Don't Be Cruel!

OK! I admit it...this has been my mood lately! I always have to take time to process situations that come into my life and sometimes I don't handle things as well as I would like. This is usually the attitude I take when something has hurt me deeply. So talk to the bear! This is a Mo Manning image, don't you just love it? She does have attitude and I know that foot is just tapping away! I received a gift card from Hobby Lobby and I found this lovely pad of paper that is all texture. I love the blue and green together. The rhinestones are irridescent and really sparkle. Just a fun card to make and a fun image to color!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
You know I can be found,
sitting home all alone,
If you can't come around,
at least please telephone.
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
Baby, if I made you mad
for something I might have said,
Please, let's forget the past,
the future looks bright ahead,
Don't be cruel to a heart that's true.
I don't want no other love,
Baby it's just you I'm thinking of.

Summer Time Blues!

I decided to take an afternoon and play. I think I really needed some time to unwind and clear my mind. So I colored and played the afternoon away. First I grabbed this Saturated Canary image. As a teen and when my husband and I were first married, we often tubed down the river that flows through our town. It was great fun on a hot day to hop on a tube and spend a few hours floating down the river. It didn't cost anything and when you went with a group you always had lots of fun! This image took me back to those memories and so I colored it up today. I thought this paper was pretty wild for me, but I loved the bright summer colors. I used a die cut from All That Scraps for the starfish. I added a little tiny shell I found on the Oregon beach last summer, a pearl and a sea shell charm.
My Song:
I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler
About a workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby and ask to get a date
My boss says, "No dice, son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes, I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

A Special Birthday

I must say, I do like this card much better than the one I posted prior to this. Maybe because my design is better, or the fact I love the cheery yellow. It could be that I used the do-hicky die for the flowers for the first time. What ever it is I knew this card would make a special birthday  card for a dear friend of mine. I hope each of you are having a wonderful day and it is filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Martina McBride-I'm gonna love you through it
When you’re weak, I’ll be strong
When you let go, I’ll hold on
When you need to cry, I swear that I’ll be there to dry your eyes
When you feel lost and scared to death,
Like you can’t take one more step
Just take my hand, together we can do it
I’m gonna love you through it.

Strawberry Fields

Have you ever had a card that just would not come together no matter what you did to it? This is one of those cards. I don't know what it is about it, but it just does not look right. I like the image....and I like the papers, I even like my strawberry buttons, but somehow it just doesn't work. I decided that I would post this and see if anyone else has those days?
My Song: Strawberry Fields Forever
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.

CMC Guest Designer!!!

How about that blinkie? I was so excited and honored to be chosen the Guest Designer for this weeks challenge at CMC Challenge Group! My feet did the happy dance! So, then I started worrying about my coloring skills compared to all the lovely DT members. Not to worry I told myself, they encourage all skill levels in their challenges. Great! I was ready to hit the challenge running! BTW, the challenge "Big Hair". GROAN! If you follow my blog you will know that I have just recently complained sweetly commented, that I struggle with hair! LOL! Oh, well...it is important that I challenge myself! Right? Below is my card for the "Big Hair" CMC. I hope you will join in for this fun challenge and let me know how you liked my card. I chose a Saturated Canary image for my card. I colored the image with my Copic pens and also my half pearls. I just love that about Copics, don't you? Have a great day and blessings to each of you!

Inside of card!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Dolly Parton (she has big hair!) Hello God
Hello God, are you out there?
Can you hear me, are you listenin' any more?
Hello God, if we're still on speakin' terms
Can you help me like before?
I have questioned your existence,
My resistance leaves me cold
Can you help me go the distance? Hello God, hello, hello

By The Silvery Moon

Greetings everyone out there in blog land! I hope by the time you read this we are finally enjoying some beautiful summer weather. Here in Idaho it has been rainy, windy and cold, nothing like this card! Have you seen the new releases at All That Scraps? I think this release is the cutest ever! I also love the new C.C. Starfish and Shell set die cutter. I have also ordered the bubble boarder die, I just can't wait to play with it.
Now, on to my card for this month. My image is the 'Summer Emma', she is one of the new June releases. You can purchase her in rubber or as a digi. I tore some kraft paper for the sand and then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut ink pad. I knew I wanted to add a few posts that you often come across in the sand, so I used my favorite C.C. Fence Boarder die. This is where I really had fun! I cut the points of the pickets off and then stamped the fence with a crackle background stamp. I then flipped the fence and so the bottom was now the top! A couple of foam squares and I had just the look I wanted. If you are really observant you will see a bit of sea grass at the base of my posts. It must have been a die day for me, as I grabbed my C.C. Grass Boarder die and cut some shimmery cream paper for my grasses.
A strip of blue from my scrap box, for the sea and a round circle of the shimmery cream for the moon added to my ocean scene. I would like to tell you that I used the Starfish and Shell die but mine has not arrived yet. So, not to worry I also have the new 'Beachy Beatrice' stamp and I stamped her off and then cut out the starfish and sea shell.Hey! Whatever works at the time! I colored them with Copics and add Stickles for bling .To finish off my card I added some pretty flowers that I made with my Phlox Flower die and the Leafy Branch die. I hope each of you will find time to relax at your favorite spot this summer!
My Song: (it's an oldie)
By the light of the silvery moon, I want to spoon, to my honey I'll croon love's tune, Honeymoon keep a shining in June, Your silvery beams will bring love dreams, we'll be cuddling soon, By the silvery moon.

"Toad" al Romance!

