"Be True To Your School"

There's a new challenge in town....LOL..I think that sounds so funny! Anyway Krista Smith has started a new challenge it is a sketch challenge so check out http://saturatedcanarychallenge.blogspot.com/ and grab one of her cute images and make a card! This is my card for the challenge. I colored this cute digi with Copics. I used a boarder punch and added a 'pumpkin' ribbon. I added some pumpkin buttons and I have a cute little card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:http://saturatedcanarychallenge.blogspot.com/

The Song:
When some loud braggart tries to put me down
And says his school is great
I tell him right away
"Now what's the matter buddy
Ain't you heard of my school
It's number one in the state"

So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school

"Birthday WIshes"

OK....this is the last card. I just had to color this image from Krista Smith...yes, I am hooked on her images! LOL! I colored the image with Copics. I used a Magnolia die to cut out the flowers and rhinestone brads for the centers. I used a die for the leaves. I added a ticket sentiment to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
The Song:
I was born in the wagon of a travelin show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of Doctor Good!
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
Gypsies, tramps and thieves
But, every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down.

A Surprise .... my secret!

I just have been busting at the seams to tell everyone but I have been picked to serve on a wonderful design team! Yes, little ole me is going to play on the ABC Design Team. October 1 is the start of our new challenges and it will be so much fun with some great prizes and a special guest designer. We have so many talented ladies on the team.  You will be inspired to be creative with these challenges! Please visit my team members blogs and check out their lovely work! I hope I will see you all at the first challenge and who knows there may be a specail surprise for someone!

"Travel Trailer"

I had such a fun time making this card! As many of you know we bought a travel trailer this year and have had a wonderful time 'camping'. So, of course, I just had to use this image from Krista Smith. I followed the sketch at http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ it was the perfect sketch for this card. I colored the image with Copics and added some liquid glass to the windows and the hubs on the wheels. I embossed the base of my card with an embossing folder. I used a CM circle cutter to cut out my image and frame it. I left a small part of the image extending over the circle as I really like that look. I used a Cherrylynn die for the flowers and inked the edges. I added a brad to the center of each flower. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My song:
Trailer for sale or rent,
Rooms to let fifty cents,
No phone, no pool, no pets....

"Best Friends"

Those of us who are dog lovers will like using this cute image from LOTV. I colored the image with Copics. I used a CM circle cutter to cut and frame the image. I used a boarder stamp and added buttons to the center of each flower. I also added buttons to the swing and the seam binding bow. A ticket sentiment and some hand stitching finished off my fun little card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
The song:
I stand out of sight and watch as the light
From the sun shines through her hair
From yonder she came
I don't know her name
Still I love that girl on a swing
Girl on a swing, swing high
Girl on a swing, swing low
Take all the hate from the world that we are in
Girl on a swing, swing high
Girl on a swing, swing low
And you can cast all your troubles to the wind.

I hope each of you are able to cast your troubles to the wind! Blessings

"To You From Me"

I think I might have finally done it! I've over sparkled! LOL! I seemed to have got started and couldn't stop! This is another lovely image from Krista Smith. Isn't she the cutest? I colored her with Copics. I added Stickles to her skirt and the flower in her hair. I dug through the scrap box and found these sparkly papers. I thought they looked so pretty, but when I took my pictures I thought they might be a bit over the top! I added paper lace with a MS punch and added a SU sentiment.
The Song:
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hanging down
That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk
Makes the world go round
There ain't nothing in the world like a big eyed girl
That makes me act so funny, make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose
Like a girl, oh baby that's what I like

Mojo Monday and a Christmas Twist!

I know this image is not a Christmas image but I decided to make her one anyway. Yikes...Mojo has never been so hard for me! LOL! I colored the image with Copics and cut CM circle cutter. I distressed the edges and then framed it with a Spellbinders die. I added some little silver Christmas flowers and a Christmas ticket sentiment. I cut my snowflakes out with a Marianne die (thanks Elaine) and doubled them up with pop dots and then added a silver flower to the center. Just a simple little card that really was hard for me today! I am entering this card at the following challenges:
The song:
Take back the holly and mistletoe , silver bells on a string
If I wrote Santa a letter I would ask for just one thing
Don't need sleigh rides in the snow
Don't want a Christmas that's blue
Take back the tinsel, stockings, and bows
'Cause all I want for Christmas is you!

