It's Fall!

Isn't this just the cutest image? I am so embarrassed as I just bought this and do you think I can find the name of it or where I bought it. I will continue to look as there are some really cute digi's there. I dug through my scrap box and pulled out these scraps to use on my card. I needed my dear friend Amanda here to choose paper for me! The dress is really an orange color but looks like a washed out red in my picture. I used a SU oval punch to make my pumpkin. Just a fun card to kick off fall. Have a blessed day.

My Song: American Heart

She's up before the sun, on the run
Another dollar, another day, another cup of coffee
Thank you Lord for giving me one more
She still leans on her dreams but it seems
Sometimes she's the only one who still believes
That life is hard, so she takes it on
With an American Heart

A Day of Fishing

I have always been a fan of the Stamp Fairy stamps so I was thrilled when they were the sponsor for ABC's new challenge. Our letter this time is "Y" so we are asking you to make a card for a guy! I fell in love with this little cutie called "Barry Fishing" . I hope you will all join us for this fun challenge. It is a great time to stock up on those 'guy' cards that we always need. I colored my image with Copics, added some twine and a dragon fly charm and some antique brads to finish off my card. Hop on over to the ABC challenge blog to join in the fun and to see the fabulous creations by the other members of my DT!

My Song: I'm Gonna Miss Her

"Well, I love her, but I love to fish.

I spend all day out on this lake and hell is all I catch.

Today she met at the door, said I would have to choose.

If I hit that fishin' hole today,

she'd be packing all her things and she'd be gone by noon.

"Well, I'm gonna miss her, when I get home.”

Are Butterflies Office Supplies!

I wanted to play in the SC challenge and I really set out to do so. But....somewhere I got lost and forgot that I was supposed to be using office supplies on my card!  That is the challenge! So the 'paper clip' is my 'office supplies'. LOL! I think the cold medicine is fuzzing up thinking. Anyway it was fun to just color and create! I hope each of you are having a great Sunday and your day is filled with blessings!

My Song: Butterfly Kisses

There's two things I know for sure
She was sent here from heaven
And she's daddy's little girl
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes
And I thank God for all of the joy in my life
Oh but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair
Walk beside the pony daddy it's my first ride
I know the cake looks funny daddy but I sure tried

Darn that spot!

I have been sick all week with the nastiest cold, cough, headache, fever crud! So, even though my house looks like a bomb went off in it, I took today to play and ink up some new stamps. I don't know which I think is cuter, Tilda or the Kangaroo! I enjoyed the time to color and relax (in between coughs and sniffs). I was ready to glue all my pieces together when the most awful thing happened. My nose dripped right on the chin of poor Tilda....that is the spot you can see. The more I tried to hide it the more the Copics lifted off. Do I need to spray it with Lysol before I give it away? Grrrrrr...how rude? Anyway, I am entering this card at the Totally Tilda challenge. LOL!  I hope each of you are having a wonderful week-end. We are watching the Boise State Bronco's play New Mexico. Go Broncos! This is a day of play for me!

My Song: (Had to pick one from the Bee Gees because of the kangaroo!0

There's a light
A certain kind of light
That never shone on me
I want my life to be lived with you
Lived with you
There's a way everybody say
To do each and every little thing
But what does it bring
If I ain't got you, ain't got ?
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you

Happy Birthday Sweet 16

Can you believe it is almost October? September has just flown by and we still have not had fall weather yet. We have had fires around us all summer and the valley where I live has been filled with smoke. I am praying for a week of rain to clear the air! Now, on to my card! This card is for a special young lady from church who is turning sweet 16. I thought this sweet Image, called Acrobat Little Doll from The Paper Shelter would be perfect for her.  We have a fun challenge at The Paper Shelter this time.....it is "Anything Goes". Now

Happy Birthday Amy!

There is a young lady at my church who is celebrating her birthday on the 1st. She joined the Air Force and has been working hard learning all the skills she needs to succeed as a soldier. I wanted to make a card that would let her know I was thinking of her and that I was very proud of her. I thought this Kenny K image would be the perfect image for this. I love the long stem rose in her hand. I tried to make this card look feminine while also looking soldier like! I hope I have achieved that look.

So, Happy Birthday Amy! I hope your day is a special one, we at FBC are all proud of you!

I hope each of you have a wonderful week-end. Blessings!

My Song: Because He Lives

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus

He came to love, heal, and forgive.

He lived and died to buy my pardon,

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

Because He lives, All fear is gone.