Can you believe we are at the mid point in June? As you know that means it is time for another challenge at ABC. The time the letter is "R" for romance! We want to see romance in your cards.
I chose this fun little Saturated Canary. I thought it was all about romance! I added lots of layers all in white a few pearls and butterflies and I have completed my 'romantic' card. I hope  you will join us with this fun challenge. Be sure and hop on over to the other DT members blogs and see their fabulous entries. I hope your day is filled with blessings.
My Song: "Change of Heart"
I never planned to fall in love
I told her from the start
But she had that look in her eye
And I had a change of heart
I tried my best to say good bye
But every time I'd start
She'd get that look in her eye
And I'd have a change of heart

She Thinks We're just Fishin'

Have you ever had a card that is so much prettier IRL than it appears on the blog? That is the case with this card. We are having such a dark dreary day and the wind is blowing and sooooo cold, that I could not get a decent picture. This is my entry for Tilda Town this week. I have had this Tilda for a bit and just never had the chance to get her inked. I decided that today would be the day as it is too cold to go outside. This weeks challenge is a sketch and I did follow the sketch but added a bit of lace and flowers to my card. Have a happy Sunday! Blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Trace Adkins)
I’m lost in her there holdin’ that pink rod and reel
She’s doin’ almost everything but sittin’ still
Talkin’ ‘bout her ballet shoes and training wheels
And her kittens
And she thinks we’re just fishin’

You're Gonna Miss This

When I saw this image, it took me back to the days when my adult children were babies. I became proficient at multi-tasking. Then when I helped a sweet little friend with her twins for 6 weeks, I once again marveled at her multi-tasking with her two babies. She has recently moved to a new home and I wanted to send her a little card to let her know I was thinking of her. I think she will enjoy this one.
I hope your Sunday is filled with family and love...blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: You're Gonna Miss This!
She was starin' out the window of that SUV
Complainin' saying I cant wait to turn 18
I'll make my own money and I'll make my own rules
mama put the car in park out there in front of the school
and she kissed her head and said I was just like you
your gonna miss this
your gonna want this back
your gonna wish these days
hadn't gone by so fast
these are some good times
so take a good look around
you may not know it now
but your gonna miss this

Boundless Love

I had a bit of time to play after church today and so I dug out some Saturated Canary images. I wanted this card to look like it extended the entire page, so I tried (Amanda why don't you live close to me?) to pick some DP that would accomplish this. I added some pretty flowers from WOC and tried to keep them looking as though they were a part of the card. Flat back pearls and heart buttons finished off my card.
My Song: Boundless Love
BOUNDLESS LOVE, UNENDING JOY
THIS IS MY LIFE, IT’S WHAT I KNOW
I CAN’T BELIEVE, THAT HE SELECTED ME
JESUS MY LORD, IT’S YOU I OWE
HE KEEPS ME WHEN I’M WEARY
HE CAN HEAR ME WHEN I PRAY
HE’S EVEN THERE BESIDE ME WHEN I FALL
HIS LOVE SURROUNDS ME, EVEN WHEN I GO ASTRAY
I GUESS I HAVE TO SAY, THAT HE’S MY OWN

Tilda Town Challenge Card

Are you tired of of all these pictures? I think I had such a fun time making this card that I wanted to share every detail of the card. This Magnolia stamp is called "Swiss Tilda". I used a mask and stamped the Magnolia fence and then decided to add one more Magnolia stamp with the Apple Basket stamp. I colored Tilda with Copics and used a Spica pen to add some sparkle to her lovely hat and apron. I used a Copic liner and added some extra blades of grass under the fence. My flowers are from WOC. I loved my sheer ribbon and added a copper butterfly charm to finish off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Elvis) You'll Never Walk Alone
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown,
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Your a Grand Old Flag

I have to tell you, I had nothing but fun making this card. I this this image is adorable...it is a Mo Manning digi. I have a good friend, whose birthday is in July and I made this card for her. In June we have a "Cherry Festival". At one time it was a celebration of the orchards in our valley. Unfortunately, they have all been pulled out and housing subdivisions now take the place of the orchards. Anyway, we have a week of festivities, including an old fashioned parade. Most of the little kids sit along the curbs of our Main street and wait for candy to be thrown to them. It is great fun and brings out crowds of people. Ok... back to my card....I used the LOTV mini tags for my sentiment...I am really enjoying those tags. I also added some brad pin wheels, a double ribbon  and lots of paper lace.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: "Your A Grand Old Flag"
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Heartbreaker!

I have had a busy week and I finally sat down and took some time to put a couple of cards together. This is another image from Kenny K's Glam Girls, this is 'Sweet Melissa'. I am trying to practice my hair coloring. It is always a challenge for me. I am trying to break my habit of over blending and tyring to keep my highlight areas pristine! I don't know why that is so hard for me. My hearts are a MS punch....just love that punch and I added a pretty little flower lace to the ribbon band. I had some cute little button brads that I colored with my Copics that I centered in each flower. A memory box boarder finishes off my card! If anyone wants to give me some pointers on coloring hair I am all ears.
I am entering this card at the following challenges;
My Song: Elvis
Well, since my baby left me
I found a new place to dwell.
It's down the end of lonely street
At heartbreak hotel!

Quilted Card!

Can you believe it? Another month has passed and it is time for another ABC challenge! Our letter for this month is "Q" and the challenge is "Quilted". This is a great way to use up those scraps. We are sponsered by  Bugaboo Stamps. They are always so generous with their prizes. They have some fantastic digi's to choose from. I chose the "Baseball SB Safe" image for my card. I kept to primary colors for my card and hand stitched each square....very labor intensive. I added some stars and mini-tag sentiments. I hope you will join us at ABC's challenge! Please take the time to check out the DT cards, they are awesome!
My Song: Remember When
Remember when I was young and so were you
And time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
