layered up several paper from my bottomless scrap-box. I used a Spica pen to add some bling to the fairy wings. I used Stickles to dot around the fairly. Two die cuts for the paper lace, ribbon and some cute butterfly stickers finished off my card. Please join in the fun and you may win a fabulous prize. I cant wait to see what you come up with!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: (Somewhere Out There)
Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someones thinking of me
