Shopping Spree......it's done for Santa!

It is time for a fun challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE BLOG!!!  Our challenge is "Shopping Spree". Now, you may be wondering what this card has to do with a "Shopping Spree"? Well, Santa has all his shopping done for 2014! (Hey! It's my card and I can tell the story! LOL!  I am also going to let you in on a secret I have my Christmas shopping done for this year and I have most of it wrapped! Amanda and Elaine do you hear thunder? That is my feet doing the happy dance! I swore this year I was not going to be running around at the last minute like I was last year. This cute little Santa from THE PAPER SHELTER  reminds me that I might get some rest this Christmas. I used two Memory Box dies to cut the pine branches and pine cones. I added white fluff to the beard and puffy paint to the trim on Santa's suit. adds lots of layers. I hope you will grab a image from THE PAPER SHELTER  and join us this week. Then get out there and shop! (Psssst....be sure and check out the lovely team mates work it is fabulous. (And we have some fabulous new talent on our team!)

The Season Never Grows Old!

The Christmas season will soon be upon us. I am hoping we can all focus on the true meaning of "Christ"mas.
At the Chapman household we are looking forward to having all the family together this year. It has been several years since we were all able to gather together. We are also looking forward to the birth of a new grandchild. We are so blessed in many ways. This sweet image is from The Paper Shelter and she looks as though she has rescued a little lost kitty. I stamped some trees with a Magnolia stamp and fussy cut them and then added a bit of color and glitter to them. I love how the snow looks sparkly! My colors are a bit unusual, but I do like them! I hope each of you will have a blessed Christmas!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Ann Murray
Christmas is coming, I can tell by the smiles
I remember the snowflakes that fell from the sky
And covered the village that lay sleeping below
Thank goodness this season will never grow old

The Angels Cried

I instantly fell in love with this angel the first time I saw it and so I knew it would have to join my stash. I was thrilled to get to color her. I wanted the colors to be be very muted on this card. I am not sure I achieved that , but I had fun trying. I used a fun Cherry Lynn die to cut out all my fun snowflakes. I then added a gold pearl to the center of all (but one...just noticed that)! Oh, dear, I do hate when I see mistakes after I have posted  my cards.. tisk, tisk! I used a Spellbinders die to cut the image out  and let her feet hang outside the frame.  My Musical die is a new one from Memory Box and I love it. I tried to keep this card CAS. Not sure if I accomplished that but for me it as close as it is going to get.
My Song (Alan Jackson)
They came from near
They came from far
Following a distant star
To where he lay.
Not being sure of what it meant
But knowing it was Heaven sent
They made there way.
And the creatures gathered 'round
And didn't make a sound
And the Angels cried.

Isn't He Wonderful?

I think this little guy is so cute. Maybe it's because we will have a new little baby in our family in February or that fact I just like this image!
My Song:
Isn't He wonderful? Wonderful!
Isn't Jesus my Lord wonderful.
Eyes have seen, lips have heard,
It is written in His word
Isn't Jesus my Lord Wonderful?

Zebra Stripes!

I must admit that zebra stripes are a bit of a stretch for me. I really struggled with this card as I just couldn't  seem to figure out the right way to embellish it and felt it was a bit blah! But I made it for our ABC  Challenge. I must admit I am looking forward to seeing your creations and hoping to learn from you! So hop on over to our ABC Challenge Blog and be sure and check out my DT mates lovely work! Have a great day!

A Thank You to Our Pastor Lance

Last month was "Pastor Appreciation". I had made these cards for our pastor and had not taken time to post them yet. I wanted to share them with you. The images are 'free coloring pages'! I am still not sure if that is what they are or not, but I refuse to get into that debate so please don't leave me comments concerning this matter. I felt these images fit our pastor. The first card is one that I gave him from our family and the second I made for the church to give him. So, Pastor Lance, thank you...you bless our lives in so many ways.
My Song: Ray Boltz
I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
 Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angels singing
 Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came
And he said, FriendYou may not know me now
And then he said, But waitYou used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart

For Someone Special

I am not sure what happened to this post, for the first time my pictures posted and nothing else. So, I went back into my post and the wonderful post writting I had labored over was gone! I am sure it couldn't have been something I did wrong! LOL! Anyhow, it is time for another challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER this week  we want you to make a card "For Someone Special". I decided to make a card for each of the grandkids to give to their teachers. I hope they know what precious gifts they are being entrusted with. You can find this wonderful image here. While you are there be sure and check out the wonderful Christmas images, you will love them. I hope you will join us for the fun this week.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Chuck Barry
Up in the mornin' and out to school
The teacher is teachin' the Golden Rule
American history and practical math
You studyin' hard and hopin' to pass
Workin' your fingers right down to the bone
And the guy behind you won't leave you alone
Ring, ring goes the bell
The cook in the lunch room's ready to sell
You're lucky if you can find a seat
You're fortunate if you have time to eat
Back in the classroom, open your books
Gee but the teacher don't know how mean she looks

You have to love those snowmen!

