The Magic of Christmas

I must confess that I am hopelessly sentimental when it comes to Christmas. I love the colors, the carols, the decorations, nativity scenes, trees, etc. They all seem to touch me in a special way. It is not about the gifts but rather family and friends and a special day to honor our Lord and Savior. Anyway, on to my card.....this is another Wee image and I love the sweet looks on the faces in this image. i wish my pictures were better as there really is a lot of 'sparkle on this image but it is hard to see! I also used a bit of puffy paint on her jacket, I do love to play with that stuff! Just another card for the stash...now I am off for a day of Christmas shopping!
My Song: (Alan Jackson)
Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the hearts of all people both near and afar
Christmas everywhere
Feel the love of the season wherever you are
On the small country roads lined with green mistletoe
Big city streets where a thousand lights glow
Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere

Wild Christmas Colors!

For the last two weeks I have been fighting a respiratory infection and have barely been able to drag myself from the couch to work to bed each day. Tuesday, I finally felt like returning to life among the living. So, I was going to blame this color combo on my drug enhanced life (aka cold medicine) but to be honest I like the purple and turquoise combo. LOL! I really enjoyed coloring this cute little Wee image. I added some snowflakes with rhinestone centers. I used a MS punch for the ivy. I hope you like this card and if not maybe the color combo will wake you up this morning!
My song: John Lennon
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving. The wonderful smells of our turkey  cooking is filling our home. We are missing our son, dil, and grand kids this year, but what a blessing to know that they also are enjoying a wonderful day together. I have so many things to be grateful for and know that I have been blessed in untold riches. I am grateful for my husband, my daughter, my son, my daughter-in-law and my beautiful grandsons. All of my needs have been met over the years and I have never known want for shelter, food, or any basic needs.  I hope each of you will take time to reflect on your blessings also.
My card is a just for fun card, I loved this cute image and knew I wanted to make my own rolled roses when I saw the ones in her hair. I think the fact I had to wear glasses from second grade through sixth grade (then contacts!). I always love the images with glasses!
My Song:
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"
We give thanks to You oh Lord
We give thanks

Happy Birthday Jesus!

I love this sweet little image from The Paper Shelter. I wanted to make a birthday card for a friend of mine named Hollie. Her birthday is in December and I thought this card would be perfect for her. (She also loves kitties!) This card is also for our new challenge at The Paper Shelter! This is an easy challenge you need to make a "Birthday card". Something we always use! I went a bit pearl crazy and also glitter crazy!  A bit of paper lace, pearls, and ribbon made this card complete! Hop on over and use a Paper Shelter image and join our challenge!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:
Happy birthday, Jesus, it's that time of year
All the lights on the trees say Christmas time is near
Another year's behind us, you helped us make it through
So, happy birthday, Jesus, this song is just for you
We all get so hung up on material things at times it seems like we forget
What Christmas really means
It should be thanks we're givin', that's why I wrote this tune
Happy brithday, Jesus, this song is just for you
There's a gift for everyone but you underneath the tree
No, it's not much, but I hope you like this song to you from me
Happy birthday Jesus, that's why I wrote this tune
So, happy birthday, Jesus, my song is just for you

Snow Angel

Today I received this darling image from The Paper Shelter. I instantly fell in love with it and since I have been puny all week with a horrid cold. I decided to reward myself with time to color it. It was so much fun to color and even though my "Big Shot" is broke and I am feeling very handicapped without it I had to make a card and post it for you. I colored the image with Copics and added some iridescent pearls. I had some swirls that I added to the corners and my flowers are from WOC. VerĂ³nica, I love this image and I hope all of you will hop on over to The Paper Shelter and check out all the new fun images.....I know you will find something you just love!

My Song: The Angels Cried
They came from near, they came from far
Following a distance star to where He lay
Not being sure of what it mean, but
Knowing it was their way
And the creatures gathered 'round
And didn't make a sound
And the angels cried
The angels knew what was to come
The reason God had sent His son
From up above
It filled their hearts with joy to see and
Knowing of His destiny
Came tears of love
I've often thought about that night
And wondered if they realized
That star so bright
Was sent to tell all the land
The Son of God would soon become
The Son of Man
And the creatures gathered 'round
And didn't make a sound
And the angels cried

And the creatures gathered 'round

Butterflies!

