Diamonds Girl

Can you believe another week has passed and it is once again time for a challenge at KKKG's?
This week should be a favorite "Sparkle and Bling". This week Team "A" is showing you the fabulous Christmas releases. There is something for everyone! So grab that glitter, glue, rhinestones, and any thing that sparkles and enter our challenge this week. Kenny K is offering 5 free digi's to the lucky winner .
My Song: "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend"
"The French are glad to die for love,
They delight in fighting duels,
But I prefer a man who lives and gives
Expensive jewels.
A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girl's best friend
A kiss may be grand... but it won't pay the rental on your humble flat
Or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square cut or pear shape these rocks don't lose their shape
Diamonds are a girl's best friend

IN The Pink!

I loved the pink in this card...it just looks soft and makes you think of a snowy night. This is an older LOTV image and I used a snowflake folder to emboss it. I added a little touch of glitter to the snow and the candle light. I used my Marianne dies to cut my snow flakes out and popped them with foam. i added a pink pearl to the center of each. All my paper is from the scrap box. I think I like a 'pink' Christmas card!
My Song: "He Knows My Name"
I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call

Non-Traditional Christmas Cards

I knew when I started coloring this image from Saturated Canary that I would make a non traditional colored card. The DP is from Around the Block. and I faux stitched it. I used my Marianne Dies for the poinsettias. I popped the the flower layers with foam and added pearls. A little Spica pen is the only sparkle my card has....can you believe it!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Happy Birthday Jesus!
Happy birthday, Jesus, it's that time of year
All the lights on the trees say Christmas time is near
Another year's behind us, you helped us make it through
So, happy birthday, Jesus, this song is just for you

Don't Fall!

I think this is one of my favorite images from LOTV.  He looks so cute all bundled up and his puppy is having fun also. I cut and framed this image with a Spellbinders die. I used the same size die and just drew around it and cut it out by hand for the frame. I added some snow flake buttons and a pretty gingham bow. I also used VIVA pearls on the falling snow. I added a fine glitter to the snow hill. Just another card for the Christmas card stash.
My Song: "Kiss Me When I Fall"
You gonna kiss me when I fall?
Will I'll end here in your arms
Oh baby look at me
I'm out on the ledge thinking on jumping
But I need to know before I risk it all
You gonna kiss me when I fall?

Praying for You

I made this card for a special friend of mine. She has been on dialysis for over a year. She had to have a surgery yesterday that was very serious. I am happy to report she came through with flying colors. I took the card to the hospital for a visit and she loved it. Isn't it funny how the smallest things can brighten someones day? There is nothing special or different about this card. But I did have fun coloring it. I also stamped the leaves and cut them out for an edging on my envelope.
My Song: "Home Where I  Belong" (BJ Thomas)
They say that heavens pretty, and living here is too.
But if they said that I would have to choose between the two.
I'd go home, going home, where I belong.
While I'm here I'll serve him gladly, and sing him all my songs.
I'm here,but not for long.
And when I'm feeling lonely, and when I'm feeling blue.
It's such a joy to know that I am only passing through.
I'm headed home, going home, where I belong.
I hope your day was filled with blessings!

A Beary Merry Christmas!

I did have fun with this card. The image is a LOTV and I think he is so cute! I colored the image with Copics. I am still trying to come up with the perfect red combinations. I didn't have any of the 'puffy paint' so I used my VIVA pearls on the snow that is falling. I must gett some of the puffy paint and would love to hear from you which brand to get. I added a bit of glitter to the bear's hat and some of the snow. I used a MS punch on the edge and my holly leaves are from a very old, cheap punch. I used my stylus to make the vein in the center and then added a red pearl. I also used my Crop-A-Dial to emboss the red. I am enter this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Winter Snow by Chris Tomlin
Could've come like a mighty storm
With the strength of a hurricane
You could've come like a forest fire
With the power of Heaven in your flame
But you came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in night
To the earth below!

Filled With Happiness

This is my card for the new challenge at Saturated Canary. You may have noticed I am a big Krista Smith fan and I love her art work. I think this is such a cute image and wanted to color it up. The challenge is to use 1 image, 2 designer papers, 3 embellishments. My embellishments are two vintage buttons and a ribbon. I colored the image with Copics and used a MS punch for the lace. The DP is from Color Block. I added a ticket sentiment to finish off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (Happiness Is the Lord)
Happiness is to know the Savior
Living a life within His favor,
Having a change in my behavior
Happinesss is the Lord

Happiness is a new creation
Jesus in me in close relation
Having a part in His salvation
Happiness is the Lord
Real joy is mine
No matter if teardrops start,
I've found the secret --
It's Jesus in my heart!

As you can tell I love coloring this image. I don't think she was intended to be a Christmas image but she does work for one...don't you think? I colored her with Copics and and added glitter to her wings. She really does sparkle but for some reason the sparkle doesn't photo well! I added a LOTV sentiment and used a new SU embossing folder. Just another Christmas card to add to my stash!
My Song: The Christmas Hope (Newsong)
Her wish this Christmas
Was that Christmas would just pass her by
Nothing could reach her
Or answer her questions why
She feels so alone
And she wonders if all hope is gone
Hope is a candle
A light in the window
Showing the way for
A heart to come home
Hope is a Savior
Who was born in the manger
Sent down from Heaven
To rescue our hearts
Our Christmas hope

A precious gift on the Chrstmas tree!