Ooops! Wrong Mojo!

I don't know what sketch I was looking at today, but it wasn't the MOJO Monday sketch! Oh, well, I wanted to make a card for my DH and I will recycle this one for our next anniversary....Ha...don't read this dear! This is two more images from Krista Smith...don't you just love her work? I do! I colored the images with Copics and added a Gerber daisy from WOC. The Sentiment was a freebie and sorry I don't know who to give credit for it. I thought it worked perfect for my card. My husband and I met in High School and we probably exchanged a few looks like this!
The song:
I was looking back to see if you were looking back to see
If I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me
You were cute as you could be standing looking back at me
And it was plain to see that I'd enjoy your company

"The North Pole"

Kenny K  has just released  his new Christmas images! Yes, it is time to get all those Christmas cards made! I just had to color up this cute snowman. He is such a happy looking guy! The 'North Pole' sign is from last years release and I thought the two images really worked well together. I used a snow embossing folder and embossed a shimmer white piece of paper. I then tore the paper for the snow and punched out icicles with a MS punch. I added chunky glitter to the base of the sign and the snow on it. I added fine glitter to the snowman and Stickles to his scarf and his coal buttons. I am hoping I didn't over do the sparkle! (Can you over do sparkle?) A Christmas ribbon and a Santa charm finished off this fun Christmas card. I hope you will join us this week at http://kennykkraftygirlzchallenges.blogspot.com/
and show us your Christmas creations with Kenny K's new images.....I can't wait to see what you come up with. Remember you must use a Kenny K image to win his a fabulous prize of 5 free digis! Oh, and how I wish I could play for the prize from Bearly Mine Designs ....2 Christmas paper digi packs and they are gorgeous!
The song....."Frosty The Snowman"
Frosty the snowman was a jolly, happy, soul
With a corncob pipe, a button nose and two eyes made out of coals.
(Do you remember who recorded this song?)

Just A Little Bit Scary!

I found these clear plastic boxes at The Paper Tree store. Since I am to far away for my grandsons to come by for a 'trick or treat', I decided to get these boxes and decorate them and fill them with goodies for the grandsons. I used a Creative Memories circle  cutter for the moon and sponged the edges with 'Real Mustard'.  I used a Sizzix cutter for Cherry Lynne die for the picket fence and the grass. I used a punch that I have had for years for the leaves. I used a stylus to curve the leaves. I colored the images with Copics. I added Liquid glass to the little boys glasses and wiggly eyes to the owl. A MS punch and a ribbon and of course some yummy candy finished off these Halloween boxes.
The song (it's the chorus)
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good ....
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Christmas Decorations!

I think I like this LOTV image so well because I LOVE to decorate for Christmas. Now the difference would be that my husband would not be helping me. He hates it. LOL! This is such a fun image to color. I used my Copics and then added some fine glitter to her hat and coat and a bit in the snow. (I do love that sparkle.) I used a die-namics die for the lace boarder and a snowflake embossing folder. I added a polk-a-dot ribbon. the snowflakes I cut with my Cricut and stained the edges. I layered the large ones and added turquoise rhinestones to the center. I used a MS boarder punch to add the icicles and then added snow with my crop-a-dile.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My song:
I'll have a blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear, if your not here with me.

"Fall Fairy"

I decided to use a Christmas fairy for a fall fairy. I had saw my dear friend Elaine had done this so I thought I would give it a try. I actually like it. I followed the sketch for the Sugar Bowl this week and also used fall colors. The DP is from My Minds Eye and DCWV stacks. I added some fine glitter to her wings and Viva glitter gel to her booties. The sunflowers are felt and three rhinestones finished off this card. Just a fun fall birthday card for a friend.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

The song:
Sugar in the morning,
Sugar in the evening,
Sugar at supper time,
Be my little sugar and love me all the time.

"Blueberry Fall?"

