Let Snow!

I love Wee Stamps and this sweet image is no exception. After our long, long, hot, hot, hot, summer I am ready for winter. We had lots of snow last year and I really hope we get lots this year. I know I am not in the majority of hoping but hey once in a while you have to step outside the box! LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth
To touch their harps of gold!
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From heaven's all gracious King!
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.

Colors of Autumn/Fall

A closer look.

the inside of my card.

Fall colors are my favorite. I love this time of year with the leaves all golden brown, Cooler temperatures make it nice for walking. Then just around the corner is the holidays.  So, The Paper Shelter is having a new challenge using the colors of Autumn or Fall. I chose "Keeper of My Enchanted Forest". I have colored her many times and always love doing so! I used my favorite Copics to color, added some pretty die cuts, rhinestones, a hand-made flower, a felt leaf with a cute button.  So join the fun and show us your colors.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: California Dreamin' (Momma's and the Poppa's)
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day
Stopped into a church
I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees
And I pretend to pray
You know the preacher like the cold
He knows I'm gonna stay
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day

Christmas Don't Be Late!

I am officially in love with this penguin from Whimsy. He is so cute and just makes me smile. Hey, we can all use some smiles. I colored him with Copics and added liquid pearls for snow and extra-fine glitter to the snow. I wish the picture showed it better.  The die cut is from Stamping Up and I added a pearl to dress the bow up.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Chipmunk Song (Yes! I know this is a penguin!)
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
Want a plane that loops the loop
I still want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.

A Time for Love

 A Closer look!
I love this sweet stamp from LOTV. It is colored with Copics and I added liquid glass to the carrots and the reindeer's nose. (I even put a little glow around the nose!) Some extra fine glitter to the snow and the withe fur on the little girls cap. A little liquid glass to the snow boots and a pretty die cut finished off this Christmas card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: How Many Kings
Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we've projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother's shawl
Just a child
Is this who we've waited for?
'Cause how many kings step down from their thrones
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

When Love Was Born

A closer look at the stamp!
 The die cut!
One more Christmas card for the stash. Again I am using a stamp from LOTV.  I colored the stamp with Copics. I added some tiny rhinestones to the snowflakes and liquid glass to the star. I also colored my die cut. I am not sure I like the look but it was something different to try. LOL!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: When Love was Born (Mark Schultz)
Starlight shines, the night is still
Shepherds watch from a hill
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born
Perfect child gently waits
A mother bends to kiss God's face
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born
Angels fill the midnight sky, they sing
Hallelujah, He is Christ, our King
Emmanuel, Prince of peace
Loves come down for you and me
Heaven's gift, the holy spark
To let the way inside our hearts
Bethlehem, through your small door
Came the hope we've waited for
The world was changed forevermore
When love was born
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfunkle)
When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part, oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Reach Out and Touch

 A closer look.
I love this sweet stamp from LOTV. I was reminded recently that God presents us with so many opportunities  to reach out and help someone in need. It can be something small but the opportunity is there if we just look for it. I am praying that my eyes and heart will be open to helping others.
I hope you like my Christmas card and that you are getting yours ready for the Christmas season!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Reach Out and Touch (Diana Ross)
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way
Or would I be talking to a stone
If I asked you
To share a problem that's not your own
We can change things if we start giving
Why don't you
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can

The Hammer

I needed a 'guy' birthday card. As you know I hate making guy cards. They are so hard for me and my brain instantly freezes. This was the best I could come up with . I do think the stamp from Cute As A Button is so cute and it will work great for this card. (I think)
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Hammer (Ray Boltz)
I was in the crowd
The day that Jesus died
And as He hung upon the cross
His mother cried
I saw the crown of thorns He wore
The stripes upon His back
The water and the blood ran out
And then the sky turned black
My mind was filled with anger
My heart was filled with shame
This man brought only healing
Who could bring Him pain
Why does it seem the strong
Always victimize the weak?
And suddenly I found myself
Standing to my feet
And I cried, "Who nailed Him there?
This Child of peace and mercy
Who nailed Him there?
Come and face me like a man
Who nailed Him there?"
And the crowd began to mock me
I cried, "Oh my God, I do not understand"
Then I turned and saw the hammer
In my hand
I am just a Roman soldier
An ordinary man
I love my wife and children
I do the best I can
How could I have killed Him?
It must be someone else
There's got to be an answer
I just can't blame myself
And I cried, "Who nailed Him there?
This Child of peace and mercy
Who nailed Him there?
Come and face me like a man
Who nailed Him there?"
And the crowd began to mock me
I cried, "Oh my God, I do not understand"
Then I turned and saw the hammer
In my hand
I nailed Him there
The child of peace and mercy
I nailed Him there
I am the guilty man
I nailed Him there
With my sins and my transgressions
I cried, "Oh my God, now I understand
When I turned and saw the hammer in my hand"

Climb Every Mountain

I was asked to make a graduation card. I know this is an odd time for a graduation card, but if it was needed it was needed. I chose this cute digi from Cute As A Button.
I was asked to make this card, fun, non traditional and girly. I hope I have achieved all of that. I struggle with cards that are commissioned and when I don't know anything about the person I am making it for. What do you do with cards like this? I would love to know how you handle it.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Climb Every Mountain (Jordan Smith)
Climb every mountain
Search high and low
Follow every byway
Every path you know
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
'Till you find your dream
A dream that will need
All the love you can give
Every day of your life
For as long as you live
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
'Till you find your dream

Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name

Summer Time

I am hoping that by the time this card posts we will be into fall weather. It is the 1st of September and 101 today. I am so over summer and this heat. The grandsons are hot in their classrooms at school and football weather has been hard on the players. So Good by summer and hello fall!
I have had this stamp from SC for a long time and never colored her. I was feeling so hot today that I decided to color it. I can always use her next summer for a summer birthday! The pretty die cut is from Heartfelt Creations and the little pink flowers are from Queen & Co.
Another birthday card for the stash!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Summertime (Ella Fitzgerald)
Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush, little baby, don't you cry
One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But till that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With daddy and mammy standin' by
One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But till that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With daddy and mammy standin' by

Embossing of Anykind!

I think embossing is so pretty and I am always forgetting to do it. So when I found out that the challenge for The Paper Shelter this week is "Embossing of Any Kind". I used a dry embossing and heat embossing on my card. I wish I had used silver embossing on my sentiment but I used a crystal embossing powder. My cute little stamp can be found here and she is called "Catharine".  I colored her with Copics and fussy cut her and popped her a bit so she would stand out on the card. I add a double row of rhinestones for a bit of sparkle! Easy-peasy so please join in the fun at The Paper Shelter Challenge.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion)
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you, go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you, go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart and my heart will go on and on
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold you
In my life we'll always go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and my heart will go on and on

My Girl

A dear friend of mine gave me this stamp. She started last this spring making cards. I have been her 'teacher' and I am so proud of how fast she has grown. Her cards are truly lovely. So Nan start posting to your blog and let the world see what you have accomplished.
I usually don't do dark cards but somehow it worked with this sweet stamp. Besides I have to keep learning if I want to keep up with my friend.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: My Girl
She looks so pretty with no makeup on
You should hear her talkin' to her momma on phone
I love it when she raps to an Eminem song
That's my girl
Man her eyes really drive me crazy
You should see her smile when she holds a baby
I can honestly say that she saved me
My girl, yeah
Yeah that's my girl
In the passenger seat, windows down dancing around
Causin' a scene, that's my girl
Sippin' crown and sprite, in a ball cap turned back
Ooh she got me like
Yeah baby girl you gone and done it again
Makin' all the guys wish you were with them
But I bet they don't see what I see when I see my girl
Every night before she goes to bed
She hits her knees and bows her head
Thanks the Lord for another day
I just thank him for my girl

Happy Christmas

 A closer look!
Lily of The Valley is now selling digi stamps. I love their new Christmas stamps. This is one I just purchased. The stamp is colored with Copics and I added extra fine glitter to the girls cap and the snow. I added a pearl and some wooden Christmas trees and a snowman. This card will be going to Georgia for my brother to use. (He will think it is a bit girlie but he can deal with that! LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Happy Christmas (John Lennon)
O this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Christmas
And a happy new year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

Thinking of You!

I am sending this card to an old friend. Her dear husband is in the hospital with cancer. Things are pretty grim right now and it is touch and go day to day. We often don't think when we are young how we are creating memories and the days we will never get back. It seems like suddenly life is about over and it went too fast. Usually, card making is therapeutic but this card was hard to make. I guess I am not good at good-byes.
I chose to do a white on white card and added embossing and layers to make it look elegant. I added pearls do glam it up. I encourage each of you to reach out to an old friend today and let them know you still care.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: My Heart Will Go On (Celine Deon)
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you, go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you, go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart and my heart will go on and on
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold you
In my life we'll always go on

"I Believe"

This is the final card from my Heartfelt Kit. I think it is my favorite. I again colored it with my Copics. (The instructions have you just sponge color on, but I like the look with Copics!) It is a beautiful Card and will soon make its way to Georgia for my brother to use for his Christmas greetings.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: I Believe (Elvis Presley)
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
To show the way
I believe, I believe
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word
Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe
Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

A Hallelujah Christmas!

Isn't it funny a card that I thought would quick and simple to make took forever? I'm still not sure I am happy with this one but as they say, "It is what it is!". I do love the die cut which is a SU die cut. It is already a favorite and I love the pine cones and pine branches and the cute bow. So much fun!
Another Christmas card for the stash. I am trying to stay ahead of the game this year. But, I usually have all my cards for Christmas made by July. LOL!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Hallelujah Christmas
I've heard about this baby boy
Who's come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I'm singing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God's only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You'll find Him in a manger bed
Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A star shown bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the wisemen three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Paper Crafting!

Have you ever had a vision of a card in your head but then when you created it somehow it didn't turn out how you expected it?. That is what happened to me on this card. LOL! The darling stamp is from The Paper Shelter and is called A Papercraft Fun! You can find this stamp here! I will tell you her work area is much neater than mine when I am creating. I had intended my card to look as if you were peeking through a window watching an artist create. Somehow, I missed that mark. I used a Heartfelt die for my window.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Tapestry (Carole King)
My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue
An everlasting vision of the ever-changing view
A wondrous, woven magic in bits of blue and gold
A tapestry to feel and see, impossible to hold
Once amid the soft silver sadness in the sky
There came a man of fortune, a drifter passing by
He wore a torn and tattered cloth around his leathered hide
And a coat of many colors, yellow-green on either side
He moved with some uncertainty, as if he didn't know
Just what he was there for, or where he ought to go
Once he reached for something golden hanging from a tree
And his hand came down empty
Soon within my tapestry along the rutted road
He sat down on a river rock and turned into a toad
It seemed that he had fallen into someone's wicked spell
And I wept to see him suffer, though I didn't know him well
As I watched in sorrow, there suddenly appeared
A figure gray and ghostly beneath a flowing beard
In times of deepest darkness, I've seen him dressed in black
Now my tapestry's unraveling - he's come to take me back
He's come to take me back
