Witchy Woman

My Song: Witchy Woman (Eagles)
Raven hair and ruby lips
Sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
She's a restless spirit on an endless flight
Wooo hooo witchy woman see how
High she flies
Woo hoo witchy woman she got
The moon in her eye
She held me spellbound in the night
Dancing shadows and firelight
Crazy laughter in another
Room and she drove herself to madness
With a silver spoon
Woo hoo witchy woman see how high she flies
Woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye
Well I know you want a lover,
Let me tell your brother, she's been sleeping
In the Devil's bed.
And there's some rumors going round
Someone's underground
She can rock you in the nighttime
'Til your skin turns red
Woo hoo witchy woman
See how high she flies
Woo hoo witchy woman
She got the moon in her eye

That's Not A Mommy!

The  inside of my card!

This is my last Halloween Card! It is for my youngest grandson Lincoln. The digi stamp is from Lemon Shortbread. It is called Mummy trick-or-treat. Lincoln will be three in January. He asked me what this was and I told him it was a 'mummy' he said, "that's not a mommy!" It made me laugh and I thought you might enjoy this story.
I colored the image with Copics and then fussy cut it and mounted it on my card with foam squares. I added some Nuvo Glitter glue for stars in the black background. It really sparkles and adds so much dimension. I framed the stamp with a die cut waste piece. It worked perfectly with this stamp and I just softened the card stock a bit so I could manipulate it around the stamped image. I added some fine wire for the pumpkin handle. A bit of ribbon added a bit of extra color and pop to the card. I also added some 'google eyes' to the little mummy peeking around the costume plaque. I cut the mummy head out of the DP and just popped it up with foam squares. the sentiment is from a stamp set I bought in a $1.00 bin and I colored in the letters.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Curse (Josh Ritter)
He opens his eyes, falls in love at first sight
With the girl in the doorway
What beautiful lines, how full of life
After thousands of years what a face to wake up to
He holds back a sigh as she touches his arm
She dusts off the bed where till now he's been sleeping
Under miles of stone, the dried fig of his heart
Under scarab and bone starts back to its beating
She carries him home in a beautiful boat
He watches the sea from a porthole in stowage
He can hear all she says as she sits by his bed
Then one day his lips answer her in her own language

The Scare Is On!

This card is for my middle grandson Logan. Logan is such a bubbly, funny, guy. He makes us laugh with is wacky sense of humor and his willingness to act silly to make someone laugh. He decided that during the month of October he and I were going to see who could scare each other. He is always sneaking up on me and yelling 'BOO'. I will admit I have got him a few times also. So this card will surely make him laugh.
The fun stamp is form Boogle. This is a new artist for me and I like that it is a bit different from the norm. The left inside of my card is stamped with stamps that I got from the $1.00 store. I just hand wrote the sentiment on the right inside. I added liquid glass to the spider and it really popped it. The orange beads on the side are pony beads I melted in my oven. The Boo on the front (which blends in more than I would like is brad.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Thriller (Michael Jackson)
It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking
In the dark
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops
Your heart
You try to scream, but terror takes the sound before
You make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between
The eyes
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to
Strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer
Thriller tonight

The Monster Mash!

 Inside of my card!
The Halloween season is upon us. We really don't make a big production at our house about Halloween. But, we do hand out candy and I try to make cards for the grandsons, and some special treats for them. This card is for my oldest grandson Luke. He is growing so fast and is already just about taller than his grammy. He has brought me such love and joy and I am so proud of him.  I have teased him dancing the 'monster mash' and telling him that I will perform it at the middle school where he attends. (He thinks I am not serious but might just be a bit nervous about it!) LOL!
I used an old stamp for this card, colored it with Copics, fussy cut it and then popped it with foam squares. I die cut the "Halloween" letters and placed them over a gold foil piece I had. I also cut the moon out of the same gold foil. The DP is from Oriental Trading ( I use their paper for cards but not for scrapbooking!) The inside of the card I used another gold foil moon and added some google eye bat brads, also from OT. The sentiment comes from a $1.00 bin at Joann's.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Monster Mash (what else?) by Bobbie Pickett
I was working in the lab, late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab, began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash, he did the monster mash
The monster mash, it was a graveyard smash
He did the mash, it caught on in a flash
He did the mash, he did the monster mash
From my laboratory in the castle east
To the master bedroom where the vampires feast
The ghouls all came from their humble abodes
To get a jolt from my electrodes
They did the mash, they did the monster mash
The monster mash, it was a graveyard smash
They did the mash, it caught on in a flash
They did the mash, they did the monster mash
The zombies were having fun
The party had just begun
The guests included Wolfman,
Dracula, and his son
The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, 'The Crypt-Kicker Five'
They played the mash, they played the monster mash
The monster mash, it was a graveyard smash
They played the mash, it caught on in a flash
They played the mash, they played the monster mash

"Egg"stra Special!

I used a SC image that was an Easter image and I just changed out the eggs. The inside is an older Stampin' Up stamp. Just a fun quick card for a Tuesday  morning. It will go to a friend of mine who is raising chickens and always giving away eggs!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: King of The World (Natalie Grant)
I tried to fit you in the walls inside my mind
I try to keep you safely in between the lines
I try to put you in the box that I've designed
I try to pull you down so we are eye to eye
When did I forget that you've always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you're the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you've always been the king of the world
Just a whisper of your voice can tame the seas
So who am I to try to take the lead
Still I run ahead and think I'm strong enough
When you're the one who made me from the dust
When did I forget that you've always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you're the one who holds it all
When did I forget that you've always been the king of the world
Oh, you set it all in motion
Every single moment
You brought it all to me
And you're holding on to me
When did I forget that you've always been the king of the world?
I try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
How could I make you so small
When you're the one who holds it all
When did I forget you've always been the king of the world
You will always be the king of the world

Christmas Is Coming!

It seems impossible but the Christmas season will soon be upon us! I decided I best get my Christmas cards ready so I wouldn't be scrambling at the last minute! This cute stamp is from Connie Fong! She does has some of the cutest stamps and I love coloring them. I for one like the 'big eye' stamps and think they add to the cards appeal. I believe there is a saying about "the eyes are the window to the soul".  Any way this is one of the many I will be doing before Christmas gets here! How about you are you ready for Christmas? Thanksgiving? Halloween? LOL!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Santa Claus is Coming to Town
You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

Angels In Heaven

As I made this card I could not help but think of my SIL who passed away 4 months ago with Cancer. It has been a hard time of adjustment for my brother. He not only lost his wife but his best friend. Ruth Ann, like me loved Christmas and this cute stamp from Connie Fong,
reminded me of Christmas and Ruth Ann's decorations. I hope each of you will take time to tell someone you love how much they mean to you and enjoy the time you have with them.
I had such a fun time coloring this cute image and I know you will see more of her in the future. The pretty Christmas paper is from last years stash and seemed to work perfectly with this stamp. The  pretty die cut is by Yovonne. I am loving all of her dies and hope Santa slips a few in my stocking this year.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Jealous of the Angels (Donna Taggart)
I didn't know today would be our last Or that I'd have to say goodbye to you so fast I'm so numb, I can't feel anymore
Prayin' you'd just walk back through that door And tell me that I was only dreamin' You're not really gone as long as I believe There will be another angel Around the throne tonight Your love lives on inside of me, And I will hold on tight It's not my place to question, Only God knows why I'm just jealous of the angels Around the throne tonight You always made my troubles feel so small And you were always there to catch me when I'd fall In a world where heroes come and go Well God just took the only one I know So I'll hold you as close as I can Longing for the day, when I see your face again But until then God must need another angel Around the throne tonight Your love lives on inside of me And I will hold on tight It's not my place to question Only God knows why I'm just jealous of the angels Around the throne tonight Singin' hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah I'm just jealous of the angels Around the throne tonight

There's A Chill In The Air!

I have been making a few Christmas ornaments. I plan to give them as little gifts to special people who throughout the year have blessed my life in some way. I have had so much fun deciding what stamp to put on each ornament so it will be special for the person receiving it. This is my first attempt at these type of ornaments and I really have been please how they have turned out. I bought the blank porcelain ornaments at Hobby Lobby (OK they were bought last year)  and colored them with my Copics. The Copics do not blend as well on the porcelain but they do look pretty if I take my time with each stamped image. I hope you enjoy these ornaments that I will be posting from time to time!
I am entering this ornament  at the following challenges:

My Song: My Favorite Things
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
these are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
silver white winters that melt into springs,
these are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad.

Spooky!

A closer look at "Incantation"
My cute little die cut kitty!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Good-morning everyone. Are you ready for all the little ghosts and goblins to come to your door? Halloween is not a big holiday at our house, but the grand-kids do trick-or-treat in the neighborhood. So, I am hoping the new challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER will get me in the 'spirit' for fun. Our challenge is 'Halloween'. We want to see your Halloween creations. I have used the lovely "Incantation"  image and you can find her here.  Remember if you use a digi from The Paper Shelter you could win $30 to spend in their store!
I am entering this card a the following challenges:

My Song: Love Potion Number 9 (The Searchers)
I took my troubles down to Madame Ruth
You know that gypsy with the gold-capped tooth
She's got a pad down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
Selling little bottles of love potion number nine
I told her that I was a flop with chics
I've been this way since 1956
She looked at my palm and she made a magic sign
She said "What you need is love potion number nine"
She bent down and turned around and gave me a wink
She said "I'm gonna make it up right here in the sink"
It smelled like turpentine, it looked like Indian ink
I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink
I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissing everything in sight
But when I kissed a cop down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine
I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink
I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissing everything in sight
But when I kissed a cop down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine
Love potion number nine

Red, Ribbon & Reindeer!

Sometimes you just have to have fun with a card, even if it looks silly! I think that is what this reindeer is...silly! I used a Cottage Cut die and foam dots to pop his various body parts up! Some silly eyes and a red nose finished him off! Our challenge at ABC Challenge is for the letter "R" for RED, RIBBON, AND REINDEER!  We will need to see all three on your card to be eligible to win our challenge! Our lovely sponsor is Live & Love Crafts! This shop is stocked full of some of the nicest embellishments and lovely papers also! The cute little reindeer charm can be found there along with the pretty ribbon! So check them out and then make that cute card with the three "R's" included.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (Gene Autry)
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
"Rudolph, with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
You'll go down in history"

Warm and Snug!

 Another look at the card!
 A closer look!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Have you ever labored over coloring a digi stamp and finally reached the point you are happy with it only to mount it on DP that is busy and you lose the impact of the stamp? That is how I feel with this lovely stamp from The Paper Shelter called

Greet Each day With A Smile!

A closer look at the stamp from Kenny K!
 A wooden bicycle embellishment!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Sometimes I like to go back to some of my older stamps and play with them again. This stamp from Kenny K has always been a favorite. I had a cute wooden bicycle that I thought would look cute with this stamp and I used kraft paper as my base and accent for this card. I also merged the the background stamp and the Kenny K stamp to create this scene. I used my trusty Copics to color this image.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: How Can It Be (Lauren Daigle)
I am guilty
Ashamed of what I've done, what I've become
These hands are dirty
I dare not lift them up to the Holy one
You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be
How can it be

Brighter Days Ahead

A closer look at the image.
The inside of my card!
I love "Wee" stamps. They are so fun and always bring a smile to my face. That is exactly what I want this card to do. I am sending it to a dear friend who has suffered a devastating loss in her family. Today, take time to let your children and grandchildren know just how much you love them. We never know what demons they might be facing. Perhaps, you are the only lifeline they have at the moment.
I think it was therapeutic for me to make it. After coloring it I had the daunting (for me) task of picking the perfect papers. I really wanted to pop the green and lavender colors that I used on the fairy and I think I accomplished this with this choice of cardstock. the pretty heart paper was a scrap piece in my basket that worked perfectly with this card. It also picked up the berries on this image.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: If I Had Only Known (Reba McIntire)
If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
I'd keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a life line to my heart
Underneath the thunder we'd be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain
If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again
I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again
You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away
If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when you'd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you know my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I would've shown
If I had only known

One Child

It has been a rough week for me. A dear friend of mine just lost her grandson. He chose to end his life and it has devastated the family.   It was so hard for me to find words that could bring comfort to my friend. I can only imagine what she must be going through and I marveled at the strength she shown. I hope each of you will take time to let those you love know how much they mean to you. Tomorrow is not promised and today may be all you have.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: One Child One Day (Reba McEntire)
Three wise men, a shining star
A mother and a father who had come so far
How could they know about their son
And the miracle He'd become
That He held the soul of man
In His tiny little hands
One child one day
And the universe will never be the same
From Bethlehem
And the Angels' voices rejoicing in His name
Oh and I believe with all my heart
That He will show the way
And you and I will meet
One child one day
