Everybody loves somebody!

I usually hate making guy cards....they are such a struggle for me! But, I have to admit that this card was just too much fun. This little porcupine has such a fun look on his face and you can tell he thinks this cacti is the cutest! (OK, that is my take on it!). I used one of my favorite die cuts to frame it and then added a bit of twine. Just a fun, fast 'guy' card. You can find this cute image over at The Paper Shelter. You can also use this image for a latest challenge at The Paper Shelter "Animal Magic". It is going to be a great challenge to enter as you can win a $20 voucher and five will be awarded.  Please visit The Paper Shelter and check out all of their lovely images. There is something for everyone! Have a great day and take time to show some love to someone in a small way. It will make you feel better if you do!

All You Need Is Love

After making so many guy cards I just had to make a 'girly' card. It was so fun! LOL! This a new LOTV image I just got and I love it. I colored it with Copics and added liquid glass to the balloon. I also had added white dots to the balloon with a white gel pen, but they faded under the liquid glass. I made my own flowers, while they are not perfect I did have fun making them. Just a girly card that I hope you enjoy.

Fishy, fishy

I am afraid I have my pictures mixed up in this posting. I am not sure how I did that, but as the saying goes..."you get the picture'. This is another set of cards I made for the grandsons. I thought they were cute and since my grandsons like to fish and they like frogs I think they will like these cards.
Instead of a song I will share a little poem that has run through the Chapman family.
Fishy, fishy , in the brook
Daddy caught him on a hook,
Mommy fried him in a pan
And daddy ate him like a man!

Ahoy Matey!

My grandsons Skyped me today! Skype is a wonderful thing not as good as being there, but it is still great. My oldest grandson was not feeling so good. He wanted Grammy to know that he was sick and that he missed her. I miss them and always at times like this want them near so I can at least do something to help bring them comfort. I made these two cards for each of them. If you have followed my blog you know that I always make them the same card but make each one a bit different. That way they know which is theirs and that it was made special for them. I hope by the time Luke gets his card he will be feeling much better.
This is a cute new digi image I just got. It came as a set from Whimsy Stamps. There are three different images that come with the set and they are all adorable.  I colored this image with Copics and Chromatix markers. I added Liquid glass to the port hole windows. Just  a couple of fun cards for my grandsons!
My Song: Barnacle Bill The Sailor (the Original version!)
)"Who's that knocking at my door?"
Cried the fair young maiden.
"It's only me from over the sea", says Barnacle Bill the Sailor.
"I'm all lit up like a Christmas tree", says Barnacle Bill the Sailor.
"I'll sail the sea until I croak, I fight 'n swear 'n drink 'n smoke,
But I can't swim a bloody stroke", says Barnacle Bill the Sailor.

A Card For A Man

I have been laboring and I do mean laboring trying to make 'guy' cards. Why are they so hard for me. The minute I thing 'guy card' my brain goes in a panic and I suddenly have a total creative block. Really they shouldn't be so hard. But  this is one card I finally came up with. It is an old Stampin Up Stamp and I just basically 'swiped my Copics across the image. I did cut the fish out and pop it with some foam squares. The paper is pretty bright, but I felt it worked well with the image....even thought it might be flowers...if so they must be wild flowers. I framed the image with a Spellbinders die. ( I always use wax paper with this die as it always sticks.) I hope you enjoy my struggles. LOL....have a great Sunday!
OK...My Song....it is really old and I remember Roy Rogers singing it.....I am dating myself!
"Don't Fence Me In"
Oh, give me land, lots of land, under starry skies above
Don't fence me in
Let me ride thru the wide-open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evening breeze
Listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever, but I ask you please
Don't fence me in

Lost and Forgotten!

I recently cleaned my craft room and I do mean cleaned. I was able to donate three large boxes to a friend who wants to craft but financially is not able to do a lot. It was such a blessing for me to give her things I had duplicates of, excess of, and didn't use any longer. Lots of Stampin Up Stamps etc. Imagine my surprise when I came across a stack of cards I had made but set a side to take pictures of and having failed to do that they didn't get posted. I had honestly forgotten them  and so I thought I would post them over the next month. I hope some challenges come along that they will fit into. This is a cute little Mo Manning image and as I recall I was trying ever so hard to work on my highlights and shadows. It is of no comfort to me that I am still working on the same things, be it a dress or be it hair. LOL! I have a cute little girl at church who is having a birthday soon and I will give this card to her. I hope your Saturday was a good one. My DH and our fur baby and I took a nice long walk in the sunshine!
My Song: 10,000 Reasons (one of my favorite)
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

A New Kid in Town

I am really enjoying these new images I found at  http://www.etsy.com/shop/TimeforTeaDesigns, the artist is just starting out and she has some of the cutest images for cards. I think this one is a perfect birthday image. I used liquid glass on the balloon and it just pops off the card . I am still working on my hair coloring.....darn it is hard for me to make it look right. I guess practice makes perfect...right? I am assuming I am going to need lots of practice! Just a fun card to add to my birthday stash.....Please hop over and check out the digis in this store...there will be new ones added this week-end! Have a great Friday!
Here is the same image made into a different card!

