"Momma Told Me Not To Come"

Do you remember this song?
Want some whiskey in your water, sugar in your tea?
What's all these crazy questions they're askin' me
This is the craziest party that could ever be
Don't turn on the lights 'cause I don't wanna see
Momma told me not to come! Momma told me not to come!
That ain't the way to have fun, no!
OK, how many of you were singing that song as you read the words? LOL! Today's challenge at KKKG's is also a new release of his fabulous new "Steampunk" images. I don't know why but this image called "Jayne Jetpack" made me think of that song! I have never done a 'steampunk' card and so this was a challenge for me. I loved coloring this image but I was not sure about the colors I used if they are 'steampunk' or not. I added some Spica pen and liquid glass for interest. The DP is from KC & Company. The flower is a die cut from Cherrylynn. I added a rhinestone brad for a little bling. The gears were from my stash as was the bit of ribbon. I hope you will join us this week at KKKG's
challenge. There is a fantastic prize from Bearly Mine Designs and of course our own Kenny K! You won't want to miss out on the chance to win!
Here is my second card with the same image! I tried to do a darker, more 'goth' looking card! Oh, this is hard for me to do. Just for fun I added a 'bat' to the ribbon! How's that for dark? LOL!
My apologies to my team members. All my posts for the next two weeks are scheduled and I messed up my time on the post below and it posted at the wrong time. I am so sorry that I posted before I should have....I will blame it on a very active 4 year old, and a super active 5 year old and a very tired grammy!

"Shot To The Heart"

I am giving it my all for the new release of "Steampunk" images at Kenny K's. I have never done steampunk and so this was a big challenge for me! It is always good for us to try something new and different! These new images are fun to color it is just the details of the card that are hard for me to put together to make it all look steampunk! This image is call 'Scarlet West' and I just imagine she is about to steal someone's heart! I colored the image with Copics. I added a punched heart that I glazed with liquid glass and put the smoke above the image. All of my paper is from my scrap box. I added some lovely lace from WOC and two metal brads from Memory Makers to finish off my card. I hope you will join us this week at KKKG's . There are some fantastic Bearly Mine Designs and of course Kenny K! So, get a new steampunk image and show me what steampunk is all about!
This image is call "Eva Pearl". The dp is from KC and Company. I added mulberry roses from WOC and a decrative corner from Cherrylynn. The button is from my stash and the mesh is self adhesive sheet rock tape....so much cheaper than the costly mesh and you can color it with your Copics! I hope you have enjoyed my version of steampunk.

Have A Fairy Happy Birthday!

This is a simple and in my case what I  would call CAS card. I love this beautiful image from "Wee Stamps". I colored her with Copics. I used a Spellbinders label (Thanks Janie!) to add a decorative touch. I add Mulberry flowers from WOC and if you notice my lovely leaves they are a MS punch given to my by my special friend Amanda. Just a fun little card for a special friends birthday. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. We are spending it with our grandkids. Nothing gets better than that.

Christmas In The Heart!

This is a scheduled post! I am enjoying a week with my grandsons. Luke and Logan are staying with Grammy and Papa and we are having so much fun. I played in the craft room before they came and thought I would share this card with you this week. This is a h'Angler stamp, colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart and the 'cookie' is a button that looks good enough to eat. Just another card for the Christmas card stash! Blessings to each of you! Have you told your kids you love them today?

Happy Birthday Wendy!!!!!

Today is my special friend Wendy's birthday. Even though she is 'much' younger than me, I tell everyone she is my mother. Because I want to inherit her scrapbook room. It is PACKED with the most wonderful things. Wendy is also the person who started me stamping. I did not realize at the time what a monster she was unleashing! (Nor did my poor DH!) I wanted to make her a card that was special and one that would let her know how much she is loved. This is a favorite Mo Manning image of mine. I chose to do an easel card. I colored her with Copics and framed her with a Spellbinders die. I traced around the die with a 'fat pencil' (you know the kind we used in kindergarten)! I hand cut that mat. I added a bright polk a dot ribbon and double bow. My mulberry roses are from WOC. The sentiment is from SU (thanks Wendy--my SU dealer) and a little heart charm finished off this birthday card.
Happy Birthday Wendy!

