Take My Hand

A closer look at my Paper Shelter image.
Even closer look!
My grandson is just completing spring soccer. It is so fun for my husband and I to attend his games. I love that my grandchildren are living just a few doors away and we reap the benefits of being a part of their lives almost daily. We have been truly blessed!
This cute image can be found at "The Paper Shelter"! He is called "Soccer Star". Just click on the link to quickly find him. If you have never shopped at The Paper Shelter you have missed out on some wonderful digis. You will not only receive a JPG or PNG ready to color you will also receive a colored image, and a colored background paper, all for $3! I have yet to find a better bargain anywhere! You will not be disappointed so give them a try! All of the DP is from the scrap box and I was pleased how it worked out for this card. The cute little soccer ball embellishment is a foam sticker that I have had for more than five years! I was happy to be able to use it! LOL! The pearls are also from the stash!

My Song: Take My Hand Precious Lord
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I'm tired, I am weak I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry,
Hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet,
Hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

"Love Is In The Air"

My card!
Do you think this cute little miss is just waiting for her true love to show up? I do! When I saw our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER was "Love Is In The Air", I knew this was going to be the the digi I would use. I chose a Memory Box heart die and added some white gel pen for the sentiment.  This die also includes the word "Love", which I outlined with a white gel pen. A spray of white roses and flat back pearls finished off my card. I hope you will play along with us in this fun challenge. You could be the next winner of a fabulous prize from "The Paper Shelter"! Please check out my team mates fabulous designs for this challenge.....they will knock your socks off! Have a blessed week!

And you need not know why
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now

A Bit of Lavender

A closer look at the image.
 My pretty die cut boarder.
 A pretty nylon butterfly.
I colored this image from SC when my husband was last in the hospital. I have often wondered if stress effects our coloring or artistic abilities. When I biggie size this I could see so many 'flaws' in my coloring...you will notice it is not "biggie sized". LOL! I still love the card and hope it will brighten someone's day. My paper came out of the scrap box. I added some pretty die cut lace and added some WOC two-tone roses. A pretty nylon butterfly and heart shaped rhinestones finished off my card.

My Song: (Nat King Cole)
They asked me how I knew
My true love was true?
I of course replied
"Something here inside,
Cannot be denied" They said someday you'll find
All who love are blind
When your heart's on fire
You must realize
Smoke gets in your eyes

Put Your Hand. . .

 Another look at my card.
A closer look at the image!
 My handmade flowers.
Does any one else feel like this year is racing by? Maybe it is just my age but it seems like time is passing so quickly. One of my dear friends soon to be daughter-in-law is being baptized this Sunday. She is such a sweet person and I wanted to give her a card that would let her know how special she is. I hope this card will convey to her that she is special in God's eyes. The DP I used is from an old pad that has long since lost it's cover. It is such pretty paper and I felt it really accented my image. My pretty flowers took me almost two days to make. LOL! Needless to say, I am not one of those who is proficient at making flowers. Maybe practice will make me perfect or at least faster!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Put Your Hand
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man

Birthday Wishs -Go Light Your World!

Isn't this just the cutest stamp. I have four new stamps from Dreamerland Crafts! This one is called "Keeping Company". I love stamps like this for 'guy' or 'boy' cards. I had a hard time photographing this card. I must admit I did use some 'dark' plaid paper. But it is much prettier IRL! Honest! My middle grandson turns eight on May 1st ...yep....he's a May Day baby! I think this card will be perfect for him. I added some cute little buttons, a die cut bike, and tag sentiments! A little plaid ribbon finished off my card! I colored the image with my Copic markers. They are my favorite medium to use because I can blend with them and it much like painting (another hobby of mine)!  I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Go Light Your World (Because Logan Lights Our World)
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
And there is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
Carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

BTY, I am trying to warm up. I attended my grandson's soccer game tonight and froze. We had a horrible wind and the chill factor made it fell like late  November not mid-April. Let's Hear It For The Boy!

I have a confession to make....I love this pizza maker! LOL! He just makes me smile and he is a perfect image for the guy cards I am always needing. You can find this cute guy at  The Paper Shelter he is called The Pizza Chief . I made this card for our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER . The challenge if you should choose to play along is  "For The Boys". It is a great time to add to your stash of 'guy' cards. So grab your favorite Paper Shelter image and play along with us.
I colored my image with Copics and then added some Stickles for a little bling around the pizza. I had some twine and some cute little metal utensils. A Happy Birthday sentiment and three flat backed pearls finished off my card. The paper I have had for almost 10 years, I have no idea where it came from but it seemed perfect for this card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: "Let's Hear It For the Boy
My baby, he don't talk sweet, he ain't got much to say
But he loves me, loves me, loves me, I know that he loves me anyway

'Cuz every time he pulls me near, I just wanna cheer
Let's hear it for the boy, on, let's give the boy a hand
Let's hear it for my baby, you know you gotta understand
Maybe he's no Romeo but he's my one-man show
Let's hear it for the boy

Christmas! Is it early or late?

A closer look at the image!
Another look!

This is such a great winter image and can be used for Christmas, Birthday, or even just a quick hello! I colored this cute image from The Paper Shelter several months ago.  I came across her while I was cleaning my craft room and decided to make her into a card. So I think even though I am late doing this but I am actually early for Christmas! LOL! That's my story and I am sticking to it! I know that pink is not a traditional Christmas color but I thought it looked pretty on this card! I added plastic snowflakes and then adorned them with rhinestones. I thought this was  nice touch!  A little Stickles gave this image a little additional sparkle. I finished off this card with a sheer pink ribbon and bow with two little bells that cam off an old Christmas Ornament. I hope you enjoy my late/early card!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (just for laughs/or the Joke is it is SPRING!)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

Wild Thing!

