The inside of my card!
Good morning and Merry Christmas to everyone! We are having a three week challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog! Our fearless leaders Shirley and Marie will be commenting but all my team mates will be taking time with their families! I have chosen the lovely digi "Follow The Stars" from The Paper Shelter for my card. She is a fun color and I wish that I could take better photos as these pictures do not show all the fun sparkle! The theme for our challenge at The Paper Shelter is "Anything Goes"! It doesn't get better than that!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

May the New Year bring you blessings!
My Song: Take a Walk Through Bethlehem (Trisha Yearwood)
The city's decorated up for Christmas
All the stores are open late tonight
People hurry through the frozen streets
I take a walk.
Every child has a thousand wishes
Every window has a thousand lights
Every soul has a need for peace
I take a walk.
There's a star that still outshines the night
You can find it if you close your eyes
And see the light.
Take a walk through Bethlehem
Come and kneel before the Lamb
Good news for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.
Every night another TV special
Merchants counting down the shopping days
But something's missing underneath the tree
I take a walk.
'Cause every heart longs for more than tinsel
Something more than just a holiday
Come and celebrate the baby King
Let's take a walk.
You don't have to travel anywhere
Faith and hope and love will bring you there
Bring you there.
Take a walk through Bethlehem
Come and kneel before the Lamb
Good news for every man
Walk through Bethlehem...

Our Design Teams have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter Website and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commentator a digi of their choice as well as the main prize, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot.
My card for Birthday/Celebrations!
I have chosen the lovely Coconut for my card!
We are having dreary cold weather so this card should bring on a sunny celebration!
I used a die to frame my digi stamp and added some pretty rhinestones for some bling!
A flower to finish off my card's warm, sunny feel added some balance to the bottom of the card!
A closer look at my beautiful digi stamp!

Mary Did You Know?

Another Christmas card for the stash. I am just mailing a few this year and most will be hand delivered. I think exchanging Christmas cards is another tradition that is dying. I made this card using a wonderful digi from Cute As A Button! Love those stamps.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Mary Did You Know?
Mary, did you know
That your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
That your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you
Mary, did you know
That your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
That your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
That your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby, you kissed the face of God?

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Joy To The World
Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And Heaven and nature sing

Penguin Christmas

This may well be my favorite Christmas card this year. I love this adorable penguin from Whimsy stamps. He just makes me smile. Of course, he is winging his way to Georgia for my younger brother's order of 40 cards. He is the last card I made for him (this year). LOL!   I colored him with Copics and added liquid pearls for the snow fall. I used glitter on the fur on his hat and the snow. The cute pine cone die is from Stampin' Up. I think will enjoy this one for many years to come.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on your troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
From now on your troubles will be miles away
Here we are as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest place
So have yourself a merry little Christmas
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
So have yourself a merry little Christmas

Christmas Candy Cane

This is another digi I have had colored for a few years. The stamp is from The Paper Shelter. It has been a challenge for me to use some of these stamps that I have colored several years ago as I can see so many flaws in my coloring. Hopefully, you can tell a difference in my coloring also. The pretty flowers are a stamp from Heartfelt Creations. Just a little Christmas card that hopefully will find a home this Christmas.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Holly, Jolly, Christmas (Burl Ives)
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh, ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

Oh, Christmas Tree

 A closer look!
 The inside of my card,
I have had this Christmas paper for quiet a while. I never was sure how to use it. I challenged myself to come up with a card that it would look good with. I am still not sure I  accomplished it. This is a PM stamp. I colored it with Copics and added liquid glass to the ornaments on the tree.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Oh, Christmas Tree
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Not only green when summer's here,
But also when it's cold and drear.
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
Thy leaves are so unchanging!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

 A closer look
 My Stamping Up Die cuts
I love this stamp from LOTV. Maybe, because it reminds me of our winter last year when it was a daily chore for about three weeks to shovel snow. According to the Farmer's Almanac it is supposed to be another long hard winter in Idaho. I am writing this post in August so by the time it posts perhaps I "will" be shoveling snow. This card is being sent to my brother in Georgia for his Christmas greetings. LOL! So I must post it early to get his box off in time for him to mail his "homemade" cards.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Let It Snow
Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Man it doesn't show signs of stoppin'
And I brought some corn for poppin'
The lights are turned way down low
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
When we finally kiss good-night
How I'll hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
And the fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing
But as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, and snow

Snorkeling Susie Inspriation

 Happy Birthday die cut
A closer look at the stamp
 The inside of my card!
We have a special friend whose daughter is turning sweet sixteen. She loves anything about the ocean. I thought this card would be perfect for her. I used the "Snorkeling Susie" stamp from Cute as a Button.
This is also my inspiration card for the stamps you can find at Cute As a Button!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Happy Birthday Sweet 16 (Neil Sedaka)
Tra la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen
Tra la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen
Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen
What happened to that funny face
My little tomboy now wears satin and lace
I can't believe my eyes you're just a teenage dream
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen

Sweet 16

 A closer look!

The left inside of my card.
The right inside of my card!

I made this fun card for a friends daughter who was turning 16! She wanted something to reflect her daughters love for the ocean and beach. This darling stamp from Cute As A Button filled the bill for  this card! I die cut the front panel sentiment and the inside is from Sweet and Sassy stamps. Just a fun little card for today!

Mary Did You Know?

 A closer look!

The inside of my card!
The Christmas season is upon us. I am making a few cards to send to special friends and family. I was happy with the way this card turned out. The stamp is from Fairy Ink. I loved it the minute I saw it and wanted it for some Christmas cards. My die is from Memory Box. I replaced the negative parts after staining the edges to pop them a bit more. Gold pen and liquid glass were used on the flame of the candle and the greens were from a SU die. I also added liquid glass to the star to make it pop!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Mary Did You Know
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?
Mary did you know
The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the great "I am"

A Visit From Santa

A closer look at 'Lil Santa'
 Another look!
 The embossing folder!
 Die cut sentiment!
 The inside of my card!
I must admit as bad as my shoulder is hurting I did have fun making this card. Does anyone else find that creating cards helps you forget your pain? It is new release time at Cute As A Button! I chose 'Lil Santa' for my card. Isn't he just the cutest Santa? You can check out all the new releases here!
There are some beautiful Christmas stamps that will appeal to everyone!
I used an embossing folder/stamp set  to make the fireplace, candle, ribbon, logs and fire! I embossed the fireplace and then cut it out and colored it. The candle, ribbon, logs and fire were stamped and colored and then I fussy cut them and popped them on my card. I also fussy cut 'Lil Santa' and popped him with foam dots. (Oh there is a kitty sleeping on the fireplace but my watermark covered him up!) I hope you will pop on over to Cute As A Button and grab you some fun digi stamps!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (The Jackson 5 version)
Wow, mommy's kissing Santa Claus
I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peep
She thought that I was tucked up
In my bedroom, fast asleep
Then I saw mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white
Oh, what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night