I am having a few blogger issues tonight, so I will see if I can get this posting done! Don't know where my day went, but it it was over much too fast. I love this cute image from LOTV. I followed the sketch at Mojo Monday (well almost). My DP is from SU and I love it. This is one sheet that is double sided!
I framed the image with a Spellbinders die. I used a soft blue chalk to add sky color before I popped it out of the die. I added some glitter to the snow, snowflake buttons and a glove button to the tag. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It's The Thought (Twila Paris)
Something special for someone on our mind
And we think of friends and family
As we hang our gifts upon the tree.
And a loving thought sent a snow white lamb
To a little town known as Bethlehem
And the little lamb thought of you and me
As he hung His precious gift on the Christmas tree.

Christmas Wreath

I had to show you all my project for the day. My DBL has this wonderful tree that is loaded with beautiful acorns. He was so sweet and brought me in a sack full. I decided to make a holiday wreath with them. I bought a wreath at the Dollar store and some holiday picks. (Which I promptly took apart.) Armed with my hot glue gun I started creating my wreath. Three small blisters (the love/hate relationship with my glue gun) I had this lovely wreath. Well, I think it is lovely. It cost me a total of $7.00 dollars. I know if I were to buy this ready-made it would be lots more! So, I have something new for the holidays and all the more special because it is home made!
My husband said I could use the song "Acorns Roasting On An Open Fire" . He is SOOOOO not into Christmas! I hope your Monday is a good one! Blessings!

Feeling A Little Dotty!

It is another fun challenge at KKKG's this week! The challenge is Polk A Dots! I always love playing with polk a dots. I used my Copics to color this image called "Troublemaker". I found some polk a dot  paper in my scrap box. I then used a polk a dot embossing folder to emboss a piece of card stock. I added a polk a dot ribbon.  I used my Die-namic die to cut my rolled roses and then added a pearl to the center. The roses are out of the polk a dot paper, but once they were rolled they really didn't show the polk a dots that well. Kenny K is donating five digis of your choice. Also,   is offerig a $15.00 gift certificate! So ink up your favorite Kenny K image and get a bit dotty!
The Song:
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was as nervous as she could be
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was afraid that somebody would see
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore

It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the locker she wanted to stay
Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more
( I wanted my song to be "Polk A Dot")

"Great Is Your Reward!"

I really wish I could take a good picture of this card. It is so much prettier IRL! Honest! I made this card for a special little friend at church. She is nine years old and was just baptized last Sunday. It was special for me to watch her be baptized as I have watched her grow from a small toddler. I wanted her to know how special she is and this card with a little gift is going her way tomorrow. The image is a free coloring page from Precious Moments. I colored it with Copics, and glued some half pearls ton her shell.  I used a Magnolia dohicky for the flowers and leaves.  and added a pink checked brad to the center. I also sponged the edges with pink ink. A MS boarder heart punch and and some embossing with my crop-a-dile finished off the front of my card. I used some Cherrylynn dies for the butterflies and my sentiment is from Heartfelt.
My Song: (Point of Grace- Not That Far From Bethlehem)
Underneath the stars
Just a simple man and wife
Somewhere in the dark
His words cut the silent night
Take my hand, for the child
That you carry is God's own
And though it seems the road is long

We're not that far from Bethlehem
Where all our hope and joy begins
For in our arms we'll cherish him
We're not that far from Bethlehem

Christmas Eve Surprise

This is Krista Smiths latest image....isn't she cute? I couldn't wait to get her colored up and made into a card. I have a dear friend "across the pond" and this is going out to her! She and I have mail issues and I am not going to take a chance on her 'Christmas' card not reaching her. Don't laugh it could take that long. We have never figured out if the problem lies on my side of the pond or on hers. Anyway, I didn't do anything new or different on this card so I won't bore you with the details. I hope you are having a great Saturday....Yeah! Boise State Broncos won today. Blessings to each of you....Shirley don't be peeking at your card! LOL!
My Song: (One of My Favorites)
Sure he must have been surprised
At where this road had taken him
'Cause never in a million lives
Would he had dreamed of Bethlehem
And standing at the manger
He saw with his own eyes
The message from the angel come to life
And Joseph said...

(CHORUS)
Why me, I'm just a simple man of trade
Why Him, with all the rulers in the world
Why here inside this stable filled with hay
Why her, she's just an ordinary girl
Now I'm not one to second guess what angels have to say
But this is such a strange way to save the world

Me & My Teddy Bear!

I dusted off an old stamp (well from last year?) for this card! I wanted to play at the LOTV bingo this week. This is the first time I have played a bingo game and it was fun! My Bingo was pins, flowers and embossing! I colored my cute image with Copics and framed it with a Spellbinders die. I added WOC roses and used a Cherrylynn die for the leaves. I added a ribbon and my pins to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: "Me and My Teddy Bear!
Me and my teddy bear
Gots no worries, gots no cares!
Me and my teddy bear
We play and play all day!
(My daughter was three when she danced to this at her first ballet recital!)

