Just The Way You Are!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz is having a Design Team call. If you love coloring his fun images go check it out and enter your card! This is another Glam Girl image and it is called "Freshman". I NEVER looked like this when I was a freshman! LOL! I really want to practice my hair coloring. I am slowly improving on it, but I have a long way to go. I used Colorbox DP and a MS butterfly punch. I used my copics to color my pearls and my metal corner. This is my last card for today...I told you it was a Kenny K day at our house! LOL!
My Song: Just The Way You Are
Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

"Young Girl"

This is another new Kenny K Glam Girl image (I personally think the Glam Girls are his best!) This image is called Jasmine. I made this card for a teenage girl and I know she will love it. I am entering this card in the challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz. The challenge this week is Glam Girls and ribbon. Since I have two ribbons and a Glam Girl image I fit the challenge!
My Song: Young Girl
Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl
With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe
You're old enough
To give me Love
And now it hurts to know the truth

"The Farmer's Daughter"

I spent my holiday coloring and playing in the craft room. Kenny K has some new Glam Girl images and they are so much fun to color! I thought this image called the "Farmer's Daughter" was so cute. I colored her with my Copics. I had the cute Magnolia Hay Bale stamp and thought it worked perfectly with this image. Of course I had to do some fancy cutting on the wheat! I used a wood grain embossing embossing folder on the dark brown paper and a Magnolia die for the lace. A bit of ribbon and some twine finish off this card.
I will look for challenges that might fit this card.
My Song: Rodney Atkins
Well I heard he needed some help on the farm
Somebody with a truck and two strong arms
Not scared of dirt and willin' to work
till the sun goes down
So I pulled up and said I'm your man
I could start right now and we shook hands
He said the fence needs fixin',
the peaches need pickin'
And the cows need bringin round
I was haulin hay, I was feedin the hogs
and that summer sun had me sweatin like a dog
So I cooled off in the creek
then it was back to work in the daggum heat
I was cussin' out loud, thinkin bout quitin'
Lookin' back now I'm sure glad I didn't
Cuz just when i thought it couldn't get no hotter
I caught glimpse of the farmer's daughter

Take Me To The Cross

I just had to have another play with this darling stamp from Krista Smith! I was playing around with my merge feature, I am still not proficient with it yet, but each time a learn a little more. I saw a darling card that my sweet friend Amanda made and so I had to give it a go creating a scene. I loved the colors in this DP which I don't have the cover to any longer, so I can't tell you from whince it came! I also used a faux stitching tape. It was a bit hard to line up, but I covered my 'jigs and jags' with a little cut out heart from the DP. I used a Magnolia Do-Hickey Die for the lace and added a lovely pink polk-a-dot ribbon to finish off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song : By Al Denson's "Take Me To The Cross"
She's daddy's little girl
Only three years old
All dressed up in her Sunday clothes
He holds her hand on bended knee
He says "I need to show you how
To find your way home."
As they walk along, how sweet the sound
Church bells ringing, people gathered 'round
"Remember this church, and the cross 'way up there
Sweetheart, if you ever get lost, say...."
Take me to the cross
High upon the steeple
The one where Jesus died
For all the lost people
If you can't find home
Know you're not alone
Take me to the cross

All Day, All Night

I was so bummed with myself last week when I missed the deadline for the Tilda's Town 1st challenge. So, I got busy today and did this card for the 2nd challenge! I do love my Magnolia stamps and so love to play in challenges with them. The challenge is "Water" and I found I had several Tilda's and even a few Edwin's that would work for this challenge. Of course, I had to use a newer stamp for this card. I had so much fun putting this card together. I had some small shells from a visit to the beach last summer and some bits from my stash that made this card a fun challenge for me. I hope your Sunday is filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: (It's an oldie!)
All day all night is Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Even little children love Mary Ann,
Down by the seaside, sifting sand.
Oh, when she walks long the shore people all she greets,
Wild birds fly her over and fish come to her feet.
In her heart there's love but I'm the only man,
Who's allowed to kiss my, oh Mary Ann.

