I Lift My Hands

 A closer look
 The inside of my card!
This is a new stamp from Unity Stamps. It seemed the perfect stamp for two sisters or for a friend who is always there for you. It was a quick color and I added a bit of liquid glass to the sun. It made me think of the beautiful sunsets on the ocean.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I Lift My Hands (Chris Tomlin)
Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are a fortress for the weak
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart, these things I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Witchy Woman (Eagles)

Sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night

High she flies
Woo hoo witchy woman she got
The moon in her eye
She held me spellbound in the night
Dancing shadows and firelight
Crazy laughter in another
Room and she drove herself to madness
With a silver spoon
Woo hoo witchy woman see how high she flies
Woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye

Give Thanks!

I love fall and fall colors. It is my favorite time of the year. I love this cute image from Cute As A Button. I will be sending this cute cad to a friend who always plans and decorates our church for Thanksgiving. Thanks Robin for all you do.

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Evergreen
Love soft as an easy chair
Love fresh as the morning air
One love that is shared by two
I have found with you

Like a rose under the April snow
I was always certain love would grow
Love ageless and evergreen
Seldom seen by two
You and I will make each night a first
Every day a beginning
Spirits rise and their dance is unrehearsed
They warm and excite us, cause we have the brightest love
Two lives that shine as one
Morning glory and midnight sun
Time we've learned to sail above
Time won't change the meaning of one love
Ageless and ever evergreen

Redemption!

 A closer look!
 My sentiment!
 The inside of my card!
I wanted to make a card for my friend Wendy. (I should say my enabler as she is the one who started me down this path of card making!) She now lives in the state of Washington. I miss her but also know that we are each following God's plan for our lives. This card is just to brighten her day. This wonderful stamp is from Cute As A Button and can be found here
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: A Hallelujah Christmas
I've heard about this baby boy
Who's come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I'm singing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God's only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You'll find Him in a manger bed
Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
A star shown bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the wise men three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

That's What Friends Are For

A closer look!
The inside of my card!
I have a special friend and we are always saying we will be rowdy old ladies in the nursing home. I won this stamp in a challenge and the sentiment was a freebie. I knew it would make the perfect card for her. She got a kick out of it and I would like to think it brightened her day. I like to think that is what my cards do. Anyway I challenge you today to make a card for no reason but to brighten someone's day. Maybe you will see the joy it brings. Something we can all use more of in our lives!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: That's What Friends Are For (Dion Warwick)
And I never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe, I love you
And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes and try
To feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember
Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Music and Dance!

A closer look at the lovely image!
A foameran rose (my first attempt at making a rose)
The inside of my card!
It's that time again! Time for another fun challenge at The Paper Shelter!  I chose the lovely "On Air" Digi to decorate my card. Our fun challenge is music and dance. This lovely digi fits the bill perfectly! I colored her with Copics.  I added added a foameran rose that I just made. (My first rose!) I am having a great time playing with foameran. A pretty die cut and some tiny little flowers from Queen & Co. add some much needed sparkle to my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: With A Little Help From My Friends (The Beatles)
What would you do if I sang out tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
I will try not to sing out of key, yeah
Oh, baby I get by with a little help from my friends
By with a little help from my friends.
All I need is my buddies
By with a little help from my friends
I said I'm gonna get by with a little
By with a little help from my friends

Don't Try This At Home

 A closer look!
 The inside of the card!
Another fun stamp from Whimsy. I am so in love with these cute penguins. I colored my stamp with Copics and added a bit of glitter to make it sparkle. Then I had a brilliant idea to make it a shaker card. I added some tiny pearls from Queen and Company and after working to put it all together I  realized that the pearls keep getting hung up on the glitter. At least my three year old grandson loves shaking it so it was not a total loss.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Winter Wonderland
Sleigh bells ring
Are you listening
In the lane
Snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight
Walking in a winter wonderland
Gone away, is the blue bird
Here to stay, is the new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along
Walking in a winter wonderland

Breath of Heaven

 A closer look!

