Spooky

I had to laugh when I saw the coloring on this stamp. It was colored many years ago and I would like to think I have improved a great deal since then. But, I decided instead of throwing it in the trash bin I would make it into a card. I know someone int he nursing home will get a kick out of getting a card and they won't mind that my coloring is now the best.  Did you know you can take your cards to a local nursing home and the nurses can give the residents (especially those who never get a card) a homemade card to brighten their day? It is a great way to give back to your community. This cute stamp can be found at The Paper Shelter. She is called "Was Not Me" and can be found here. I colored my stamp with Copics and added some cute bat brads and a rhinestone to match the bubbles in the potion. I added liquid glass to the potion.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Spooky
In the cool of the evening when ev'rything is gettin' kind of groovy,
I call you up and ask you if you want to go and meet and see a movie,
First you say no, you've got some plans for the night,
And then you stop, and say, "All right."
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.
You always keep me guessin', I never seem to know what you are thinkin'.
And if a fella looks at you, it's for sure your little eye will be a-winkin'.
I get confused, 'cause I don't know where I stand,
And then you smile, and hold my hand.
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.
Spooky!

A Spoonful of Sugar

Although I have had this stamp colored for several years I had never made it into a card. This cute nurse can be found at The Paper Shelter. She came in a set of two and is one of the older stamps that has been used over and over. She makes a great card for someone who is ill or a thank you for the nurse who gave you or your loved one special care while you were in the hospital. It even is a great card for the school nurse who looks after our kids. She is called "Cute Nurses" and can be found here!
I hope you will check out The Paper Shelter  you will find so many fun stamps there will be one that will just fit the occasion you need it for.

My Song: A Spoonful Sugar
n every job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!
The job's a game
And every task you undertake
Becomes a piece of cake
A lark! A spree! It's very clear to see that
A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

Better On Line

This is another stamped image that I colored about a year ago and had never made into a card. I originally felt I had her skin too dark. Now, I can live with it. Heehee! I colored this Tilda with Copics and my sentiment is cut with a die. I kept it simple but like the colors. A simple card to keep in the stash for when the need arises!!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Better on Line (Brad Paisley)
I work down at the Pizza Pit
And I drive and old Hyundai
I still live with my mom and dad
I'm 5'3 and overweight
I'm a sci-fi fanatic
Mild asthmatic
Never been to 2nd base
But there's a whole another me
That you need to see
Go check out Myspace
'Cause online I'm down in Hollywood
I'm 6'5 and I look darn good
I drive a Maserati
I'm a black belt in Karate
And I love a good glass of wine
It turns girls on that I'm mysterious
I tell 'em I don't want nothing serious
'Cause even on a slow day I can have a three way
Chat with two women at one time
I'm so much cooler online
So much cooler online

Two Week Challenge at The Paper Shelter

My card using Josephine from The Paper Shelter

A closer look at Josephine!

A look at my foameran flowers! I need practice or a class!

A pretty die cut from Heartfelt!
 The inside of my card!
I must admit when I saw this stamp I fell in love with it. I love the way she seems to be dreaming of that certain memory she left behind or maybe it is anticipation of what likes ahead. I colored her with Copics and this time I chose lavenders. They are always a challenge for me to work with. I just can't blend them like I like. My flowers (I hope you think they are pretty) are my first attempt working with foameran. Spica pen added a bit of sparkle here and there on the card. Small drops of glassy glass was used on the the flowers for dew drops and was also used on the binoculars and here necklace. The die cuts are from Heartfelt. This card is for our two week challenge at The Paper Shelter! It is a fabulous time for you to win, win, win. It is also a break for the DT from commenting. Hope you all will join in on the fun!

A Water Color Class

At the Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup, Washington I took a water color class with   This was a new adventure for me as I had never water colored before. It was a fun and educational class and we created the above pictured card fronts in class. If you live in the Northwest I encourage you to attend the Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup. It was so much fun and we had the best companies teaching classes. Well worth your time and money!