I love this cute little guy. But, I love snowmen of all kinds. I have quiet a few that I put out at Christmas and they always make me smile. The cute guy from Sassy Cheryl's  looks as if he knows the true meaning of Christmas! I think I might have become the 'Glitter Queen" on this card. I added some pretty white glitter to the snow (although it looks like silver in my picture. I also used the same glitter on the star. I added Stickles to the pine cones, pine needles and the snowflakes. I actually have the pine cones raised with foam pop ups, the stars, the sentiment and the star. It was an old roll and very thin but I like the effect.   I hope your week is going well and that you took time yesterday to thank a VET. We are free today because they fought for our freedoms. God bless you each and everyone.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: The Christmas Star
On that magic night in Bethlehem, on the birthday of our Lord
The angels sang and the heavens rang with tidings of great joy
And on that night, an angels choir had journeyed from afar
The greatest gift that God could give became the Christmas Star

Tis The Season

I love Wee Stamps and was thrilled when I saw this cute Christmas image. I have started seeing those "" days until Christmas notifications. I am so looking forward to the holidays this year as for the first time in many years our family will all be together and that is what makes the holidays special for me. Anyway, back to my card. It is full of sparkle wherever you look. I really love the warm browns and reds together. I glued glitter on for the snow. It looks silver in the picture but really is white. My winter pictures always seem to be a bit off. I added some Stickles and Spica pen for the rest of my sparkle. Just a fun Christmas card to add to the stash. Have a wonderful day and focus on your blessings today.
My Song: Holly Jolly Christmas
Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow,
But have a cup of cheer.
Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
And when you walk down the street
Say Hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet.

Sweet Suzie

I
I have a sweet cousin we call Suzi. She is a cute little blond and a hair dresser. The minute I saw this cute image from THE PAPER SHELTER I knew I needed to make a card for her. She has had a rough go of it lately with life coming at her from all sides. I decided that pink would be my color of choice today. I used a Memory box die and cut my pretty tulips and the cute corner pieces.  I added some cute little pearl hearts and some pretty bows. (Not sure what I was thinking there!). Just a fun card to put a smile on my cousins face. I hope your week is going well and you can enjoy some time to craft!
I am entering this card at the following challenge:

My song: Cher
They say we're young and we don't know
We won't find out until we grow
Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby I got you
Babe, I got you babe
I got you babe
They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
I guess that's so, we don't have a pot
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got
Babe, I got you babe
I got you babe

"Yellow"

Best put your blinders on for this one! Our challenge this week at "ABC CHALLENGE" is using the letter "Y" for yellow! Yep! we want to see lots of yellow on your cards! Our lovely sponsor is Tilda's Town! Oh, they do have some lovely Magnolia images and lots of other fun stuff (you know the kind we really need or else!) This is an older Tilda image and a favorite of mine as I just love those cute braids. My DP is some really old and I do mean old paper that I bought in bulk years ago. I guess this proves that I am a paper hoarder. The paper lace was made with one die from Cherry Lynn. I used both the positive and negative cuts. I thought it looked great  and helped to bring down the brightness of the yellow! My flowers are from Lilly of the valley.  Please join us this week and remember you can win a fabulous prize from Tilda's Town!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Donvan
Mellow Yellow
I'm just mad about Saffron
Saffron's mad about me
I'm just mad about Saffron
She's just mad about me
They call me mellow yellow
They call me mellow yellow

