My Little Red Wagon!

A closer look!
Felt rolled flowers.
The inside of my card!

How many of you still have a little red wagon at your house. We bought one for our daughter when she was a baby. We still have it. It is faded and the handle is slightly bent but it still rolls like always. It is my plan to get it down this summer and clean it up for our little grandson Lincoln to play with. Which leads me to this fun card with a Mo Manning stamp. Isn't she just the cutest? I die cut some felt and made the rolled roses. I always love these flowers and think I may have just about mastered them. Glenda Brooks these have only taken me ten years to learn! LOL! Please drop by Glenda's blog here to see her lovely work. She makes the most beautiful flowers. It is my dream that someday we will meet IRL and get to sit and gab a bit. (Warning Glenda!) I wanted my die cut to look like a trellis behind this cute image. Some pretty rhinestones from Queen and company finish off this fun card. I used a stamp from ODB for the left inside of my card and one from Sweet and Sassy for the right inside. I hope you enjoy this last day of March and now we are on to April showers!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Little Red Wagon (Miranda Lambert)
You only love me for my big sun glasses
And my Tony Lomas
And my Dodge Dart classic
You said "I'll be Johnny and you'll be June
I'll ride with you to the moon"
But guess what?
You can't ride in my little red wagon
The front seat's broken and the axle's draggin'
You can't step to this backyard swagger
You know it ain't my fault when I'm walkin' jaws droppin' like
Ooh, ah, ooh, ah

A Little Steampunk!

 A closer look!
 A look at the image!
 The die cuts and brads!
A peek at the inside of my card.
I have never thought about  doing a steam punk card, but when I saw this image from Faery Ink, I knew I would have to give it a go. I liked that I could go a bit crazy with the colors and so I just had fun with this card.Even though the colors are non-traditional, I like that it isn't a 'dark' card. The colors of the gears were actually the colors in my card and colors that I used to color this stamp. It is called Autumn Rose and you can find it here! The cute little brads added a whimsical look.  I added liquid glass to the gears and it did change the color a bit. The inside sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy. I hope you like this fun card and you enjoy my "little bit" of steampunk!
I am entering my card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Eye Of The Storm (The Isaacs)
Like a ship sailing out on a trip so rough and long
So far from shore, so far from home.
I set out in search of a reason to go on
And I found it in the eye of the storm
No matter what storm clouds may rock this ship of mine
The light of my Savior will lead me safely through the night
Though my ship may be rocky and my sails may be torn
I shall rest in the eye of the storm.

Easter Time!

Do you and your family have a tradition for Easter? Through the years we have done various things such as ham dinners with all the trimmings, roasting hot dogs, or  picnic lunches depending on the weather. We often have an Easter egg hunt at our house for the grandkids after church. The kids seem to enjoy this and then they hide the eggs for the adults to find. It seems each year we 'lose' some eggs as the kids can't remember where they hid them. We have had a few surprises over the years. I don't often make  Easter cards but The Paper Shelter is having a fun challenge. We want to see your cards with an Easter theme. I chose Candy Bunny  for this fun card. I kept this card pretty simple with some pretty pink pearls, a sheer dotted ribbon and some cute Easter buttons that I have had for years and never used. I hope you will join our fun Easter challenge. I can't wait to see your lovely makes! Happy Easter everyone and please take a moment to reflect on the great gift the Lord gave to each of us!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: Because He Lives, Amen (Matt Maher)
I believe in the son
I believe in the risen one
I believe I overcome
By the power of his blood
Amen
Amen
I'm alive
I'm alive
Because He lives
Amen
Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends
Because He lives
I was dead in the grave
I was covered in sin and shame
I heard mercy call my name
He rolled the stone away
Amen

Spring flowers?

This has been a long, cold, dreary, winter and I am ready for spring.  I think that is why I had to do a batch of cards with pinks, yellows and light blues. Anything to remind me it it is soon going to be spring. This stamp by Ching Chou Kuik! I enjoyed coloring this pretty image but the folds in the dress were a challenge and I can see I need to get busy on my clothing  class at Kit and Clowder. I  always seem to be battling time and too many things to do. It seems I am stealing time to craft anymore.  I do enjoy when I am able to sneak a few minutes and get a bit of coloring.  I hope you enjoy this card and that you have a day filled with blessings.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I Am A Promise (The Gaithers)
I am a promise,
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P";
I can be anything, anything God wants me to be...
You are a promise!
You are a possibility!
You are a promise with a capital "P"!
You are a great big bundle of potentiality!
And if you'll listen, you'll hear God's voice;
And if you're trying, he'll help you make the right choices
You're a promise to be anything He wants you to be!

