Fairy and Christmas!

Ooops! I first posted this without a note to you! Did I mention I am running around like a chicken with it's head cut off? I don't know as I am accomplishing much but I am busy! LOL! I wanted to share this lovely stamp with you. I received it from my dear friend Elaine for my birthday and I am just now getting it colored. I decided to make it a Christmas card just because I wanted to play around with my Christmas stuff! The Christmas  die cut boarder was also from Elaine, she did spoil me something terrible this year. I colored my image with Copics and twin markers. I added some slitter to the wings for a bit of bling. Just a fun card!

Happy Birthday!

Good Morning! I hope you are enjoying this last Sunday in August. I am so ready for fall and so tired of hot, smokey days here in Idaho. I thought I would color up this cute little Tillda. She looks so wistful. I tried a different color combo this time. My background paper had 'kacki and blue) So I thought I would give it a go. It is actually prettier in real life. (I know we all say that LOL). I used a Spellbinders die that only works for me if I use wax paper with it. The sentiment is old...and the maker is wore off it. I did add some pretty tiger striped rhinestones. I wish they showed up better in the pictures. A little Stickles around the image added some extra bling!

Holiday TIme

Can you believe August is almost over and the kids are back in school here tomorrow. If you haven't got your family summer vacation in you had better hurry as there is not much time left. I took some time to play today. I bought this digi image several months ago and just today colored her up. You can find this image at "A Day for Daisies". I  used a beautiful Spellbinders that my sweet friend Wendy got me. Doesn't it look lovely with this image? I added some pretty Gerber daisies and a touch of lace to finish off this card. My sentiment is from "My Favorite Things" and was a gift from my pal Elaine. (I was really spoiled on my birthday this year!) The DP is from "The Paper Shop". I love this pad of pinks! I added a bit of glitter on the wings of this cute fairy to make them sparkle. Just a fun birthday card to add to my stash. I hope your week-end was filled with blessings. We have so many fires burning around us in Idaho the air is smokey and temps are 100+ I am ready for fall!

Jade's Birthday.

I made this card for a special teen at church. She is always kind to everyone but often has this sad look on her face. This image reminded me of her. I used some new dies (Memory Box)  from my sweet friend Amanda to my my hearts (aren't they cute?)! The Sentiment is an old one that I have had for years. I can not find a maker on it. My paper is from the scrap box. The flower is a Magnolia die. I colored the image with Copics and added Gold Stickles for a bit of bling. Happy Birthday Jade!

A Guy Card!

I had to have a 'guy' birthday card today and didn't have one made! I found this image that I had colored several years ago. I am happy to say my coloring has improved. But, I was desperate and so I snagged this one. It is a cute image from Magnolia stamps. My sentiment on the outside of the card is from a clear stamp set that I have had for some time. The inside is from  a dear friend Janie and is perfect for the person I am giving it to. A simple card for me but as you know, I struggle with guy cards! I hope your Sunday is filled with blessings.

I shared that our Last Challenge at The Paper Shelter was a tough one for me (CAS) but this week's challenge is right up my alley!! This week we want to see Dies and Punches on your cards! As you can see I had lots of fun playing with all my dies. I love layering with dies and punches with tone on tone. I have a total of six layers of die cuts on my card.  A CLOSER LOOK...

I love  Sylvia Zett images and this one is no exception. I was happy to find some time to color this one up. I seem to be struggling with hair again. Just when I think I have it down then I mess up like I did on this image....grrr! Someday I am going to take a hair coloring class...don't know where but I just know I will find one! LOL. I am going to have another go at this one and see if I can get the hang of it yet!

S is for Stitching

Are you ready to stitch? That's right our challenge at ABC's this time is stitching. So show us what you come up with. I made this fun little notebook for a friend. She is always looking for a scrap of paper to write something down.  I thought she cold tuck this little notebook in her purse. I used  a  DCWV  fabric pad that has self adhesive fabric. It was great for covering the notebook but not so great to stitch on. I found a little stitch runner that creates f aux'  stitching. I stamped my sentiment onto my ribbon. A Closer Look!

