Boo!

Are you all set for the little ghosts and goblins to come? My grandsons are excited and even our little guy is getting in on the action this year. Well, he will at least be trick-or-treating Papa and Grammy! Since it is Halloween I wanted to share this fun card I made with one of the newer Paper Shelter Images. You can find  "A Beauty to Die For"  here! I used some old DT paper and I honestly think I have had this for at least five years is not more!  It was busy enough that I didn't feel I needed to add much! A simple "Boo" ticket sentiment was all it took. I did add a touch of liquid glass to the tombstones and the brooch.  Please everyone stay safe tonight. Make sure your child has lights, glow sticks or a flashing pin so they can be seen also!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Spooky (Dusty Springfield)
In the cool of the evening
When everything is gettin' kinda groovy
You call me up and ask me
Would I like to go with you and see a movie?
At first I say: "No, I've got some plans for tonight"
But then I stop
And say: "Alright"
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little girl like you!

Save The Last Dance For Me!

I struggled with this card! I challenged myself to use some of the paper I have left over from paper pads. You know that paper that is just not your cup of tea, weird patterns, ugly colors, or hard to match with anything. This DP is one of those for me. I don't know why it just doesn't seem as pretty as it should be.  But, I gave it my best shot and used this cute SC image. She is colored with Copics. I added some swirled pearls and some beautiful paper flowers. So what do you think? Would you like to receive a card like this?
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Save the Last Dance For Me!
You can dance, every dance with the guy
Who gives you the eye, let him hold you tight
You can smile, every smile for the man
Who held your hand beneath pale moon light
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin' save the last dance for me

Halloween--get your spooky on!

A closer look at the image.
 The inside of my card.

Here we are at the end of October already and Turkey day is just around the corner. So, to bring our month to an end it is time for a challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER! Of course, the challenge is Halloween! It is time to get your spooky on and show us what you've got.
Now, if you know me very well, you know that Halloween cards are not something I ordinarily make. But this image called "Witching Hour" was a fun color and made me 'broaden my horizons'! I have always wanted to say that. LOL! I colored her with Copics, added liquid glass to the glass bottle and the pin at her neck. (Ok, the snake creeped me out as I am terrified of snakes!). I added a pretty purple ribbon and bow and some silver pearls to finish off my card. I am not sure what I will do with this card so I left the sentiment blank!
Now it's your turn to show us your spooky, kooky, Halloween cards!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Florida George Lines)
"Dirt"
You get your hands in it
Plant your roots in it
Dusty head lights dance with your boots in it (dirt)
You write her name on it
Spin your tires on it
Build your corn field, whiskey
Bonfires on it (dirt)
You bet your life on it

Little White Dove

I  love the sweet faces on the Wee images. They are so appropriate to use with any age group. This card will go to a special friend for her birthday. I love the aqua and brown colors and just a bit of pops of red.  I am sorry but I can not remember who made the flower die cut.  The leaves are a die cut from CC Designs. The pretty little centers of the flowers are from Stampin Up. I added a polk a dot ribbon and  a double bow made on my bow maker that my sweet husband made for me. The inside flowers have glitter in the center of them.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:  (Johnny Preston_
On the bank of the river
Stood Running Bear
Young Indian brave
On the other side of the river
Stood his lovely Indian maid
Little White Dove was her name
Such a lovely sight to see
But their tribes fought with each other
So their love could never be
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love big as the sky
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die
He couldn't swim the raging river
'Cause the river was too wide
He couldn't reach the Little White Dove
Waiting on the other side
In the moonlight he could see her
Throwing kisses 'cross the waves
Her little heart was beating faster
Waiting for her Indian brave

In God We Still Trust

A closeer look at the image.

 My die cut roses.
 The inside of my card.

Every time I look at this image I am reminded of swimming at our local pool as a child. I had long, long hair and was required to wear a bathing hat. Those days they were a tight rubber thing with a strap that went under your chin. Because I had such long hair it did not lay nice and flat but rather had lots of wrinkles. I was so happy when my mom bought me one that had a big 'rubber' flower on the side. I thought it was quite fetching. LOL! Does anyone else remember wearing those silly things?
On to my card! I colored the image with Copics. I used a C.C. Design die for the lace. (I think this is one of my favorites.) The rose die cut is from Frantic Stamper. I used the positive and negative on each side of the card. I popped the rose with foam squares. The pretty accents by the sentiments were recycled from a store bought birthday card. (Love to recycle!) I also added a satin ribbon for a pretty pop of color.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Diamond Rio)

You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the Truth
His name is on our greatest Monuments, and all our money too,
And when we Pledge allegiance, there's no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we're one Nation under Him.
In God We Still Trust
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust
Now there are those among us, who want to push Him out,
And erase His name from everything, this country's all about,
From the Schoolhouse to the Courthouse, they're Silencing His Word,
Now it's time for all Believers, to make our Voices heard.
In God We Still Trust,
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

A Hard Day's Night!

