"Thinking of You!"

This card is winging it's way to a special friend. I have been blessed in my life with special friends that have a way of brightening my day and putting a smile on my face. One special friend "Amanda" I met through blogging. She always makes me smile and her cards are the best around. Amanda sent me the most beautiful cards and some stamps. I wanted her to know how much I appreciated them and so this card should have reached her by now. So, Amanda, I hope you know you made my day! You are the best. You can find Amanda's lovely blog here: http://cardscatsandcopics.blogspot.com/
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Judy Garland)
If you're ever in a jam, here I am.
If you're ever in a mess, S.O.S.
If you're so happy, you land in jail. I'm your bail.
It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship.

The Trouble With Girls

This is one of my favorite Mo Manning images. Doesn't it take you back to the days you were a little girl and wore your mom's high heels during dress up? I spent the afternoon struggling with two cards for the grandsons and decided to 'reward' myself with a 'girly' card. I love to be able to add a few fussy details to a card. This fit the bill perfectly. I hope your Friday went well and you have a grand week-end. Blessings!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: The Trouble with Girls
The trouble with girls is they’re a mystery
Something about ’em puzzles me
Spent my whole life trying to figure out
Just what them girls are all about
The trouble with girls is their so dang pretty
Everything about ’em does something to me
But I guess that’s the way it’s suppose to be

"I Wanna Be Like You"

Isn't there a saying about imitation being the finest form of flattery? I recently received the loveliest card from my friend Amanda she is the best at combining papers and colors together and making the loveliest cards. I loved the card she sent me and sooooo I had to make my version of it....YEP....I copied her card and added my twist to it. So, Amanda thanks for inspiring me! Hope your day is filled with blessings!
My Song: From the Jungle Book
I wanna be like you
I wanna talk like you
Walk like you, too
You'll see it's true
Someone like me
Can learn to be
Like someone like me
Can learn to be
Like someone like you

"You Needed Me"

This nurse is so serious! She is a cute little C.C. stamp that you can find at All That Scraps. I have had her colored up for a bit and was looking for the perfect paper to use with her. After a bit of digging through the scrap box I found some (gulp) Christmas paper scraps that I liked and they worked! I was a bit frustrated after I added liquid pearls to her earrings,  I flopped it over on its face and smashed them down. GRRRR! I tried to repair them but I am afraid they are what they are! My brads were silver, but I used my Copics to color them black...I do like that little trick! I added some glamour dust to her wings for a bit of sparkle. I used my crop-a-dial to add texture to my card. Hope your week is going well!

I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Ann Murray- You Needed Me
I cried a tear, you wiped it dry
I was confused, you cleared my mind
I sold my soul, you bought it back for me
And held me up and gave me dignity
Somehow you needed me

"Happy Birthday!"

I am experimenting with cards for my grandson Logan's birthday. He is our baby and will turn five the first of May. My grandson's are growing up so fast and I miss spending time with them. I want to make a card that is special for him. I knew when I saw this Edwin stamp that I would have to use it. Logan is always pretending he is driving a race car, or a train, or flying an airplane. I wanted to make the card bright and cheery, but I also wanted it to look like a 'guy' card. I distressed the edges to make it a bit more masculine and added a cute little airplane button. The DP is some I had when I first bought my Sizzix cutter so it is almost 'vintage'! LOL! I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles on my new camera. Hope you like this card. Have a great week! Blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Garth Brooks
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he may not answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered
Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Dandelion Girl

Do you remember blowing on dandelions and watching the little fluffy seeds fly off in the air. It is such a simple joy and a great reminder of the beauty in the world God has freely given us. You might have guessed that this particular Whimsy stamp, called "Dandelion Girl" is one of my favorites! Since I felt this card was reflecting nature I decided to use my new Mushroom Border Die. I am in love with this die and you can create so much deminsion with it. I must admit that I usually grab my Leafy Branch die and Phlox Flowers as my go to and make my card pretty dies, but I know I will be grabbing the Mushroom Border for many cards. A few lacy butterflys with some lovely pearls. (BTY they came off a store bought card I received at Christmas!)   I have (oh I am a creature of habit) used my beloved Copics to color my image. You can find all of these products at All That Scraps....an so much more....there are some fabulous new products for March. Have fun and enjoy!
A quick update on my son Jeff. He met with the surgeon who said he would not need sugery (a praise) but he could not bend, lift or sit for prolonged periods for six weeks. Jeff is a Project Manager for a construction company. So, this will not be easy for him. His sweet wife works part time to carry insurance for the family. So, Jeff takes care of the little boys when she works evenings and week-ends. We had planned to go and help them but they are tough (my grandson's term for anyone who lives in Wyoming!) and have decided to weather this storm on their own. Please keep them in your prayers.

