Batting a little Love?

A closer look at the image!
Another look at the card.

The inside of my card!

Just a quick post today as I am baby sitting the grandsons today.  I wanted to share this card I made with a Sheri Baldy image. This is a fun little image to color. I am still trying to perfect my braid coloring. I can see it will take lots more practice. Actually, I could stand a little practice braiding hair. It has been a long time since I have braided a little girls hair.  The DP is actually  fabric. It was from a paper tablet and the DP (fabric) has a sticky back, so you just peel and stick. Love those easy shortcuts. I love the feel of this fabric on the card. Some pretty little dragon flies and a couple of puffy hearts finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Cheap Seats (Alabama)
This town ain't big
this town ain't small
It's a little of both they say
Our ball club may be minor league
but at least it's Triple-A
We sit below the Marlboro man
Above the right field wall
We do the wave all by our self
Hey ump, a blind man could've made that call

"Just Because I Care"

A closer look at the image.

The  sentiment.
The inside of my card.
I had so much fun with this card. I was able to take time and enjoy coloring. I also love the pink, black and white combination. I added some pretty paper lace and a black and white ribbon, some black enamel dots and a plastic heart to finish off this fun card. I am sending this card to a special lady in Arizona. I hope it brightens her day! Thanks Gail Lass for all of your encouragement. Your package came on a day when I needed some uplifting and brightened my day in so many ways. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.  I hope you like this card and the coloring of the nose.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Bette Middler (You Got To Have Friends)
And I am all alone
There is no one here beside me
And my problems have all gone
There is no one to deride me
But you got to have friends
The feeling's oh, so strong
You got to have friends
To make that day last long

A Special Person Graduates!

Another look . . .

A closer look at the image!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
The is a very sweet girl who attends my Sunday School class and Church. We have become friends over the past few months and I admire her. She came from a hard family situation. She has worked at various jobs to support herself, lived on her own and graduated. She has the sweetest disposition and recently gave her heart to the Lord. I feel honored to be her friend. The night of graduation she was in tears because she was not sure her parents would attend. Thank heavens they made the choice at the last minute to come. Plus, many from her church family showed up. The smile she had on her face said it all. I hope all of us will continue to encourage her and help her grow in her walk with the Lord. I feel blessed to have known her.  I made this card in her school colors which were blue an gold. She is also a blue eyed, blond so I colored this SC image with these things in mind. A Cuttlebug embossing folder created a lovely design on the metallic gold paper. Two ribbons of blue and gold brightened up my card. I also added WOC roses and Stickles for a bit of sparkle.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: He's the Hand On My Shoulder (BJ Thomas)
He's the hand on my shoulder
When I need to know someone cares
He's the hand on my shoulder
Assuring me that He's always there
He's the voice in the silence
That sounds so sweet and so clear
He's the voice in the silence
Telling me that He's always near
So there's no need for me to worry
When things aren't going quite so smooth
'Cause just as long as I put my trust in Him
He will always see me through

A Photo Inspiration Challnge at The Paper Shelter

 An easel card
A closer look at the image.
 A simple sentiment!

It has been a long time since I have made an easel card. I was a bit out of practice with this but I did manage to get it done. I love this pretty image from THE PAPER SHELTER!
She is called "Purity"!
Our challenge this time is a "photo inspiration. These are always fun as everyone has a different take and so we get a great variety. I actually fussy cut the image and popped it with dimensional foam tape. I use two die cuts and then added pearl buttons, they have been a favorite of mine and I have kept them for several years, this card was the perfect spot for them. A rich, chocolate ribbon and brown rhinestone brads, and a die cut sentiment finish off this easel card. I hope you will click the link above and check out the photo inspiration. While your there check out my teammates cards they are beautiful! Remember if you are a lucky winner you could win $30.00 to spend at fabulous Paper Shelter.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Anne Murray
I cried a tear
You wiped it dry
I was confused
You cleared my mind
I sold my soul
You bought it back for me
And held me up
And gave me dignity
Somehow you needed me
You gave me strength
To stand alone again
To face the world
Out on my own again
You put me high
Upon a pedestal
So high that I could
Almost see eternity
You needed me, you needed me

"Count Your Blessings"

