A "Christmas Card" Challenge!

A closer look at this fun digi stamp!
 A die cut Merry Christmas!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!

I had such a great time making this card. I love the rustic look and the cute digi stamp named "Christmas Stocking" can be found here! Our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE BLOG is "A Christmas Card" . It is that time when we all can always use an extra Christmas card so this challenge is great for those of us who are behind! I kept this card simple and stuck to an unusual pallet for Christmas. I like it and I hope the recipient does also! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you are ready for the coming Christmas holiday!  So join the fun and maybe you will be our next big winner!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas (Johnny Mathis)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go,
Take a look in the five-and-ten, it's glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes that glow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.
A pair of hop-along boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben,
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen,
Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again.

Do I Look Familiar

I get a kick out of these fun images from Sandra Caldwell. This one is no exception, she is called "Glamour Nana". I had such a fun time adding some glamour to my card. I loved the gold gilded paper. I thought it was the perfect touch with this card. A bit of Spica pen and some crystal effects finished off this simple card. Which I think by the way looks much like a lady in our town!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving week-end. I have so much to be thankful for, my husband, my two children and my three wonderful grandsons. God is good!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: My Girl-The Temptations
I've got sunshine on a cloudy day
And when it's cold outside,
Well I've got the month of May
I guess you say
What could make me feel this way
My love, my love, my love,
Talking bout my love, my love
I've got so much honey
You know the bees envy me
I've got a sweeter song
Oh than the birds in trees
Oh and I know, I know,
I know what you're gonna say
What what could make me feel this way
My love, my love, my love,
Talkin' about my love, my love

Blue Christmas!

I have been playing with some of my new stamps, dies and impression folders I  got while attending the CK Convention in Tacoma, Washington.  I love this cute digi stamp and as always snowmen are a favorite of mine. This new impression folder is a SU called cable sweater. The pine cone die is also from SU. I love how simple this card is but it has lots of textures and dimensions. I hope you enjoy it too! Have a great week!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Blue Christmas (Elvis)
I'll have a blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me
And when those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
You'll be doin' all right, with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue blue blue Christmas
You'll be doin' all right, with your Christmas of white,
But I'll have a blue, blue Christmas

Go Light Your World

As many of you know, I recently attended the CK Convention in Tacoma. I took and loved three of the Heartfelt Creations classes that were offered. When I came home I had to start playing with my new Heartfelt stamps and dies. This card is the first I made since arriving home! While my flowers are not yet to the point of Glenda Brook's flowers, I must say I was happy with them. I am going to be making many more this holiday season! Heartfelt classes are some of the best I have taken and I love the beautiful results you can achieve with them.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Go Light Your World (Kathy Troccoli)
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame
Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

What Did I Forget?

This fun stamp from Sandra Caldwell makes me think of myself at the grocery store. I make a list and still mange to forget something. Ugh...I forgot to mention that I hate grocery shopping. But I do have fun with Sandra Caldwell digis. I colored this fun digi with Copics.  Some pretty acrylic flowers and a die cut fan finished off this quick and easy card.
I hope each of you have a Happy Thanksgiving and you each take time to give thanks!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Give Thanks
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks

Baby It's Cold Outside!

This is one of my favorite new stamps from The East Wind called "baby it's cold outside". I was working with my old school mate showing her how to use die cuts and I made this card. I am warning all of you that you will see more of this stamp in the future. I do really love coloring her.  A die cut Merry Christmas and a pretty Poinsettia added to the corner die cut. Some Nuvo liquid pearls and rhinestone centers finished off this card.  I will add a sentiment later as I am pressed for time today.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Baby It's Cold Outside (Dean Martin)
I really can't stay
(But baby, it's cold outside)
I've got to go away
(But baby, it's cold outside)
This evening has been
(Been hoping that you'd drop in)
So very nice
(I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)
My mother will start to worry
(Beautiful what's your hurry?)
My father will be pacing the floor
(Listen to the fireplace roar)

Snow Much Fun!

I have just returned home from the CK Convention in Tacoma, Washington. Although the convention was smaller this year and CK has made the decision to not hold a convention in the Northwest in 2017 my friends and I manged to have a great time. Thanks to
and

These companies always go above and beyond my expectations when it comes to classes and customer service. My friends and I all left the convention with praises for these companies. I loved seeing the new products and ways to use them. I will be sharing some new cards I have made using their products in future postings.
Now to my card posted here. This card has made it's way from Idaho to Americus,  Georgia. My brother's adorable granddaughters have never seen snow or built a snowman. Something that is second nature here in Idaho. My brother is planning on bringing his middle granddaughter out when we have snow here for some 'play' time. I sent this card with the cute Mo Manning stamp to her. I am excited about sharing this adventure with her and my grandsons. Grandkids are such a blessing and as you may have noticed I enjoy this blessing daily. I colored my wooden trees with my Copics and hand lettered the "Do you want to build a snowman" sentiment. The stamp is popped with foam pop dots and the pretty die is from Joanna Sheen. A fun card for a sweet little girl.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Do You Want To Build A Snowman?
Do you want to build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away...
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why!
Do you want to build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman

A Cute Little Snowman

I love this cute little snowman stamp. Doesn't he make you want to smile? I have a friend from high school who is just now getting into card making. This is one of the first few cards we have made together. I am trying to do different techniques. This card has dry embossing, a window, acetate, die cuts, and making a bow. Oh, and did I mention 'fussy cutting'? LOL! It has been fun to renew old friendships and have fun learning together! I hope you like this little card and that you and your family will be enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Elsa?)
Do you want to build a snowman?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore

It's like you've gone away...
We used to be best buddies

I wish you would tell me why!
Do you want to build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman

A Card With More Than One Fold Challenge!