I spent so much time on this card and it doesn't look like it! I wanted it to be earthy, fall colors that flowed. I am not sure where I took a fork in the road, but somehow this just doesn't work! Then I got the brilliant idea to add 'earthy' flowers. (Do you think it was 'earthy' that threw me? LOL!  Oh, well, practice makes perfect. I used various dies to cut my flowers and added rhinestone brads to the centers. I used a Lifestyle oval die to cut and frame my Magnolia stamp. I used a Spellbinders die for the 'fret' work. In the center of my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

OK...the song is easy:
I found my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
On Blueberry Hill
When I found you!

"A New Blog In Town"

There's a new blog in town and they want to meet you! They are offering some fantastic candy to hop on over to http://riddersholmdesign.blogspot.com
and try (but not too hare 'cause I want to win this one!) to win some fantastic candy!

"Rain"

This is another Krista Smith image call "Rain". A great image to practice my shadows and highlights on. (I do wish I had printed her off a tad bit bigger). LOL! I used all scrap paper on this card. That is one of the reasons I decided to color her with the blue and green colors. She looks as if she might be a very practical girl. She is heading for a party but is bringing her umbrella and boots just in case! LOL! I added a lovely bow from seam binding....THANKS Amanda! The seam binding is green with some blue tints that went perfect with my card. I added a tiny mulberry rose and a bit of Stickles. Paper lace from a die-namics die  and rhinestones finished off my card.  Because the wind is blowing her hair this is my song for the day!

Way out west they got a name for rain and wind and fire
The rain is Tess, the fire is Joe, and they call the wind Mariah
Oh, no, Mariah blows the stars around and sends the clouds a-flying
Mariah makes the mountains sounds, like folks up there were dying
Mariah, Mariah, they call the wind Mariah

"If The Broom Fits"

I don't know which is cuter the little witch or the bat. This is a Sylvia Zet image and she is perfect for Halloween.  I followed the sketch at http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ each week they offer a sketch that you can 'dress' up or down. I think it is so much fun and like to see what I can do with the challenge. This week was pretty simple and so I MADE myself keep it that way. I don't know why I keep fussing with my cards, but I do! I colored this image with Copics. I added a little liquid glass to her watch and the necklace. I also added a little Spica pen to the stockings, jingle bell and the buckles. I cut the pumpkin out with a sizzix die and add some shading with my Copics. Just a fun little card.

Mojo Monday Is Back!

I was happy to see MOJO Monday was back today! I love playing with their sketches and it is always something to look forward to on a Monday! This is another image from Krista Smith check out her stamps because they are so much fun to color. The DP is from My Minds Eye. The ticket sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. The paper lace is a MS punch. I added ribbon and an angel charm, and a mini button to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My song for this card:
Only Sixteen by Dr. Hook (do you remember him Patti Sue?)
She was only sixteen
But I loved her so
But she was too young to fall in love
And I was too young to know!
(This is what happens when you spend your teen years falling to sleep with the radio on!) LOL!

"Little White Dove"

This is a perfect image for a thanksgiving card! It is the companion to the card posted in below. I colored the image with Copics and framed her with a Lifestyle die. I used a Die-namics die for the lace around the oval. I also used a Magnolia die  for the lace across the bottom. I added ribbon and tiny buttons to finish off this fun card. Hope your Monday was a great one!

"Indian Summer?"

Isn't this just the cutes little guy ever? He is another creation from Krista Smith . Krista is soon going to have a challenge blog and I  can't wait. I have always loved her stamps. I colored this image with Copics and framed both with Lifestyle dies. The dp is from My Minds Eye. I added ribbon, brads and some dew drops to finish off my card. A fun little Thanksgiving card for the grandsons.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My song for these cards and the card posted above this is:

On the bank of the river stood Running Bear, young Indian brave
On the other side of the river stood his lovely Indian maid
Little White Dove was her name, such a lovely sight to see
But their tribes fought with each other, so their love could never be.
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die.
(Am I the only one who remembers this song?)

"Your My Favorite!"

