"A Christmas Card"

The inside of my card!
Only one month away and Christmas will be here! EEEEK! I hope you are all ready for it. But, me...it might be panic time. I like to have all my gifts bought, wrapped and the house ready to go the day after Thanksgiving. My husband swears it is proof that I have OCD! LOL!
Anyway, on to my card. I chose "The Turkey Is Ready" for our fun challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER .
Our challenge is "Christmas"!  This is a great time to get a start or finish up on those Christmas cards.
I used Copics to color my image. I added liquid pearls to the 'berries' in my die cut. The DP was all from Christmas pads from last year. The dies are new ones from Memory box. I added some Stickles and half rhinestones to my card to add some sparkle. I added some sparkly half squares and my card was done! Remember you could win $30 prizes using a PAPER SHELTER IMAGE. Happy crafting and "Merry Christmas!"
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Christmas Song
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Will help to make the season bright
And tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

My Football Hero's!

My two oldest grandsons both play football. It has been great joy for us to be  able to attend their games. They both are growing up so fast I want to tell them to stay small for a little longer. I am so blessed to have them in my life. I wanted to send them a little card and thank them for inviting us to all of their  games. I used this great image  from Kenny K. I hope they will enjoy these cards.
I am entering these cards at the following challenges:

My Song:  The Ball (James Ott)
If I hadn't dropped the ball, I would've took it all the way
Homecoming '89 with ten seconds left to play
We were drivin' toward the goal line, they were screamin' in the stands
I had the chance to be a hero but it slipped right through my hands
There would've been a big pep rally
They would've hung my jersey on the wall
If I hadn't dropped the ball

Believe

Can you believe it is only 6 more weeks until Christmas? Yikes! I don't know about you but I  had best get busy on all the preparations. In the meantime I thought I would share a little Christmas card with you.  This cute image is from Polk a Doodles and it was a fun color. I wanted this card to be more on the masculine side rather than traditional. I went a little crazy with liquid pearls. I tied to create a snowstorm. We had a bit of a snowstorm yesterday. I am looking forward to  the first snow!  I am looking forward to the Christmas season. I like all the lights, music, and excitement of the little ones as we celebrate Jesus's birth.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Hallelujah - Christmas Version
I've heard about this baby boy
Who's come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I'm singing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God's only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah
The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You'll find Him in a manger bed
Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
Hallelujah
A star shown bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the wise men three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
Hallelujah
I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Sky Pilot

This card was made for my youngest grandson! He loves to go to the mailbox and get the mail. I thought it would be fun for him to have some mail of his own. He is dressed in his Halloween outfit and I thought this PM stamp was the perfect card for him. I added some die cut clouds and lined them with a shiny silver paper. A little liquid glass to the heart, goggles, and the patches on the plane. Some tiny hearts were added to the clouds and the sentiment is a yard sale find (but I just noticed how crooked it is!) Maybe that is the reason it was sold at a yard sale. Love this little baby boy and enjoy all the special times with him. I am blessed beyond measure!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Sky Pilot (Eric Burdon and the Animals)
He blesses the boys as they stand in line
The smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
He smiles at the young soldiers
Tells them its all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
The order is given
They move down the line
But he's still behind and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate
As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels so tired and he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said
Sky pilot... sky Pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
You're soldiers of God you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
May God give you strength
Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
Only time it will tell
In the morning they return
With tears in their eyes
The stench of death drifts up to the skies
A young soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot
Remembers the words
"Thou shalt not kill"
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You never, never, never reach the sky

"V" is For Violet

A closer look at the image!
Another look at the image and the gears!
My fun sentiment!
I must admit I had a fun time coloring this image. I had some time to play and this image just seemed to flow together. You can find this image at The Paper Shelter, she is called "The Rebel".  I colored her in shades of violet to fit our challenge at ABC Challenge which is "V" for violet. I die cut the gears and added rhinestone brads. Spica pens added a little more sparkle. Die cut lase and ribbon added a bit of softness to the "Rebel".  The sentiment was a freebie from TLC. I hope  you will join us for this challenge. I can't wait to see what you do with your violets.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: He's a Rebel (couldn't resist this)
See the way he walks down the street
Watch the way he shuffles his feet
My, he holds his head up high
When he goes walking by, he's my guy
When he holds my hand, I'm so proud
'Cause he's not just one of the crowd
My baby's always the one to try the things they've never done
And just because of that, they say
He's a rebel and he'll never ever be any good
He's a rebel 'cause he never ever does what he should
But just because he doesn't do what everybody else does
That's no reason why I can't give him all my love

Hallelujay!

