A Heartfelt Class

The outside of my flip-n-fold card!

The side fold flaps open and the flip ups revealed.

I recently went to the Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup, Washington. This is one of the classes I took. Heartfelt offered five classes and I took them all. I also loved them all. The best part of this wonderful class is you can buy the kit and make "more" at home. I want to make some extras with different paper so I will have them on hand to give to those special friends. I am not entering this into any competition as it is a class project and not my own project. I do hope you will have the opportunity to take some classes from Heartfelt and I hope Heartfelt will be back in Puyallup next year.

Something Special

A closer look at the cute stamp!
The inside of my card!
I have had a pile of stamped images colored but never made into cards. Since I am having such a hard time since I broke my shoulder coloring for prolonged spaces of time (longer than 10 minutes) I decided to touch the coloring on this pile and make cards out of them.  This cute stamp is from The Paper Shelter.
She is called "I Won" and can be found here! She is an older stamp but like most of the Stamps found at The Paper Shelter she is timeless. I will send her to someone who has accomplished something special. I colored her with Copics  and then added some glitter to her gown. Three frilly pearls and a a sheer ribbon finished off this card....my version of  CAS!  I hope everyone is having a great day.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Something Special (Gaither Trio)
When Jesus sent you to us we loved you from the start,
You were just a bit of sunshine from heaven to our hearts;
Not just another baby 'cause since the world began.
There's been something very special for you in His plan.
That's why He made you special, you're the only one of your kind,
God gave you a body and a bright healthy mind;
He had a special purpose that He wanted you to find,
So He made you something special, You're the only one of your kind.
I have a little sister who's not at all like me,
She can write a lovely poem, but I can climb a tree,
My brother, too, is diff'rent with freckles on his nose,
When my questions needed answers He's the one who knows,
My daddy mows the back yard, my mommy makes the bed,
My brother cleans his playroom, I see the dog gets fed;
And each one needs the other to help him through the day,
And love must be the reason God planned it just that way.

Ride Em Cowboy!

I fell  in love with this fun stamp and knew I just had to use it for a card for a special friend. She recently came back into our lives after many years of being lost to us. She loves horses and for many years rode endurance races. When I saw this stamp I knew it would work perfect at a thank you card for our friend. I added the die cut "hay there" and the hay and pitchfork on the side.  Just a fun card for a friend.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Ride 'Em Cowboy (Paul Davis)
Traveling with the rodeo
It's the only life I'll ever know
I started in New Mexico
Must have been a thousand years ago
I used to be the best they say
At riding young wild horses for my pay
But now I'm much too old it seems
I only rides wild horses in his dreams
They use to tell me, ride 'em cowboy don't let 'em throw you down
You can't make no money if you hit the ground
They say, ride 'em cowboy don't let 'em throw you down
You're the toughest cowboy in town

Ribbons and Buttons

I am still working on my cards with a broken shoulder. The Dr. said it would be 8-12 months for complete healing. It is frustrating for me as I can only color for a short period of time 15-20 minutes and then it takes forever for me to assemble the card. Never break your shoulder not only is it painful it is so annoying. LOL! I do love this lovely stamp is called The Lady and you can click on the link to purchase her. It is time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter this time we are asking for ribbons and buttons on your card. I chose to glue my ribbon on in a diagonal pattern and added a rhinestone to the center of my pretty flower petal buttons. I thought they were the perfect touch to use with this stamp. I made this a thank you card as I have so many sweet people to thank for helping me out during this difficult time with my shoulder. This card is going to my special friend Nan. This card just makes me think of her. I hope you will grab your favorite Paper Shelter stamp and join in on our fun.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Humble And Kind (Tim McGraw)
You know there's a lot that goes by the front door
Don't forget the keys under the mat
Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church 'cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be a waste of time
Always stay humble and kind
Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got moutains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

The Sleepover

A closer look at the cute stamp!
 The inside of my card!
I recently attended the Scrapbook Convention in Puyallup, Washington.  I always stay with my BFF Wendy Little and we attend all three days and take classes from 8:30-5:30 and then do the crops which last until midnight. We meet with Kathy and Heidi two more friends that I have acquired through Wendy. This year I also brought an old friend from Idaho with me. Nan also stayed at Wendy's and we had so much fun. I came home exhausted but so happy that I had the opportunity to do this. It was a nice change from my husband being ill, my broken shoulder and physical therapy. Thanks Steve for making it possible for me to attend.
I chose  from "Cute as A Button".
I thought she would make the perfect thank you card for our week's stay with Wendy and her husband Mark.  I colored her with Copics and then fussy cut her so I could pop her with foam. I added a wooden love and cute little flowers from Queen & Co.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper)
I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they wanna have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one
But girls they wanna have fun
Oh girls just want to have
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Oh girls, they wanna have fun
Oh girls just wanna have fun (girls and boys wanna have fun, girls wanna have)

Charlie Chapliin!

 A closer look!
 The inside of my card!
Does anyone feel like May flew by? Here we are almost half way through June. This is a card I made for our Cute As A Button Challenge! I also gave this card to my BFF's husband. Mark Little opens his home to me every year for the Scrapbook Convention in Puyallup. He also picks me up and delivers me to the airport. This means he often has to go into work very early and sometimes is very late getting home depending on my flight. I wanted to let Mark know how much I appreciate his kindness. I thought this cute little Charlie Chaplin stamp from Cute As A Button was perfect for this card. I like how he looks as if he is flying right off the card. LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I'll Be Seeing You
'll be seeing you in all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through
In that small cafe, the park across the way
The children's carousel,
The chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way

So let me get right to the point

Happy Birthday Traci!

Today is my daughter Traci's birthday. She is a beautiful, talented, sweet person and I am so proud of her. I thought I would send her this card. It reminds me of her and her fashion flare. She always dresses in the latest fashions. Unlike me who finds jeans and old T-shirts my comfort zone. Yes, I am her despair. LOL!
Anyway, on to my card. It is time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter! This time our challenge is "Flower Power". That's right we want to see your flowers. I chose the darling Sunshine digi stamp for my card. She is a favorite of mine and I love creating cards with her. My pretty flowers were created with stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations. I added some pretty flower pearls to the center of the flowers, along with glitter to add some 'bling'. I will stamp a sentiment  on my die cut from Marianne Creations later. I hope you will join the fun with this challenge I can't wait to see your pretty flowers!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  The Rain, The Park, and Other Things (Cowsills)
I saw her sitting in the rain
Raindrops falling on her
She didn't seem to care
She sat there and smiled at me
Then I knew
She could make me happy
Flowers in her hair
Flowers everywhere
I love the flower girl
Oh, I don't know just why, she simply caught my eye
I love the flower girl
She seemed so sweet and kind, she crept into my mind
