"Young Love"

This is another of those "use up the strange paper" cards. This is one of my cute little "LOTV" images. I colored the image with copics and framed it with a Spellbinder die. I added paper lace that I sponged with SU Old Olive. I tied a multi loop bow with seam binding. A little green ribbon, button, and some mulberry lowers finished off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"You Make Me Smile"

I am trying to use up some of my 'funky' paper. You know the sheets that come in a pack and you're not quiet sure what you are going to do with them. I have resolved to use them. So, you may see some different combinations from me. LOL! I haven't colored one of my "Sugars" for some time, I don't know why as they were my first love in stamping and continue to be. I decided to use some sunshine yellow paper as we can't seem to get any sunshine here. I colored my image with Copics and framed her with a Lifestyle die. I used a Do-Hickey die for the first layer of my flowers, then added a prima flower and the final layer is a WOC flower. I used a SU tag punch and sentiment to finish my 'sunny' card! I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Let It Snow or No More Rain!"

We have had such a cold, wet, dreary, spring. I am amazed when I see that many of you are having a heat wave. We are still having to run heat to take the chill out of the air. This cute little guy doesn't mind the chill! The image is a Magnolia stamp. I colored the image with my Copics. I added flock to his hat, glitter to the snow base and liquid glass to the star and the lantern. I added three ornament buttons and a "Let it Snow" button. I dry embossed the silver and white paper. I always struggle with multi-layer cards. I look at others work and all the paper seems to go  together so well and mine sometimes doesn't. If there is a secret to it and you want to share with me I would be happy to learn from you. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

It's Spring....isn't it?

My poor neglected Maggies were calling me today. I do love coloring these cute little images. I also decided to do a little paper piecing on her dress and hat ribbon. I colored the image with Copics. Framed her with a new EK punch from my DH and a bit of lace. Mulberry roses and half pearls finished off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

UR...so beautiful....to me!

Does anyone else remember Alfalfa singing that song? I must be getting old as even my kids don't remember the "Little Rascals".  My good friend Amanda has got me hooked on the Paper Sundaes challenges. This week is "Let's Get Sentimental" hence my title of this blog entry! I used my new EK punch that my DH bought for me. Isn't it pretty? The image is a "Wee Images" and the sentiment is from CTMH. I added mulberry flowers, and a cute little stick pin from my sweet friend Elaine. I colored the image with Copics and added three pink rhinestones to finish off this card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

Monday Means MOJO

This is my rather poor attempt at vintage/shabby/chic. It is also my Mojo Monday card. The positive about my card is the lovely flower....darn I can't even take credit for it, because Glenda Brooks made it! LOL....I think I am cheating on this card a bit! I framed it with a lace doily die. I also used a MS lace punch. A bit of seam binding (also a gift) and three dew drops finished off my card. I might as well throw in that since the other Patti Sue is moving and can't craft this is for her also. I should have called this a community effort card! LOL! Have a great Monday!

It's June....Someone is Getting Married!

It's Sunday...it's June...it's time for the new stamps to be released! Kenny K has a bunch of new stamps just in time for those June wedding cards. This week the challenge is a sketch by none other than our lovely Donna. Team A has some fantastic cards you are going to love! Way to go team A! I had to play along no matter that I am on team B. I love when weddings end in such a fun way. This couple certainly looks like they are having fun.  Although I didn't follow the sketch on my second card (see above posting), I wanted  you to see the different looks you can achieve with the same image. Kenny K is offering 5 images (winner's choice) and Bearly Mine Designs is offering two digi sets!

"The Wedding Couple"

I made this card for a special friend of mine (we share the same name). I was honored she asked me to color an image for her. My other dear friend Amanda gave me the ever wise advice to add some sparkle and pearls. A girl can never go wrong with those! I added some paper lace with a MS punch and added pearls to the center of these. I added some roses from WOC, the leaves are from a Magnolia die. A bow and some pearl sticks finished off my card.

Dragon Flies and Buttterflies!