Somewhere In Outerspace

I won this cute little stamp in a challenge several years ago. I apologize as I did not save it under the company name so I can not give credit where credit is due. It has been a fun stamp for little boy cards. I colored it with Copics and I added liquid glass for the window of the space ship. I used a die cut for the happy birthday and cut it twice, once in green and once in yellow. I used the negative on the yellow to make it look as if the space ship was flying over the moon. A fun quick card drawing from my stash of stamps I have colored for a bit. I hope you enjoy it!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Countdown Song
Somewhere in outer space, God has prepared a place
For those who trust Him and obey
Jesus will come again, although we don't know when
The countdowns getting lower every day
10 and 9, and 8 and 7, 6 and 5  and 4
Call upon the Savior while you may
3 and 2 coming through, the clouds in bright array
The countdowns getting lower every day

A Little Penquin Love

I have so enjoyed the new penguin stamps from Whimsy. This cute little guy just screams summer fun to me!  I colored him with Copics, added a little sparkle to match the dots on the DP with gold glitter paper using an Elizabeth die. The inside die is also an Elizabeth die. Easy, peasy,  card!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: I'm A Believer (Smash Mouth)
I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace, of doubt in my mind
I'm in love, and I'm a believer
I couldn't leave her if I tried
I thought love was more or less a giving thing
The more I gave the less I got oh yeah
What's the use in tryin'
All you get is pain
When I wanted sunshine I got rain

"Bat Girl"

Good day everyone! I wanted to share my card using the wonderful Bat Girl from Cute As A Button Shop!
I colored her with my Copic pens and added some Spica pen for a bit of sparkle on the bat tail and snaps. A friend had given me the paper for the background. I loved the gold sparkle and thought it would bring out the gold in Bat Girl's
outfit. I kept my card pretty simple as I wanted to have the focus on Bat Girl!
I hope you will go over to the challenge blog  http://cuteasabuttonchallenge.blogspot.com.au/

My Song: The Bare Necessities (Bill Murray, Kermit Ruffins)
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the trees
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at them fancy ants
And then maybe, well, try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you

Going Digital

I hope everyone had a save and sane 4th of July. The Chapman's always gather for a fireworks show and simple BBQ. I take the grandsons to pick out fireworks. As dark approaches we gather along our front sidewalk and the neighbors do the same with their family. We have visitors and other neighbors who gather to watch the show and then the grandsons (with their dad's supervision?) and the neighbors grand-kids take turns setting off their fireworks in the middle of the street. (Yes we live in a small town). It is great fun and then each group has a grand finally. All the spectators ooh, ah, and cheer for the kids. Each year the kids try to come up with new ways to impress the spectators. It is simple, great fun and fellowship with friends and neighbors. I love it and hope it is a memory that our grandsons will carry with them long after we are gone. How about you? Do you have a 4th tradition that you enjoy each year?
Now for my card! It is time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter. This time we want you to go digital. Use a digital image, use digital paper, or digital accents. GO, DIGITAL! am using "I Wish I Was There"  Don't you think she is so cute? I hope you will play along this week as we are having a grand time and it an easy way to win some fabulous stamps. Good luck!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Save Your Heart For Me (Gary Lewis and the Playboys)
Walk along the lake with someone new
Have yourself a summer fling or two
But remember I'm in love with you and
Save your heart for me
When the summer moon is on the rise
And you're dancin' under starlit skies
Please don't let stars get in your eyes, just
Save your heart for me
When you're all alone, far away from home
Someone's gonna flirt with you
I won't think it's wrong if you play along
Just don't fall for someone new

Thinking of Shirley tonight!

Tonight I am thinking of my dear friend across the pond Shirley Chalmers also known as "Nannieflash" . Shirley is having surgery and like all of us relieved that she will finally be  getting some relief from the things that are bothering her and nervous that she will be having surgery. If you have been there done that  you will know exactly what I mean. Shirley I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and saying prayers for you. I will be anxious to hear how you are doing after the surgery. God bless you and your family.

I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Family of God
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.
You will notice we say "brother and sister" 'round here,
It's because we're a family and these are so near;
When one has a heartache, we all share the tears,
And rejoice in each victory in this family so dear.
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.
From the door of an orphanage to the house of the King,
No longer an outcast, a new song I sing;
From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong,
I'm not worthy to be here, but praise God I belong!
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God
