I Don't Know!

I think this has been my look more than once lately. It must be the summer heat! I knew when I saw this Mo Manning image I would have to have it. (And yes! This also looks like our lab!) I wanted to enter this card at http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/group/cmccopicchallengegroup the challenge is girly! Well, I do have lace on my card, and rhinestone flowers and this little girl is dressed 'girly' in my book! Ha! I used my Copics to color this image and a MS punch for the lace.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Ole Shep
When I was a lad
And old Shep was a pup
Over hills and meadows we'd stray
Just a boy and his dog
We were both full of fun
We grew up together that way

Hot August Days

Is everyone as sick of HOT August days as I am? It seems I am dreaming of fall days alread. That is why I chose the colors I did for my card.

I colored the ever so sweet C.C. Designs Puppy Kiki La Rue DIGI with Copic pens. I popped her and her puppy's head with foam squares. I couldn't wait to use my *New* C.C. Designs Cutter Olive Branch Die it makes the prettiest leaf accents. The pretty little flower was cut with C.C. Designs Cutters Phlox Flowers Die. A touch of Paprika Stickles added a bit of bling to the petals. I finished off my card with the lovely C.C. Designs Cutter Butterfly Border Die.

This is my last post with the ATS Affiliate DT. I want to thank each of you for the opportunity to work on the DT and for allowing me to share my cards with you.

A Card For Another Day!

I made this card last week for a challenge, but never got it posted. I think I am having trouble concentrating lately. LOL! This is one of my favorite "Edwin" images. I cut him out and popped him out a bit with foam squares. I used a Spellbinders die to frame the image. I also popped it with foam squares. I added some cute little buttons and a large wooden button for accent. Just a fun little card!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song:
Some glad morning when this life is o'er,
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Have a great Sunday and blessings to each of you.

"Back To School"

Here we are mid-July and it won't be long until Summer is over! So for our challenge at ABC this month I thought I would do a back to school card. Our letter for this challenge is "T" and the challenge is to use "Two" of something. Now like a ding I forgot the challenge when I was making the card and so I added my two heart rhinestones. LOL! Our lovely sponser for this challenge is the Paper Shelter. I love all their fun images and this is a favorite of mine. I found the cute little black board at a close out bin at JoAnns I used a white gel pen to write on it. My lace is a self adhesive paper lace that I found at a Dollor Store many years ago. I colored my image with Copics and added a cute "School" brad a little liquid glass to make her glasses look real and my card is finished. I hope you will join us for this challenge it is easy-peasy and you could win a fabulous prize!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: See You In September
I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away, don't forget to write
Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long
See you in September
See you when the summer's through
Here we are
Saying goodbye at the station
Summer vacation
Is taking you away

"The Leader of The Pack"

My oldest grandson is turning 7 in a few weeks
Time is flying by so fast! It is hard to believe he is going to be 7. His biggest love is his dirt bike. It is small, but he thinks he can do anything the big guys do. Most of the time I am busy praying on the sidelines. LOL! I thought this would be the best image for his special birthday card. I even colored it the colors of his motorcycle and his gear. Happy Birthday Luke....Papa and Grammy love you!

My Song: the Shang Ra La's
I met him at the candy store
He turned around and smiled at me
You get the picture?
That's when I fell for the leader of the pack
My folks were always putting him down
They said he came from the wrong side of town
They told me he was bad
But I knew he was sad
That's why I fell for the leader of the pack

She's Everything!

It has been a bit since I have made a card specifically for a challenge I wanted to enter. But, this card is the one. The challenge at Saturated Canary is "Bling". It is always fun to add bling to a card, but it is darn hard to photograph it! I love this image...I worked as a librarian in my younger years and I loved it. I can't tell if she is checking out books or the librarian checking out who is borrowing the books. Either way she was fun to color. I add tiny rhinestones to her glasses and even to a bead on her eyeglass holder, the buttons on her blouse and larger ones to the side of the card and the flower trim. The heart die cut is out of a shiny iridescent gift bag....it really sparkles. A little liquid glass on her lenses finishes off this card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Brad Paisley
She's a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She's I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She's I can't find a thing to wear
Now and then she's moody
She's a Saturn with a sunroof
With her brown hair a-blowing
She's a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She's a warm conversation
That I wouldn't miss for nothing
She's a fighter when she's mad
And she's a lover when she's loving

Never Give Up!