This is a card I created for one of the 'little' guys at church. He always runs up to me each Sunday and says, "Hi, Patty you missed me?". It always makes me laugh. He then gives me a big hug and runs off to his Sunday School class. Isn't it wonderful how the little things bring us joy? I loved the sentiment on this card. It is from Sweet and Sassy. The image is a PM an all the paper is scraps from other projects. I had the sheep buttons in my stash and they have hung around for several years. I thought they were perfect for this card. I hope you see the blessings in your life this week!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Harry Nission
People let me tell you about my best friend
He's a warm-hearted person who'll love me to the end
People let me tell you about my best friend
He's a one boy cuddly toy my up my down my pride and joy

Happy Father's Day

 My husband's fathers day card!
The left inside of the card!
Oooops! Wrong sentiment....fixed after I posted the card!
Father's Day card for my son.
 A closer look again!
The left inside of my card.
The right inside of my card.
I know it is no longer Father's Day, but I wanted my cards to be surprise. After I posted my cards I realized that I had put the wrong sentiment on my husbands card! Argh! I used the same image and most of the same die cuts. A touch of copper Stickles made the barbeque glow! I wanted both my husband and my son to know that I really appreciate the father's they are. For those of you who are fortunate enough to still have your father's I hope you did everything you could to make their day special.
I am entering these cards at the following challenges:

My Song: Daddy's Hands
I remember Daddy's hands,
folded silently in prayer
And reaching out to hold me,
when I had a nightmare
You could read quite a story,
in the callouses and lines
Years of work and worry
had left their mark behind
I remember Daddy's hands,
how they held my Mama tight
And patted my back,
for something done right
There are things that I've forgotten,
that I loved about the man
But I'll always remember
the love in Daddy's hands
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin'
Daddy's hands, were hard as steel
when I'd done wrong
Daddy's hands, weren't always gentle
But I've come to understand
There was always love
in Daddy's hands

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Today  is my son's 37th birthday. He has been such a blessing to our family. I can't express the joy it brings me to see him as a loving husband and a wonderful father to three adorable boys. I hope today brings him nothing but love and joy. Happy Birthday Jeff....You are a blessing beyond measure to me.
I thought this card would be appropriate for Jeff. He loves to BBQ and often cooks for the whole family. The die cut BBQ is from Memory Box and the grass is from CC Designs. I have forgotten where the image is from so if anyone can help me out with this I will credit where it is due. I also thought this card would be perfect for the summer time challenge at Blogger's Challenge.

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Daddy What If
(Daddy what if the sun stop shinin', what would happen then?)
If the sun stopped shinin' you'd be so surprised
You'd stare at the heavens with wide open eyes
And the wind would carry your light to the skies
And the sun would start shinin' again.
(Daddy what if the wind stopped blowin', what would happen then?)
If the wind stopped blowin' then the land would be dry
And your boat wouldn't sail son and your kite wouldn't fly
And the grass would see your troubles and she'd tell the wind
And the wind would start blowin' again.
(But daddy, what if the grass stopped growin', what would happen then?)
If the grass stopped growin' why you'd probably cry
And the ground would be watered by the tears from your eyes
And like your love for me the grass would grow so high
Yes, the grass would start growin' again.
(But daddy. what if I stopped lovin' you, what would happen then?)
If you stopped lovin' me then the grass would stop growin'
The sun would stop shinin' and the wind would stop blowin'
So you see if you wanna keep this old world a goin'
You better start lovin' me again, again, you better start lovin' me again.

A Bit of The Travel Bug!

A closer look at the lovely image!
 The pretty butterflies!
 Pretty rhinestones!
Inside left side of my card!
Inside right side of my card!
Is everyone geared up for a long busy summer? It is a busy time at the Chapman household. Having just finished weeks of work in the yard and flower beds it is now onto some time with the grand kids.
This week our little town hosts a "Cherry Festival". We once were a valley that was surrounded by fruit orchards. Unfortunately, the orchards have all been pulled out and housing subdivisions now take their place. But, we still celebrate with the Cherry Festival. We have activities for the kids every day. They include parades, carnival, pie eating contests, and various other activities. Next week will be a full week of Vacation Bible School. We also will through in Father's Day and m son's birthday. It's enough to make this old lady ready to pack her bags and head out of town.
This is one of the newer images from THE PAPER SHELTER   . She is called "Where We Going" and can be found here! I know I always say this is one of my favorites, but she truly is. I cleaned my craft room this week and discovered this beautiful paper. (Yes! I am a paper hoarder!) My poor kids will have a big job ahead of them when I pass away dealing with my craft room. LOL!  I colored her with Copics and used a stitched circle die to cut her out. I really liked the look of her hanging outside of the die cut. Adding a little Spica pen and some cute butterfly stickers added a bit of sparkle to my card. I finished it off with some white lace and hand punched butterflies on the inside.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Janis Joplin)
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
Feelin' nearly faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained
It rode us all the way to New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna
I was playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues, yeah
Windshield wipers slappin' time, I was holdin' Bobby's hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew

"L" is for Lace!