It's time for a new challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz and this week is such a fun one! "Your All Time Favorite"...that's right you get to pick your favorite Kenny K image. Now, if you are like me that took some thinking. I have my 'favorites' but it was hard to pick my 'favorite'. I finally decided on "Troublemaker". I wanted to make this card for my good friend Robin. We have been friends forever and have had lots of laughs over the years. Robin hates to watch scary movies and I love them. I can always make her shiver just by saying "I see dead people". So I wanted to send her a Halloween card and this is what I came up with. The paper is from last years fall pack and I have long since lost the cover so I can't tell you where it from. The  sentiments were both freebies....I don't seem to have any Halloween stamps...hmmm? I added a sheer ribbon, a copper butterfly charm, paper rose and three rhinestones to finish off my card. Happy Halloween Robin!
This week Kenny K is offering the winner 5 free digi's and the fabulous Michelles is offering a gift certificate.  I can't wait to see what your favorite is!
The Song.."Only You"
Only you can make the world seem right
Only you can make the darkness bright
Only you and you alone can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love for only you.....
(Can you guess who sang this one?)

"Happy Birthday!"

I wanted to make a 'fall' birthday card and this image from Krista Smith seemed just the ticket. I love her images and hope to see more of them. (And I hope more find a home with me!) I colored the image, I think she is called 'Kitty Love' with Copics and then cut her out and added some foam squares to pop her up on my card. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the frame behind her. A MS lace punch and a Spellbinders label for the SU sentiment. My flower is from my sweet friend Janie who is feeling terrible right now. Jaine you are in my prayers and I hope you are soon up and kicking! Just a fun little birthday card for my stash. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week-end! I am....the Boise State Broncos won their game last nigh! Yeah!

Oh, yes! The song for this one...
My love must be a kind of blind love
I can't see anyone but you.
Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
I Only Have Eyes For You, Dear.
The moon maybe high
but I can't see a thing in the sky,
'Cause I Only Have Eyes For You.

"A Pirate's Song"

I'll sing you a song, a good song of the sea
With a way, hey, blow the man down
And trust that you'll join in the chorus with me
Give me some time to blow the man down!
OK...this is my last song for the day! I had forgotten I had this little pirate Tilda and so I thought I would give it a color with my Copics.  I rummaged through my scrap box for the DP and added a bow and a charm. Just a fun little card that goes with my little ditty of a song! Have a wonderful Friday!

"The Monster Mash"

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash...the monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash, it caught on in a flash
He did the mash, the monster mash!
One more card with this cute image. I colored this image with Copics. I followed the sketch at http://stampfairychallenge.blogspot.com/This image is also from The Stamp Fairy. I think he is such a cute little guy...not sure if he wants to be out on a scary night. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

Love Potion #9

I took my troubles down to Madame Ruth
You know that gypsy with the gold capped tooth
She's got a pad down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
Sellin' little bottles of Love  Potion #9.
Since so many of you have commented about the songs I thought I would find a song for today. I think I used to stand in my bedroom and hold a hairbrush like a microphone and sing this song. LOL.. I am in love with the images from The Stamp Fairy. This little guy looks as if he might have just ran into Madame Ruth. I followed the sketch at http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ . This one was a bit difficult for me, I just couldn't get my head around it. So I used ribbon for the three bands. I hope you enjoy this  little halloween card. Blessings!

"Whoooo You Gonna Call?"

This is an image from The Stamp Fairy. I thought he was so cute and I had lots of fun playing with these two cards. Both cards I colored the images with Copics. The first card I cut a circle and used a Cherry Lynn Die for the fence and a the grass. I used a very old leaf punch for the leaves. I added Spica pen to the glasses and liquid glass. I also added wiggle eyes for the little owl. I added Stickles to the stars to finish off this card. The second card I used a SU oval punch to make my pumpkin. Just two more cards for the grand sons!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Feeling Frosty?"

This is an older Magnolia stamp, but I always enjoy using it. I grabbed paper from my scrap box to make this card. I used my CM circle cutter to frame my image. I colored the image with Copics. I added Stickles to the star, the roof on the lantern and glitter to snowman's hat. I added a rub on sentiment. Glitter snowflakes and a rhinestone hearts to finish of this Christmas card.

"God" Bless America

Take time today to remember and pray for those families that lost their loved ones and also for the survivors who lived. We also need to pray for our nation, our leaders and for the terrorist that want to destroy us.
I thank God today for how He has blessed this nation and how good we have it in this country.
  God Bless America!!!
May she forever remain the land of the free and the home of the brave!