I am so far behind on my posting. This winter I have struggled keeping up with all the things that I have going! But, at last I am posting this card. I will tell you that this card took me way out of my comfort zone. It was one of the first cards I colored after taking one lesson with Kit an Clowder Skin and Hair class. All of the practice I have been doing since is paying off as I can see a big difference in my coloring. But this was a free image and I must say that I did have fun with the colors. I kept the background paper muted as my colors on the image were a bit bold! It is hard to tell but IRL there is lots of sparkle to this card. I used a Spica pen and in the light (this picture was taken on our dark and dreary days) the card sparkles! I kept the embellishments simple as I wanted the image to be the focal point! Just a fun little 'practice' and hopefully a card that will brighten someone's day. I hope your day is filled with blessings!
My Song: Wild Thing (The Troggs)
Wild thing, you make my heart sing
You make everything groovy, wild thing
Wild thing, I think I love you
But I wanna know for sure
Come on and hold me tight
I love you

Did Someone Say "Flick that Copic?"

 A closer look!
 The inside of my card.
I have been practicing my 'flicking' for those of you who have taken the 'Skin and Hair' class at Kit  and Clowder  you will know exactly what I am talking about. It is definitely something that takes practice and I am determined to master it! LOL! This image from    is the perfect practice piece. I used a white cored chocolate card stock to emboss and then sanded it. I really like the look for the background of my card.Hope your week is going well and filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Some Enchanted Evening
Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger
You may see a stranger across a crowded room
And somehow you know, you know even then
That somewhere, you'll see her again and again
Some enchanted evening, someone may be laughing
You may hear her laughing across a crowded room
And night after night, as strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams

A Little Sparkle and a Lot of Pearls!

I have been working on my classwork at Kit and Clowder. I have yet to finish my Skin and Hair class so it was a fun opportunity to practice my skin coloring with this beautiful image from Aurora Wings. Aurora Wings As you can see by my card I added lots of sparkle and pearls. I did a bit of fussy cutting about the wings to make the image pop. I also used some new die cuts to add a bit of whimsy to my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

 My Song:Angel of the Morning
There'll be no strings to bind your hands
Not if my love can't bind your heart
There's no need to take a stand
For it was I who chose to start
I see no need to take me home
I'm old enough to face the dawn
Just call me angel of the morning angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning angel
Then slowly turn away from me

A Little Sunny Yellow!

A closer look at my image!
 Pretty flowers
I   love Sarah Kay images and this one is a particular favorite of mine. She is such a sweet image and can be used in so many various cards. The background DP came out of my scrap basket. The pretty flowers are from WOC. I added a ODB Happy Birthday and cut my own banner for it. The pretty rhinestones add a bit of sparkle. Just a fun card to bring a little sunshine to someone!
I am entering this car at the following challenges:
My Song: (Roger Miller)
Walking In the Sunshine, sing a little sunshine song
Put a smile upon your face as if there's nothing wrong
Think about a good time had a long time ago
Think about forgetting about your worries and your woes

"A Little Cowboy"

Have you ever made a card that you just liked? For me this is one of  those cards. I think it is because I am so pleased with the way the chaps came out. they actually look furry to me! I think it is the flicking I have learned in my Skin and Hair class at Kit and Clowder! Also, it is because I love this image, you must admit it is mighty cute. I kept my layout CAS as I wanted the image to be the focal point. I did make a little 'pocket' with a 'hankie' peeking out. I added some star buttons and some mini buttons for interest. So, what do you think...will he lasso your heart?
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Little Cowboy
Little cowboy, put your saddle in the barn
Tie your horse up tight, so he'll know no harm
Put your hat and your gun
Beside you on the chair
Don't forget, you've got to say a little prayer
Little cowboy, you'd better hit the sandman trail
Or you'll be late for roundup time you know
If you wanna be a cowboy, you'd better rest a while
Little cowboy baby of the old corral

Easter Time

A look at the cute Easter egg buttons!

The Easter basket button
A closer look at the image!
I think of all holidays Easter is one I seldom make cards for. This cute image from The Paper Shelter was just too cute for me to pass up. My grandsons will be coloring Easter eggs this year (probably at my house), but they also know the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate the holiday. I am blessed and grateful for my grandsons! So, onto our challenge at The Paper Shelter. The challenge is "Easter Time".  Don't forget if you use a Paper Shelter image you are eligible for the $30.00 prize. Since they have such lovely images you will want to grab a few and play along.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: "He Arose"
  1. Low in the grave He lay,
    Jesus, my Savior,
    Waiting the coming day,
    Jesus, my Lord!
  2. Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
    • He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
      He arose! He arose!
      Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Happy Birhday TaCole!

Today is my sweet DIL's birthday. It seems as if she has always been a part of our family. She is a busy mom of three (adorable) boys and they do keep her hopping. She and my son recently built a rabbit hutch for their middle son's rabbit. (A 4-H project). I hope your day is a wonderful one TaCole! Logan, picked this card for you...he said it looked like you! I hope this birthday and the coming year are one of the best yet!
This is a Saturated Canary image. I colored it with Copics. I added a die cut paper lace and rocking horse. The sentiment is from LOTV.  I added liquid glass to the balloons and some pretty rhinestones to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Trace Adkins
She was staring out the window of that SUV
Complaining, saying "I can't wait to turn eighteen"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Momma put the car in park out there in front of the school
She kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