My Song: hmmm this is a hard one.. how about a Beatles song!
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

And The Winner Is

Wasn't all the new images from Krista Smith at the Saturated Canary just fabulous? I had my DH pick the winner for my blog........AND THE WINNER IS.....#28 Jovan at Cards by Jovan! Congratulations Jovan. I will let Krista know you are my winner and you will contact her for your free digi!

Do You Want to Play With Me?

We recently had a 50's theme dinner theater at my church. One of my dear friends brought a pair of skates like these as a decoration on our set. I had several of the young people ask me what they were. When I told them and explained how they worked they reaction was the same each time...you're kidding! LOL! I have many childhood memories of hollering at a neighbor and asking if you wanted to play. This fun image from Mo Manning could have been me right down to the scabbed knee! As spring approaches...oh, wait it is here...I thought this was a good way to remind a friend to stop and play.  I am entering this card at the following challenges:
Since I am thinking of 'days of old' I have a song for it:
Mocking Bird Hill by Burl Ives
When the sun in the morning
Peeps over the hill,
And kisses the roses 'round my windowsill
Then my heart fills with gladness
When I hear the trill
Of the birds in the treetops on Mockin' Bird Hill

Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
It gives me a thrill
To wake up in the morning to the mockingbird's trill
Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
There's peace and goodwill
You're welcome as the flowers on Mockin' Bird Hill
Have a great week-end!

Harvest Time and You Can Win Also!

A while back Krista Smith asked her followers (Yes! I follow!) to send her ideas for new stamps. If she chose your idea you would get the stamp for free. I am happy to tell you that little ole me won! This is my fabulous stamp! Isn't she just the cutest! I grew up in Emmett, Idaho. Our valley was (now it is houses) lined with orchards of all kinds. Apples, cherries, peaches, prunes, plums and pears to name a few. My mom started taking me and my brothers out to the orchards to work at an early age. As I grew older there was a wonderful man named Ed Harpt that would hire me the day after school let out, until the day before school started to work in his orchards. I thinned apples and peaches, picked all of the above mentioned fruit. It was hard work but it was a great way to earn money for school clothes and books, plus you went back to school with a great tan. LOL! I told Krista that I would like a stamp of this time in my life. This is the lovely stamp she sent me. I can tell you that I NEVER looked this good working in the orchards, but I love this stamp. Now, for the really great news Krista is giving a free stamp to one commenter on each blog in this hop. My randomizer has already pick my number for me (that would be my dh) I will tell you who the winner is tomorrow! Be sure and go to http://saturatedcanarychallenge.blogspot.com/ to get a list of all those participating in the bog hop! And then hop on over to http://www.etsy.com/shop/SaturatedCanaryDigis?page=1 to buy some of Krista's fabulous images!

California Girls

I do love the Krista Smith images. This is a fun little image is called "California Girl". She is perfect for a summer card or for those who are dreaming of warm weather. I used some odds and ends to make this card. Scraps from my never ending scrap box, a bit of seam binding, some left over flowers and a heart charm. Just a fun little card and a little time of play in my craft room.
My Song: (Beach Boys)
Well east coast girls are hip, I really dig those styles they wear
And the southern girls and the way they talk,  they knock me out when I'm down there.
The mid-west farmers daughters really make you feel alright
And the northern girls and the way they kiss, they keep their boyfriends warm at night
I wish they all could be California girls!

"You are a treasurer!"

I do treasurer each of my friends that I have met through blogging. I am sorry that I have been so busy lately that I haven't been able to communicate with each of you. I am feeling the need for spring colors today. It has been raining all week with wind and dark skies. So I am pulling out the spring colors. I have been busy all week working on a dinner theater at our church. Saturday night is our big performance and then I should be free to craft once again! LOL! This is a free digi image and I love to use her on cards for the little girls at church. As always I colored the image with my Copics. I found these cute little buttons at Oriental Trader....great price on them also! This is just a fun card to let you know I am still alive and kicking....just a bit busy. Blessings to each of you and have a wonderful week-end!
My Song:
Standing on the corner, thinking about my day
Lost in confusion, cause things just ain't the way
I thought my life would be
I need a change of scenery
When an old man, walked up next to me
He said, "son what's wrong with you"
I thought for a minute of what I could say
and decided to tell him the truth
Of broken promises and shattered dreams
Of how life seemed so unfair
That old man just laughed and said
son keep in mind
If life seems more than you can bear

Life can't be tough as nails
like the ones that pierced the hands and feet
of Jesus as He died on the cross at Calvary
You may think that life has passed you by
and you feel like your well has run dry
Just take it to the one, who gave His only Son
Cause life can't be tough as nails

A Special Thank You!