"Pins & Pearls"

Challenge time at KKKG's! This week the challenge is 'Pins and Pearls'. This challenge is right up my alley! I chose the 'Club Kid' image this week. She is one of my favorites (I know! I say that all the time!) I colored the image with Copics. I framed the image with a Spellbinder's die. I embossed the die with a Cuttlebug brick embossing folder. I added paper lace with a MS punch. I added mulberry roses from WOC and used a McGill punch for the fern leaves. I added a gingham ribbon and pins and pearls. A metal 'love' sentiment and tiny pearl earring finished off my card. Please join us this week at http://kennykkraftygirlzchallenges.blogspot.com/ and check out the great entries my other DT members have created. They are fantastic. Another set of cards for my grand kids. I had lots of fun playing with this image and did a little merging also. I colored the image with Copics, dug out scrap bits of paper and added some cute spider and bat brads. The sentiment was a freebie and I think it is so cute! Just a coupe of fun cards for Halloween. Christmas Tilda?

I am not sure what this card needs, but it needs something! I am going to set it back for a bit and give it a think! I love the sketch which you can find at http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/ . This is not a Christmas image, but I decided to make it one. I colored the image with Copics and framed it with a circle cutter. I added snowflakes with my crop-a-dile and the added an additional mat with a Lifestyle die. The paper is all from my scrap box, as is the ribbon. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Witchy Woman"

Raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
she's a restless spirit on an endless flight
wooo hooo witchy woman, see how high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye!
Why does that song by the Eagles come to mind with this image? LOL! This cute little witch is a Sugar Nellie stamp and she just came flying into my home today. (Just in time for the Sugar Bowl's latest sketch challenge!) The DP is all from my scrap box....it has a never ending bottom. I colored the image with Copics and then cut it out and added some foam squares to pop it up. I used a circle cutter and framed the image. I used a snow embossing folder to make the bubbles that are drifting up over the moon. (Hey! It's my card so it's my story!) I added a little liquid glass to the heart on her hat. I also added Stickles to the cauldron to make her potion bubble. A pre-made sentiment finishes off my card.

"Frankly Dear.....it's been 40 years"

Today is my 40th wedding anniversary! Yep, me and my guy have been married that long! It has helped that I married my best friend and that he has always loved and supported me. So happy anniversary Steve, Maybe I will have a card made for the 50th! LOL! Now....on to my card!
Isn't this guy just the cutest? LOL! I love the Just Inklined images and the Halloween images are perfect for my grandsons. Not too scary and just right. I played around with my greens on this image and had fun...they may not be the perfect blend, but after all Frank is composed of different parts! My DP is from DCWV and this is a really nice stack with lots of variety. Just another fun card to send to the grandsons. I hope you are getting  your Halloween cards made and off to the special little (or big) people in your life. Have a blessed day!

Third Time Is A Charm?

Have you ever had one of those days when you think...I should just put away my Copics and clean house? Well, today was one of those days. I started off with this lovely digi image that you can find here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SaturatedCanaryDigis
I love this digi and couldn't wait to ink it up. So, I decided I would follow the sketch at http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com I have played in this challenge since I started blogging and love following their sketches. After putting my first card together I noticed I had the sketch backwards. No, problem I had another digi to work with! Card #2! I decided to make a non-traditions Christmas card. When I went to assemble my card I discovered I had cut my paper to short! Once again my sketch was off. To top it off I dropped my marker (check out over her left eye). GRRRR. On to card #3! Success at last. I have the sketch right, no major ink problems. So, I am entering this card at the following challenges:
Oh, and by the way, I still haven't got the house cleaned!

Happy Labor Day!

I had a good paper play yesterday and created this little card. I am loving this cute little screen door die. You can find it here: http://dutchpapercrafts.blogspot.com/ . It even comes with its own screen! I used a wood grain paper on the door and also on the background paper. I used a darker brown Copic  to make the 'foundation' on my house. I didn't have and stamps of steps that were large enough, so I drew my own on grey card stock and colored them with Copics. I also did not have a grass punch....my goodness I didn't know I was lacking so many things! LOL! I just hand cut my grass but I would love to have a grass die. I stamped, colored, and cut out my cute little Magnolia and popped her on the Step with dimensional foam.A fall wreath sticker finished off my fun little card. What do you think? I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day. Blessings!