 A Double Fold, Easel Card
 The outside of my card!
The inside with double fold open!
A closer look at my lovely digi stamp!
A little bit of glitter for sparkle!
My card with the easel standing up!
 My sentiment!

A look at the many folds!
Do you think this post is a bit photo laden? I had such a hard time trying to show my card with it's folds. It was a fun card to make but a hard card to take a picture of! I added wooden embellishments on the front of my card and colored them with a Copic marker. I was going to lace the front of the card using these wooden embellishments, but after breaking three of them trying to lace them I gave up on that brilliant idea! the inside of the flaps I added some pretty glass glitter to add some sparkle. Lace, wooden embellishments, rhinestones, and a die cut Happy Birthday finished off my easel portion of the card. A die cut and stitched circle die cut, wooden butterfly, rhinestone, and a birthday sentiment finished off this many fold card!
In case you haven't guessed our challenge this time at THE PAPER SHELTER is a card of more than one fold! I have chosen "She Is Adorable" as my digi for this card. I hope you will all join us for this fun challenge! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Isn't She? (Stevie Wonder) (for my daughter Traci)
Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love
Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love

White on White

"T" Is for Three!

The top of my card has a flap!
A closer look at the Paper Shelter Stamp!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
I would guess that most of you are in the start of the Holiday Rush. I was surprised when I was doing some shopping in July that Christmas decorations were already on display and a small section had been allocated to Thanksgiving. Really? July? I think this may be why people are so stressed at Christmas! Maybe if we all focus on the real meaning of Christmas we can enjoy the holidays so much more.  OK, I am off my soapbox and onto my card and our fun challenge at  ABC Challenge! we are up to the letter "T". So, for a fun challenge we want to see three! Three papers, 3 die cuts, 3 embellishments (eg. ribbons, pearls, flowers). Our lovely sponsor is Marianne Design all of the lovely die cuts are from Marianne Design if you haven't checked out her lovely dies I hope you will take time to do so. the stamp I used is from The Paper Shelter.
The stamp is called "Cute Biker"
You can click on the links for find the dies and stamps! I used pearls,  heart rhinestones, and ribbon for my embellishments. I hope you like this card and that you will join the fun at ABC CHALLENGE! You may be the lucky winner of a fabulous "Marianne Design" dies!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Go Away Little Girl (Donnie Osmond)
Won't you go away (little girl)
Wish you wouldn't stay (little girl)
Won't you go away (little girl)
Wooo ooo go away.
Go away little girl
Go away little girl
I'm not supposed to be alone with you
Oh yes I know that your lips are sweet
But our lips must never meet
I belong to somebody else and I must be true.
Please go away little girl
Go away little girl
It's hurting me more each minute that you delay
When you are near me like this
You're much too hard to resist
So go away little girl before I beg you to stay.

Thank You Wendy!

As you are reading this I am winging my way home from TaComa, Washington, leaving behind a fun CK Convention, and wonderful time with my BFF Wendy! I have attend several of the CK Conventions and each time have stayed with my sweet friend Wendy. I truly believe we are sisters in our hearts. It doesn't matter how long we are apart when we meet it is just like we have never been apart. I wanted to leave a thank you for Wendy and so this card was it. The stamp is from "The East Wind" and is a favorite of mine.  So, Thank you Wendy (and Mark) for always opening your home to me, for always being there for me and for the love you show everyone. You have touched my heart in a special way.
My Song: You've Got A Friend (Carol King)
When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend
If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep you head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at you door
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there

Walkin' In a Winter Wonderland!

Another Christmas card for the stash. This is a scheduled post as I am in Tacoma enjoying the aftermath of the CK Convention! I know I  will have had a great time with my BFF friend Wendy, and my friends Kathy and Heidi and Leola. Also, I am thrilled that Janie Printz and I finally got to meet in person. I feel like Janie and i have known each other forever. Thank you to my husband Steve who made it possible for me to attend convention this year. I am blessed.
I did have fun making this card. I love the pretty soft blue color and the pop of the hot pink! The beautiful image is a stamp from Lemon Shortbread called Winter Snow Muff Girl. The pretty flowers are made from ribbon and a clear rhinestone in the center gives them sparkle. Some pretty paper lace with rhinestone centers from Queen and Company. I also added glitter to snow and her coat. I think it makes a pretty Christmas card!
My Song: Winter Wonderland
In the lane
Snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song
As we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland
In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man
But you can do the job
When you're in town
Later on
We'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we've made
Walking in a winter wonderland
Winter wonderland