I don't know why my photo doesn't show this, but I did sponge pink around the image. I was a bit upset because even though the ink was dry the little reindeer smudged. I cleaned it up the best I could but it still looks dirty! I kept this card simple. I love the cute Tilda stamp and just added a bit of fine glitter to the coat and the snow.  I double cut the die cut in green and brown. and added rhinestones to finish off my card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Breath of Heaven
I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy father you have come
And chosen me now to carry your son
I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now
Be with me now
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven

A Midnight Clear

 A closer look!
 The die cut!
Another cute stamp from LOTV.  I added fine glitter to the die cut except for the bow and I added fun flock to the bow. After sneezing for 20 minutes...always happens with fun flock....I then glittered the snow and the white pom pom on the cap. I also added some liquid glass to the boots and the bird house.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Cradle In The Manger, Meanly
Cradled in a manger, meanly,
Laid the Son of Man His head;
Sleeping His first earthly slumber
Where the oxen had been fed.
Happy were those shepherds listening
To the holy angel’s word;
Happy they within that stable
Worshiping their infant Lord.
Happy all who hear the message
Of His coming from above;
Happier still who hail His coming,
And with praises greet His love.
Blessed Savior, Christ most holy,
In a manger Thou didst rest;
Canst Thou stoop again, yet lower,
And abide within my breast?

Find The Cure

 A closer look!
 Ribbon, flowers and rhinestones!
 The inside of my card!
Happy October 1st! This year is flying by. It is also a year with many losses due to cancer. It is time for a challenge at Cute As A Button! I am using this cute stamp called "Find the Cure"! I challenge anyone who is fighting cancer, lost someone to cancer or knows someone who is fighting cancer to make a card and send to them. I pray for the day cancer will be eradicated from our world. This card is in memory of Chad, Dick, Cheryl, and for those who are fighting or have fought this battle, Lillie, Sonja,  Donita, Pat, Carla!  God bless each of you!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: In Christ Alone (Natalie Grant)
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

Let Snow!

I love Wee Stamps and this sweet image is no exception. After our long, long, hot, hot, hot, summer I am ready for winter. We had lots of snow last year and I really hope we get lots this year. I know I am not in the majority of hoping but hey once in a while you have to step outside the box! LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth
To touch their harps of gold!
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From heaven's all gracious King!
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.

Colors of Autumn/Fall

A closer look.

the inside of my card.

Fall colors are my favorite. I love this time of year with the leaves all golden brown, Cooler temperatures make it nice for walking. Then just around the corner is the holidays.  So, The Paper Shelter is having a new challenge using the colors of Autumn or Fall. I chose "Keeper of My Enchanted Forest". I have colored her many times and always love doing so! I used my favorite Copics to color, added some pretty die cuts, rhinestones, a hand-made flower, a felt leaf with a cute button.  So join the fun and show us your colors.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: California Dreamin' (Momma's and the Poppa's)
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is grey
I've been for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day
Stopped into a church
I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees
And I pretend to pray
You know the preacher like the cold
He knows I'm gonna stay
California dreamin'
On such a winter's day

Christmas Don't Be Late!

I am officially in love with this penguin from Whimsy. He is so cute and just makes me smile. Hey, we can all use some smiles. I colored him with Copics and added liquid pearls for snow and extra-fine glitter to the snow. I wish the picture showed it better.  The die cut is from Stamping Up and I added a pearl to dress the bow up.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Chipmunk Song (Yes! I know this is a penguin!)
Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
Want a plane that loops the loop
I still want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.

A Time for Love

 A Closer look!
I love this sweet stamp from LOTV. It is colored with Copics and I added liquid glass to the carrots and the reindeer's nose. (I even put a little glow around the nose!) Some extra fine glitter to the snow and the withe fur on the little girls cap. A little liquid glass to the snow boots and a pretty die cut finished off this Christmas card.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: How Many Kings
Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we've projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother's shawl
Just a child
Is this who we've waited for?
'Cause how many kings step down from their thrones
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

When Love Was Born

A closer look at the stamp!
 The die cut!
One more Christmas card for the stash. Again I am using a stamp from LOTV.  I colored the stamp with Copics. I added some tiny rhinestones to the snowflakes and liquid glass to the star. I also colored my die cut. I am not sure I like the look but it was something different to try. LOL!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: When Love was Born (Mark Schultz)
Starlight shines, the night is still
Shepherds watch from a hill
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born
Perfect child gently waits
A mother bends to kiss God's face
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born
Angels fill the midnight sky, they sing
Hallelujah, He is Christ, our King
Emmanuel, Prince of peace
Loves come down for you and me
Heaven's gift, the holy spark
To let the way inside our hearts
Bethlehem, through your small door
Came the hope we've waited for
The world was changed forevermore
When love was born
I close my eyes, see the night
When love was born

My Song: Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon and Garfunkle)
When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part, oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
