A Happy Birthday Card!

The inside of my card!

I just wanted to share this quick little card I made. This card is what I consider as CAS....well it is for me! I used some scrape pieces and I also chose "orange". I don't know why I seldom use orange but I always seem to like it when I do. This card went to a friend from church. I try to give each of our members a birthday card. Sometimes it is difficult for me to come up with 'guy' cards for the men in church. I thought this image form PM fit the bill. I hope you enjoy it and your week was filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Butterfly Kisses
There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
And she's daddy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried

Another Graduation Card!

A closer look at the image!
 A look at the details!
The left inside of the card!
The right inside of my card!
For some reason, I had thought I would not need any graduation cards this year. I guess the kids at church are growing up much too fast for me. Anyway, I spent today making four cards. Because I did not want to purchase another image that I only use once a year and then not every year. I used the same Saturated Canary image on all four cards. (Just warning you as I will be posting each card separate!) I tried to play with my dies and use them in different ways. I admire those wonderful craft artists who can manipulate their dies in unexpected ways. Anyway this card was composed of lots of scraps! I had just a bit of red ribbon, a pocket watch sticker and the DP all came from the scrap box. The inside sentiment if from "Our Daily Bread" and the other sentiment was from a close out bin. I colored my image with Copics and added some Stickles for sparkle. The flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: You Gave Me Love (BJ Thomas)
You gave me time when no one gave me time of day,
You looked deep inside while the rest of the world looked away,
You smiled at me when there were just frowns everywhere,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.
That's why I call You Saviour..... That's why I call You Friend,
You touched my heart..... You touched my soul,
And helped me start all over again,
That's why I love You, Jesus..... That's why I'll always care,
You gave me love when nobody gave me a prayer.

Graduation Time!

A closer look at the image!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Another look at the inside of my card!
One more look at my card!
A good friend of mine has two grandchildren that are graduating this year. She asked me to make cards for each of them. Both are graduating from the same High School and their colors are red and blue. Her granddaughter has always been called "Ladybug" so I decided to incorporate them on my card. Since I wanted to stick to the red and blue theme I went with white accents for the card. Some pretty rhinestones added sparkle to my card! The image is from Saturated Canary. I added a tuck in note for my friend to write a 'special note' and she also wanted to add her own sentiment to this card. I felt honored to be asked to make this special card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Whenever You Remember - Carrie Underwood
When you look back on times we had
I hope you smile
And know that through the good and through the bad
I was on your side when nobody could hold us down
We claimed the brightest star
And we, we came so far
And no they won't forget
Whenever you remember times gone by
Remember how we held our heads so high
When all this world was there for us
And we believed that we could touch the sky
Whenever you remember, I'll be there
Remember how we reached that dream together
Whenever you remember

"The Blue Bird of Happiness"

 A closer look!
 The image!
 One more look!
 The inside of my card!
I recently needed to make a dreaded "guy" card for a friend at church. If you follow my blog you know that I struggle with 'guy' cards. But, I found this fun stamp from "Art Impressions". I love this fun stamp and it makes a quick birthday card for those 'guys' you need a birthday wish for.  I used a dictionary print  DP that was in my stash and added a pretty rusty card stock. I cut both the image and the sentiment with a MB stitched die. A bit of scrap paper that is tore along the bottom edge and some brown rhinestones finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Bird of Paridise
One fine day as I was a-walkin' down the street
Spied a beggar man with rags upon his feet
Took a penny from my pocket
In his tin cup I did drop it
I heard him say as I made my retreat
"May the bird of paradise fly up your nose"
"May an elephant caress you with his toes"
"May your wife be plagued with runners in her hose"
"May the bird of paradise fly up your nose"

A pretty little girl came dancing by

The sweetest little thing
I ever, ever knew
Petticoat white and summer sky blue
The sweetest little thing I ever knew

"A Little Charm"

A closer look at the image!
 The fun sentiment!
I know that this is not a 'spring' image, but I love this image and find myself using it often! You can find this image here.  It is called "Cozy Winter Wishes". Our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER is "A Little Charm". We want to see a charm incorporated in your card design. With all the lovely charms there are out there it will be fun to see yours. I chose a little birdhouse from my stash.   My Sentiment is a freebie and I have to admit it made me smile. I hope your day is full of blessings! Hop on over and join our challenge!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Home Where I Belong
They say heaven's pretty and living here is too
But if they said, you're gonna have to choose between the two
I'd go home, going home where I belong
Sometimes when I'm dreaming it comes as no surprise
That if you look and see that homesick feeling in my eyes
I'm headed home, I'm going home where I belong
While I'm here I'll serve Him gladly and sing Him all these songs
I'm here, but not for long
When I'm feeling lonely, when I'm feeling blue
It's such a joy to know I am only passing through
I'm headed home, I'm going home where I'll finally belong

A Mother's Day Card for a Friend

 A pretty die cut flower!

