Here Comes a Miracle

With all of this summer heat I am ready for fall!  I know that I have at least another month or more before I see the start of fall. But I am ready for it. Fall is my favorite time of year and I think it is because of the beautiful colors we associate with the season. I say this because I have used fall colors on this card and I love the colors. I am using an old Sarah Kay stamp. I decided to dig out some of the stamps that I have not used in a while. The paper came from my scrap box and I had just enough to make this card. The burlap came in a pad and was quiet thick. I love the texture it added. A pretty ribbon and bow and a WOC flower finish off this fun card.

My Song: Here Comes a Miracle
They followed Him on dusty roads
Wherever He would lead
Multitudes would gather
As He healed each disease
With eyes of wonder they would watch
As He would stop to pray
And when He spoke the word of faith
You could hear them say
Here comes a miracle
Here comes a miracle
Can't you feel it in the air?
That look is on His face
His glory is in this place

Love is a Rose!

A closer look at the image.
The die cut and the small rolled roses!
The left inside of the card.
The right inside of the card.
This is an image I have had colored for a long time but never made up. I look at the hair and I cringe as it was not my best job. It is amazing how a few months of flicking can improve one's coloring . Thanks, Alyce of Kit and Klowder for all the lessons. I did use a new die from Memory Box. I added the roses to give the die cut a look of a wild rose. It seemed fitting with this SC image. This was a simple card with little or no bling, but I think it works just as it is.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Rose (Conway Twitty)
Some say love, it is a river
And that it drowns the tender reed
And some say love, it's like a razor
And that it leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower
And you, it's only seed.

It's a heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's a dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.

A New Kid in Town-Card 2

A closer look at the image by Raul Guerra
 The inside of my card!
Good morning! I hope everyone is is enjoying these last days of July! I see that already people are posting "__ days until Christmas"! Yikes....where is time going we are already past the halfway point of 2015! I wanted to share another new image from Raul Guerra you can find his etsy shop here:
He has darling images with the big eyes and sad faces. Beautiful work. He is just starting with digi images for us card makers and I have already messaged him with my 'requests'! LOL! (Little Anne, African Art, Rose Faery, Maleficent, the Rose, Little Sista, Lailia Faery, and my favorite Coralia! If you google these you will see what I mean....they would be favorites of many of us!
I kept this card simple as I wanted the image to be the focal point. I colored her with Copics, added some Stickles for a bit of sparkle and some pretty rhinestones and a plastic butterfly to keep my blue/green theme going. A pretty sheer ribbon and bow finished off my card. I have not stamped a sentiment yet but I will when I choose who will receive this card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Sheb Wooley) One-eyed,  One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater!
Well I saw the thing coming out of the sky
It had one long horn and one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said oo-wee
It looks like a purple people eater to me
It was a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater
Sure looks good to me

She's Adorable

A closr look at the image!
 Another look!
 The left inside panel.
 The right inside panel.
I didn't realize until I looked at this picture that the colors on this card are rather bright and bold!  I thought they went with this charming new image from THE PAPER SHELTER called "She's Adorable". Just click on the link and you can make her yours also. I thought she made a great red head. I kept this card simple and since I printed the image in a larger size, I didn't feel like I needed many embellishments. I hope  you will check out the wonderful images at The Paper Shelter!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: I only have eyes for you! (The Flamingos)
My love must be a kind of blind love
I can't see anyone but you
Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
I only have eyes for you

The Paper Shelter Challenge---"Anything Goes"

I have been teaching the 'pre-teens' during Children's Church. Last week we talked about sharing with others.  I had them each talk about how they could share this week. My middle grand-son said he could pick some of my flowers and give them to his mom. I must admit I had to chuckle to myself as he was so sincere. I like to share the cards I make. I make sure everyone at church receives a birthday card. I have also donated cards to our nursing home. The nurses give them to patients who normally do not receive cards. It is a small way of bringing a small about of joy to others. How about you? What do you do to spread a little joy? In these troubled times a little joy is needed. Even if it is some flowers from your garden for a a little one to give to his mom. On to my card!

I wanted to give this image another color. She is just fun to color and a good practice for me with the highlights and shadows. This is one of the fun and lovely images you can find at THE PAPER SHELTER. You can snag her or one of the other lovely images for our challenge. "Anything Goes" and there is any style of image that you want or need. I kept this card very simple as I wanted the image to be the focal point. A  little ticket with a hear (it came from my stash, and yes I forgot I had them)  and a simple SU happy birthday sentiment, and our little rhinestones were the only embellishments to my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Kathy Mattea
Charlie's got a gold watch, don't seem like a whole lot
After thirty years of drivin' up and down the interstate
But Charlie's had a good life and Charlie's got a good wife
And after tonight she'll no longer be countin' the days
Eighteen wheels and a dozen roses
Ten more miles on his four day run
A few more songs from the all night radio
Then he'll spend the rest of his life with the one that he loves

"A New Kid In Town"

 A closer look
 pearls and swirls
 inside detail
I was excited to share this card with you. First, I want to say a bit about 'the new kid in town', I don't really know how 'new' he is but this artist has some fabulous work! Raul Guerra is the artist and you can find his etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/es/shop/digistampatelier?ref=hdr_shop_menu . If you take the time to check him out you will see some of the most fabulous images. This image is called "I love U". This image is so different from what I normally color but I had a wonderful time coloring it and can't wait to tackle it again with a different color pallet. I did add some clear glitter to the gold fish and IRL they pop off the card. I added Spica pen to various other areas to add touches of sparkle. I colored this image with Copic pens. Because I wanted the image to be the main focal point I used some pearls in swirl patterns to draw your eye to the image. I hope you will hop over to Raul's etsy shop and grab a few of his images and give them a try. Leave him some notes as he is new to the card/craft group. (I am afraid he thinks I might be a stalker!) LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Kathy Mattea) A New Kid in Town (couldn't help myself)
We're looking for The King
The new Messiah
We're following the star
Shining brighter
Old man won't you help us if you can
He shook his head
But he pointed his hand
There's a new kid in town
And he's lying in a manger down the road
There's a new kid in town
But he's just another baby I suppose
Heaven knows
There's a new kid in town
Here in Bethlehem

If You Could Read My Mind!

