My Song: Have You Ever Seen The Rain (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
Someone told me long ago there's a calm before the storm
I know, it's been comin' for some time
When it's over, so they say, it'll rain a sunny day
I know, shinin' down like water
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?
Yesterday and days before, sun is cold and rain is hard
I know, been that way for all my time
'Til forever, on it goes through the circle, fast and slow
I know, it can't stop, I wonder
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?
I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?

Egg-stra Special Wishes!

A closer look at the fun stamp!
The left inside of my card.
The  right inside of my card!
Just a quick posting this morning. I have just returned from a quick trip to Americus, Georgia. My younger brother's wife passed away and I flew there from Idaho to attend her funeral. I hated to leave my brother as he has a lot of adjustments to deal with in the coming months. Ruth Ann was his best friend and they enjoyed traveling and seeing new things together. He had just retired so they could travel more and then it was discovered she had cancer throughout her body. Cancer is such an ugly disease. It has devastated Bud and Ruth's family. Please keep them in your prayers.
On to my card. This was a quick card I made before I left. I needed it for a friends birthday. She raises chickens and sells the eggs for extra income.  I thought this fun card would be prefect  for her. I have a new chicken wire die cut and I love how it looks. I actually cut 2 so I cover the background with the chicken wire. The stamp is a Saturated Canary stamp and it was intended for Easter. I just changed the egss to regular eggs and it changed the whole look of the stamp. I don't normally use stickers on my cards, but I was in a hurry and so I added some pretty country flower stickers stickers to add a pretty frame effect. The chicken on the inside and the sentiments are from Stampin Up!  I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Beulah Land (My SIL's Favorite)
I'm kind of homesick for a country
To which I've never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
For time won't matter anymore.
Beulah Land, I'm longing for you
And some day on thee I'll stand.
There my home shall be eternal.
Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land
I'm looking now across the river
Where my faith will end in sight.
There's just a few more days to labor.
Then I will take my heavenly flight.

All It Needs Is Lipstick and Rouge!

My next card was created with two lovely stamps from our fabulous sponsor Rick St. Dennis.

When I was younger I can remember my dad saying, "All it needs is lipstick and rouge". We had just moved into a house that was old and had rough treatment by the previous owner. My dad could fix just about anything and he was meticulous with what ever he did. It wasn't long before my parents had painted and repaired the house to where it was a warm comfortable home for them, my brothers and myself. I always try to bear in mind that sometimes all we need is lipstick and rouge to brighten up something in our life. These two images from our great sponsor Rick St. Dennis reminded me of this memory from long ago. The first stamp on the front of my card is called Original Morning Goddess
She looks like many of us who crawl out of bed not quiet ready for the new day to start. Although, I will admit to wearing a ratty old robe a few times in my life, I never wore those silly bedroom slippers!  The second image on my card is Queen of Heart, just a little lipstick and rouge and she is looking fine! LOL! Well that is my story of lipstick and rouge! I hope you will join our challenge at Inspiration Destination as always it is "Anything Goes"!
I am Entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Ruby (Kenny Rogers)
You've painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair
Ruby, are you contemplating going out somewhere?
The shadow on the wall tells me the sun is going down
Oh, Ruby,
Don't take your love to town
It wasn't me that started that old crazy Asian war
But I was proud to go and do my patriotic chore
And yes, it's true that I'm not the man I used to be
Oh, Ruby,
I still need some company

Vintage or Antique?

This card was made for our new challenge at Inspiration Destination. This is my first attempt at coloring a vintage car! I have a few bloopers but for the most part I think it turned out OK! I made this card with  a stamp from our sponsor "Doodle Pantry" the stamp is called "Vintage Auto and can be found here.
The pretty rhinestones are from Queen and Co. I just love their products for embellishments!  I hope you will hop over to Inspiration Destination and play along with our fun challenge this week. Remember their challenge is always "anything goes".
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: What the World Needs Now (Jackie Deshannon)
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone
Lord, we don't need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last 'till the end of time
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone

"J" is for "Just As You Like"