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living just because He lives.

Another Criss Cross Card

I just had to give the Criss Cross card one more try. I used this cute little image from The Paper Shelter called "Franky Pastry". I had a fun time coloring her in the 'green'. My DP is from a pack from last year and I love it. I used paper punches to make my paper lace. A ribbon and a spider charm finished off this fun card.

My Song:

In the cool of the evening when ev'rything is gettin' kind of groovy,

I call you up and ask you if you want to go and meet and see a movie,
First you say no, you've got some plans for the night,
And then you stop, and say, "All right."
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.
You always keep me guessin', I never seem to know what you are thinkin'.
And if a fella looks at you, it's for sure your little eye will be a-winkin'.
I get confused, 'cause I don't know where I stand,
And then you smile, and hold my hand.
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you.
Spooky!

She's In Love With The Boy!

This is a new Sarah Kay Stamp I just bought. I thought it was so sweet and would make a great anniversary card. My dh and I just celeberated our 40th  wedding anniversary. But, I gave this card to another couple. LOL! It is time for another challenge at ABC's and this one was a new one for me. It is the letter "X" for criss cross card. I did discover that I need to get some sentiment stamps for anniversary cards. I am seriously lacking in that department. I can't wait for you to see the fabulous work by the other DT members, they are stunning!

My Song: (Trisha Yearwood)

Katie's sitting on the old front porch
Watching the chickens peck the ground
There ain't a whole lot going on tonight
In this one horse town.
Over yonder, coming up the road
In a beat-up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy, he's laying on the horn
Splashing through the mud and the muck
Her daddy says, "he ain't worth a lick
When it came to brains, he got the short end of the stick"
But Katie's young and man she just don't care
She'd follow Tommy anywhere
She's in love with the boy

Just Around the River Bend

Have you ever made a card where you had a different plan when you began and then you just went somewhere totally different with it? That is what happened to me with this card. I had such a good time coloring this sweet image from The Paper Shelter, that I lost myself and just enjoyed crafting. This card is for our next challenge at The Paper Shelter! I also have some exciting news for you! IF YOU USE A PAPER SHELTER IMAGE you are eligible to win a $30 gift certificate!

We have a fun challenge for you this time "Punch It"! Dig out those fun punches and grab a Paper Shelter Image and join in the fun.

I used the "Spring Princess" Image, but chose to do a Christmas card with her. As you can see she is such a versatile image that she would work with any season. I hope  each of you are having a wonderful week that is filled with blessings!

My Song: [Pocahontas]

What I love most about rivers is:
You can't step in the same river twice
The water's always changing, always flowing
But people, I guess, can't live like that
We all must pay a price
To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing
What's around the river bend
Waiting just around the river bend
I look once more
Just around the river bend
Beyond the shore
Where the gulls fly free
Don't know what for
What I dream the day might send
Jut around the river bend
For me
Coming for me

Buzzin by to say hi!

Happy September everyone! It is just beginning to feel like fall here in Idaho. I do hope we get lots of rain soon that will aid the firefighters in putting out the fires that are all around us. Our valley has had a thick blanket of smoke hanging in it for over a month.

It is time for a new challenge at ABC's Challenge Blog! Our challenge this time is "W" for wishes! We want to see some kind of wish on your card...like "Happy Birthday", Congratulations, any kind of wish will do! We have some fabulous prizes being offered by The Paper Shelter and LOTV! Plus!!!!....yes there is more....you may be chosen to be a 'guest designer' for ABC! Have fun and be sure and check out the rest of the DT's lovely work!

This image is called "Teddy Bear Picking Flowers!" It was my very first image from THE PAPER SHELTER and I have always loved it. I colored the image with Copics and added a bit of Spica pen to the bees! I also added a brad 'bee'. I used a sentiment from my very 1st card challenge win. (This was the prize!) My 'wish' is on the inside of my card!

Lot's of Layers! --Paper Shelter Challenge

I love layers on cards. As I have stated before CAS is what is hard for me! I think it may be because I love to play with dies and punches! This is a new image from THE PAPER SHELTER called 'She's A Maniac" and I knew the minute I saw it I had to color it! The Challenge this week, just in case you haven't guessed it, is layers! That's right we want to see lots of lovely layers on your card! I am not sure dry embossing is a layer, but that is the base for my card. (Cuttlebug Music Folder). I added my next layer (which you really only get peek of) and framed them with two die cute paper laces. I popped my image, which I cut with a Spellbinder 's die and framed the image in my blue base card stock. If you notice I had the boom box project outside of the die. Some tiny pearls add additional attention to draw your eye to the darling image.

