Time for the Fairies!

It is time for new stamps to be released by Sherri Baldy I snagged this cute fairy. So many of my friends love anything fairy related that I knew they would love any cards made with these cute images. Check out the new images and I am sure you will find some you like.  The bottom pictures are the same fairy but colored in a different way.  I hope you enjoy both of these!

My Song: September (Willie Nelson)
Oh, it's a long, long while
From May to December
But the days grow short,
When you reach September.
When the autumn weather
Turn leaves to flame
One hasn't got time
For the waiting game.
Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few. ..

Wishful Thinking

A closer look at the image.
The left inside of my card.
The right inside of my card.
Recently I traveled to Missouri to attend the funeral of a a very dear aunt. My cousins and I were talking about how we wished we could have one more day, we could go back to the time we grew up and how we wished our children would have enjoyed the family gatherings we had when we were kids. Of course it was wishful thinking but it did remind each of us how much we loved one another and even though our paths have parted and we only seem to get together when some one passes away that family is important and we all vowed to reach out to each other more.  When I saw this cute image it made me think of my cousin Susie and I knew I would have to send it to her. She is having a hard time missing her mom and dealing with all the issues that are coming up. I hope it will brighten her day.  If you haven't checked out the releases of Sherri Baldy's I hope you will take a look. There is something or everyone!

My Song;  Wishful Thinking (Mercy Me)

Lord is it possible to get this far
And just now understand who You are?
I'm feeling foolish yet relieved as well
Cuz what I bought before, I just can’t sell
But now my eyes are open wide
If this is wrong
I don’t wanna be right
Could it be that on my worst day
How You love me still will not change
What if it’s really not about
What I do but what you did, oh what if
This ain’t wishful thinking it’s just how it is
This ain’t wishful thinking it’s just how it is

Peek A Boo Fairy

A triple bow and liquid pearls!

Have you seen the new stamp release by Sherry Baldy? There are some really cute faeries. I love how this one is peeking out from a pretty flower. I wish my photo showed the sparkle on the the wings. I love my bling and these wings to sparkle. I love how these images are appropriate for everyone. I added some pretty paper lace and some iridescent half stones to add additional sparkle. A pretty ribbon and triple bow finish of this fun card.

My Song: Who AM I (Casting Crowns)
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wondering heart?
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

"Music Maestro"

School has started and the holiday season will soon be upon us. Does that make you a bit nervous? It does me. I am usually pretty set by this time and other than changing decorations out it is a time of joy and fun for me. Now, there is a "Grinch" that lives at our house and he would prefer we would skip all of the holidays. LOL! We have a fun challenge for you this time at THE PAPER SHELTER
is "Music Maestro Please". If you are stumped for ideas hop on over to THE PAPER SHELTER and check out all of the lovely digi stamps that relate to music. (Don't forget you get a jpeg image, a colored image, ping image, and background paper.) You will not find a better deal anywhere! I chose "Melody"
just click on the link and you will go directly to her. I decided to do a white on white card. It has been a bit since I last did one and I had to re-think this several times. I personally think with white on white lots of layers, die cuts and white accessories are the best! I might have gone a bit pearl happy also but I do think they look pretty. I also added a "You make my heart sing" ticket sentiment (kept it white). A pretty sheer ribbon and some more pearls finished off my card! I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Bob Seger)
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

(OK admit it some of you sang along when you started to read the lyrics! Right? )

And everyday I let it show
Because you loved me

Butterflies, Cat Tails and A Fairy

This is such a pretty little fairy from FAERY INK. I have been holding onto this DP for such a long time. Every time I was going to use it I would put it back. But when I tried it with this image I knew it was perfect for this card. I fussy cut the image and then mounted her on Kraft paper.  I also used Kraft paper to cut all of the die cuts with. I used a walnut ink to antique the edges of the die cuts and then added rhinestones to the center of each butterfly. The die cuts are all Joanna Sheen. I really like her dies!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Bare Necessities
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

You'll NeverWalk Alone

I have had this stamp for a couple of years and I can not tell you where I got it or who makes it. I remember thinking it would be perfect for those 'boy' cards. But, that is all I can remember . I did add some Liquid Glass to the eyes and the front panel on the robot. The gears are all die cuts with brads added to the center. (I just now realized that I forgot one gear!) The card has already been sent so I guess it is too late to fix!) LOL! At least my friends know me and know that sometimes these things happen. Hope your day is going better!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Gary and the Pacemakers
When you walk through the storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
 Walk on, through the wind
Walk on, through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Count the Cost

A closer look at the fun image
The left inside of my card.

The right inside of my card.
If you are wondering about the title of this post I will explain. This was a freebie digi offered by Sherri Baldy. I thought this bucked tooth little guy was so cute. Then I had this paper in my stash since last Christmas. It came from a pad that I had used  all of the paper but this one. It just seemed to be blaugh to me and even though I had tried to incorporate it several times I had always laid it back and choose another paper. But, when I colored this cute image I just knew it would work with this paper. I added a Memory Box stocking die cut and some Stickles to the fur on both the stocking and the Santa hat. A pretty sparkly ribbon finished of this simple card. (This would be clean and simple for me). I hope you enjoy this cute card and if you 'count the cost' it really was an inexpensive card to make. LOL! I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: The Chipmunk Song
Christmas, Christmas time is near,
Time for toys and time for cheer.
We've been good, but we can't last,
Hurry Christmas, Hurry fast.
Want a plane that loops the loop,
  Me, I want a Hula-Hoop.
We can hardly stand the wait,
Please Christmas don't be late.

I Believe

My mom always used to say, "the flowers are flaunting the last of their glory"! This is so true for my garden this year. As fall comes the flowers seem to be so bright and pretty. I think that is why I chose this DP. My darling image is from THE PAPER SHELTER. I just love this stamp and know it will be another favorite of mine. The pretty flower embellishments are just cheapie foam that is die cut and and glitter added for sparkle. I also added some pretty half pearls that I colored to match my card base. I let this pretty stamp hang out of the boarder (I do love that look!)
One of the challenges "As You Like It" asked the question "Sweet or Savory". I love sweet it is a 'reward' for me. I can't reward myself often as it all wants to stay with me!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way.
I believe, I believe.
I believe above the storm the smallest pray'r will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, or touch a leaf or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe!

Put A Little Love In Your Heart

By now I am sure most of you are like me and ready for this long hot summer to come to an end. I put some fall decorations up at home and church so there is no doubt in anyone's mind that I am over it. Between the heat, fires, and lack of rain I will be glad to see the snow fly this year. Because of the drought  in the west we need all the snow pack we can get.
I choose the 'purples' for this card. I don't often use them as I have such a problem in the colors matching. If you have a pretty Copic color combo in the 'purples' please let me know....I could really use the help! I am entering this card at the following challenges.

My Song:
Think of your fellow man
lend him a helping hand
put a little love in your heart.
You see it's getting late
oh please don't hesitate
put a little love in your heart.
And the world will be a better place
and the world will be a better place
for you and me
you just wait and see

God Made Us Cousins

 A closer look!
 A 'blurry' close up!

Both sentiments are free ones from TLC.
I am sending this card to my cousin Susie. She has had a rough week and needs a bit of encouragement. This is a stamp from Faerie Ink and she is so pretty. Lots of fun to work on the hair and practice my flicking.  I used a different color combination on the hair and I like the red tones. I kept this card pretty simple just to showcase the image. I added some rhinestones and a pretty ribbon and bow to finish off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Bless the Broken Road (Selah)
I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
Hoping I would find true love, along the broken
road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign, pointed straight to
you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like
northern stars
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That lead me straight to you