Corner Bookmark

I wanted to play in the Saturated Canary Challenge and needed to make a bookmark. I had yet to make one of the corner book marks and gave it a try. I love it. Then I had a friend who had a birthday that I was going to see today, so I promptly put it in a card....without taking a picture. S.....I had to make another...but then it didn't turn out nearly as nice as the first one....GRRRR! Oh, well...it is too late to make another, so I will enter this one and try to make another later on this week. LOL....I am glad my head is attached! This is the "boobies" image and I just took the pink ribbon off her T-shirt. I thought she made a cute book mark! I hope your are having a wonderful day and enjoying the Memorial week-end.
My Song: (By Kevin Costner) Who knew he could sing?
The Angels Came Down
Walking all alone in the Southern rain
By graveyards and battlefields that blood still stains
Back to a time when the angels came
Walking all alone in the Southern rain
In the forests and the fields so many men were killed
I can hear their cries still echo through these hills
That was a time when the angels came
Walking all alone in the Southern rain
And the angels came down to the fallen men
And they held their hands as they prayed for them
They carried their souls beyond the moon and the sun
All the way to heaven one by one
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

Thank You Mrs. Needles

I wanted to make a special thank you for my grandson's kindergarten teacher. She has made his first year of school so special. She is a fantastic teacher...so a big shout out to Mrs. Needles at Sagebrush Elementary School in Wyoming! You are the best.
As soon as I spied the Darby Sprite images at All That Scraps, I knew it would make a fun thank you card.
Darby comes in rubber or digi form so you can satisfy your particular preference. I used my Copic pens to color Darby.
If you have not used the C.C. Designs Flower Boarder Die or the C.C. Designs Grass Boarder Die you have missed a treat. They are fantastic and work well with any image. Plus, they cut heavy card stock with no problem. I love them!
I added some Kaisercraft self adhesive pearls to the center of some of my flowers. Two tiny tag sentiments and Kaisercraft self adhesive rhinestones finish off my fun thank you card.
I hope each of you are enjoying a wonderful week-end!
Be sure and check out the new items at All That Scraps there is something for everyone!
My Song: When You Say Nothing At All
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
A touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall
Ya you say it best when you say nothing at all

"Rag Doll"

I printed two copies of this image and I used the balloon on this one to pop the balloon on the prior posting. I didn't want to waste the image so I made a card without the balloon. What do you think? I love this image as she has such a sweet look about her. I played with some scrap bits of paper to make this card. I do love to use those scraps. So why do I have gobs of them? I added liquid pearls to the butterflies and some cute heart rhinestones. Just a fun card to give me some practice playing with the bits and pieces. Have a great week-end and be safe!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Rag Doll
(Rag doll, ooh)
(Hand me down)
When she was just a kid, her clothes were hand-me-downs
(Hand-me-down)
They always laughed at her when she came into town
Called her rag doll
Little rag doll, such a pretty face should be dressed in lace
(Sad rag doll)
I'd change her sad rags into glad rags if I could
My folks won't let me cause they say that she's no good
She's a rag doll, such a rag doll, though I love her so, I can't let her know
I love you just they way you are

Love This Image!

Like many of you I love Krista Smith's images. They are all so much fun to color. This was a freebie that Krista gave us and if you haven't visited her shop you can link to it here: http://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/ My DP is from K & Company. I thought the morning glories were beautiful. I was going to enter this at Saturated Canary's challenge, but I see the challenge has changed. Congratulations to Donalda for winning last week...your work is beautiful as always.
My Song: "I Knew You When"
I knew you when you were lonely
I knew you when you were only
A boy all alone without love
I knew you when...