This is a card I did for a challenge that didn't exist...but I thought it did! I really just wanted to say how blessed my life is with my blogging friends. I  never knew when I started this almost a year ago where this would lead. It took me weeks to get up nerve to leave a comment on a blog. That sweet, lady is now a very dear friend. You have each encouraged me and blessed me. You have made me laugh (especially you Amanda) I have hurt when you have been hurt. Some of you I may never get a chance to meet face to face, but some of you I know we will meet someday. On a blog the other day I read that  when we enter a challenge we should each comment on the card that proceeds our entry. I am going to start doing that and I hope each of you will consider doing the same. Here is a quote from Mother Teresa that would be good for all of us to live by:
"Let no one ever come to you
without leaving better and happier.
Be the living expression of God's kindness;
kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes,
kindness in your smile."
~Mother Teresa
Blessings to each of you!

Happy Birthday Traci

Next week will be my oldest child's birthday. My sweet little girl will be (gulp) 35. How did that happen? I wanted to do a card that was really special. I love this "Wee" image and thought it would be the perfect card for her. I colored the image with Copics and added some glitter to her wings. I punched out the butterfly with a MS punch and added Stickles to make it sparkle. I used a tag frame from Spellbinders to make a cute little holder for my WOC mulberry rose.  A little ribbon and lace finished off my birthday card. Traci bug we love you and are blessed having you as a daughter.

"My Life Is So Blessed"

I had to get this done for Priscilla's Midnight Madness. Love playing with their sketches. This is one of my "LOTV" stamps. I decided to hand write my sentiment. I am not sure that was the best thing to do! I found the cute little glasses at the local Dollar store. I added the little roses to dress them up. Just a fun little card. I hope you enjoy it!

"Love Grows"

I think it is because we have had such dark, dreary, days here that I made such a 'bright' card. I have to admit it may look gaudy, but I like it! (Did I mention that my daughter doesn't think I have any taste?) LOL! I love this cute little image from LOTV. I colored the image with.....what else?....my Copics! I punched the lace with a MS punch. I added a sheer ribbon and added  a cute sunflower button to the bow. The sentiment is also from LOTV and I framed it with a SU circle punch. The DP is from Debbie Mum...isn't it cute? I am entering this card at the following challenges:

Wedding Images

I have been coloring a few wedding images up for a dear friend (the other Patti Sue) and decided to color this cute little image from Wee Stamps. (Did I mention I was on a "Wee" kick this week-end?)
I just got to playing with some images and couldn't seem to stop! I am assuming it is the rainy weather.
I colored the image with my Copics and added some Spica pen to give the image some glittery lights. The ribbon is some I have had since my daughter was 4 and this card used the last of the spool. My daughter will be 35 this year. Do you think I am a hoarder? LOL! The ticket sentiment is a freebie from Bizzy Bec's, I thought it fit this image so well. My rolled roses were made by lil' ole me! I have so much fun making these things. I added little black buttons to the centers and some fern leaves to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:

It is Christmas in the Heart!

Since I was doing a Christmas card in May, I decided to do  'non-traditional' colors. It still feels like winter here. But I am so grateful that we don't have the devastation from storms that so many are having. This little image is from Wee Stamps. I colored the image with Copics and added a little glitter and Spica pen to make this image sparkle. I used my Lifestyle dies to cut the image out and to frame it. I think my paper is from SU. I added ribbon and metal snowflakes. I used a CTMH sentiment and framed it with a Spellbinders tag die. Another card to add to my Christmas supply.

Oh, Those Fabulous Flowers!

So, sorry about this crummy picture. I couldn't seem to get a good picture of this card. It is time for another challenge at KKKG's. This week the challenge is "Those Fabulous Flowers". This is one that is right up my alley. This cute image is called "Bathing Beauty". Doesn't she remind you of the 50's pin-up girls? I had this cute paper and wanted to showcase this image with it. I used an embossing folder, added some cute ribbon, pearls and of course some fabulous flowers to create this fun summer card.
Kenny K is offering 5 digi's to one lucky winner.
Our special guest designer this week is the very talented Anna Marie at http://marias-myspys.blogspot.com/
So, color up those Kenny K images and grab some flowers and play! Happy Memorial Day and thank you to each of our military members, I am so thankful and blessed to have the life I do because of you!

A "Wee" Week-end!

This card is going to a very special lady. She was so kind to send me a wonderful little packet and in that packet was the beautiful daffodil flowers on this card. Are they not the cutest? I was really ill mannered and played with them before I thanked her. So, sweet Glenda, THANK YOU! You can tell I really fell in love with them! LOL! This is a new Wee Image. I think she is so cute watching her 'flower' blow away. You can find this stamp and many more at http://www.weestamps.com/ . I colored the image with Copics and just used some scrap pieces of paper to make my card. I added my flowers from Glenda (Brooks) at http://glendabrooks.blogspot.com/ check out her blog for a treat. A metal frame for my sentiment finished off my fun little card.

