The Huntress

I love this new image from The Paper Shelter. I decided to use pink for this card and I like the look. I kept the  card simple as I wanted the image to be the focus. The paper is from the scrap bin and the ribbon was from the Dollar Store. The butterflies are little foam ones but worked for this card.

My Song: She's A Wild One (Faith Hill)
They said, "Change your clothes"
She said, "No, I won't"
They said, "Comb your hair"
She said, "Some kids don't"
And her parent's dreams went up in smoke
They said, "You can't leave"
She said, "Yes, I will"
They said, "Don't see him"
She said, "His name is Bill"
She's on a roll and it's all uphill
She's a wild one with an angel's face
She's a woman-child in a state of grace
When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee
He said you can be anything you want to be
She's a wild one, runnin' free

While visions of sugar plums...

A closer look at the new Sherri Baldy stamp.
A closer peek at the details.
 Another look!
The inside of my card
I was recently asked to be on the "new release" design team for Sherri Baldy. So this is my first card of one of her new images. This little cutie is all snuggled up for sweet dreams of Santa's visit. I colored her with Copics and added Stickles to the white fur on her Santa hat. The glass of milk is topped with Crystal Effects as is the tiny heart on Santa's letter and her pretty painted toe nail. I added pretty die cut snowflakes and topped them with Stickles and a half pearl in the center of each. The pretty string of lights was die cut from white card stock, colored and then Crystal Effects were added. You can find this fun digi stamp at https://www.etsy.com/shop/SherriBaldy

My Song: All I Want For Christmas
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true oh
All I want for Christmas is you

"Little Chicks"

I think some of the older Sara Kay stamps are so sweet. I love this one and decided to pull the cobwebs away and use it for a birthday card. I have had this one piece of pretty paper that I had been saving for the perfect card! LOL. Ok, I found it in my stash. I added a handmade tab and a stitched heart for accent. A pretty sheer ribbon and bow finished off my card.  I hope you are having a great week filled with blessings.

My Song: Does The Light Still Shine
He used to run the mission
This old friend of mine
And it stood down on the corner
Underneath a neon sign
Had a cross that lit up heaven
And the message "Jesus Saves"
And each week at the old folks' home
His question was the same
Does the light still shine?
Does the light still shine?
Is it bright enough
For the lost to find?
Does the light still shine?

A Double Gate Fold Card Or "A Card of Many folds!

The band holding my card in a fold.
The outside panels!
The left inside panel.
The right inside panel.
The marshmallow has Stickles on the edge to make it sparkle!
Lots of fussy cutting and some puffy paint.

All panels work together to create a scene.

I must say that I had a good time making this card but my goodness I need a refresher class in geometry! I don't know how many times I cut my paper with the wrong angle. I fussy cut all of the cute Christmas stamps from THE PAPER SHELTER  and placed them carefully on each panel. I do wish I had used a less busy print, but at this point I was happy to just have it facing the correct direction! I am the first to admit I am not adept at making shaped and gimmick cards. This was good practice for me. I created a belly band to hold my folds in place.
Our challenge this time at THE PAPER SHELTER IS   "A Card of Many Folds". I would love to see your cards and if any of you have any tips for me that would help in designing this type of card. I am glad you can't see the back as one of my panels the paper is upside down!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Ho, Ho, Dear old Santa Clause
I hear your bells And I hear your deer
I can hear you saying your ho ho ho
So I know what's coming
Right now
Cause I can hear
Dear Santa Claus
With you big sack of toys
And the teddy bears for the little ones
And the rollerskates for the older ones
Yes I can hear you
Dear old Santa Claus

"R" Is for Recipe with Tic Tac Toe

I am afraid that I was in a hurry when I made this card. I was hurrying to pack for a quick trip to Missouri to attend my sweet aunt's funeral. I wanted to have this ready for a scheduled post in case I didn't make it back home on time. I had already given this card away and after I returned home I noticed that the bow had slid off the ribbon! With no way to fix it I am afraid I had to leave the post as is. I never function well when I have to have a hurry up post. I don't know what the recipient though when they received this card. LOL! It is the thought that counts right?
Anyway, I hope you will join us at ABC CHALLENGE for our fun challenge. Below is our Tic Tac Toe Board. Our lovely sponsor is "All Dressed Up". They have such fun images that you can used for any occasion. So grab your favorite items on our Tic Tac Toe Board and join in the fun!