Is everyone busy with the holiday season? It seems even though I am retired that I am always busy! I am getting excited about visiting a dear friend of mine right before Thanksgiving. It will be so good to see her and her husband. They are the sweetest couple and the best friends my husband and I could ask for. We are attending a CK Convention and I am looking forward to the classes and seeing all the talented people and great companies!
I hope you have some special plans for the upcoming holidays.
On to my card . . . I colored this cute image by Emanuella Colin with Copics. A touch of Stickles on her flowers added just a bit of sparkle. The cute die cut is from Joanna Sheen. She has some lovely dies. and I love the detail they cut with.  I added some half pearls to each of the butterflies. The sentiment  on the left is  a computer generated and the one on the right is a yard sale stamp.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Hallelujah

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well, it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled King composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Well, your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Hey, There Little Red Riding Hood!

A closer look at this fun image!
 The inside of my card!
This fun image is from The Paper Shelter. She is called "Steampunk Little Red Riding Hood". I wanted to make my card look as if she was just heading out to Grandma's house. I used Poppy die cuts for the trees (forest) . I sponged them with walnut ink and added a bit of white gel pin. The fence is a  C.C. Design die cut. This is really a fun color and such a sweet face that the steampunk is  not the usual hard look and would be appropriate for someone younger.
Our challenge this time at The Paper Shelter is "Travel". I thought this would be a fun take on the Challenge. Please join us for the opportunity to win a fabulous prize!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs)
Owo, who's that I see walkin' in these woods
Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood
Hey there Little Red Riding Hood
You sure are looking good
You're everything a big bad wolf could want
listen to me
Little Red Riding Hood I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone
Owo
What big eyes you have
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad
So just to see that you don't get chased
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways
What full lips you have
They're sure to lure someone bad
So until you get to grandma's place
I think you ought to walk with me and be safe

Autumn Enchantment

 My pretty corner die.
A closer look at the image.
The inside of my card.
This is one of the new images from THE PAPER SHELTER she is called Autumn Enchantment. I think she is lovely and I love the new digis that have been released and I know you will also! I had intended to have just a bit of her wings hang out of the white background but then I realized that I had cut it crooked and so a little snip here and then there and soon most of the white was snipped away. So goes the best laid plans! I Used some new dies on this card and I enjoyed playing with them but wish I was one of those people who had the the talent and ability to  manipulate the dies and make them look wonderful...I seem to lack any imagination when it comes to doing so.
At least this stamp is so cute it makes up for the lack of design on this card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Air I Breath
this is the air I breathe
Your holy presence living in me
this is my daily bread
this is my daily bread
Your very word spoken to me
And I, I'm desperate for you
And I, I'm I'm lost without you
this is the air I breathe
this is the air I breathe
Your holy presence living in me

Sugar, Honey, Honey

A closer look at the stamp!
Another look!

Can you believe we are half way through November? Time just seems to be flying by. Speaking of flying I leave next Thursday to fly to Seattle. I and another friend will meet up with one of my BFF's and we are attending the CK Convention. We will take lots of classes and attend crops and have a fun time catching up on each other's lives. After the convention we will spend a few more days and then I fly home and prepare for our family Thanksgiving dinner. So, I will be absent form blog land but having fun!
Ok...time to get on with the card I made!  The stamp is from S.C. I colored her with Copics. I added some cute Poppy mushrooms. I added some white gel pen for the polk a dots and Stickles for a bit of sparkle. I had these cute metal flowers which I popped with foam dots. I hope you enjoy this card and today you will take time to reach out to a friend and let them know how much you appreciated them.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (The Archies)
Sugar, sugar, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Honey, honey, sugar, sugar
I am your candy girl
And you got me wanting you
I just can't believe the loveliness of loving you
(I just can't believe it's true)
I just can't believe the wonder of this feeling, too
(I just can't believe it's true)

Hello, hello...

