Gift Bags for Christmas!

I have a wonderful group of friends, we call ourselves the "Stamping Grannies". All of us are grandmothers and love to stamp and scrapbook. We try to get together once a month and enjoy our friendship. I made these little gift bags for Christmas. I have a special little gift in each one and some candy. They are nothing fancy just a little gift to let each of my friends know that I love them. I hope your day was filled with blessings!
My Song: "The Angels Cried" (Alan Jackson/my favorite!)
They came from near, they came from far
Following a distant star to where He'd lay
Not being sure of what it meant
But knowing it was Heaven sent, they made their way
And creatures gathered round
And didn't make a sound and the angels cried
The Angels knew what was to come
The reason God had sent his Son from above
It filled their hearts with joy to see
And knowing of His destiny, came tears of love.

Mojo Monday

I finally got a bit of time to 'play'. I wanted to make a few cards for some special friends. I only managed to get this card done and one for a a DT challenge. Good grief!  I also worked on some gift packs that I will be giving to my local stamping group (No peeking Wendy!) So I guess I did pretty good with my play time! LOL! I wanted this card to have an old fashioned look to it. So, I tried to use more muted colors. I added a little lace, ribbon and a felt flower with a little heart button to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: The Chipmunk Song
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.

"All for the Love"

I love this cute little fairy from Saturated Canary! I knew she would make the perfect birthday card for my sister-in-law! I colored her with Copics added glitter to her wings! (Yeah....it's white glitter!) I embossed the card base and added layers of paper, a charm, and a ribbon finish off this card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Don Williams?)

AND IT’S ALL FOR THE LOVE OF A DEAR LITTLE  GIRL
ALL FOR THE LOVE THAT SETS YOUR HEART IN A WHIRL
I’M A  MAN WHO’D GIVE HIS LIFE, AND THE  JOYS OF THIS WORLD
ALL FOR THE  LOVE OF A GIRL!

Give Thanks!

I hope today you are spending your Thanksgiving day with those you love. We are like many across the country who cannot be with all of those we love. It makes me sad that we cannot be together, but I also had to reflect on all the blessings in my life and give thanks for those blessings. One of the greatest blessings is my husband we have been married for 40 years. I thought this Mo Manning image reflected us. I am so grateful for my husband and family. I have been blessed beyond measure. We are not rich with worldly goods but are with those things that really count. I hope your day is blessed like mine.
My Song: "Give Thanks"
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son.
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son.
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich"
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
Give Thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to each of you!

"Joy Is In The Air!"

I finally got to play! Wow, this was a long dry spell for me! LOL! I wanted to enter the Saturated Canary challenge and also wanted to send my grandsons each a card. We will not get to be with them over the holidays and I want them to know Grammy is thinking of them. I hope each of you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving that is filled with family and love. Blessings to each of you.
My Song: (Chorus)
Come a little bit closer
You're my kind of man
So big and so strong
Come a little bit closer
I'm all alone
And the night is so long

What has kept me so busy!

As many of you know I was really busy last week and could not make cards. This is pictures of the backdrops I painted for our community Christmas production. This Christmas program has been going on for about 15 years and each night they have a full house. I was asked to paint the backdrops. There are actually 12 canvasses in all. Six canvasses are of the night time dessert scene, three are supposed to be looking out an airport window and three are a kitchen window and walls. I didn't take a picture of the walls as they were just a flat color. While these do not look real labor intensive, I can tell you that they really are. This is one project for Christmas that I am happy to check off my to do list. LOL! I hope you enjoy seeing this little part of my world. Blessings to each of you!

My Song:
The minute you walked in the joint,
I could see you were a man of distinction,
A real big spender.
Good looking, so refined.
Say wouldn't you like to know
What's going on in my mind?
So, let me get right to the point,
I don't pop my cork for every guy I see.
Hey, big spender,
Spend...a little time with ...me!

Christmas Greetings

My last card for today and probably this week. I don't know why time is flying by so fast for me but it is. I made this card for Priscilla's Midnight Madness challenge. I followed the sketch and used my Memory Box die to cut the snowflake boarder. I also added a snowflake with a Cherrylynn die and a MS punch. I layered the snowflakes and added a twisted Christmas  pipe cleaner to the center.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Jack Frost"

I had to do one more of these cards so both of the grandson's would get one. They love getting mail and I wanted to send fall cards to them this month. This is pretty CAS for me and doesn't have anything spectaular about it except it was a free image and I used scraps to make it.
My Song: Who Am I?
When I think of how He came so far from glory
Came to dwell among the lowly such as I
To suffer shame and such disgrace
On Mount Calvary take my place
Then I ask myself this question
Who am I?
Who am I that The King would bleed and die for?
Who am I that He would pray not my will, Thine Lord?
The answer I may never know
Why He ever loved me so
That to an old rugged cross He'd go
For who am I?