I have finally recovered enough from Whooping Cough to feel like coloring. I have had this six weeks and I felt miserable! It is good to be feeling like I am finally getting over this. FYI if you had your immunizations back in the 50's then you need another booster shot. It is well worth it to not have something like this!  On to my card. I wanted to enter the Saturated Canary challenge and this is my card for celebrating summer. I am sending it off to my daughter. She loves summer and I thought this would brighten her day. Good morning! Are you ready for fun new challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER?  Both A and B team are joining together for this Anything Goes challenge! I chose one of my favorite new original images. "Keeper Of My Enchanted Forest". I think she is just lovely and has the sweet signature  face that The Paper Shelter is famous for. She is colored with Copics and a little Spica pen added for sparkle. My sweet friend Amanda at Cards, Cats and Copics sent me this lovely Memory Box die for my birthday. I can tell it will be a favorite that I will use over and over. I added some tiny pine cones that my husband I picked up on the Oregon coast.. I just clipped the back of each cone to make it lay flat and glued it to my card. The sentiment is from SU. I hope you enjoy this fun card and will join our Anything Goes party.

Good Morning! Is everyone ready to start a new week off? For the last four weeks I have been trying to kick a particularly nasty upper respiratory bug. Happy Monday again....two in one day woot, whoot, whoot! This is a new image I got from Scarrper's Delight on line store. I thought she had a sweet little face and  was fun to color. this stamp is called "Amelia School Girl Beauty. I did buy another stamp "Honey" but for some reason when I print it is faded and prints in red! Does anyone know what would cause this? I don't like that this site does not have a way of contacting them and I will not buy anything form this store in the future because of this. I am happy with the way this stamp printed. I am off to the Dr. and hopefully I will soon be rid of this nasty bug. Blesssings!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your week is starting off in a wonderful way. Things are not so fun at the Chapman household. Both my husband and I have a nasty bug. I have had it for four weeks and my DH for one. "I" am off to the Dr. this morning to see if I can't get something to help me get over it. DH is toughing it out (that worked out well for me) teehee! I had to share this card with you and show you my latest "Little Miss Muffet" stamp. This little cutie is called "Polk a Dot Pal's Tillie". She is a fun color and I was happy with the way she turned out. (Even if I was running a fever as I colored her!) LOL! The lace on the bottom of my card is a new Die cut from Whimsy Stamps, paper lace is one of my favorite things to use. The cute little foam butterflies came my way as a prize. I added some Stickles on the glasses and liquid glass.  A little bingo card sentiment finished off my card. I hope your Monday goes well and it is filled with blessings.

A Little Treat

I had such a fun time coloring this image. This is another image from The Paper Shelter. We have a yellow lab who loves her treats. She expects one every time she is left at home. Once we return she goes straight to the cabinet they are kept in and looks at it. (Yes! She is spoiled!). I hope you enjoy this fun little card. I can't believe the year is half over and this is the first time I have got to play at Mojo Monday. I am going to try and make more of their challenges as I always have fun with sketches. This one made me think outside my box. My picture doesn't show the colors as clearly as I would like. The paper I used to boarder the pink with is a dark grey.  I can't imagine why it looks so yucky in this picture. this is a new Magnolia stamp I just got. She is adorable and fun to color. I hope your 4th of July is being spent with those you love.

Just a quick post to wish everyone a "Happy 4th of July". I am not really happy with this card. for one thing it is too CAS for me. LOL. I used a Spellbinders label and used it as a ribbon holder and then added flowers from WOC.  My paper is really old (one I have hoarded for a bit). The ribbon came from a discount store. I added rhinestones for a little bling. My lovely image is a "Magnolia Stamp".

I hope you enjoy my card today. I had a fun time making it. Sadly, (although it is just a card)  I made if for a DT challenge and just found out it will not be posted on the DT blog. Which brings me to the crux of the problem. I did not realize until today (July 1) that there was a problem with this image.  I am only posting this card to let artists know my frustration. I am sure I am not alone in my lack of understanding what image is OK and what is not and by what authority it is being deemed so. I will say in defense of The Paper Shelter they instantly took the image down when they were made aware of the controversy. I know they have always been honorable with me and I truly believe in this situation they were also. I do not want to be drawn into a firestorm but I do want artists to know that many of us are just enjoying making cards and do not desire to jump in with fists flying. I would not deliberately post a card to offend anyone but I am posting this card to say it was made innocently and without malice to any artist. I can only imagine  the frustration of one artist with another over copyright infringement. I would hope that everyone would be like Pedro and Veronica at The Paper Shelter and take the higher ground. They have turned the other cheek and so shall I. This is the last time I will post a card with this image. I hope all the artists involved in conflicts with each other will soon be able to resolve their issue with each other!