I Believe in Fairies!

I think Wee Stamps is fast becoming my favorite stamps. I fell in love with this Fairy. I had so much fun putting this card together. I colored this beautiful image with Copics and added a little glitter to the wings to make them sparkle. I added a silver doily and mounted the image on card stock. I used my Lifestyle dies to cut my mat. Lace, mulberry roses,  fern leaves and a gingham bow were each added. The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley. I added pearls to the outside edge and then popped it on foam tape. I have two more cute images to color and share. I also want to shout out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET AMANDA"! I hope everyone will drop by http://cardscatsandcopics.blogspot.com/ to wish her a Happy Birthday (Saturday!) Have a safe week-end!

"Let It Snow! Oh No!"

A friend of mine 'Pam Sparks' http://expressionswithheart.wordpress.com had told me about a new Christmas challenge coming up. If you have never checked out Pam's blog you have missed a treat. She does beautiful work.....WARNING....she is a terrible influence on new products! LOL! Anyway, this is the sketch that can be found at http://christmaschallenges.blogspot.com/ It really was fun to play with and a great reason to get those Christmas cards made. I colored this cute little h'Angler with Copics. I added a bit of glitter to his hate to make him sparkle. I also added a cute little stick pin. I took pre-made tag and added a sentiment from SU and a reindeer button and popped it out with a bit of foam tape.

Noel???? in May????

I can't believe I am making Christmas cards today....but here is the proof! LOL! I know I will be glad when it comes time to start mailing them out! This is an image from Mo Manning called "I even love the box". I have seen this very scene with my own grand kids. I colored the image with Copics and added a bit of Spica pen and glitter to the image. A tag with a Noel button and star button are my sentiment. I added a cute little bow to finish off my card. So now I have card number one done!

Funky and Fun!

After a morning of ironing...ugh! The sky has turned dark and overcast, so I decided to take time and play! I had to have another go at merging images, so I picked these two from Kenny K. I decided to play with my Copics and got a little wild on the hair. I really have no clue who this card will go to, probably one of the teen girls at church, but it was fun to play with. All the paper is scraps from my never ending box and the flowers are from WOC. Just a fun little card to practice on. Have a great day!

Merging Images!

This is another image that I played with images and merged them with a background. These cute little images are from Mo Manning. There is nothing like a bossy elder sibling and an ever enduring family pet! LOL! I colored my image with Copics. I used the sketch at Pricillia's Midnight Madness. A couple of SU ribbon sliders and three lace flowers with a pink dew drop center finished off my card.

"Summer Smiles"

Last night I played with merging images. Those of you whom have mastered this will wonder why this is a big deal for me. LOL! But this is my first merged image. I had lots of fun playing with different images and seeing what I could come up with. I decided to use this cute little h'angler (a gift from a very sweet friend)! and make my "Mojo Monday" card. All of my papers came from my scrap box. I colored the image with Copics. (I don't know why the bear's cheeks look orange in RL they are pink! I added my lace edge with a Magnolia die, real lace flowers and a small metal edged tag. the sun flower is a left over from a project from last summer. Three half pearls finished off my card.

"It's a White Out"

It is challenge time again at KKKG's! This one is so much fun and the cards by the DT are stunning. So dig out your white because the challenge is white on white with only the image colored! I love doing this type of card and I think they are so very beautiful! I wanted to create another birthday card for a special friend and I had that in mind when I started this card. I colored my image with Copics and added a little Spica pen to the guitar. I used my crop-a-dile to add some dots to the back ground and then also added texture with a stamping up embossing folder and a sizzix folder. I rolled my own roses and added white pearl centers. I used a McGill fern punch and punched white graphite paper for the leaves. (I hope you can see them!) I used a sizzix die to cut out my swirls and added some white glitter to them and the sentiment for the "Bling" I love. A strip of lace with a Magnolia die and some real lace finished off my card. I hope all of you will hop over to
to join in on the fun! REMEMBER you must use a Kenny K image in order to win the fab prizes!
This week Kenny K is offering 5 digis of your choice and Crafty Emma is offering a stamp called Fabulous! How much fun is that?

Happy Birthday ????