"Tickled Pink"

I went to the mailbox this morning and was "Tickled Pink"! I had left a comment on Eulanda Silvey's bog "Cards and more Cards" and she was so sweet to send me this lovely stamp. There is something about these fun and quirky images that appeal to me. This image is called Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Lylah, and even though she had traveled a long distance she was dying to get inky! LOL! I colored her with Copics and added a little Spica pen to the ruffle on the umbrella and her big blue eyes. I added antique brads, ribbon, mulberry rose, heart charm and a rhinestone to finish off my card. Thank you Eulanda I am going to enjoy this stamp! Have a wonderful week-end and happy Friday!

"I BEE-lieve In You"

This is a new image from Mo Manning. It was only $1.00 and the proceeds go to help with the care of lost cats and dogs. I think it is a very sweet image and I colored it with Copics. I used scrap pieces of paper and followed the sketch at http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ I love doing sketch challenges as they always give me a start for my card. I added a little bit of ribbon and three bumble bee brads to finish of this simple little card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

I am always thrilled to get a hand made card. I know how much work and thought goes into these cards. That is what makes them so special to me. I received these cards from some very talented ladies and thought they were worthy of sharing with you. I am framing each card and hanging them in my craft room. I hope you enjoy these cards as much as I am! hugs!

Pip & Mojo Monday

Happy Monday! I hope every one's week is starting off in a grand way! This image is one of my birthday presents...Thank you Elaine! The ribbon is from sweet Amanda and the inside sentiment (I forgot to get a picture of  is from sweet Janie....my heartfelt thanks you made my day! See my wonderful leaves, they are a MS punch that Amanda gave me. I had complained to her that my leaf punch was sticking and I had to drop it on my work disk to release it. LOL! This punch is so much easier to use (I know my work desk appreciates it!) Janie also sent me the lovely flowers. My dp is from Debbie Mum and Bearly Mine. Donna has some lovely digi paper! I cant remember where my doily die is from. I added paper lace with a MS punch to finish off my card. I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Faith Is Knowing

I had promised my fellow blogger and a sweet friend Ann Forrest that I would do a card for the http://stlukescharitycardschallenge.blogspot.com/ she was hoping more people would join the challenge. The challenge is black and white with one pop of color. There are so many possibilities with this color combo and Ann has done a beautiful card for the challenge. I am sending this card to a special friend who is going through a very rough time right now. She just lost a dear member of her family and is hurting from the loss. I hope this card will help to brighten her day and let her know that others care. I used DCWV dp and added flowers and a butterfly from WOC. A sheer bow ribbon and a heart charm finish off this card. Can you believe....no coloring....a hard one for me. LOL. Blessings to each of you! And hop on over to http://stlukescharitycardschallenge.blogspot.com/ and enter their challenge!

"All The Leaves Are Brown"

Since I love fall colors and we can't seem to have summer here in Idaho, I decided to go for a fall card. I mean we are mid-July and it is in the low 80's we should be in the 100's.  I love this Sassy image, she looks like she is having lots of fun in the fall leaves. I colored the image with Copics. (Do I really need to say that?) I also colored my pearls so they would match my fall theme! I added flowers and a butterfly from WOC! A sheer ribbon and bow finish off my fall card. Only two more days and my grandsons will be here! I just can't wait to see them! I am entering this card at the following challenges:

I Love You This Much!

Another Christmas card done! I followed the sketch at Midnight Madness . I loved this sketch as everything fell into place for me. I colored my little Maggie with Copics. I used a MS boarder punch and wrapped twine around it and then added a snowflake button to gather the twine. I used a Marianne die to make my poinsettias and added glitter to the embossed edges and half pearls in the center of the flowers and to the corners of the the card. Just a quick card for my Christmas stash!

Life is Beautiful!

Every year we rent a house on the coast and spend a week with our kids and grand kids. It is such a fun time making memories. I wanted to make a card to send to our grandsons just to remind them that we would be  going soon and to let them know I was looking forward to being with them. I thought this cute little image from Odd Girl would be just the ticket for each of them. I used the same piece of dp for the background and then used scrap pieces for the rest of my cards. I added twill tape, sea shell buttons and ticket sentiments to finish of my cards. I can't wait to play on the beach!

"Happy Birthday Robin"

I have a good friend Robin, we always celebrate our birthdays together this month. She is ten years younger than I but we have always been the best of friends. I want her to know how special she is and so I made this card for her. I must admit I would have never thought of combining turquoise and olive green together, but I rather like it. What do you think? I framed the image with a Spellbinders die, as is my SU sentiment. I added a ribbon, butterfly, dragonfly and paper flowers to finish off my card. Happy birthday to everyone born in July!