Laugh at me where you stand
Go ahead, and say it isn't Me
The day will come when you will see
'Cause I'll rise again
Ain't no power on earth can tie me down!
Yes, I'll rise again
Death can't keep Me in the ground

If That Isn't Love

I don't often win when I enter challenges...and I think it is because they are so many super talented people out there. When I do win I always whoop and holler so it was with a whoop and a holler that I  received notice from Stempelsonne.
It took a bit of work as there was a language barrier, but I finally figured out what the e-mail meant. This is one of the images I won and I believe it is a Lacy Sunshine digi. My card is pretty simple but it was a fun color. I kept it in the lavender range as I have been wanting to play with that color a bit. I add a touch of Stickles to the center of the flowers and some pretty rhinestones to accent the image.
I am entering this card  at the following challenges:

My Song: Ray Boltz

He left the splendor of heaven,
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha,
There to lay down His life for me.
If that isn't love the ocean is dry,
There're no stars in the sky
And the sparrow can't fly!
If that isn't love then heaven's a myth,
There's no feeling like this,
If that isn't love.
Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side;
He spoke with love and compassion
Then He took him to Paradise.

Cooking Up Some Fun!

I found these two wonderful stamps by Nain Zurisaddai Xicotencatl Avalos  you can click here to go to his/her? shop. (Sorry I am confused if this is a male or female artist! After winning a challenge. I have a friend who loves to cook. She is a good cook and I have helped her on more than one occasion . She is a great cook but very messy. I am always chasing after her wiping counters and washing her pots and pans. LOL! These fun images made me think of her and so I decided to make a birthday card for her using them. I added a silver spoon and fork and attached them to the cute pink country heart! I have had these hearts for years and they came in a huge bag of buttons. I must get them out and use them more often. A sheer ribbon  and a WOC rose finish off my card!

Young At Heart

A friend of mine asked me to make a birthday card for her daughter's 50th birthday. The request was to make a card that was "kind of snarky". I hope this card fits the bill. The stamp is one I won several years ago in a challenge but had never used. I couldn't find where I won it or whom the artist is. If anyone knows please let me know and I will give them credit. I added liquid glass to the balloons, pearls, earrings, and buttons. The paper is from an old pad that has long ago lost it's cover. I used some pretty flowers from WOC and added leaves with a favorite die of mine that came from CC Designs. I love this die as it is a double die and you can use the curve of the cut to decorate either side of your card. The sentiments are from TLC and Ginger's House and both were freebies. The 50 is from a close out bin.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Little Bitty (Alan Jackson)
Have a little love on a little honeymoon
You got a little dish and you got a little spoon
A little bitty house and a little bitty yard
A little bitty dog and a little bitty car.

Well, it's alright to be little bitty
A little hometown or a big old city
Might as well share, might as well smile
Life goes on for a little bitty while.

Happy "43rd" Anniversary Steve

A closr look at the image!
The left inside of my card!
The right inside of my card!
Today is a special day for me, it is the day I married my best friend. It is hard to believe that 43 years have passed. I have been blessed in so many ways and I thank God that I am married to Steve. I look forward to many more years together. So, Happy Anniversary Steve!
I made this card (no it is not an anniversary card) from a Atelier digi image called 'little sir". He is so cute and so fun to color. I placed him outside of my stitched die cut. After I made the card I decided I would make another and put a door behind him. He would be a great card for someone going to their first prom, anniversary or as I have done a birthday card. My DP is from a small pad and I don't have the cover on it but it is so pretty. The paper is all shinny silver prints. I thought it looked elegant with the deep red in my card. I added the polk a dot ribbon it was just a bit I had in my stash, but the perfect size for this card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: (Wayne Newton)
I want some red roses for a blue lady
Mister Florist, take my order please
We had a silly quarrel the other day
I hope these pretty flowers, chase her blues away
Wrap up some red roses for a blue lady
Send them to the sweetest gal in town
And if they do the trick, I'll hurry back to pick
Your best white orchid for her wedding gown

Embossing of Any Kind!

A closer look at the fun image!

A cute little fairy god mother!
Are you ready to do a little embossing? The new challenge at The Paper Shelter is embossing of any kind! I chose a gold metallic paper which dry embossing looks lovely one, but it is a bug a boo to try and photograph. My card is really a deep gold color with deep chocolate brown accents. Even the ribbon is a brown and gold stripe. I added some cute little bingo cards, and fussy cut the fairy godmother. (My grandsons think she looks like me!) Gold pearls finished off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My song: A dream Is a Wish!
A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep

Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true