A closer look at the image!
The left inside of the card.
The right inside of the card!
Does the bright yellow in this card bother you? I am a yellow lover and I really like the bright yellows! The beautiful stamp is from Faery Ink. She is a wonderful stamp to color. I kept my card simple and just framed the image with a simple die cut and some rhinestones for sparkle. The little butterfly is made from gauze and in RIL is a pale yellow. A few liquid pearls and Stickles on the wings add a bit of interest. The sentiment on the left inside of the card is from Heartfelt and the right inside is a stamp I bought at a yard sale!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Gordon Lightfoot (If You Could Read My Mind)
If you could read my mind love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
About a ghost from a wishin' well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
You know that ghost is me
And I will never be set free
As long as I'm a ghost, you can see

Happy Birthday....or Do You Reemember When?

 Another look at my card!
A closer look at my image!
 A ribbon and bow accent!
 The inside of my card!
Today is my birthday and I am suddenly feeling very old. It seems like only yesterday that I was a teenager getting ready for a special dance or date. Now, suddenly, I realize how quickly the years have rolled by. My life has been full of blessings, with enough heartache along the way to realize that I need to appreciate each moment, each memory, each blessing. This card with the lovely image from THE PAPER SHELTER . She is called "She's Charming". I am not sending a birthday card to myself, but rather will have sent it on to someone else. I hope it will bring them joy! I hope your day is filled with blessings and  you enjoy what today brings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Alan Jackson
Remember when we vowed the vows and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
Was the music we danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are, where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
Remember when

"N" is for Number

Is everyone feeling the heat of summer? It is hot in Idaho and the time of year when a cool meal sounds good! It is also time for you to play at ABC Challenge. Our lovely sponsor is Miran and we are on the letter "N" for Number! I chose this lovely image as it reminds me of our local Sonic Drive-In. There you can be served your meal by a young person on roller skates. I would hate to think I had to do that as I am not a skater! LOL! I made a birthday card and the number on my card is the date of this persons birthday! I used a Spellbinder Edgeability die and chalked it with pink chalk and added some flat back pearls for accent. I also added some liquid glass to the lemonade and the skate boots. I hope you will hop over to ABC Challenge and play along...you could be our prize winner!
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

My Song: That's what I love About Sunday
Raymond's in his Sunday best
He's usually up to his chest in oil and grease
There's the Martin's walkin' in
With that mean little freckle-faced kid
Who broke a window last week
Sweet Miss Betty likes to sing off key
In the pew behind me
That's what I love about Sunday
Sing along as the choir sways
Every verse of Amazin' Grace
And then we shake the Preacher's hand

The First Dance!

A closer look at the stamp!
 A triple loop bow!

 Pretty gauze flowers!
The left inside panel of the card.
The right inside panel of the card!
Every time I look at this stamp I think of "deer in the headlights look". It reminds me of the look on little girl's faces at their first formal dance. If this girl was like me, underneath that beautiful dress is knees with band-aids on them and feet that wobbled in pumps, that pinched my toes. LOL! I used my  BV Copics in coloring this image. They tend to be a challenge for me as I can't find the 'perfect' blends. I spent a long time coloring the bow in the girl's hair and then used the wrong glue to add some glitter and the glitter completely covered the bow and my coloring. I did add some Spica pen to the earrings and the little jewel necklace. Some pretty shiny baubles are in all four corners. A Spellbinder lace edger added some pretty lace to the card. The Scripture is from Our Daily Bread.  I hope you enjoy this card.  I am entering it at the following challenges:

My Song: I Hope You Dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
                                                                  I hope you dance

Flying by With A Birthday Hi!

A closer look at my image!
Stitched clouds with a birthday sentiment!
The left insidde of my card!
The inside right panel of my card!
As my friend Elaine would say "I am quite chuffed with this card". If you follow my blog you will know I struggle with 'guy' cards. I just never seem to know what to do with them. I had this cute little PM image colored for sometime but had never made it into a card. Last week I received this wonderful Poppy die called stitched clouds. I instantly knew these dies would be perfect with this image. The card just fell together! Woot! Woot! I added liquid glass to the goggles, the blades on the airplane and the heart in the clouds. Red half pearls finished off my card.  I have never made a quicker, more fun guy card! I hope you enjoy this fun card. (I may make a dozen of these to have on hand!)
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  (The Royal Guardsman)
After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Germany
Came a roar and a thunder man has never heard
Like the screaming sound of a big war bird.
Up in the sky, a man in a plane
Baron Von Richthofen was his name
Eight-y men tried and eight-y men died
Now they're buried together on the country side.
Ten, Twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eight-y men died trying to end that spree
Of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany.