November has already been a busy month. Time seems to be flying by and I am always behind on what I need to get done! It is also time for a new challenge at ABC! This is a fun one and should be easy for everyone. Our letter is "B" for Butterfly. There are so many darling images with butterflies the hardest part will be what to use, or punch, or die cut or .... well you get the picture. This cutie is from Saturated Canary and she is a fun color. I am not sure why the left side of her hair looks blue in the picture, the card doesn't look that way at all. I added some die cut butterflies (Memory Box-I think!) and added some Stickles for my 'sparkle'. I also used a Spica pen on the 'spots' to add a little bling. All of my paper is from my scrap box and all the bits went together nicely for me. I hope you will all play along this week! Bunny Zoe is our fabulous sponsor this week! Our new DT members are on board and they and the rest of the team have some fabulous inspiration for you! So let's see those butterflies!
My Song: Butterfly Kisses!
There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
And she's daddy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried
Oh with all that I've done wrong
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every mornin'
And butterfly kisses at night

Princess Harvest

I am loving the new "Princess" images at Saturated Canary! I just had to give this image a color with my Copics. This is a 'CAS'  for me! LOL...guess I had to add just a few things!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Colors of the Wind
You think I'm just an ignorant savage
And you've been so many places; I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see, if the savage one is me
How can there be so much that you don't know?
You don't know...
You think you own whatever land you land on
The earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name.
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Shepherd Boy

This is my first attempt at a night scene. I must admit it was harder than I had anticipated! I don't know why the sky looks so splotchy in my picture....it has to be the way the light is reflecting when I took the picture. I loved the image and had seen a video (somewhere) SORRY....I will give credit if someone lets me know where it is from....but it was a fantastic video. I framed it with a Spellbinders die to frame it and added the snowflakes cut from a die that my sweet friend Elaine sent me. The paper lace is a Magnolia die. My sentiment is from LOTV and if you look really close you can see the tiny little rhinestones I added for holly berries. A white gel pen added highlights to the sweet little lambs and I also added additional snow flakes and highlights on the weeds.  Little rhinestone hearts in the center of my snowflakes and cute little star buttons finish off my card. I hope you like my 'attempt' at a night scene and I would appreciate any helpful hints you might have.
My Song: Early One Christmas Morn
Early one Christmas morning ever so long ago..
brightness of stars are falling down on the earth below...
Shepherd's and wise men  together offered their treasures its told
but yet there was one so humble who gave neither silver nor gold..
I am just a lonely shepherd boy no earthly riches have I
but the love and devotions I give thee will last till the waters run dry..
The gifts of the shepherd's and wise men all to the ashes have gone
but the love of the humble shepherd boy still on this Christmas lives on.

Christmas Carol!

I knew when I saw this cute sWhimsy  stamp that it needed to come to my house and play. Just so she wouldn't be lonely I also brought her brother to play also....oh, dear, I am so weak! I had a bit of time to just sit and play and so this is the card I came up with. I think I might have had a lace craze going on. I worked so hard to pick my papers and then I covered it up with my image and lace! I tried some new techniques with my coloring. I can tell they will take me a bit more practice before I have it down pat. I hope each of you are having a wonderful Saturday.
My Song: My Name Is Christmas Carol
I was playin Santa Claus downtown on Christmas Eve
When a little girl of three or four climbed up onto my knee
I could tell she had a Christmas wish behind those eyes of blue
So I asked her what's your name, and what can Santa git for you?
She said my name is Christmas Carol, I was born on Christmas Day
I don't know who my daddy is, and mommy's gone away.
All I want for Christmas is someone to take me home.
Does anybody want a Christmas Carol of their own?
Well all I could say was "Santa will do the best he could"
And I set her down and told her "now to remember to be good"
She said I will then walked away, turned and waved goodbye
And I'm glad she wasn't close enough to see ole Santa cry.
Early Christmas morning I got up and dialed the phone
I made a few arrangements at the County Children's home
And they told me it would be alright to pick her up today
Now my little Christmas Carol won't ever have to say
My name is Christmas Carol, I was born on Christmas Day
I don't know who my daddy is, and mommy's gone away.
All I want for Christmas is someone to take me home.
Does anybody want a Christmas Carol of their own?