 My card!

A closer look at my image from Sweet Pea Stamps!
 The fun sentiment from TLC!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I started the day off with a lovely breakfast at church and then home and a visit from both of my kids and the grand-kids. It is so much fun for me when they are all together. A much needed nap and then a quiet evening. I did some 'early'  crafting on Mother's 2:00 am and made this fun card. I fell in love with this fun sentiment and knew I had to share it with a special friend of mine. I had never used this cute image  from Sweet Pea Stamps and it was a quick color with my Copics. The paper is from my stash and is at least 10 years old. (Yes! I am a paper hoarder!) I used two new dies from Dutch Paper Crafts they are the nicest people to deal with and always have lovely, quality dies.  The lovely paper lace is created using an IO die. I used a small strip of my pink paper for the 'ribbon' across the top of the lace and added some pretty half pearls to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:"I'll Be There"
You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love
I'll be there
I'll reach out my hand to you
I'll have faith in all you do
Just call my name
And I'll be there

I just wanted to share this fun image from THE PAPER SHELTER with you. I was a bit concerned about the paper I chose but in the end (although it is a bit busy) it seems to work.(All of my DP came from my scrap box!) I was hoping the poppies would pull the colors together. I added an IO die cut lace and some pretty rhinestones for a wee bit of sparkle. You can find this image here ! If you are looking for images that are wonderful and you get the full package, jpg, png, colored, background paper, then check out THE PAPER SHELTER. use and you will be hooked, can become highly addictive.

My Song: Take My Hand Precious Lord
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I'm tired, I am weak I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry,
Hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet,
Hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

My card!
Do you think this cute little miss is just waiting for her true love to show up? I do! When I saw our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER was "Love Is In The Air", I knew this was going to be the the digi I would use. I chose a Memory Box heart die and added some white gel pen for the sentiment.  This die also includes the word "Love", which I outlined with a white gel pen. A spray of white roses and flat back pearls finished off my card. I hope you will play along with us in this fun challenge. You could be the next winner of a fabulous prize from "The Paper Shelter"! Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now

A Bit of Lavender

A closer look at the image.
 My pretty die cut boarder.
 A pretty nylon butterfly.
I colored this image from SC when my husband was last in the hospital. I have often wondered if stress effects our coloring or artistic abilities. When I biggie size this I could see so many 'flaws' in my will notice it is not "biggie sized". LOL! I still love the card and hope it will brighten someone's day. My paper came out of the scrap box. I added some pretty die cut lace and added some WOC two-tone roses. A pretty nylon butterfly and heart shaped rhinestones finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Nat King Cole)
They asked me how I knew
My true love was true?
I of course replied
"Something here inside,
Cannot be denied" They said someday you'll find
All who love are blind
When your heart's on fire
You must realize
Smoke gets in your eyes

Put Your Hand. . .

 Another look at my card.
A closer look at the image!
 My handmade flowers.
Does any one else feel like this year is racing by? Maybe it is just my age but it seems like time is passing so quickly. One of my dear friends soon to be daughter-in-law is being baptized this Sunday. She is such a sweet person and I wanted to give her a card that would let her know how special she is. I hope this card will convey to her that she is special in God's eyes. The DP I used is from an old pad that has long since lost it's cover. It is such pretty paper and I felt it really accented my image. My pretty flowers took me almost two days to make. LOL! Needless to say, I am not one of those who is proficient at making flowers. Maybe practice will make me perfect or at least faster!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Put Your Hand
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man

Birthday Wishs -Go Light Your World!

Isn't this just the cutest stamp. I have four new stamps from Dreamerland Crafts! This one is called "Keeping Company". I love stamps like this for 'guy' or 'boy' cards. I had a hard time photographing this card. I must admit I did use some 'dark' plaid paper. But it is much prettier IRL! Honest! My middle grandson turns eight on May 1st ...yep....he's a May Day baby! I think this card will be perfect for him. I added some cute little buttons, a die cut bike, and tag sentiments! A little plaid ribbon finished off my card! I colored the image with my Copic markers. They are my favorite medium to use because I can blend with them and it much like painting (another hobby of mine)!  I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Go Light Your World (Because Logan Lights Our World)
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
And there is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
Carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
