A Veteran's Day Card!-God Bless each Vet!

We have a young man from our church (Dan) who is stationed in Afghanistan. One of the men in our church is a wood turner. (I hope that is the correct term!) He made this beautiful pen to send to Dan. The wood came from a tree that was cut down in the back of our church and the the wood bead in the center is from myrtle wood. One of our youths has chosen as her senior project to make these pens for all the veterans in our church. I made this card for Dan, it has a holder on the inside for the pen. I would like to say THANK YOU to all the men and women in our military and a big THANK YOU to all our Veterans! Also, kudos to Wayne and Lindsey...blessings to you for your hard work!
My Song: (Lee Greenwood)
If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

Patty that is one of the best ideas I have heard in a long time. What a nice remembrance he will have and I bet he will keep it for the rest of his life.