A Veteran's Day Card!-God Bless each Vet!

We have a young man from our church (Dan) who is stationed in Afghanistan. One of the men in our church is a wood turner. (I hope that is the correct term!) He made this beautiful pen to send to Dan. The wood came from a tree that was cut down in the back of our church and the the wood bead in the center is from myrtle wood. One of our youths has chosen as her senior project to make these pens for all the veterans in our church. I made this card for Dan, it has a holder on the inside for the pen. I would like to say THANK YOU to all the men and women in our military and a big THANK YOU to all our Veterans! Also, kudos to Wayne and Lindsey...blessings to you for your hard work!
My Song: (Lee Greenwood)
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Fall Fairy & TPS Challenge!

When I first saw this cute TPS fairy, I just knew I had to make a fall card with her! Our challeng at THE PAPER SHELTER is 'Elves and  Fairies'. TPS has such a wide variety of both and all are such fun images to color. I wish my picture captured all the sparkle on this card. I added extra fine glitter to the wings and liguid glass to the paint and paint puddles. My ribbon is very sparkly  but just doesn't show up well in the phote. My flowers are die cut with a pearl brad in the center. I hope you will grab your favorite TPS image and join our fun challenge. I can't wait to see your lovely creations. Also,  the DT members have some beautiful cards to share with you!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: California Dreamin
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.
California dreaming
On such a winter's day

Christmas Is All In The Heart

I was thinking about Christmas today and what it means to me. For me it is family gathering together, the joy of watching the wonder on my grandson's faces, a special time to worship our Lord and creating memories for the heart. The world always seems a little softer at Christmas. This card made me think of all of this as I am wishing our family could be together this year. .... OK, now on to my card! I loved the 'blues' in this card. I dug out a Christmas pack of paper that I had from last year and had fogotten...shhhh...don't tell my husband! LOL! I used a Memory box die for the tree and then added glitter to the die cut. I am not sure you can see the sparkle?! By the time I had it adhered to my card I had sparkles and glue everywhere! I also used a Spica pen around the edge of my sentiment, and then added a white gel pen to the snowflakes and a rhinestone to the center. Just a fun card for my Christmas stash!
My Song: Christmas Is All In the Heart
In a one bedroom apartment on the humble side of town,
There stands a little Christmas tree, looks a lot like Charlie Brown's,
And underneath there's one little gift for him and one little gift for her.
After six months on the new job, they're still barely getting by,
 So in the way of decorations, there's nothing there to catch your eye;
But both of them would be the first to say:
We're together, we're gonna have the merriest Christmas anyway.
'Cause Christmas is all in the heart, that's where the feeling starts,
And like a fire inside, it touches every part,
'Cause Christmas is all in the heart,
And even if no white snow falls, that's all right  because
The joy can still be found, wherever you are,
'Cause Christmas is all in the heart

Appreciation Card! and a new Challenge!

Did everyone survive the trick or treaters? Love seeing those cute little ones with their parents! We didn't have many as most of our town is now doing "trunk or treat" so much safer for the kids! It is time for a new challenge at ABC! We are starting the alphabet again and so "A" for Appreciation is our challenge. I hope we see lots of cards in our challenge this time. We can always use a card in our stash saying thanks to someone! I made this card for a lady at church  who on the first Sunday of every month cooks breakfast for the teens in my Sunday School class! She is a fabulous cook and the kids look forward to having breakfast together. My image is from Stampfairy who is also sponsoring this fun challenge! I love their cute images and they have something for every special occasion! I added some 'puffy paint' for the snow on the sign posts and extra fine glitter to the snow! (I love all the sparkle!) My sentiment is from SU and I popped it up with foam. Red Stickles made my die cut poinsettia sparkle along with the sparkle brad in the center.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: People Need the Lord
Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eye;
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where.
On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear;
Laughter hides the silent cries
Only Jesus hears.
 People need the Lord,
People need the Lord;
At the end of broken dreams,
He's the open door.
People need the Lord,
People need the Lord;
When will we realize
People need the Lord.
