"You Make Me Smile!"

I was a youth leader for many years at our church. I was blessed to work with some wonderful teenagers. One of those teenagers is now expecting a baby. I am so excited for her and thought I would send her this fun card to let her know she is in my thoughts and prayers. I used this fun image from Krista Smith. My scrumptious paper is a Christmas present from my sweet friend Amanda. I loved putting together the orange and pink....not something I have used together often. I also used my new Memory Box die cut! I used a MS punch for the lace and added some liquid pearls to finish off my card. I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
Having my baby,
What a lovely way of saying how much you love me,
Having my baby,
What a lovely way of saying what you're thinking of me
I can see it, your face is glowing,
I can see it, in your eyes I'm happy you know it
That your ,Having my baby,

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is having a safe and sane New Year's Eve! I took some time today to play. I have been a very busy lady this last month. I have been filling in three days a week for our church secretary. She has had a series of small strokes and is recovering from those. So I have put back on the working shoes and filled in for her. Then I have been a "Mommies Helper" on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have a sweet new mom of 5month old twins who needs a little help while her 'mom' is vacationing in Hawaii for six weeks. The twins are adorable and I am enjoying all the cuddles and baby time, but I am exhausted at the end of the the day. I admire the twins mother as she is amazing with both of the babies. So keep me in your prayers as I attempt to be a helper. LOL! I had this yummy Christmas paper left and decided to use it in an un-Christmas card. the image is from Mo Manning. I tend to look forward to spring after Christmas! This image fit my mood perfectly! I colored it with Copics and framed it with red card stock and added for rhinestone brads.
My Song:
I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows,
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come to show the way,
I believe, I believe.

Warning .... Long Post!

In my spare time I have been coloring and putting together pages of a calendar. This has been rather labor intensive, but I am having lots of fun with it. Along with the image I am also adding a scripture to each page. The calendar is a perpetual one that you pencil in the dates and can change them each year. I wanted to share these pages with you and I am hoping there is a challenge out there that one might fit! LOL! Have a wonderful week and Merry Christmas to each of you!

Bye, Bye, So long, Farewell!

It is official, this is my last card for Kenny K DT. It is time for a new team to step in and all of us 'oldies' to go where old DT members go. LOL! I love this guy, he is just so fun to color. So I decided to do a card for each of my grandsons. Plus, I had to play with some of my new stuff! The first card I used a Whimsy sentiment and I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used some of my lovely paper from "Amanda"....Merry Christmas to me! I finished off this card with twine. The second card I used my new sentiment from my "Kraftin Kimmie stamp set. I also used a Memory box die. This week it is "Anything Goes"....my favorite....at KKKG's challenge! I know you are going to love the work of the new DT and I wish them all the best for the next six months. It is images like this that make Kenny K so much fun.
My Song:
I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away, don't forget to write
Bye-bye, so long, farewell

"Snow Bird"

I wanted to make a card that I could tuck some cash in for my daughter. This is what I came up with. I colored the image with Copics, I added Glamour dust to the hat, pom poms and boot tops. I add Spica pen to the wings and the strings. I added liquid pearls to the snow flakes. I used a new Memory Box die for the ivy. I also used a snowflake embossing flolder on the inside pocket. The tag is a Cherrylynn die and the sentiment is from CTMH. A sheer ribbon finishes this card off.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:
Beneath it's snowy mantle cold and clean,
The unborn grass lies waiting for its coat to turn to green.
The snowbird sings the song he always sings,
And speaks to me of flowers that will bloom again in spring.
When I was young my heart was young then, too.
And anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do.
But now I feel such emptiness within,
For the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win.

God's blessings at Christmas

I started out cleaning my craft room and then got a bit sidetracked! I did finally get my room cleaned, but I had a bit of a play before it was completed. This is an older C.C. image but such a cute one. I colored her with Copics and added a little Spica pen to the snowflakes and the buttons. I used some of my fabulous "Glamour dust" to the wings and the tops of her boots. I used two of my new dies (I am sure Santa wanted me to have these!) for the flowers and leaves. I love these new dies! I added a rhinestone to the center of the flowers and some pearls for more interest. My sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations. Just a fun little easel card for a special friend.
My Song:
When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Happy Birthday!

Could you tell I just had to play a bit! LOL! I have missed it! This is another cute image from Krista Smith! I love this little birthday girl. I used some of my new paper from sweet Amanda....OK...I opened my Christmas package early! But I promised Amanda I would. LOL....(Elaine you are still unopened.) I think the die is a Memory box die (but not sure). I added some ribbon and a button from my stash. Just a fun little card that I wanted to make!
My Song:
Happy Birthday Jesus, I'm so glad it's Christmas
All the tinsel and lights and presents are nice
But the real gift is you.
Happy Birthday Jesus, I'm so glad it's Christmas
All the carols and bells make the holiday swell
And it's all about you
Happy Birthday Jesus, Jesus I love you!

