Music And Dance

Our challenge at The Paper Shelter (in case you haven't checked) is Music and Dance. I hope you will play along with us and show us your music and dance cards. I used "The Saxophonist" for my card, you can find him here! As usual you can win a fabulous prize. So, join the fun and you might be the next winner!

Animals/Pets ***

It's time for a fun challenge at The Paper Shelter! This is one that is near and dear to my heart "Animals/Pets". We lost both of our yellow labs within one year and it was heartbreaking for us. Each brought such love and unique personalities to our home. They both were so funny and loving that we will feel their loss for a long time. I pray for all the people in California, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon and else where that are struggling with the devastation fires. I am also heartbroken from the loss of animals because of the raging fires. I was raised in a logging, sawmill town and have seen true forest management swept aside by the Sierra Club! These out of control fires are due to their interference in a lifestyle and forest management practices they don't understand.  OK....I will get off my soap box and ask all of you to join our fun challenge and show us your pets and/or animals. I chose "A Beautiful Day" stamp for my card. just love that cute stamp! I had this cute paw print paper in my stash and added some grass and flowers to my card!

Two are attending school every other day and then doing virtual school on off days. The youngest is going every day. All of this may change depending on how the Covid virus plays out. I am so ready for all the Covid mess to be over and all of us able to get back to our 'normal' routine!  At least things are the same at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog! It is time for a "Back To School" challenge. Show us your back to school cards! I chose "Ready for School" for my cards. I wanted to send two cards and so I just changed the colors a bit and made two with this same image! I am entering these cards in the following challenges:

I trid to make the sunlight with deeper colors and the bottom one is more muted.  It was a fun card to make and hopefully will brighten someone's day.  The stamp I used is called Hammock Days!

A Shaped Card

The inside of my card!

It is time for another fun Challenge at The Paper Shelter! This week we want to see your "Shaped" cards! No squares or rectangles please.  Those who know me well know that I don't do well with shaped cards. I just can't seem to get the hang of it! There is always something a bit 'wonky' about my shaped cards. I worked and worked to interlace this die cut to make a oval card. I hope you enjoy it because I will NEVER, EVER, make another one! LOL! I used the lovely "Little Flower Lady"! She is one of the newer digi stamps in the shop and I love her. I can see so many uses for this one. I hope you will go check her some of our new digi stamps out! There are so many new stamps and all are appropriate  for anyone!  I hope each of you will remain healthy and safe during this virus. Every Dog Deserves A home!

My husband and I had a yellow lab/golden retriever dog. We got her on the day she was to be put down at the Humane Society. She was one year old and it just took her a few hours to win our hearts. She became such an important part of our family and kept us endlessly amused with her silly antics. She was a sweet dog and we always laughed that she would lick an intruder to death. We lost her a few years back. Time was her only enemy. We decided we were not going to replace her but she left an empty place in our hearts. I love this digi stamp with the cute puppy and the beautiful girl. I hope you all will love your pets and treat them as an important part of your family.

Put On Your Easter Bonnet

Growing up Easter was always a time for putting on new clothes for church. My mom made my Easter dresses, and I would always get a 'bonnet' with flowers and frills. My greatest joy was the year I got lace gloves to wear. I love the memories I have of those special times. I am grateful for the parents I had and I miss them each special holiday.
I chose this darling stamp from The Paper Shelter she is called Romantica  and you can purchase her by clicking on the link! Also, it is time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge blog. We want to see Easter cards.

Let It Be Spring!

 A closer look!
Is anyone ready for spring? I am looking forward to having doors and windows open and letting in fresh air. We have had a mild winter, no snow and really none of the freezing cold that usually hits us in the Rocky Mountains but it has been mild. Every spring in our little town we see a few people zipping around on scooters enjoying the weather. At The Paper Shelter we are asking you to make a "Let It Be Spring" card for our challenge. Show us your spring ideas! I am using Just Roll With It for my card and you can click on the link to find her. Love how she is all decked out but still adding a few items for warmth! I can't wait to see what fun ideas you come up with.

For the One You Love

 A closer look!
Good Morning fellow crafters. Today is a special day, it would have been my dad's birthday. I always miss him so much on these days. He was the one who taught me to love and care for animals. He would always say you could tell the heart of a man by the way he treated his animals.
Today is also the start of a new challenge for The Paper Shelter. This week we want to see your creation "For The One You Love"! To honor my dad I chose "My Favorite Vet/Pet". I think it takes a special love for animals to be able to help them when they are hurt. Don't you? I hope you will join the fun at our challenge and show us your love!

New Beginnings!

Before I get into the details of my card I want to invite everyone to join our challenge at The Paper Shelter! Our theme this week is "New Beginnings"! I know some may be asking how this is new beginnings! But, I  passed some girls at a bus stop the other day and I had to smile at how different they were dressed but all were laughing and talking so it was nice to see. I am sure most had on "new" Christmas presents and were decked out to start a new semester at school, so this is why I merged three stamps for one card. I also drew in the brick wall and wood flooring to try and create a scene that you might  find in the hallway at school.  I used the following stamps going  from left to right: "Rosie", "Cool Student",  and"Megan"! You can click on each of the links to be taken to each of these cute digi stamps!

 A closer look!
Merry Christmas to all! I hope everyone is ready for the big day and that you have the true spirit of Christmas! This is the last challenge for the year for The Paper Shelter! Be sure and join in as there is truly a fabulous prize to be had. I have chosen the oh so cute "A Cheerful Snowman" to make a Christmas ornament with! You can find him by clicking on the link! I had some metal discs and wanted to use them for Christmas ornaments. I printed my digi and then cut it out with a stitched circle. After coloring with copics, I added pearl drops for the snow falling, liquid glass to the nose and coal, a Christmas bow and finally some glitter to add a little sparkle! Which the lights on my tree pick up so it looks so pretty! Don't you love that you can use these digi's for so many things? I do and will be making more ornaments in the future with digi stamps from The Paper Shelter!  May each of you have a "Christ" mas filled with our greatest gift, Jesus!  Merry Christmas to all and see you next year!

A "Wee" bit of Christmas!

It seems every year I get behind on my Christmas cards and I need to keep working on them! This is one of my favorite "Wee" Stamps. I love this artist's work and always look forward to the new stamps when they come out. I added some wooden snowflakes and topped those with a little red rhinestone. My camera (or perhaps the photographer) can't seem to capture the sparkle on my cards. It is there and you just have to look a bit closer. I also used a bit of puffy paint for the snow falling. Another card to add to my Christmas Stash!

Good Morning fellow crafters and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop

I have chosen the lovely "Heart of Christmas" for my card! This is such a versatile image and can be used for many occasions. I colored my image with Copics and fussy cut it out. My paper came from the neverending scrap box. I used a sparkle pen for the little snowflakes and Liquid Glass for the ice cycles hanging on the branches. and the pretty heart she is holding. My photography skills do not show how the heart is popping  and is so shiny! I added a pre-made flower and glittered letters for the Happy Birthday Sentiment! Tis The Season!

Good Morning Everyone! Are you all busy getting those Christmas cards made to send out. It seems like I always need just one more! It is also time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter. Our theme this time is . . . . "A Christmas Card"! So no excuses for not adding to your Christmas card stash!

I chose the darling image "Full of Hope" for my Christmas Card. I drew in the wood floor to create more of a scene. I added a few stickles to the fire to make it look as if the  wood was popping. I cut my sentiment out and attached it to a stitched circle. A tiny bow and some rhinestones finished off my card. Now to get a letter written and post this in the mail. I hope you will join the fun and maybe you will be the next winner of a great prize!

Punches and Dies

A closer look!

Is everyone ready for fall? I have to admit it is my favorite time of year.
So, as we want and need rain in my neck of the woods I chose this lovely stamp from The Paper Shelter! She is called "The Sun Is In My Heart"! Isn't she adorable? You can find her here. Also, some of you may recognize her from a coloring class at Kit and Clowder. I loved this class and I just need to get the time to take more of the classes. If you have never taken a class from Kit and Clowder you are really missing out! The Paper Shelter is one of the great companies that support these classes with their beautiful stamps!  The time has come for another great challenge at The Paper Shelter. This should be an easy one for you, it is "Punches and Dies". I have to admit I love using both but often lean to the dies. I have a very small craft room and it helps me with storage to be able to use dies. I am excited to see your lovely punches and dies. (Just in case I am missing some!) LOL! So get busy  and join the fun