Isn't she cute?
I will have to look for challenges after work today!
My Song (Blake Shelton) I know it is a Christmas song, but I like it!
We're looking for The King
The new Messiah
We're following the star
Shining brighter
Old man won't you help us if you can
He shook his head
But he pointed his hand
There's a new kid in town
And he's lying in a manger down the road
There's a new kid in town
But he's just another baby I suppose
Heaven knows
There's a new kid in town
Here in Bethlehem

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are filled with love and joy today. This is my card for my DH. We met when we were in Jr. High. I always thought he was the sweetest guy and I still do. So Happy valentines day Steve, I hope you know how much I love you. I have colored my Saturated Canary image with Copics and framed them with a Spellbinders die. Can tear me away from my guy

Like the birds of a feather
We stick together
I'm tellin' you from the start
I can't be torn apart from my guy

They Walked Around With A Toothy Grin

Sometimes you make a card that is just plain fun to do. I have to say this Valentine card for my grandson is one of those! He is five years old and doesn't like anything "mushy' but I think he might just like this one. (And it if from Grammy so he will be a bit more understanding!) It is time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter! It is so appropriate also..."Be My Valentine"! This is a new image called "Jurassic Love"! I colored these cuties with Copics. I added some liquid pearls and a pretty little heart ribbon. A couple of tag sentiments finished off my fun little card. I hope you will grab one of the new Paper Shelter images and play along with us this week. With a prize of $30 (if you use a Paper Shelter image) you can't go wrong. You may be our next big winner!  Don't forget to check out my DT pals cards they are wonderful! Blessings!

Give Me That Old Time Rock N Roll

This is one of the newer images from The Paper Shelter. I think she is the sauciest  little rockers! I know some teenagers who would love getting a card made with this image! I am still working on getting my hair colored right but I am hoping that practice makes perfect. I will take any pointers that any of you might want to share with me. My paper is a mix from several older tablets that have long ago lost their covers so I can't tell you where they are from. (Amanda did you notice I am practicing what you have taught me about paper?) Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! LOL! This is a card that I just made for fun. I hope you enjoy it and I hope your week is filled with blessings!'
I will try and find some challenges this will fit in!
My Song:
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by m'self
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll
Don't try to take me to a Disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In 10 minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll
Still like that old time rock and roll
The kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll

here's Where You Belong!

This card is definitely a different take for me. I wanted to use the dramatic black and white paper. I thought the paper fit the image so well.  The image is a new one from The Paper Shelter   she has the sweetest face. You can find her at the Paper Shelter Shop  I colored her with a combo of Copics, Twin Markers and Chromatix markers. All are alcohol inks! I rolled my roses out of felt and added a bit of Stickles and a pearl to the center. I also added Stickles to the mirror frame. Just a reminder, don't forget to get your entries in for the Design Team call at the Paper Shelter! You will love working with all their fabulous images! My Song: (The Grassroots)
You can change the mask you wear,
but not the way you feel inside.
Go bury your head into the sand,
but you can never hide.
Your mind
it is a battleground.
Your brain's a raging storm
Here's where you belong,
here's where you belong
don't let your fantasies take you away from me
here's where you belong

That Certain Little Lady

This is an older Tilda, just love her outfit! I wanted to play with paper and putting together different patterns, and sizes together. (See Amanda, I am trying to learn. I used a Spellbinders die to frame Tilda and then drew  around the die to add a boarder. If you look real close at the corner of the die you can see the Stickles I added for some bling.  I hope you like this card. I used a lot of green, which is not a normal color for me. I like the look and will be using more of it!  Happy Saturday everyone! We have sunshine today and March winds!
My Song: Herman's Hermits (Yep...going way back!)
Leaning on a lamp,
Maybe you think I look a tramp,
Or you may think I'm hanging 'round to steal a car.
But no, I'm not a crook,
And if you think that's what I look,
I'll tell you why I'm here
And what my motives are.
I'm leaning on a lamppost at the corner of the street,
In case a certain little lady comes by
Oh me, oh my,
I hope the little lady comes by.

Alone By My Window

I have had this cute Paper Shelter image colored for quiet some time, but have not had a chance to make a card with it. I decided it had been gathering dust much too long. So, this is my card with a dusty image! HA! My ribbon has cute little hearts that match the same color I used on her gown. I don't know why it looks so different in the photo. I used my Spica pens to add a bit of sparkle to her blowers, belt and head jewel. I added some cute little chip board swirls (loved how they sparkled) and rhinestones to finish off my card. I hope all of you on the east coast are safe and warm tonight. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I am going to have to look for some challenges for this one.
My Song: (Debbie Boone)
So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You've come along
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my  days
and fill my nights with song

Friends Are Friends Forever

One thing I have learned since I started this crazy world of blogging, is how many wonderful people there are around the world who craft. One of the first people to leave me a comment and become a follower was Elaine Livesey  she encouraged me and through the process we became friend. I vowed that I would watch for someone starting out new like me and encourage them. That is how I met Amanda. I told Elaine she should check her out and then they became friends. Through Elaine I met Shirley and the circle keeps growing. Each of the friends I have met through crafting have been such an encouragement to me. I am blessed by each of you. Recently my DT had a Secret Santa gift exchange and Cinzia Gava was my secret Santa. As often happens we had a bit of a problem as my gift didn't arrive. I had the sweetest e-mail from Cinzia and once again a new friend is made.  This image is one of the three lovely images I received from Cinzia. I thought she was so cute and this is one of those cards that I wish you could see in real live as it has so much sparkle!  Thank you Cinzia....I love all three stamps and will post the others soon. I hope I can keep on making friend world wide as each of you has blessed me in a special way!
My Song:  Friends Are Friends Forever
And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end
Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