I couldn't help but think about a special person I know that has not had the best of luck in choosing a special guy. It is sad to hear her say how much she cares for a guy who is not worthy of her. This image for some reason makes me think  of this person.
The image is from Saturated Canary  and is a fun color. I colored her with Copics and added some liquid glass to the wine glass. If you will look real close you will see a little white dot in the glass. It is a tiny piece of paper that fell into the liquid glass. I am pretending it is a bubble from the drink. (If you can explain it then it is not a mistake, right?!) LOL! I am amazed how often this type of thing happens to me. Some pretty half rhinestones, ticket sentiment, and a ribbon and bow finish of my card.
I hope you have a day filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It Must Be Him (Vikki Carr)
I tell myself, what's done is done
I tell myself, don't be a fool
Play the field, have a lot of fun
It's easy when you play it cool
I tell myself, don't be a chump
Who cares, let him stay away
That's when the phone rings and I jump
And as I grab the phone, I pray
Let it please be him, oh dear God
It must be him, it must be him
Or I shall die, or I shall die

Mona Lisa

I painted wildlife pictures for several years. Oil was my medium of choice. I enjoyed this for approximately five years and then I began to notice every time I painted my throat was raspy and my eyes watered and then the sneezing and coughing started. So, I packed away my brushes, oil paints and canvases. I must admit when I saw this cute image from THE PAPER SHELTER I really thought about digging them out again. But, I think I can challenge myself with Copics. I love this pretty paper and it made me think of something this artist might paint! I added liquid glass and some dots of Stickles for a bit of sparkle. A pretty little sheer ribbon and bow finished off my card (this is my stash item as it came from my moms craft room 15 years ago.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Nat King Cole)
Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa
Men have named you
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only cause you're lonely
They have blamed you
For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile
Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there, and they die there
Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa
Or just a cold and lonely, lovely work of art

What If I Give All

The Christmas season will soon be upon us. I was thinking today just how blessed I am.  I have so much in my life and I am ashamed to admit that there are many things I forget to thank God for. I don't have to go hungry nor do my children and grandchildren. We have health issues in our family but we are all still alive and kicking. I could go on but I know you get the picture. So as Christmas approaches I have to ask myself, "What if I gave all? This season I am not going to ask for 'things' but rather think of ways that I can give. How about you? What if you gave all?
My card is a cute image from Sherri Baldy. She is all ready for Christmas! I colored the image with Copics and added glitter to the hat. I also dotted with Stickles around the image for some sparkle.  Little red dots of Stickles on the wings also added some pretty sparkle. I die cut my poinsettias and added some silver marker to the edges of the poinsettias and the holly leaves.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: What if I Give All
He heard the preacher say
A single dime can feed
A hungry boy or girl
With nothing to eat
So he pulled a dollar
From the pocket of his jeans
And he asked his mama
How many will this feed?
She just smiled
And when she told him ten
He reached back again
What if I give all I have?
What will that gift do?
My child, a gift like that
Could change the world
It could feed a multitude
He didn't close his eyes
Or turn away
I can see him standing tall
He saw the need
And I can hear him say
What if I give all
And long ago a Father and a Son
Saw the children lost in sin
Can you see the tears
In the Fathers eyes
As Jesus says to him
What if I gave all I have?
What will that gift do?
My Son, that gift
Will change the world
It will free the multitudes
What if I give all I have?

When It Rains

A closer look!
The inside of the card!
November 1st and is this the official start of the holiday season? Well it is time for another fun challenge at ABC Challenge! It is an easy one so no excuses . . . "U" is our letter and the challenge is  Unlimited. Anything goes! Our fabulous sponsor is Magnolia-licious.
I have always been a Tilda lover and lately I have been neglecting my Tilda's. So it was fun for me to be able to dust one off and use it in this fun challenge. Like Tilda I like to walk in the rain. I know that rain depresses some people but not me...I love it. I had some cute raindrop rhinestones and they fit the raindrops perfectly. I added a bit of glitter to the rain puddle for sparkle. I have yet to stamp the inside of my card but I will do this before I give it away.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Lizzie and the Rainmaker (Tanya Tucker)
You came riding in on the sunrise on a hot West Texas day
With a fancy man in a painted wagon with some fancy things to say
Looks like you folks need some water, well water is my game
And for the small price of a 100 dollars I bet you I could make it rain
Step back non-believers or the rain will never come
Someone start that fire burning, somebody beat the drum
He said some may think I'm crazy for making all these claims
But I swear before this day is over you folks are gonna see some rain