I wanted to make a special thank you card for my grandson's kindergarten teacher. Her name is Mrs. Needles and she is a wonderful teacher. While I was visiting him I was able to visit his classroom, have lunch with him and go on a field trip. It was so much fun for me and will be a time that I cherish. Our challenge at ABC this time is lavender and lace. Perfect for this time of year!  I knew when I saw this fun image from Krista Smith that it would make a great thank you card. As you can see I added lots of lace, bling, butterflies and lavender. I hope you will also check out the beautiful creations of my fellow teammates. They are yummy! So grab your lavender and lace and join the fun!
I am entering this card in the following challeges:

My Song: Thank You
I dreamed I went to Heaven, you were there with me.
We walked upon the streets of gold beside the Crystal Sea.
We heard the angels singing, then someone called your name.
You turned and saw this young man, and he was smiling as he came.
He said, "Friend you may not know me now," and then he said, "But wait -
You used to teach my Sunday School, when I was only eight.
And every week you would say a prayer before the class would start.
And one day when you said that prayer,
I asked Jesus in my heart."
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

Rock Around the Clock!

This is another card I have done for our 50's night. I have had this stamp forever and just now inked it up. I don't know what took me so long as it is a fun stamp to color. I wish Tilda had a poodle skirt on but at least it works for my card pack! Have a blessed week-end and enjoy the great weather!
My Song: Rock Around The Clock!
One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock,
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock,
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight.
Put your glad rags on and join me, hon,
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes one,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.

Hula Hoop!

We are having a dinner theater at our church on the 17th. The setting of the play takes place in the 50's. I am making some card packets to give away as a prize. I wanted to do some 50's them cards and thought this little magnolia would be perfect! Isn't she cute with her little hula hoop? I was trying to use up some of my 'scrap' paper and came up with this color combo. Just a fun card that I hope someone will love.
My Song:
Hula hoop, hula hoop
Anyone can play the hula hoop
Hula hoop, hula hoop
Anyone can play from three to a hundred and ten

So, how many of you can still hula hoop? Warning....it is not like riding a bike!

Good Bye Winter

This is a lovely image from Mo Manning. I actually made this card for the challenge at Joan's Garden but since our Internet was down I was not able to post it by the deadline for the challenge. This card is one of those that is so much prettier in real life! Promise! I used a new Cherry Lynn die to frame her isn't it cute. The flowers and the corner embellishment are also Cherry Lynn. All the paper is from my scrap box. Even though I use from it is still grows....why is that? LOL! I popped my little snow fairy with foam added Glamour Dust to the wings snowball and the dots on her skirt. She is so sparkly! Today we have a beautiful sunshine day and the temps are warm. I am afraid the snow fairy will have to retire until next winter. I hope each of you are blessed with good weather today. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of the families who have lost their homes and loved ones to tornado's.
My Song: (It's An Oldie)
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it's time to go,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.

Put Your Head On My Shoulder!

We have had Internet issues this week and I was unable to post my cards. So, I missed a few challenges but I did have fun making the cards. I think I  have fallen in love with these Sassy Cheryl images.
They are so adorable and fun. This one is called "Precious Callie". I love the little lady bugs! I colored the image with Copics. I added a little liquid glass to the lady bugs and her hair bobbles to make them shine. I will be looking for challenges for this card and my next three postings.
My Song: (Paul Anka)
Put your head on my shoulder
Whisper in my ear, baby
Words I want to hear
Tell me, tell me that you love me too.

"K" Is for Kraft! ABC Challenge Time!

Are you ready for a new month? Time is marching on isn't it? It is time again for another challenge at ABC! Our letter this time is "K". The challenge is "K" is for Kraft paper. You must use Kraft paper on your card. I mounted my embossed Kraft paper on a deep red card stock. I just had to use my new  Cherry Lynn die to frame my fun image....isn't he just the cutest little guy. I hope you will hop by and see the fantabulous (love that word) entries by my team mates....they are outstanding! Have a fun week and get 'krafty'!
OK....Sarah do you know this one?
My Song: The Bare Neccesities

The simple bear Necessitites,
Forget about your worries and your strife.
I mean the, Bear Necessities
Oh, Mother Nature's recipies that bring the Bear Necessities to life