Loving Thoughts

I took some time to play today and then found I just couldn't create anything I really liked. This was my first attempt. I used a new glitter and I am not happy with it. It is supposed to be white, but it has lots of pink and blue in it. I was so disappointed. I guess some days the creative juices are just not flowing and this was one of them for me. I hope this is one my daughter will grab from my stash to give to someone she knows! LOL!  I hope your day was blessed by a friend.

"Dazzle and Bling"

This is definitely a non traditional colored Christmas card! It is such a fun challenge at ABC's this week! "Dazzle and Bling"! Yep! Right up my alley.  Of course I had to use this fun SN image. I just love this fairy. I added glitter to her wings and some flower soft to her fur...makes her look warm and cozy! A little Spica pen to her skirt . I cut out my snowflake boarder with a Memory Box die....love that die. I added some rhinestones for more "dazzle" and a ticket sentiment to finish off my card. So grab your  "dazzle" items and join this fun challenge!
Our sponsor this week is the fabulous "Bugaboo", they are offering 7 digis to the lucky winner. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song by Alabama:
The Blessings
I stand here lookin' up at the stars tonight
How can one man have so much in life
As I look around me, what a picture it paints
I'm much more than lucky, I oughta give my thanks
There's food on the table, a log on the fire
And in my woman's eyes there's, love and desire
The blessings, sent from above, oh, the blessings
A life full of love when I look around I can see
All that's been given me, so I lift my eyes up
To the sky, I wanna give my
My thanks for the blessings!
I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with blessings!

"A Shout Out To Joan's Gardens"

No posting for today. But, I had to tell you of my experience with "Joan's Gardens" ! This last Friday I was notified my credit card had been compromised. Within a short span of time 12 fraudulent charges had been made on my credit card. I spent most of the day and part of today on the phone or with a police officer filling out a report. I am sure you can all understand my frustration and disgust. My account was reported as fraudulent and it will take approximately ten days before I have a new account and cards. Then I received an e-mail from Joan Fricker telling me my order was ready to ship and my credit card would be billed. I quickly fired off an e-mail to her explaining what my problem was. I was ready to cry as my order included some wonderful items I had picked out for some special friends! I was sure my order would be cancelled and I would not have these items for the gifts. Not to worry, Joan said she would ship the items and I could just give her the new account number when it got here. How about that for customer service. I am so impressed, I have ordered through Joan before and always had excellent service, but this goes above and beyond. I hope you all will shop through her store and let her know just how much she is appreciated. Thanks and blessings to each of you. (And a pox on the thieves who steal, I pray that your equipment fails and you are caught by the authorities!!

Nothing But A Child

Another Christmas Magnolia stamp. I colored this Tilda with Copics and added a bit of sparkle to her head band. The sentiment is from SU and framed with a Spellbinders die. I added pearls and a Memory box die boarder.
My  Song: (Leann Womack)
Once upon a time
In a far off land
Wise men saw a sign
And set out 'cross the sand
With songs appraised to sing
They traveled day and night
With precious gifts to bring
Guided by a light
They chased a brand new star
Ever towards the west
Over mountains far
And when it came to rest
They scarce believed their eyes
They'd come so many miles
This miracle they prized
Was nothing but a child

"A Holly, Jolly Christmas"

This is one of those cards you have to see in real life to appreciate. The background paper is flocked and so the ornaments really stand out. I colored this little Christmas Maggie with Copics and then added glitter to the fur on the hat. I cut and matted the image with a Spellbinders die. I added holly and berries with a MS punch. A sheer red ribbon and a Santa charm finish off this card.
My Song:
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year,
I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer!
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Let It Snow"!

