Anything Goes ....Challenge!

Image -- "Summer Attitude"

A  closer look at the details
A cute charm....

The inside...with no sentiment yet!

I don't know about the rest of you in blog land but this has been a very busy summer for the Chapman household. We seem to race from one crises to another. My brother-in-law just had a full knee replacement. We have had illness, funerals and illness. This week we are helping our son and DIL in renovating their home they just purchased. Everyone is hot and tired at the end of the day and ready for bed. It doesn't leave much time to create. August is quickly approaching and it is always the month that I am ready for cooler weather. We have smoke and more smoke hanging in our valley from fires. Last night we had a thunder storm with lots of lightening and wind but little rain.  Enough complaining ...on to my card. This is such a fun image "Summer Attitude"  and perfect image  for our challenge "Anything Goes" at The Paper Shelter Challenge
It is also a double team participation so both "A" and "B" teams will try and inspire you. (And there is some lovely inspiration by my teammates). I hope you will take time from your busy summer to join us and play along. You could be the next winner of $30.00  to spend at The Paper Shelter !! Be sure and check out the lovely new images available. There is something for everyone!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Alan Jackson
Well, I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler
About workin' all summer just to try an' earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby, to try to get a date
My boss says, "No dice, son, you gotta work late"

Sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

"P" is for Pearls

Are you ready for a fun challenge on this hot summer day? Our letter is "P" for pearls! Our lovely sponsor is The Paper Shelter. I love the wide variety of images and papers they offer, I saw this die from   on one of Julie Prices cards and I had to order me one. It seemed perfect for a pearl card! I had so much fun making this card that I decided to make two! LOL!
Here is my second card!

As you can see there are just minor changes in this card but they are both different. I hope you will join us at ABC Challenge and while you are at it grab a few images from The Paper Shelter! You will love coloring them as much as I do! Who knows you may be  a winner and get to shop for free!
I am entering these cards at the following challenges:
My Song: Ooh, La La
Yeah, mmm, yeah
She's just minding her own business
Come on, ooh
She wandered by, taking her time
She'd stop to window shop
Saw his reflection in the glass
He passed his eyes on me
If you've got something to say, girl
Don't walk away, girl, give me a good reaction
If you've got something to say, boy
I ain't got all day, boy, go ahead, ask me a question
Ooh la la la, ooh la la la, ooh la la la, oh
Here comes love
La la la, ooh la la la, ooh la la la, oh

A Thank You To Real Life Heros

Because it is the 4th of July today, I wanted to share a card with a couple of Mo Manning images.

A friend of mine asked me to make a card for her son who had just received a promotion.
I chose to go back in time for the card. She has a picture of her son when he was small in an outfit much like this little guy. Since he has a little sister I thought merging the two images would make a great card. My friend cried (happy tears) when she saw the card. It made my day and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to make a card for a real life hero. Thank you Mike Henderson because of you I can live free in the country I love.

I had to make this card up to give to Mike also. I had fun making these cards. I hope as you celebrate your 4th of July you will thank a vet an pray for all the men and women who put their selves in  harms way for each of us.
I am entering these cards in the following challenges:
My Song:
I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy
A Yankee Doodle, do or die
A real live nephew of my Uncle Sam
Born on the Fourth of July
I've got a Yankee Doodle sweetheart
She's my Yankee Doodle joy
Yankee Doodle came to London
Just to ride the ponies
I am the Yankee Doodle Boy

Peaches and Photo Inspiration!

A closer  look at my image!
 Wooden butterflies and rhinestones.
 Another look!

I was so excited to see this lovely Image from THE PAPER SHELTER! You can find this lovely image here!
this week our fun challenge is a photo inspiration! Use the beautiful colors in this photo to create an entry for our challenge. Remember "IF" you use a fabulous Paper Shelter image you could win $30 to spend in the store and that will buy you many beautiful images!
Now for my card, I loved this image from the moment I saw it. I grew up in this beautiful valley that I now live in. When I was a child through my teen years I worked in the local orchards to make money for school. Picking peaches always came at the end of summer and often I could only work on week-ends as school had started before the peaches were ripe enough to pick. I still remember the itchy peach fuzz but the peaches were so yummy. I colored my image with Copics and added some wooden butterflies that I also colored with Copics. I added a bit of Stickles to the edge of the butterflies wings and pearls to the center. I also added some pretty rhinestones to show movement of the butterflies. A pretty bit of lace and a dotted ribbon finish off this fun card. Don't you love the sweet face on this cute image? Please join us for this fun challenge! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Trisha Yearwood
Katie's sittin' on the old front porch
Watchin' the chickens peck the ground
There ain't a whole lot goin' on tonight
In this one-horse town
Over yonder comin' up the road
In a beat-up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy, he's layin' on the horn
Splashin' through the mud and the muck
Her daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains, he got the short end of the stick
But Katie's young and man, she just don't care
She'd follow Tommy anywhere
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And even if they have to run away
She's gonna marry that boy someday