I hope you will hop on over to THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE and join in this fun challenge! While you are there check out the rest of the DT's fabulous work....it is lovely!

REMEMBER YOU MUST USE A PAPER SHELTER IMAGE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN THEIR FABULOUS PRIZES!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Hall & Oates

Just a steel town girl on a Saturday night

Looking for the fight of her life

In the real time world no one sees her at all

They all say she's crazy

Locking rhythms to the beat of her heart

Changing moment into light

She has danced into the danger zone

When the dancer becomes the dance

It can cut you like a knifeIf the gift becomes the fire

All the while you're stuck between

What's will and what will be

She's a maniac, maniac on the floor

And she's dancing like she never danced before!

I'm Saying Good-bye to Summer!!

My goodness...we are getting towards the end of the alphabet in our ABC's challenge. This year has gone by so fast! Our fun challenge this time is the letter "V" for "Vanish"! This can be interpreted so many ways. I decided to vanish summer and do a Christmas card. Our numbers were down for our last challenge and I am assuming that everyone is busy with the last days of summer and getting ready for school to start. My lovely image was provided by "Tickled Pink Stamps" ! I hope you will play along with us this week and show us what you come up with! I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: All I Want For Christmas Is You!

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...
You

Time For Clean & Simple!

Clean and Simple....that is an oxymoron with me! I love the look of CAS and think it really showcases the image, but it is so hard for me not to add just a little bit more! LOL! It is time for a fun and CAS  challenge at The Paper Shelter! This cute little guy named "Snowman" looks as if he can't believe it is snowing. As for me....I am looking forward to cooler weather! I colored "Snowman" with Copics and then because I had  wanted to add a little bling, I sprinkled the snow and the snow flakes with a little white glitter. I had and 'old' cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder that I used for my background. A sheer ribbon and bow and a plastic snowflake finish off my CAS card. I hope you will join us this week for this fun challenge at The Paper Shelter also, you will want to check out the other DT members fabulous work, it is so inspiring. Blessings!

My Song: George Straight

Our love is unconditional

We knew it from the start

I can see it in your eyes

You can feel it from my heart

From here on after

Lets stay the way we are right now

And share all the love and laughter

That a lifetime will allow

I cross my heart

And promise to

Give all Ive got to give

To make all your dreams come true

In all the world

You'll never find

A love as true as mine

Fair Time

Since the State Fair will soon be here, I thought this Saturated Canary image was perfect for the challenge this week. I colored the image with Copics and added a bit of Spica pen for sparkle. The paper is from an old pad but it fit perfect for the 'fair' theme....or the great outdoors!

My Song: County Fair (Brian Wilson @ Beach Boys

This time each year in our hometown
The county fair comes our way
Where the folks gather round to be happy and spend their day
A-here's what happened now,
I soon decide that I'd take with me
The most specialest girl I knew
I had her pack us a lunch and on down the dirt road we flew

"Girl On A Swing"

First I have to tell you I had a terrible time trying to photograph this card...it is so much prettier IRL! LOL! Aren't they always? My paper has foil flowers and foil leaves, they are so pretty but they just do not show up in the photo! This is my first card for "The Paper Shelter" DT "A". Our challenge this week is " Glitz and Glimmer".  I knew when I saw this lovely image that I would have to use it for my first card. She is called "Spring Thing II". I love her cute little leaf swing. My DP I have had for a long time. I have been waiting for just the right card to use it on. I colored the image with Copics and added a Spica pen to the center of the flowers for a bit more sparkle. I used an olive leaf die for my branches, a MS punch for the lace on the image and a Dienamics die for the scallop edge. A few pearls and a rhinestone heart finish off my card. I hope you will hop over to http://thepapershelter.blogspot.com/ and join the fun this week!

"Under The Weather"

Can you believe it? Here we are starting another month...and school starts this month! I must admit I love fall days and after this month of 100+ temps I am ready for milder days. It also signals another challenge at ABC's Challenge Blog! Our letter this time is "U" and the challenge is "Under the Weather"!  I chose this darling image from Mo Manning. She is just the cutest nurse and the little teddy looks a bit apprehensive about the 'shot' that is to come! I used my new Magnolia die for the lace and my C.C. Designs Olive branch die for the leaves.  I hope you will join us this week our fabulous sponsors are:
