Animal Magic - A new Challenge at The Paper Shelter

This is one of the many new images at The Paper Shelter she is called Penguins Friends. You can click on the link and go directly to the store. I apologize that the pictures are not better. We have had such dark and dreary days that it is impossible to get good light to take pictures with. My ott lamp broke and I have yet to replace it. I have a dear friend that loves penguins and I think this card may have to find it's way to her house.  It is time for a new challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER .
Our new challenge is Animal Magic! We need to see an animal on our creation for our challenge. If you use an image from The Paper Shelter you can win a prize of $30 to spend at their store. This would give you a wonderful selection to add to your collection. So hop on over and join the fun!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: "Run Around Sue" (Dion)
Here's my story, sad but true
It's about a girl that I once knew
She took my love then ran around
With every single guy in town
Ah, I should have known it from the very start
This girl will leave me with a broken heart
Now listen people what I'm telling you
A-keep away from-a Runaround Sue

Love Lifted Me

 The face of my card
The inside of my card!
A closer look at the stamp!
This is my second card requested by a friend. I used another IO stamp. I love how she is floating on the balloon with the tiny little high heel shoes. She is having a great Valentine's Day, wouldn't you say? I am not sure what caused the shadow across her arms, but I promise she is not colored that way! I did pop her arms with a tiny  foam dot, so I am thinking that is what caused the shadow. But the card was already on it's way to the intended recipient so I couldn't retake the picture. The cute little cupid on the inside of the card is another IO stamp.  I did fussy cut the balloon and popped it with a foam square and then added the string to the balloon for her to ride on. Some pretty heart rhinestones from Queen & Co. added some sparkle, and some Stickles added the extra touch of sparkle.  Flowers from WOC and some glassy accents finished off this fun card.
My Song:  Love Lifted Me
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more,
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!
All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I’ll cling
In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing,
Love so mighty and so true, merits my soul’s best songs,
Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

A Little Birthday and a Little Valentine!

I bought a few new digi's from Sweet Escape. I thought this one was so pretty and I liked the challenge of the hair on this one. I am still practicing my 'flicks' as taught by Alyce at Kit and Clowder. If you have never taken a class from her I would encourage you to do so!  Anyhow, even though this was a Valentine image I thought it would work for a birthday card also. Some pretty flowers from WOC and sparkly hearts from Queen and Co. were all the extra embellishments this card needed. The left hand sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy (love there stamps) and the right side is an "old" birthday stamp.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Key Largo
  1. Wrapped around each other
Trying so hard to stay warm
    That first cold winter together
    Lying in each others arms
    Watching those old movies
    Falling in love so desperately
    Honey I was your hero
And you were my leading lady.
  2. We had it all
    Just like Bogie and Bacall
Starring in our old late, late show
    Sailing away to Key Largo

"B" is for Anything "B"

First I want to say  "Happy Birthday" to my sweet husband! I hope your birthday is a wonderful one and that you enjoy many, many more!  Today is also time for  a new challenge at ABC Challenge we are on the letter "B" So we want to see anything that begins with a "B". For example, on my card I have brown, bows, buttons, blue, and birds! See how it works? This should be fun and easy for you. Ours lovely sponsor is Polkadoodles. Please use this link and check out the fun images she has to offer. I colored this fun image with Copics. I used an embossing folder for my brown strip of 'chicken wire". A little 'Spica' pen added some sparkle to the chicken wire. Isn't this just the funnest image? A brown bow and some cute daisy buttons finished off my card. Please join us for this fun challenge.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: "Just Like Them Horses" Rea McIntire
She held him close, then she kissed his face
He said it just has to be this way
Yours is the heart I'll always keep
I'm not gone even if I leave
If you love me, don't you be afraid
To look in my eyes and open up the gate
Then watch me ride beneath a newborn sun
Just like them horses
When it's time to run

Looking for Love!

The front of my card!
A closer look at the IO stamp
A closer look at the outside sentiment!
The inside of my card.
First I want to say Happy Valentine's Day to my husband. I hope you like this song!
I Had a request to make three cards for a friend to give to some special people in her life. She wanted them to be fun! This is the first card I came up with. I love the sentiment on the front of the card. You do have to smile at this image and the sentiment just finishes it off. A few die cut hearts and some pretty glittery ribbon. My pretty rhinestone hearts are from Queen & Co. I do love their products! A bit of twin woven in my hearts added a bit of interest to the sentiments. The  stamp is an IO stamp.  I hope each of you have a wonderful, love filled Valentines Day!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:When God Made You (Newsong)
Its always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last for ever
But now that I have found you I believe
That A miracle has come
When God sends the perfect one
Now gone are all my questions about why
And I've never been so sure of anything
In my life
Oh I wonder what God
Was thinking
When he created you
I wonder if he
Knew everything I would need
Because he made all my dreams come true
When God made You
He must have been thinking about me

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: He's A Tramp (Peggy Lee)
(We went to the movie "Lady and the Tramp" for our 1st date!)
He's a tramp, but they love him.
Breaks a new heart every day.
He's a tramp, they adore him.
And I only hope he'll stay that way...
He's a tramp, he's a scoundrel
He's a rounder, he's a cad
He's a tramp, but I love him.
Yes, even I have got it pretty bad.
You can never tell when he'll show up.
He gives you plenty of trouble.
I guess he's just a no-count pup
But I wish that he were double.
He's a tramp, he's a rover
And there's nothing more to say.
If he's a tramp, he's a good one
And I wish that I could travel his way...
Wish that I could travel his way...
Wish that I could travel his way...

"A" Is For Animals

I have neglected my Magnolia stamps lately. Actually, it has been hard since Christmas to find time to craft. Life has a way of getting in the way of my time to relax and play. So, I was thrilled to have Magnolia-licious
as our lovely sponsor for this challenge! At ABC Challenge we are starting at the first of the alphabet! Our letter is "A" and the challenge is "A is for Animals".  I have a sweet little girl at church that this card will go to. She loves horses and is taking riding lessons now and she loves it. I know she will like this card also! Again, the pictures are not great. It is dark, cold and gloomy in Idaho and I can't seem to get a decent picture! I am ready for a bit of sunshine to brighten the days.
I hope you will bring some sunshine to someone today with a card and one that will work in our challenge!
Our second sponsor is Marianne Design and I used one of their lovely dies to frame my image! Please check out these dies as they are lovely and you will enjoy how they cut so smooth and clean!
I had just enough of this SU ribbon to tie a small double bow on my card. Some 'horsey' embellishments added to my card. I will pick a sentiment at a later date.  I hope you enjoy this card and will join in the fun at ABC Challenge!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Don't Fence Me In (Andrews Sisters and Bing Crosby)
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don't fence me in
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise
I want to ride to the ridge where the West commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in
Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies
Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide country that I love
Don't fence me in