Christmas MOJO!

I decided to take an image that wasn't really a Christmas image and use it for a Christmas Card. I colored this miniature h'Angler with Copics and framed it with a Spellbinders die. I added half pearls to the second frame on the image and the sentiment. The sentiment is from SU. I added a snowflake button and some ribbon from a bargain bin. A MS punch finished of my Mojo Christmas card. Happy Monday! I am entering this card at the following challenges:

Sharing With A Friend!

I love this little image from Mo Manning. Perhaps because it reminds me of our son's dog Saddie. She would do anything for a taste of your food. Saddie brought us all lots of laughs and it broke our hearts when she died. I colored this fun image with Copics and added a bit twin and a button. For me, this is a clean and simple card! Have a wonderful Sunday...blessings to each of you.

Summer Fun!

My day was NOT spent having fun like this....I spent my day helping my husband clean his shop. Ugh! Floating down the river on a tube sounds like much more fun! LOL! This is a cute image from Kenny K and I have not seen it used much so I wanted to ink it up with my Copics. I added a little Spica pen to the water for some sparkle. My ticket sentiment was a freebie. I added some bright ribbon and foam sunglasses that I added liquid glass to. Some foam flip-flops finished off my summer fun card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"In The Pink"

This little Tilda must have been in Idaho for our spring weather....we have had the most unusual spring/summer. Lot's of rain and cool temps. We are just now experiencing summer weather. I colored this Tilda with Copics and added a little Spica pen to give the raindrops and water puddle some sparkle. I used a die cut doily and distressed the edges of all my paper. A bit of lace, metal corners and a ticket sentiment finished off my card. I am entering this card a the following challenges:

"Dreaming That You're Here"

I had such fun playing with this card! I think this is Blueberry Tilda? But we are harvesting cherries here and my dh just brought me home some fresh yummy cherries. So, I decided  to make what she is holding cherries. (Artistic license!) I followed the sketch at http://pinkinksketchchallenges.blogspot.com/ today is their first challenge! I colored the image with copics and framed her with a lifestyle die. I added ribbon from my sash and three cute daises from LOTV. I finished off my card with a sentiment from LOTV. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Hello From The Heart"

There are so many new stamps on the market today that it is easy to forget about what we already have and enjoy using. I love this cute little girl from LOTV. I think all of us can remember trying on our mom's high heels and getting a dress to 'dress-up' in. I love to see kids using their imagination and 'pretending.' I followed the lovely sketch from Donalda for the LOTV challenge. Please check out Donalda's blog she does the most lovely cards. I colored my cute little image with Copics. I added some flowers with a Magnolia Do-Hickey die. The sentiment was a freebie and I add liquid glass to it also and popped it with foam. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

A Magical Birthday

I decided to do a bit of experimenting with papers and colors today. This is a free image from Precious Moments. It isn't as crisp and clean as I would like it to be, but it was fun to play with. I colored the image with Copics and added Stickles to the dot on the hat and cape. All the DP is from my scrap box...hence I worked with what I had. LOL! The sentiment is from LOTV. I thought it went perfect with this little image. I hope all of you have a wonderful week-end. Blessings!

"Peace On Earth"

I am still plugging away on my Christmas cards. It is almost mid-July and before I know it the summer will be over. So I am busy getting ready for the Christmas card season. OK, I just wanted to color this cute little h'Angler. I'm not really planning ahead. LOL. I colored this cute stamp with Copics and then popped him with foam. I added some ribbon from a close out bin and snowflake buttons. My sentiment is from CTMH. All my paper is from my scrap bin. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Diesel Dawg"

Because I am from Idaho I have often heard the term "Redneck" often in reference to the citizens of Idaho. While I don't agree with this I have to admit we might have few guys like "Diesel Dawg" running around (some might just live in my neighborhood! LOL! This is a "Kenny K" image. He took me a bit of time to color but I think he was worth the time I spent on him. I colored the image with Copics and add liquid glass to the windshield, lights, and hub caps. I added three large eyelets to the side of the card and filled the centers with Stickles (needed the bling). A bit of twine finished off this fun card. I think it will be a great guy card.  I want to remind everyone about our blog hop this Sunday. It is Kenny K's one year anniversary and there will prizes galore.