This is another Darcy Digi. Doesn't she look like she is pondering something deep and personal? What better place than sitting on a swing out under a tree in your own back yard. I also was given an old hymnal that was falling apart. I am enjoying taking pages from it and using them on my cards. I antiqued them with a walnut ink and a sponge. My ticket was a freebie and I am so sorry that I can't remember where I got it to give credit. This card is off to a friend who needs to know I am thinking of her. I hope each of you have a blessed Monday.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: You Never Let Go
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We'll live to know You here on the earth

If That Isn't Love?

This is a CAS card...especially for me! It also has nothing to do with the title of my post, I just had that song on my mind. I hope each of you had a wonderful 4th of July. I spent the day thinking of my grandsons and wondering if they were having fun with fireworks. I do miss them so. This is a Saturated Canary image and I have no idea why I decided to use orange...have I ever mentioned that is is one of my least favorite colors? I must have been in a funk when I chose it. I did find this fun paper to pair up with it and I added a gold Spica pen to the embossed area. A ribbon finished off my card...do you think I will add a bit more before I send this card out? LOL....
My Song: (Elvis)
He left the splendor of heaven,
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha,
There to lay down His life for me.
If that isn't love
The ocean is dry,
There’re no stars in the sky,
And the sparrow can't fly;
If that isn't love
Then heaven's a myth,
There's no feeling like this
If that isn't love.

Just One Look!

I had such a good time making this card. Maybe because I love this Saturated Canary image and maybe because it is going to s special friend for her birthday (although it is late)! Red is a hard color for me and I keep using it hoping someday I will prefect my technique. So my coloring is a work in progress! I love the red, black, white and grey color scheme. I think it looks very elegant! I added lots of flowers from WOC, ribbon and paper lace. The sentiment is an old SU stamp. So, although this is late in arriving I want to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ELAINE. Thank you for blessing my life. I hope your day was a special one!
My Song:
Just one look, that's all it took, yeah
Just one look and I felt so fine, I, I'm in love with you
Oh, oh, I found out how good it fee-ee-eels to have your love
Oh, oh, say you will, will be mi-i-ine forever and always
Oh, oh, just one look and I knew, knew, knew that you were my only one.

(OK, this should have been a birthday song, but the song fit with the card!)

Love My Copics!

OK, Amanda...I'm on my way with my Copics...do you have the tickets to the island? LOL....just a joke between my and a good blogging friend. This is a freebie I got from Copic Marker Europe blogspot. I made this card to enter in their challenge. She was a fun color and the bag of Copics was a fun reminder to me of how I love my Copics. I wish I had more colors as I know I NEED them! Ha!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Petula Clark
You'll never see a dark cloud hanging 'round me
Now there is only blue sky to surround me
There's never been a gray day since you found me
Everything I touch is turned to gold
So you can color my world with sunshine yellow each day
Oh you can color my world with happiness all the way
Just take the green from the grass and the blue from the sky up above
And if you color my world, just paint it with your love
Just color my world

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July to each of you. I hope your 4th is filled with family and love. My thoughts to each of you who are or have been in the paths of the fires raging in the west. I pray that the fires will soon be under control. I am thinking of my family who are away today. I miss our times together.  My card is a digi from Saturated Canary. I also used a Taylor Expression stamp for the stars and swirls. I added some pretty flowers from WOC. I found a paper pad that is all occasion. I loved the 4th of July paper.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Alan Jackson)
Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?
Were you in the yard with your wife and children
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke
Risin' against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?
Did you weep for the children who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out with pride for the red, white and blue
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself and what really matters?

My Song:
I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be
But you stay here right beside me
And watch as the storm blows through
And I need you
Cause God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

Earth Angel!

I found a new digi artist...well new to me....Darcey's Digi's....this is one of her cute images. I just had to have a go at coloring it. I loved how this angel was wearing tennis shoes. Just a fun little card that will find a home one day! LOL!
My Song:
Earth Angel, Earth Angel
Will you be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you
Earth Angel, Earth Angel
The one I adore
Love you forever and ever more
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you