 My card!
 The inside of my card!
Doesn't this funny little troll make you laugh? My mom would have called this "Howling at The Moon!" He is from The Paper Shelter and is called "Nap In A Cup". I suppose he has had a hard night and an needs a bit off sleep before he goes home. I tried to make the cup look as if it has a dent in it. (After all he doesn't hang out at the finest of establishments!) LOL! I colored him with Copics and then fussy cut him out and used foam squares to pop him up off the page. the brown behind the circles is burlap and it adds the perfect depth to this card. An acorn die adds a bit of whimsy to the corners. I thought this would be a hard card to make and it actually was a great deal of fun. I hope your week has been filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (The Beatles)
It's been a hard day's night, and I been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright

Feeling the Pink

Today I am going pink! I am choosing pink to honor both those living who are battling cancer and those who lost the fight. It seems as if we have been inundated lately with so many of our friends and family  fighting this awful, horrid disease. This card is going to a special lady at church who just discovered she has breast cancer. I hope it will make her smile! The image is a newer SC image and other than color the image and adding Stickles around her for a bit of sparkle, flowers and a sheer ribbon and bow, I did little else to this card. The flowers are my "clear it out" I have had them for over 3 years. I never could find just the 'right' card for them. I thought they looked beautiful on this card!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (The Four Seasons)
Big girls don't cry
(They don't cry)
Big girls don't cry
(Who said they don't cry?)
My girl said goodbye
(My oh my)
My girl didn't cry
(I wonder why?)
Told my girl we had to break up
(Silly boy) Hoped that she would call my bluff
(Silly boy) When she said to my surprise
"Big girls don't cry"
Big girls don't cry
(They don't cry)
Big girls don't cry
(Who said they don't cry?)

We'll Go Through It Together!

A Closer look at the image.
 Another look at the card!
 The inside of my card!
Before I tell you about this image I wanted to say that I am pleased and doing a happy dance over the hair. If you have followed my blog you know that hair is something I have struggled with coloring for years. I am taking the classes from Kit and Clowder and I feel like it has helped me so much. So thank you Alyce for all your help. I hope to continue to grow. This cute image is from Raul Guerra she is called "Little Girl with a Plushie". If you look close you will see she has a tear in her eye. I can only imagine that she might be in time out and is holding a favorite toy that brings her comfort. I colored this image with Copics and added liquid glass for the tears an her cats eyes! A bit of Spica pen added
some sparkle to my card. Some pretty die cut lace, pearls and brown satin ribbon finished off this card. I chose pinks because I love any shade of pink. I love to find pink pads and it seems to be my favorite Copic color to grab. I am not a girly girl but I must admit I like pink. It always looks cheery to me and I hope it brightens someone's day!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: (Bette Midler)
Wherever we go, whatever we do
We're gonna go through it together
We may not go far, but sure as a star
Wherever we are, it's together
Through thick and through thin, all out or all in
And whether it's win, place or show
With you for me and me for you
We'll muddle through whatever we do
Together, wherever we go

Leaving On A Jet Plane

Many of you will recall that I just made a trip to Missouri to attend my Aunt's funeral. My uncle and my cousins made fun of my luggage as it was stuffed! When I returned home it was overflowing. This image was perfect to send to my cousin not only to wish her happy birthday but to remind her of my suitcases. Not only has she just lost her mom she just discovered that her oldest son has been diagnosed with stomach and liver cancer, stage four. I hope this card will brighten her day.
I colored my stamp with Copics. I chose paper from my scrap basket. I love the green striped paper as it reminds me of pillow ticking.  A couple of acrylic flowers and some hearts completed this fun card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: (Peter, Paul and Mary)
All my bags are packed
I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin'
It's early morn
The taxi's waitin'
He's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome
I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

It Was Fascination!

A closer look at the embellishments !

A closer look at the image!
 The inside of my card!
I have had this image colored for several months but had never taken the time to make a card. I must admit that I struggled with this card. I had such a time with my paper combination an I am still not sure I got it right! I tried to draw it all together with the embellishments. The lace is a C.C. design die.
The inside die is from Cherry Lynn with a stitched circle. The dragon flies really are a deep rose color but photographed looking purple?! The diamond trails came off a store bought birthday card that I received in July for my birthday. I just recycled them. The little hearts are from our local dollar store. I finished off this card with a pretty sheer ribbon and bow.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It Was Fascination (Nat King Cole)
It was fascination
I know
And it might have ended
Right then, at the start
Just a passing glance
Just a brief romance
And I might have gone
On my way
Empty hearted

"A Fall Ride"

Since we are still having extremely warm temperatures, I am trying to bring fall on with this card! I think we are going to have summer forever this year. LOL! For those who don't like the cooler temps and the rain and snow I am sorry for wishing the warm temps away.  This stamp is from The Paper Shelter.  She is perfect for a fall card and I loved coloring her. I added some punched leaves and added some Stickles to make them sparkle. I used a Spica pen on the spokes and the handle bars of the bike. Some swirly pearls and a paper lace die from Whimsy finished off my card
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Autumn Leaves (Nat King Cole)
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

A Fall Fairy

I love fall colors. Needless to say I love the DP on this card. The image is from Faery Ink and I loved coloring her using the warm golden tones. I used a new die cut from Joanna Sheen (I think). I added some glass glitter to the wings. It is a simple card but I love that it doesn't need a lot of froo-froo.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:  Mama's and the Poppas
All the leaves are brown and the skies are grey
I've been for a walk on a winters day
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.
California dreaming on such a winters day
Stepped into a church I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray
You know the preacher, like the cold, he knows I'm gonna stay
California dreaming on such a winters day

"T" is for Two

A closer look at the image!
Even closer!
The inside of my card!
I was taken by surprise when I saw this lovely image at Aurora Wings. It was so different from the other images. Then I thought of this funny sentiment and thought it would be a fun card to make. Our challenge at ABC Challenge is "T" for Two. We want to see two of something on your card. I have two DP, two half pearls, two tags, and two of each flower on this card. Aurora Wings is our lovely sponsor for this challenge and you will want to check out the lovely creations by my teammates. I am in awe of the lovely work. I hope you will play along it is a great chance to win a lovely image from Aurora Wings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Creedence Clearwater Revival
I see a bad moon rising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
I see bad times today.
Don't go around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes a blowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Well don't go around tonight,
Well it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.
