A Little Bit Country

 Another look!
 A closer look!
 The inside of my card!
 A fun image to color!
This is one of my practice cards. I am taking the Skin and Hair class at Kit and Clowder and I have been practicing my 'skin' coloring. Just so you will know....I have not advanced on to the hair class yet so please don't judge the classes by this card. I did have fun coloring this one and I tried a new color combination on the hair. The image is from Saturated Canary. I am particularly proud of having created a nose on the image with color. I am learning but it is a very slow process! LOL! I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks....it just takes longer!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:

I love you please believe me I wouldn't want you to ever leave me
But I was raised on country sunshine
I was raised on country sunshine green grass beneath my feet
Runnin' through fields of daisies a wadin' through the creek
You love me and it's invitin' to go where life is more excitin'
But I was raised on country sunshine
I was raised on country sunshine I'm happy with the simple things
A Saturday night dance a picture show and the joy that the bluebird brings
I love you please believe me I wouldn't want you to ever leave me
But I was raised on country sunshine

Happy 1ST Birthday Lincoln!

 A Closer Look
A look at the pennant!
Today is our youngest grandson's 1st Birthday! Time has gone so fast and I think each of us have cherished each moment of this baby's life. He is our last grandbaby and we know what a precious gift he is. He makes each of us laugh with his antics and he warms our hearts with his smiles and when he reaches his little arms out to us our hearts melt. We are truly blessed to have three grandsons and we will  always be grateful for the blessings we have been given. So Happy Birthday Lincoln! I hope your day is a happy one and I hope you will always know how much you are loved.

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....

A Card from Luke

Hi! Everyone in blogland. My name is Luke and I am 9 years old. My Grammy has a craft room and I get to play in it when I come and visit her. She has been teaching me how to make cards. I worked on this card for two hours and I picked everything out. I also got to color with my Grammy's Copic markers. The image I used is a Mo Manning image and I got to use Stickles on my card. (They are my favorite)! I hope you like my card and you will comment on this post. My Grammy is helping me enter this card in the following challenges: (I hope I win!) Have a nice day. Luke

"All Wrapped Up"

A closer look at my fun image!
The insie of my card!
One more look at my card!
January is almost over and it is time for another challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER!  The challenge is "All Wrapped Up". Now, you can interpret this in many ways. You can use an image that is all wrapped up in winter clothing, or packages all wrapped up, or maybe like I chose "Christmas is all Wrapped Up". Lot's of options and I can't wait to see how you interpret this! Please hop over to THE PAPER SHELTER  and check out the lovely images you can choose from for this challenge. I am using "The Most Adorable Snowman" an it really is an adorable image. I colored the image with Copics and added some chunky glitter to the snow and the Santa snowman's hat. My paper came from the 'scrap box' which is getting deeper all the time. I would love to know how all of you deal with your 'scraps'. I am a bit of a paper hoarder and hate to waste any of it. LOL!
Have a great day filled with blessings and please join us for a fun challenge!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Do You Want To Build A Snowman? (Frozen)
Anna:
Elsa?
(Knocking: Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock)
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away-
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why!-
Do you wanna build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman.

That's Amorie!

I hope this card brings a smile to your face. From the first time I saw this image I have smiled every time I see it. I needed a 'guy' card and I thought of this cute guy. He is so fun to color and would be appropriate for all ages! I kept the card simple as I wanted the image to be the focal point. You can find this cute guy at THE PAPER SHELTER. I used two of my favorite items on this card, Stickles for sparkle and Twine!

My Song: That's Amorie
In Napoli where love is king
When boy meets girl
Here's what they sing
When the moon hits your eye
Like a big pizza pie, that's Amorie
When the world seems to shine
Like you've had too much wine, that's Amorie!

Happy Birthday Day Buddy!

I have several new images to color up. This is one of them. Isn't she lovely? I had such a fun time coloring her and just relaxed and enjoyed the time I spent coloring. I then matted her and fussy cut the bottom edge to pop her out. The sentiment is a freebie and I loved it. This card is going to my younger brother for his birthday. I know it is not a typical 'guy' card, but he is in need of prayers because of serious physical illnesses. He has "restrictive lung disease" and each day is a struggle for him. Since we live at opposite ends of the country (he in Georgia and I in Idaho) we seldom see each other. I wanted him to know that not only am I sending him birthday greetings but that I am praying for him daily. Happy Birthday Buddy and know I love and miss you.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song:  Hallelujah
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Buttons and Bows!

A closer look at the image.
 The sentiment...