"D" Is For Delicious

With the number of problems I am having with my new laptop, the  photo program is a major one. For some reason it adds tints to some photos. I have no idea why this happens but as you can see in these photos it is crazy and I can't seem to undo the tint.  I will keep on trying to master this program, but at the moment I would like to pitch it out the door!
A few years ago I went to a yard sale and they were selling a whole box of House Mouse stamps. I snatched them up as fast as I could. I am afraid that I scooted them to the back of my shelves and promptly forgot about them. Then when I was re-organizing my room I came across the box. I pulled this one out and once I stamped and colored it, I knew it would be the perfect card for our youngest grandson Lincoln's second birthday. (His birthday was in February but I saved posting it for the new challenge at ABC Challenge!) Our lovely sponsor is Bunny Zoe and you can find so many things at her shop. There is something for everyone! My paper is over 5 years old. I think the words "paper hoarder' might just apply here!  Our letter is "D" for Delicious! We want you to create something delicious, create something food related, be it the image, paper or project.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Rock and Roll Lullaby (BJ Thomas)
She was just sixteen and all alone
When I came to be
So we grew up together
My mama child and me
Now things were bad and she was scared
But whenever I would cry
She'd calm my fears and dry my tears
With a rock and roll lullaby
And she'd sing sha na na na na na na na na
It'll be all right
Sha na na na na na na na na na
Just hold on tight
Sing it to me mama, mama mama mama
Sing it sweet and clear
Oh, mama let me hear that old rock and roll lullaby

Watch The Lamb

A closer look at the stamp!
 The inside of my card!
 Another look!
I don't often do CAS cards (believe me this is CAS for me!). But, once I started laying out this card I didn't want to add a lot that would take away from the stamp. I added some pretty dots from Queen and Co. and a sheer ribbon and bow, and a little sheep button.  The paper came from my scrap box and was left over from a Valentine project. I am sending this card to my aunt in Missouri. I know she will like this and I hope it will brighten her day.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
I know this song is long but I had to let you see the whole song!
My Song: Watch The Lamb
Walking on the road to Jerusalem
The time had come to sacrifice again
My two small sons, they walk beside me on the road
The reason that they came was to watch the lamb
And they said, "Daddy, Daddy, what will we see there?
There's so much that we don't understand"
And so I told them of Moses and father Abraham
Then I said, "Dear children, watch the lamb"
There will be so many in Jerusalem today
We must be sure the lamb doesn't run away
And I told them of Moses and father Abraham
Then I said, "Dear children, watch the lamb"
When we reached the city, I knew something must be wrong
There were no joyful worshipers there, no joyful worship songs
And I stood there with my children in the midst of angry men
Then I heard the crowd cry out, let's crucify Him
We tried to leave the city but we could not get away
Forced to play in this drama, a part I did not wish to play
Why upon this day were men condemned to die?
Why were we standing here where soon they would pass by?
I looked and said, even now they come
The first one cried for mercy, the people gave him none
The second one was violent and he was arrogant and loud
I still here his angry voice screaming at the crowd
Then someone said, "There's Jesus", I scarce believed my eyes
A man so badly beaten, He barely looked alive
Blood poured from His body, from the thorns upon His brow
Running down the Cross, falling to the ground
I watched as He struggled, I watched Him when He fell
The cross came down upon His back, the crowd began to yell
In that moment I felt such agony, in that moment I felt such loss
Till a Roman soldier grabbed my arm and screamed
"You, carry His cross"
At first I tried to resist him, then his hand reached for his sword
So I knelt and took the Cross from the Lord
I put it on my shoulder and we started down the street
The blood that he'd been shedding was running down my cheek
They led us to Golgotha, they drove nails deep in His feet and hands
Yet upon the Cross I heard Him pray, "Father, forgive them"
Never have I seen such love in any other eyes
"Into Thy hands I commit my spirit", He prayed and then He died
I stood for what seemed like years, I'd lost all sense of time
Until I felt two little hands holding tight to mine
The children stood there weeping, I heard the oldest say
"Father please forgive us, the lamb ran away"
"Daddy, daddy, what have we seen here?
There's so much that we don't understand?"
So I took them in my arms and we turned and faced the Cross
Then I said, "Dear children watch the lamb"

A Little Fairy Dust!