Since we are supposed to get snow tomorrow, I thought this card title would be appropriate! I love the Magnolia snowmen and see Amanda...they have mouths! LOL! I colored the image with Copics and added some glitter to the fur trim on the jacket. (I think I colored the jacket as a bell (too much time away from crafting!) LOL! I used a Memory box die for the boarder trim on the right side of the card. (You can pre-order these from Joan's Gardens for those who have asked where I got this!) The snowflakes are from a Marianne die. I added some clear rhinestones to complete this card.
My Song:
Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

"A Bunny Tree"

I had such fun coloring this cute little House Mouse stamp. I just love these bunnies. I used Copics to color the image. My paper is all scrap pieces from my scrap box. I thought the one with the white background reminded me of rabbit wire! Or, it was just my vivid imagination. The poinsettias are from a Marianne die. The leaves are from a MS punch and I added pearls and gold leafing to finish off the flowers. Another card for the  Christmas card stash!
My Song:
Rockin around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop!

I"m back!

I know that most of you are just interested in cards but I had to show you my layouts that I did in a class Thursday. I had so much fun and of course I was with my dear friend Wendy and so we had lots of laughs. We were supposed to do four layouts but by the time we had our measuring and cutting done on all four we had to put them together at home. I loved this layout and the colors were some of my favorite. Although it was a bit 'girly' I thought it worked well with these photos. The rest of the prior week I was on a dead run every day and did not have one moment to craft...oh, I was getting grumpy! LOL! To top things off Friday I spent most of the afternoon on the phone canceling my credit card after it had been compromised. Don't get me started on how much these people disgust me and what awful names I called them. Anyway, it was nice to be missed and I hope you enjoy my postings today (even the scrapbook layouts!). For those who live in the Boise area you can take these classes at Scrappers and Stampers Delight store. They have a wonderful staff that make your classes fun!

Reindeer Games!

I think this image is so funny! I just had to make a card with it. Kenny K has some fun new Christmas images out and this is one of them. I colored the image with Copics. I added a pink glow around Rudolph's nose and liquid glass to the sunglasses and his nose. I embossed my accent paper with a snowflake folder. I added some Christmas ribbon and red rhinestones to finish off my card. The challenge this week at KKKG's is "Celebration". Kenny K is offering 5 digi's to the lucky winner. Remember Kenny K posts a free digi each month so you can be eligible for his fabulous prizes!
My Song: (and my grandson's pick)
Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house on Christmas Eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa we believe!

I hope this puts a smile on your face!

"Life Is Worth The Living"

I think this week is not my week! I had to go to Boise today a 45 minute drive for me. I went to JoAnn's to pick up some Christmas paper pads. I couldn't find them anywhere. I asked a clerk who said, "Oh, I will be stocking those on the shelves in a few minutes. After waiting one hour and still no paper I gave up and left. It is rather disappointing with rising prices that this is the type of service we get. There are other craft stores in the Boise area, they got my money today. A big shout out about "Customer Service!" To smooth my ruffled feathers I came home and made a card! (OK, it was a good excuse!) I love this image from Mo Manning, it kind of tugs at the heart strings! I colored it with Copics, added some fine glitter to the snow, polar ice to the muff, and a MS punch. I added a ribbon, tiny silver bells, and a candy cane charm.  I used a Spellbinder die for the CTMH sentiment. Another card for the Christmas card stash. Hope your day was filled with blessings.
My Song: Breath of Heaven
I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I have done
Holy Father you have come
And chosen me to carry Your Son!
I am waiting in silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world cold as stone
Must I walk that path alone?

My Apologies!

I want to extend my apologies to all my blogging friends listed in my e-mail address book. It seems my address book was hacked into yesterday and everyone received an e-mail that looked like it was from me and was NOT!  I am still wishing a pox on every one who hacks, creates viruses or worms or any other problems for us non techi individuals. Thank heavens my DH was able to clean everything up for me. But, that did not stop an inappropriate e-mail from going out to you. Ugh! Today's card is another image from Krista Smith. I flipped the image and took out the snowman. I added a snow trim and felt holly leaves and berries. My DP is several years old and I have no idea where it came from. Just another Christmas card for my stash.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Mary Did You Know
Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, would soon deliver you.

"Crochet Flowers"

Our fantastic sponser this week at ABC's Challenge
I can not believe that it is already our third challenge at ABC! I am having so much fun on this great DT. It is a wonderful group of talented ladies. The next challenge is "Crochet Flowers" and I can't wait to see your lovely creations. I decided to used this cute little "LOTV" image and color her in fall colors. I framed her with a Spellbinders die. I used my lovely leaf punches and then added my crochet flowers. Aren't they a lovely accent? A brown brad (hand colored with my Copics) finishes off my card.  We are being sponsered this week by

My Song:
I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do
I could never see tomorrow, but I was never told about the sorrow
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend a broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart and let me live again