Joy is in us!

This is a simple card, but I had such fun coloring it. This is another fabulous image from Mo Manning. I love her Christmas images this year. I colored the image with Copics. I added glitter and "Polar Ice" to the muff. Doesn't it look fluffy! I added a seam binding bow and a sentiment from SU. Two snowflake buttons finished off my card. This is it for me today...I am off for election training so I can work at the polls. Have a great day....it is almost Friday.
My Song: "Joy To The World"
Joy to the world the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Go Light Your World"

I am still learning about merging images. This is three images merged. I think like everything else it takes practice.  I also don't know why my reds are looking so orange IRL they are red. (A photographer I will never be!) I think Mo Manning has some wonderful holiday images. I colored this image with Copics. I added liquid glass to the lamp post light and glitter to the snow. I used my Cherrylynn dies for the poinsettias and added pearls to the centers. A double Christmas ribbon bow finishes off this Christmas card.
My Song: Go Light Your World
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit that brings a fire
Ignites a candle and make His home
So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, go light your world!

May you be the light in someones life today! Blessings!

"Let It Be Christmas"

I am starting to get into Christmas card making as I like to have a good selection in my stash to hand out. I love this little image from Krista Smith. I colored the image with Copics, added Spica pen to the snow flakes and added glitter to the snow. A snowflake boarder, half pearls, and  a ticket sentiment finishes off this fun little card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

The Song--by Alan Jackson
Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing, let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere.

"This Is Christmas"

I took a bit of time to color today as my fingers were just itching to color this cute image from Mo Manning. There is something wistful about this little caroler. My card is very simple. I used a MS boarder punch and a die cut for the snowflake. I added Stickles to my snowflake for a bit of sparkle.
A little Christmas ribbon and sparkle on the snow finished off my card.
My Song: This Is Christmas
Don't be discouraged
Don't be dismayed
There's hope for all in this world
Cause this is Christmas day
Say A little prayer for the world
God Teach us love
though you think he doesn't hear
I know he does.
This is Christmas
Let the world sing
Let a soul began to heal
Hallelujah this is Christmas
And with love we can began today

First I want to say thanks to all who entered the ABC's first challenge. I in in awe at the fabulous cards that were submitted. What a fun two weeks for me to get to visit some of your blogs. The next two weeks our challenge is "B" for Boo! or a little scary! After seeing all the lovely DT cards by my fellow DT members, I know we are going to have fun with this one. I added liquid glass to the spider and some google eyes. A couple of batty brads (say that three times without stopping!) So, grab those scary images (or not so scary) and enter the challenge at http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ and join in the fun! Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday

"Trick or Treat"

Another set of Halloween cards for the grandsons. This is another image from Just Inklined. I think the "Count" is quiet cute....and his bite doesn't look so bad! Ha! I colored this image with Copics. My DP is from DCWV. I used a MS punch for my blood drips and a cute ribbon to finish off my card. I am working on some test tubes that I am decorating and filling with red jellybeans (drops of blood.) that I will send along with the card. Just something fun for the grand kids!

The song: Walkin' After Midnight
I go out walkin'
After midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I'm always walkin'
After midnight
searching for you

"Believe All Things Are Possible"

I love this little image from Krista Smith she is called "Ivy".  My DH says she looks a lot like me! (Well, me 45 years ago, now it's Marge that comes to mind!) LOL! Anyway I wanted to play at Joan's Garden this week. It is "Hope you can cling to! You are supposed to make a 'girly' card with lace ribbon, pearls...any girly thing you want! This is my take on the challenge. I used paper from an old K & Company pad...I think it is about three years old (yes, I do hoard paper!) I used a Spellbinders die to cut and frame the image. I added paper lace with MS punch, I added ribbon, mulberry flowers and a ticket sentiment to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:
In the cool of the evening
when ev'rything is gettin' kind of groovy,
I call you up and ask you if you want to go
and meet and see a movie.
First you say no, you've got some plans for the night,
And then you stop, and say, "All right."
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.

"His Eye Is On The Sparrow"

This is another new image from Mo Manning. Don't you just love her new Christmas images? She is a very talented artist. I just needed a quiet time to do a bit of coloring and escape from the world today. I set up for a funeral dinner at our church and so a color escape was nice for me. There is nothing really new or special about this card, just a new  one for the Christmas stash!
My Song:
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

"Saying Good-by to Summer"

This is a free image and can be found here http://www.coloringbook4kids.com . There are some really cute images there. I will probably do another of this image in a card so I can send them to the grandsons. I love this time of year and all the beauty of the leaves. I am truly blessed to live where I do, as we enjoy all four seasons. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

The Song:
I was little boy lost, and I was little boy blue
I am little Jack Frost and but I am warm through and through
It's not easy to hide when your heart's on full view
Oh, tonight, cruel world be forgiving
Oh, for once in my life I am living