 Another look!
We are half way through our first month of 2015! Time flies by so fast and 2015 seems to be no exception. It is time for a fun challenge at ABC Challenge.  Our letter is the letter "B" and you are to use both Buttons and Bows on your creations. Remember you must use BOTH! Our lovely sponsor is Pink Gem Designs. They have some lovely images and this one is "Posh Poppie" just click on the link and you will find her. She was perfect for our challenge with all her pretty bows. I added the tiny buttons and the big heart ones on the side. A pretty pink gingham ribbon and bow finish off my card. I hope you will join us this week for a fun little challenge.
I am entering this card at the following  challenges:

My Song: Dinah Shore
East is east and west is west
And the wrong one I have chose
Let's go where I'll keep on wearin'
Those frills and flowers and buttons and bows
Rings and things and buttons and bows
Don't bury me in this prairie
Take me where the cement grows
Let's move down to some big town
Where they love a gal by the cut o' her clothes
And I'll stand out
In buttons and bows

This Is For Susie!

 A closer look!
 The inside of the card!
I recently visited by extended family in Missouri. My cousin Susie lives there and she is a hairdresser. She is also the sweetest, funniest, lady I know. She is very sassy and outspoken, but she also has a heart of gold and I love her dearly. I wanted to send her a card to encourage her as she is a constant helper for my uncle as he cares for my aunt who has M.S. She even dresses like this cute image! LOL! She also is a great supporter of animals, so the cat that is included with this image is perfect. You can find this image at THE PAPER SHELTER she is called Oh, my!
I fussy cut my image and then separated the girl and the pouty cat!  Some lovely rhinestones added sparkle to the crown. Pretty flowers added interest to the the card as do the half pearls. A ticket sentiment finish of this fun card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Carrie Underwood
He said, "I've been where you've been before.
Down every hallway's a slamming door."
No way out, no one to come and save me
Wasting a life that the Good Lord gave me
Then somebody said what I'm saying to you
Opened my eyes and told me the truth."
They said, "Just a little faith, it'll all get better."
So I followed that preacher man down to the river
And now I'm changed
And now I'm stronger

"Winter Blues"?

 A closer look!
 My pretty flower!
 The inside of my card!

Happy January 2015 to all my blogging friends! I hope you have all your Christmas decorations put away and are ready to start a new year! The Paper Shelter has some fun things in store for you this year and you are going to want to play along with all of our challenges. Be sure and check out our store here. New images are added each week and they just get lovelier each week. Our challenge this week is Winter Blues! We want to see blue and more blue on  your entries. You can use any shade or shades of blue but it must be the predominate color. I have chosen "CosyWinter Wishes" for my blue card. Isn't she just the cutest? I know you will see more cards with this image as she is a new favorite of mine.
I have had this paper in my stash for a long, long time and I can not tell you where I got it. But it was perfect for this card. My flower is one of the last from a gift box from a dear blogger friend Glenda Brook she makes prettier flowers than I can grow. I have hoarded this box for so long and only give them on a card to very special friends. I am sure you will agree that this flower is lovely. I added a few flat back rhinestones for some bling and a pretty sheer blue bow. The sentiments are old ones that I have had forever but they worked perfect for this card. So kick your "winter blues" and join us at THE PAPER SHELTER! for a fun start to 2015!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Blue
Blue, oh, so lonesome for you
Why can't you be blue over me?
Blue, oh, so lonesome for you
Tears fill my eyes till I can't see
3 o' clock in the morning, here am I
Sitting here so lonely, so lonesome, I could cry
Blue, oh, so lonesome for you
Why can't you be blue over me?

"A Cuddle Makes It Better"

Image provided by: All Dressed Up
A closer look!

 My Card!
The inside of my card!

Good-morning everyone and a very Happy New Year! I am finding it hard to believe that we are already starting a new year as 2014 flew by with the speed of lightening. I know that I am not alone in feeling this way.
We are starting the new year with a fun challenge from ABC Challenge! Our lovely sponsor is "All Dressed Up". You must take time to hop over to their Etsy shop and look at all the darling images they have to offer.  I chose this cute image called "A Cuddle Makes It Better". Having just returned from a long trip to visit my younger brother this image describes my homecoming with our dog, (a yellow lab) Shelia. My younger brother is very ill and while I enjoyed every minute of our visit it was hard to say good-bye and not know if this would be the last time I would see him. So, arriving home to my loving family and being greeted by our sweet Shelia, a cuddle with all made me feel better.
I hope all of you are enjoying a very happy start to the new year 2015! If not take time to cuddle someone you love! Also, please join us at ABC Challenge for the letter "A" and Anything Goes so you can do 'anything' for our challenge! Happy New Year!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