This beautiful image is from Faery Ink and is called Arielle. She was a freebie on Facebook recently. She was such a fun to color and I love all of Faery Ink's stamps.  I love making easel cards but I do find them hard to photograph.  My pretty, sparkle on my card are embellishments from Queen and Co.
They are one of my favorite go to shops! This is just a fun little card that will go out to someone special to celebrate their birthday. Since it is so cold, dark and dreary here today, I am hoping this card will brighten someone's day! Have  great week-end!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Put A Little Love In Your Heart
Think of your fellow man
Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heart
You see it's getting late
Oh please don't hesitate
Put a little love in your heart
And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Another day goes by
And still the children cry
Put a little love in you heart
If you want the world to know
We won't let hatred grow
Put a little love in your heart

My song: Three Bells (Roy Orbison)
There's a village hidden deep in the valley
Among the pine trees half forlorn
And there on a sunny morning
Little Jimmy Brown was born
All the chapel bells were ringing in the little valley town
And the song that they were singing was for baby Jimmy Brown
Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"Lead us not into temptation, bless this hour of meditation"
"Guide him with eternal love"
There's a village hidden deep in the valley
Beneath the mountains high above
And there, twenty years thereafter
Jimmy was to meet his love
All the chapel bells were ringing, 'twas a great day in his life
'cause the songs that they were singing was for Jimmy and his wife
Then the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"Lead us not into temptation, bless, oh Lord this celebration"
"May their lives be filled with love"
From the village hidden deep in the valley
One rainy morning dark and gray
A soul winged its way to heaven
Jimmy Brown had passed away
Just a lonely bell was ringing in the little valley town
'twas farewell that it was singing to our little Jimmy Brown
And the little congregation prayed for guidance from above
"Lead us not into temptation, may his soul find the salvation"
"Of Thy great eternal love"

Cowgirls Don't Cry

 A closer look!
 Even closer!
 Left inside of my card!

 Right inside of my card!
I took some time and played. Somehow I thought when you retired that you would be free to do whatever you want, whenever you wanted. Instead, I seem to always have something that needs to be done, needs to be fixed, or I have been asked to do. Some days, I just have to forget it all and play. LOL! Does anyone else feel that way? This stamp is from cab I purchased to make a card for one of the cowgirl friends I have. I wanted her to look a bit on the 'girly' side so I chose pink as the dominate color on my card. A pretty gingham ribbon and some matching buttons from Queen and Co. added some additional country charm. The pretty rhinestone hearts add some sparkle to the card. My sentiments is from Sweet and Sassy stamps. I hope you like this fun card and I also hope you can take time to play today!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Cowgirls Don't Cry (Brooks and Dunn)
Her daddy gave her, her first pony
Then taught her to ride
She climbed high in that saddle
Fell I don't know how many times
He taught her a lesson that she learned
Maybe a little too well
Cowgirls don't cry, ride, baby, ride
Lessons in life are gonna show you in time
Soon enough you gonna know why
It's gonna hurt every now and then
If you fall get back on again
Cowgirls don't cry

C is for Cute

We are already in the month of March does anyone else feel like this year is flying by? It is time for a new challenge at ABC Challenge. Our letter is "C" for Cuteness. Our lovely sponsor is All Dressed Up. She has such fun images and a variety to choose from! Since this is the month that the first day of spring is I thought a spring card would be perfect. The cute embellishments are from Queen and Co. I love there products and they are reasonably priced so everyone should check them out!  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge and I can't wait to see how you get your "cute" on.
I am entering this card at the following challenge:
My Song: It Was Momma (BJ Thomas)
Who's the one who tied your shoe when you were young
And knew just when to come and see what you had done?
Mama, oh Mama
And who's the one who patched your eye and told you not to cry
'Cause he was too big for you to try?
Mama, Mama
And who's the one you didn't need to plead
To give her time to the Little League?
It was Mama, oh, Mama
And who's the one who gave her shoulder
When you told her your first love was over
She'd met someone older, Mama, Mama
It was Mama, my Mama
Mama, oh Mama