I have a few friends that will be celebrating their birthdays soon! This card is for one of them. This image is a digi from "Wee Stamps". I think she is so very cute! I colored her with my Copics. I thought she looked like spring! I framed her with a Spellbinders die and added two half pearls. I added some pretty flowers and beautiful lace from WOC. I used a McGill punch for the fern leaves. Hand stitching finished off my card. I hope you each have a wonderful week-end.

"TGIF"

Today my craft room kept calling me to come and play. This has been a busy month and making time to craft was hard to do. Today I let the dust bunnies gather and played. This cute little image perfectly fit the way I was feeling. It is spring, the birds are singing, flowers are blooming and best of all the sun was shinning.  I had intended to just make birthday cards for some special friends but I strayed off the path a bit with this card. I am sure I will find someone to send this card to! LOL! The image is a free digi I found on the Internet. I colored her with Copics and popped her a bit with foam tape. I used a MS punch to add some paper lace. I added some flowers from WOC, also some pearls. The butterfly is a MS punch and I added Stickles to make it glitter. A pretty ribbon and a pink heart button finished off my card. I will enter this card in challenges as I locate them. Have a blessed week-end.

Oh No...Where's the Mojo Patti Sue?

I love to start the week off with Mojo Monday. But, this week I was trying to 'practice' coloring an image for my good friend the "Other Patti Sue". I just struggled trying to put this card together. I think I was trying to over think it and just couldn't relax and enjoy the sketch. I wanted to work up my card in creams and black...not a normal combination for me. Well, I tried think out of the box and this is what happens. I colored this cute little LOTV stamp with Copics. I added some Spica pen for a little bling. My DP is DCWV, I added a Mulberry rose from  WOC, half pearls. I used  a Spellbinders die to frame the rose and a MS punch for the cute little flower boarders. (Note to Patti Sue: I will keep practicing!)

"Love Is A Battlefield!"

I love this image from Kenny K....I thought she went perfect with my sentiment! This is such a fun challenge this week at KKKG's! It is to use one die cut and one punch...right up my alley! I used one of my new Spellbinders die and inked the edges. I added a cute little ribbon and bow from some ribbon my dear friend Amanda sent me! Isn't it cute? I punched out my flowers and added some rhinestones to the center of the flower. I used a McGill punch for the fern. I am having a problem with this sticking and I keep plopping it down to get it to pop back up. I am sure is is not the approved method for unsticking a punch! A butterfly and punched ticket sentiment finished off my card. Kenny K is offering 5 digi's of the winner's choice and our sponsor is Michelle's Scrapbooking store and they are offering a $15 gift certificate to the lucky winner.

"My Daughter"

I wanted to make a card for my daughter just to brighten her day. I am so very proud of her and all she has accomplished. She has had set backs in her life and has managed to rise above them. She has kept her focus on her education. She volunteers in her community for worthy causes and is a supportive friend, sister and daughter. So, when I received this cute little Sugar Nellie from  my dear friend Elaine I just had to use it for my daughter's card. I colored the image with Copics. I added liquid glass to the glasses and the apple. I framed the image with a Spellbinders die. My dp is from the Linen Closet (love this pad)! Ribbon (thanks Amanda!) and roses from WOC finished off my card.

"Fishing"

I love the h'Angler boy stamps (also the girl stamps). I wish I could just order them like Magnolia, LOTV, and Sugar Nellies. HINT! HINT! This little guy came from my dear friend Elaine....Thanks! This is just the cutest little guy and like my grandsons he loves fishing. Of course my grandsons like to go fishing with their Papa...but they never bring back fish like this! LOL! I colored this cute little guy with Copics and added a bit of Spica pens for some bling! My paper is all from my scrap bin. The sentiment is a stamp I found several years ago at a yard sail. I brought it home and cleaned it up and it is one of my favorites. I added two spiral brads, ric rack and ribbon to finish off my card. Just a fun card to make. Hope every one's Monday went well. Blessings!

"Happy Birthday Lou Lou"

I had so much fun making this card. The paper was a gift from my sweet friend Elaine, the ribbon from Amanda. I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends. This is one of those cards that just fell together. I have a dear friend that is celebrating her birthday next week. We always give each other cards that make us laugh. When I saw this sentiment I just had to work it up into a card for Lou Ann. I know she will get a kick out of it. The image is a "Lily of  the Valley", that I colored with Copics. I framed it and the sentiment with Nestabilities. I added paper lace with a MS punch and three pink drops. I also used a little Spica pen to add a little bling to the card. The inside cupcake is a stamp that I bought from a sale bin. Happy Birthday Lou Lou...hope you have a wonderful year!

Happy Birthday!

I have a good friend who plays the piano at church and is the music worship leader. Her musicality is fantastic and she will always lift your spirit. Her birthday is coming up this month and I wanted to do a special card for her to let her know how special she is. I love this h'Angler image and she does look like she is ready for a a day of shopping or church! LOL! I used scrap paper pieces on this card. Love to use those up. My dear friend Elaine sent me some Lily of the Valley sentiments and this one was just perfect for this card. (Heads up Elaine you have something coming your way!) I used two MS punches to create my lace and added four red buttons, a red sheer bow finishes off this fun little card!

"Stayin Alive"

OK...I admit that I just love this guy....I love the pocket protector with all the important items needed, the bow tie and the white socks that are falling down and that he is bustin a move! LOL! The challenge this week is a card for "Father's Day". I know my husband will get a kick out of either one of these cards. I used scrap pieces for both cards. The 'shiny' disco ball and my swirl is from an old gift sack and I just punched and cut the shapes out for them. I also added liquid glass to the glasses to make them look nice and thick. The second card I punched stars out with SU punches.  I hope each of the great dad's out there will have a wonderful Father's Day. Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband and to my son Jeff .... you two are the best!

Friend to Friend

I don't know why the yellow looks so intense in this picture..in real life it is a very soft buttery yellow. LOL! I loved the sketch at "Mojo Monday" this week. It just went together so nice for me! Today I was reminded how blessed I am with my friends. Just a sample of who touched my life today, Elaine, Donalda, Glenda, Amanda, Janie, Shirley, Patti Sue (the other one) and a local friend Glenda. Each brightened my day in a different way. I had to stop and say a prayer for each of them as they are such a blessing in my life. I think each of us should practice reaching out to others, don't you?
Now for my card. I colored my darling little Maggie image with Copics. I used one of my new Spellbinder dies to frame her, all of my dp paper is from my scrap box. I added a lovely ribbon (a gift from Amanda). I just love how it sparkles and the swirls are embossed. My sentiment is from an old SU set and framed with a Spellbinder label die. I added half pearls and a rose from LOTV. I used a McGill punch for the fern and a MS punch for the lace edge. A little flower soft added a soft fuzzy tail to the bunny and finished off my card.  I am entering this card at the following challenges:

"Happy Birthday Logan"

I just fell in love with this little 'Cowboy'! I think he is so cute and makes the perfect birthday card for my grandson. (Actually for any little boy!) I made the card up in two different ways just because I was having so much fun playing with this image. Both of my dp is from DC with a view. The image is a digi from http://www.thepapershelter.com/  they have some of the cutest images there. I colored the image with Copics. The first card I used a MS boarder punch  and added some ric-rac (thanks Amanda!) I also added metal corners a little twine and a Whimsy ticket sentiment. The second card I used a MS boarder punch (kind of reminded me of prickly pear cacti LOL) I embossed it with a Sizzix paisley embossing folder. I then added a brown scrap piece and two metal ribbon holders (the ribbon is also from Amanda). I finished off this card with some self-adhesive cording and a Whimsy ticket sentiment.

"Pink And Tough"

I love this image, maybe because my mom wanted a 'girly' girl and I was such a tomboy. So, for me it was perfect for the 'pink' challenge this week at KKKG's. I colored this cute little image with Copics. I cut the image out and mounted it on a die cut circle. I used a Die-Namic die for the lace and clipped and glued it to the circle. I cut two tabs and embossed them with a SU embossing folder. A pink felt button and a resin sentiment finished off my card. There are some FANTASTIC prizes this week.
Kenny K is offering the winner 5 digi images and Wild Orchid Crafts is also sponsoring a prize....darn I wish I could play! LOL!
Hop on over to KKKG's to play this week!

"Girls Rule"

I hardly ever use orange when I am card making. But, I found this cute dp in my stash and just had to make it up in a card. I used my Copics to color this cute little h'Angler. I used my MS punches for the lace boarders. My sweet friend Amanda sent me some of the loveliest ribbons and this one was just perfect for my card. My lovely flower was made by my other dear friend Glenda...isn't it just the prettiest? The sentiment is a tag from Whimsy. I added three half pearls to finish off my card.