It's A Boy!

I wanted to make a quick little card for a sweet friend who just found out she is having a boy! I loved this image from Krista Smith. The pickle and ice cream is so funny. I colored the image with Copics and added some liquid pearls. Just a simple card to let a friend know I am overjoyed at her miracle!

My Song:
Oh the pitty pitty patter of the little bitty feet's
Gonna pitty pitty patter through our house
(Our house, our house, our house)
Gonna be a comin' in June
Gonna stop our honeymoon
'Cause the pitty pitty patter of the little bitty feet's
Gonna pitty pitty patter through our house

"Sweet Little Baby Jesus"

I just had to do this card. I fell in love with this Mo Manning image and knew I would be using it for Christmas cards this year. I think we often get so busy 'doing' Christmas that we forget to live Christmas. Does anyone else ever feel that way? I am going to send this card to a special friend who has had a really rough time this last few weeks. I hope it will encourage her to know that someone is thinking of her. I used my new Cherrylynn ornament die. I love that die! I colored the image with Copics and added some Spica pen to the wings. I hope each of you are enjoying this holiday season!
My Song:
Sweet little Jesus boy
They made you be born in a manger
Sweet little holy child
We didn't know who you were
Didn't know you'd come to save us Lord
To take our sins away
Our eyes were blind, we could not see
We didn't know who you were

Feeling Frosty!

Is everyone ready for Christmas? Or are you like me and still running around like a mad woman trying to get everything done. For some reason this has been a busy season for me. My DH thinks it might be because I have not learned to say "No". LOL! It is time for another fun challenge at ABC! I am having so much fun on this DT, I must say we have a fabulous team and such fun and talented ladies. Our challenge this time is the letter "F" for Frosty! I just ahd to use this fun stamp. This is one of the first stamps I bought years ago and I love it. I am a snowman lover and this set is so cute. I colored the image with Copics. I added Stickles to the marsmellows and to the sparks on the fire. (I also added a bit of glow from the fire to the snowman's tummy.) I had some of the 'plastic' snow sprinkles so I glued them to the card to add some texture. A bit of silver garland and the sentiment that came with the stamp set finish off my "Frosty" card.  I hope you will play in ABC's challange this time we have a fabulous
$15 gift certificate from
How great is that?

"Are You Lonesome Tonight?"

It is December and I only have one more card to make for the KKKG's DT. I have been on the team for almost a year. I can't believe how fast time is flying by! KKKG's is having a DT call for any of you who might be interested. I have always had fun with this image called "Brooklyn Babe". She definitely has some sass! This weeks challenge is "Texture" lots of fun with this one! I dry embossed my card base with a 'polk a dot'  embossing folder. I added dry wall tape...self adhesive. I then used an 'argyle' embossing folder for my accent strip. I added argyle ribbon. I cut out a circle piece of paper and embossed it with a 'broken glass' embossing folder. I used a 'pewter' ink pad and rubbed over the top of this. My image is colored with Copics and popped it with foam squares. I like the funky look of her hair....I have seen so many of the teens with this style. It always makes me laugh as I remember the wacky things I have done to my hair over the years. I added a ticket sentiment and there you have it...my next to the last card for KKKG's. I hope you will join us for this fun challenge. Kenny K is offering 5 free digis to the winner.

My Song: (Elvis)
ARE YOU  LONESOME TONIGHT?
DO YOU  MISS ME TONIGHT?
ARE YOU SORRY WE  DRIFTED A PART?
DOES YOUR  MEMORY STRAY
TO A  BRIGHT SUMMER DAY
DO THE CHAIRS IN YOUR PARLOR SEEM  EMPTY AND BARE?
DO YOU GAZE AT YOUR DOORSTEP
AND PICTURE ME THERE?
IS YOUR HEART FILLED WITH PAIN?
SHALL I  COME BACK AGAIN?
TELL ME, DEAR, ARE YOU  LONESOME TO NIGHT?

"A Kiss Is Still A Kiss"

Can you believe it? December 1st only 24 more shopping days until Christmas! Yikes! Before you rush out to grab those last minute gifts I hope you will take time to play with us at ABC's Challenge! It is really a fun one! This time we are on the letter "E" for embossing! I love to emboss and it adds so much texture to a card. I decided to do a white on white card. These are a challenge for me but I do like how they turn out. Our sponsor this week is "The Ribbon Girl" they have such yummy ribbons and we can all use those on our cards!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: "A Kiss Is Still A Kiss"
You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.