"I Believe"

Is everyone ready for a long week-end? We are having such yucky weather here that I will just be happy to see some sunshine. I am sure the plants in my garden are wondering where they have landed. LOL! I decided to have a bit of a play this afternoon and after cleaning my craft room I sat down and did some coloring! This is an older Tilda, but I love her. I thought she fit my new tire swing stamp from La La Crafts perfectly. This is such a fun stamp and fits the sitting Magnolia stamps perfectly! I added some liquid glass to the patches. I haven't even looked for challenges yet. I just wanted to 'craft'!
My Song: I Believe
I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night, a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come to show the way.
I believe, I believe.
I believe above the storm the smallest pray'r will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, or touch a leaf or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe!

More!

To make scheduling similier for everyone, we celebrated mother's day today. My DH and DD took me to lunch at one of my favorite resarauts "Kneaders". We had the best artichoke/mushroom soup and then a delicious raspberry walnut salad. It was so yummy! Then we were off to the movies to see "Dark Shadows". I loved Johnny Depp in this movie. He has such an odd humor and it brought back memories of rushing home in jr. high to watch "Dark Shadows". All of which has nothing to do with my card! LOL! This is a new LOTV image and I think it is adorable. I added to ladybugs and a Whimsy tag sentiment. I am planning on giving this card to my DH for father's day....shhhhh...don't tell him. I hope each of you have a wonderful mother's day and that you each are surrounded by those you love. Blessings!
My Song: "More" (It was sung at our wedding)
More than the greatest love the world has known
This is the love that I give to you alone
More than the simple words I try to say
I only live to love you more each day.
More than you'll ever know
My arms long to hold you so
My life will be in your keeping
Waking, sleeping, laughing, weeping.
Longer than always is a long, long time
But far beyond forever, you'll be mine
I know I never lived before
And my heart is very sure
No one else could love you more.

What was I thinking?

I think this card reflects the day I was having. I had spent most of the day cleaning carpets and it looks as if I grabbed a hodge podge of paper and Copics to make this card. "What was I thinking?" Oh, well...tomorrow will be a better day! LOL! This is an older image from LOTV, but has always been one of my favorite. I used an older embossing folder and my butterflies are from Cherry Lynn dies. I have a brand new Die-namics die that I used for my lace. It is so pretty, I know it will be a favorite. I added Glamour Dust to the butterflies and faux stitching around the edges. I hope your day is going great and filled with blessings!
My Song: What Was I Thinking!
Becky was a beauty from South Alabama
Her Daddy had a hard lock and nine pound hammer
Think He even did a little time in the slammer
What was I thinking?

"All My Love"

I know this little Tilda is intended for Valentine's Day, but she is so cute I just had to use her. LOL! I love her wild, curly hair. I also wanted to use these cute ladybug brads and thought this color scheme worked for them. All my paper is from my scrap basket so I was pleased to use some of it up. This card should post as we are winging our way home. I am already missing my grand kids and kids.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: All My Loving
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you

"Orange Dragons"

OK...I can't help myself....Orange you glad it is time for another challenge at ABC? Sorry, but I just had to say that! As you might have guessed the challenge this time is "Orange"! Now, I will be the first to tell you orange is not one of my favorite colors to work with. I have a hard time finding colors that work with it and always choose browns and blacks. So, I had to work hard to make a card that didn't look like 'Halloween'. But, that is what challenges are all about, making  us think outside of our comfort zone! Right? My dh said he had never seen an orange dragon, but he hasn't really seen a green one either! HA! So here is my little Magnolia dragon! I added some fine white glitter to his wings and liquid glass to his tail. The sentiment is a clear, stick on, that has been in my stash for several years. Some hand stitching, liquid pearls, and orange brads, finish off this fun card. So grab those orange colors and enter the challenge!
Today is our little Logan's 5th Birthday! Happy Birthday sweet boy!
My Song: Puff The Magic Dragon
Puff the magic dragon
lived by the sea
and frolicked in the autum mist
in the land of Honah Lee!