A closer look at the image.
 The inside of the card.
This is another darling image from THE PAPER SHELTER. If you have never shopped there you have missed out on some great stamps and a lot of bang for your buck! So hop over and I am sure you will find more than one bargain! THE PAPER SHELTER is also our lovely sponsor!  I chose this image for our latest challenge at ABC Challenge. Our letter is "L" and the challenge is to use lace! I love lace but I am one of those weird people who prefer paper lace. How about you? Which is your favorite?  I colored the image with my Copics and added a pretty ribbon and bow. The ribbon I found at the local Dollar store. the pretty paper lace is from a C.C. die. The rhinestone flowers were from a close out bin at a local craft store. I hope you enjoy this fun card and you will check out the other images of our lovely sponsor  THE PAPER SHELTER!
Join in on the fun and show us your lace!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Steven Curtis Chapman
See you sitting over there with your head in your hands
And the mess life's made of your best laid plans
You really want to shake your fist
But you don't know who to blame
Well, you can blame yourself or the man upstairs
Or the guy on the screen who says he cares
But all the shame and the blame won't change a thing
What's done is done
But grace has just begun
And God says
I'm gonna turn it into something different
I'm gonna turn it into something good
I'm gonna take all the broken pieces
And make something beautiful like only I could
So put it all in the hands of the Father
Give it up, give it all over to
The only One who can turn it into
Something beautiful
Something really beautiful

Catch a Falling Star!

I think this is such a charming image from THE PAPER SHELTER and is called "Reach the Stars". I had just received these cute stitched cloud dies from Taylor Expressions and I just love them. They really cut nice and you get five different clouds of various shapes and sizes. The Believe stamp is from Our Daily Bread. I colored my image with Copics and used a Spica pen on the stars, net and clouds for a bit of sparkle. This card will be added to my stash to give as needed.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Perry Como)
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
For love may come and tap you on the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight

Forever Young!

A closer look at my images!
 The inside of my card.
When I was making this card I got to thinking about siblings. I am a middle child so I had both the joy of being the younger sister and the older sister. Wedged between two brothers I often played the roll of peace maker or protector. I watch my grandsons and I see how sometimes the older brother is tired of the younger brother tagging along and sometimes he loves showing him how to do things.  These  older Tilda stamps have been gathering dust for a bit so I grabbed them as they made me think of two siblings off to fish together. I drew in a dusty path with my Copics and added some hand drawn pebbles! I die cut the mushrooms and butterflies. My flowers are from WOC and one handmade rolled rose. I added pearls to the butterflies and Spica pen for a bit of sparkle. The paper was from a little used pad but somehow worked with this "fishing" scene.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Bob Dylan
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

"Anything" but a Card!

A candy box made from acetate!

A closer look at the image from THE PAPER SHELTER!
One more look at the image!
A closer look at the image!
I have to apologize for the pictures of my acetate box. I could not get a good picture of it to save me. The acetate kept reflecting the light and I could not get a full picture of the box. I will say, it was a lot of fun to make and I plan on making more of them. I received a gift from a dear friend who passed away last year, (Amanda Reed) the gift was a Candy Box Punch Board by We R Memory Makers. This is the first time I used it and I don't know why I didn't use it sooner. It was so fun and simple to use....right up my alley! Anyway, our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER  is "Anything But A Card".  Hop on over and check out my team mates wonderful creations. Remember if you use a Paper Shelter image you could win $30.00 in images from THE PAPER SHELTER. So get busy and join in on the fun.
I am entering this candy box in the following challenges:

My Song: The Hollies
Just one look, that's all it took, yeah
Just one look, and I felt so I, I, I'm in love with you, oh oh
I found out how good it feels to have your love, oh oh
Say you will, will be mine forever and always, oh oh
Just one look and I knew that you were my only one, oh
I thought I was dreaming but I was wrong, yeah yeah yeah
Oh, but I'm gonna keep on scheming till I can make you
Make you my own