Witchy Woman

I hope everyone is all stocked up for the little trick-or-treater's this year. My two grandson's are excited about it and I will get to go with them as they have fun. It is wonderful having them living near us again as we get to share in all sorts of fun times. I don't really do many Halloween cards as I don't have a need for them. But this cute little image from THE PAPER SHELTER is such a fun color that I had to use her for our challenge this week. I colored her with Copic markers. I used an old Creative Memories circle cutter to frame her and added an additional boarder of gold card stock. I added some liquid pearls to add the feeling of starts around her and then sponged some gold ink around her. The DP is is a mix and match out of my scrap box and the cute spiders are from Oriental Traders. Please join us in our fun challenge "Halloween" this week at THE PAPER SHELTER. You can win a chance to shop for some lovely images.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: The Eagles
Raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
she's a restless spirit on an endless flight
wooo hooo witchy woman, see how
high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got
the moon in her eye
She held me spellbound in the night
dancing shadows and firelight
crazy laughter in another
room and she drove herself to madness
with a silver spoon
woo hoo witchy woman see how high she flies

Fun at Christmas

Another Christmas card for the stash. I just had to color up this cute image from The Paper Shelter. What a cute little elf he is. I have tons of sparkle on this and my pictures just do not show it. the  white trim on the elf's outfit is glitter. there is Stickles on the marshmallow and Spica on the candle, ribbon, and the red trim on the ornament. I also added liquid glass to the ornament. I added some miniature jingle bells and pretty paper poinsettias! Just a fun little card for Christmas.

Best Witches!

I am going to have a plethora of Halloween cards. I just had to have a hand at coloring some cute images. This is a Mo Manning image and I thought a 'tattered witch' was just too cute! I also love the cute little kitten. I have had this DP for such a long time and the ribbon was a scrap that was in my mom's sewing box.The charm is new. The I love Halloween sentiment  and the sticker I have had for several years. So I guess this is a practical way to use up my stash! Whew! I am so happy to have a practical reason for making all these Halloween cards!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
I was working in the lab late one night
When myeyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash

Time for Christmas...?

I am loving the new Christmas images that are coming out. The cute new Sassy Cheryl images are no exception. I had to add a few to my stash and even though I am way behind on my housework and yard work, I just took time to color. I have been on a dead run lately with the restoration of our church, playing with the grand kids and various other obligations. I needed a day to kick back and relax. I made this Christmas card for a friend who always helps me decorate the church for Christmas. I know she will like this image as we lost all of our decorations in the arson fire at the church.. I hope your week is going well and you are taking time to enjoy the blessings in your life.
A picture of my sweet grandsons as we prepared to head into the corn maze! This grammy walked seven miles with these two leading the way. It was so funny to see them try and figure out the way through the maze. We spent had a fun day, but we were all tired when we got home. It is so fun for me to have them living by us again and to be able to spend time each week with them. (Cobwebs can wait!)
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Christmas Time Is Here
Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year
Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share
Sleigh bells in the air
Beauty everywhere
Yuletide by the fireside
And joyful memories there

A "Little" Birthday Card!

It seems as if I am always in need of birthday cards. I guess not everyone has given them up! I love this cute little image. She just looks like she is having a fun day! The cute little bear is a stamp set that came with a craft magazine years ago. I loved how the balloons came out. I think they add a special touch to the inside of the card. The DP is from a pad called Persnickety and I love it. I don't think there is a sheet in the pad I don't like. The colors are all rich pinks and browns. The sentiment is from MFT. I love the versatility of it. This card was made for a special friend of mine. (She is also my pusher who got me started on this journey of making cards!) She has been such a blessing in my life and I am so grateful for the friendship we have shared. I am posting this after her birthday, but I will say "Happy Birthday Wendy". Thank you for all you do and I hope your day was special!
My Song:
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

The Magic of Christmas

I think this might just be a CAS card for me. It looks so plain and I know I will have to add 'something' to dress it up a bit more. LOL! This is one of my new images from LOTV. I love her cute little glasses. I added liquid glass to them to make them a bit more 'glass like'! Some chunky glitter added some nice sparkle to the snow. It doesn't show up well in my picture. My paper lace is a new Cherry Lynn die. The sentiment is an 'old' one from LOTV. (Well, I did buy it last year...ha!) Just a fun little card for Christmas!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song:
So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

Only Two

Can you believe we will soon be into the holiday season? I am excited as our family will be together this year. It makes this mom and grammie very happy. It is also time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter. I am hoping that I qualify for this one as the challenge is Only two colors. I choose orange and blue. So, please don't look at the white background. I wanted to make a fun little notebook for our Praise Team Leader at church. She and her husband (as we are) are big Boise State Bronco Fans. Of course the colors are blue and orange. I just love this cute little cheerleader and you can find her here.
I am entering this project at the following challenges:
My Song:
Only you can make this world seem right
Only you can make the darkness bright
Only you and you alone
Can thrill me like you do
And fill my heart with love for only you