A closer look at my handmade flowers!
Another look at the flowers and pearls!
A closer look at the cute stamp!
The inside of my card, I will stamp my sentiment later!
Good morning everyone! I hope you are enjoying some lovely spring weather. This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love our valley when all the flowers are blooming and the grass is green and the temperatures are not at the point they fry your brain when you are outside.
It is time for another challenge at ABC Challenge! We are now on the letter "J" so this challenge is "Just As You Like". So you can make anything you like for this challenge. Our lovely sponsor is "All Dressed UP" and the stamp I chose is "Springtime" and you can find it here! I made all the pink flowers on my card. It took me several hours to complete all the steps but I did it!  I think they look quiet pretty  for a first attempt. A pretty print ribbon and bow and some half pearls finish off this fun card. Please let our sponsor know how much you appreciate there generous gift and for making this challenge possible. Have a great week and be sure and join in on the fun.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
(nursery rhyme: Mistress Mary)
My Song: Sweat Pea (Tommy Roe)
Oh Sweet Pea, come on and dance with me
Come on, come on, come on and dance with me
Oh Sweet Pea, won't you be my girl?
Won't you? Won't you? Won't you be my girl?
I went to a dance just the other night
I saw a girl there she was out of sight
I asked a friend of mine who she could be
He said that her friends just call her Sweet Pea

My Song: You Didn't Have To Be So Nice (Lovin Spoonfull)
You didn't have to be so nice
I would have liked you anyway
If you had just looked once or twice
And gone upon your quiet way
Today I said the time was right for me to follow you
I knew I'd find you in a day or two
And it's true

"I" Is Important! A new challenge at ABC Challenge

The left hand inside of my card!
The right inside of my card.

It is a busy day for fun challenges! At ABC Challenge we are on the letter "I" and our challenge this week is Important! We want you to create something for an important occasion, Baby, Birthday, Anniversary or any important occasion in your life! Our lovely sponsor for our challenge is "Polkadoodles"
I am in love with these cute images and there is such a nice selection that you will find something for everyone. I am using the lovel "Healthy Eating" from the Winnie Sugar Sprinkles collections. I hope you will join in the fun and you may be our next winner!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

As some of you may know we have two members of our family who are battling cancer. Both have cancer through out their bodies and we are asking prayers for both of them. Please pray for Ruth Ann and Chad. Right now it is hard for many of us to understand why things would happen the way they do. A good friend of mine sent me  a link to this song and for "My Song" today I wanted to share it with you!
"Farther Along" (Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt)
Tempted and tried, we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all day long
While there are others living about us
Never molested though in the wrong
When death has come and taken our loved ones
It leaves our home so lonely and drear
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all, by and by
Faithful 'til death, said our loving Master
A few more days to labor and wait
Toils of the road will then seem as nothing
As we sweep through the beautiful gates
Farther along we'll know all about it
Farther along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all, by and by

"A New Hat" for Inspiration Destination

A closer look of the cute stamp!
The details  added to my card.
 The inside of my card!
I want to say a thank you of gratitude to our wonderful sponsor Polkadoodles.
We are starting a new challenge at Inspiration Destination and Polkadoodles provided our DT with some lovely stamps! When I first started making cards I quickly found just a few (3) artists stamps that I liked. I often skimmed past blogs that did not use the small selection of stamps that I  "liked". I would like to think that I have grown over the past few years and I am now not afraid to try something that I thought might not be my cup of tea. How about you do you just stick with stamps you know and love?  OK! Time to get on with my card. I must admit I am right in my element with the designs from "Polk A Doodle".  This cute stamp is no exception. She is called "Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Springtime - New Bonnet"
She is the cutest! I remember when I was a little girl you always wore a pretty bonnet to church. I always looked forward to Easter because I would get a new dress and bonnet. Now that I am older I can appreciate how my parents struggled in the early years raising a family. I am sure it was a struggle to provide a new outfit for my two brothers and myself at that time.
I didn't add too much in the way of embellishments as I wanted the stamp to be the focal point. I die cut  my flowers and added some sparkle with the center stones which can be found at Queen and Co. The sentiment on the inside of my card is from Sweet and Sassy.

Our Next Sponsor is Karleigh Sue this artist is fairly  new to me but I had so much fun with her cute image called Hot Sunny Day

Don't forget it is always "Anything Goes" at Inspiration Destination Challenges
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:   Easter Parade (Irvin Berlin)
In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade.
On the avenue, fifth avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter parade.

Flower Power! The Paper Shelter Challenge!

It's time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter. This time it is "Flower Power". We want to see flowers on your card or project. Easy-Peasy! I hand stitched around the image, added some pretty flowers from WOC and some pretty rhinestones from Queen and Company.
So grab your stamp from The Paper Shelter and show us your flowers!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I am I said (Niel Diamond)
L.A.'s fine, the sun shines most the time
And the feeling is "lay back"
Palm trees grow and rents are low
But you know I keep thinkin' about
Making my way back
Well I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays,
I'm lost between two shores
L.A.'s fine, but it ain't home
New York's home,
But it ain't mine no more
"I am"... I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair
"I am"... I cried "I am"... said I
And I am lost and I can't
Even say why
Leavin' me lonely still
