"An Apple A Day"

I had such a fun time coloring this image....she is such a cute little country girl! The image is a C.C.  digi (instant gratification when you purchase a digi stamp!) I loved coloring those apples! I cut my flowers out with the C.C. Five Point Flower Die to add a different look to them, I ran them through the crimper and then distressed them with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink Pad I added a black brad to the center and curled the tips of the flowers. One of my favorite leafs for the flowers on my card is the C.C. Leafy Branch Die, I think they look so soft and airy! I did a bit of rummaging and found this little apple button just for a bit of fun. I popped up the image and the flowers with 3-D foam squares! I added three red brads to finish off my fun little card!  I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My DH recently bought me a new camera. Now, I know some of you know that I hate anything techi! I am having to learn as I go with this camera. So, I hope you will bear with me as I learn. I am such a visual learner....in other words I learn by seeing it done....not by 'reading' about it. LOL! This cute image is from the Paper Shelter. I love that she can skate and chew gum at the same time. I used a new MS punch for the lace and add some pink daisies. The die cut is from a Memory Box die. Just a fun little card on a beautiful, sunny Sunday! Blessing!

You're Such A Blessing!

This was such a fun card to make. I had to color up this fun image from Krista Smith "Dreads Are Awesome"! She has a bit of a hippy look also. I don't like the peace symbals so I used paint net and erased it off the yo-yo. I just received three new dies from All That Scraps and had to have a play with them. I had watched a video that sweet Pam Sparks had done on the fence and of course I was sure I could rember just how she did it and make mine look as good as hers! LOL...what Pam make look easy was not nearly as easy for me. Can you imagine that? Mostly, I had and issue with the paper I chose and the pressure I used with my bone folder. But once I placed it on my card I loved it and thought it looked as if we are seeing the image in a garden. I love, love, the C.C. Designs Flower Boarder Die! Don't you just love the way the flowers peek out of the fence? I added some dew drops to the centers of the flowers. Just to add to the look I gave my new C.C Designs Grass Boarder Die a try. I love how the scale is small and works well with the fence and stamps. As  you can see I spent lots of time playing with this card. The time spent was well worth it because I love the outcome. I hope your week-end is shaping up to be a great one.

I might have gone over the top on this one. I started off with an embossing folder. After that I started using my die cuts and punch and this is the result. LOL! Can you have to many lace and pearls? Just a fun card for me to make. I will have to look and see if it fits any challenges...it won't be a CAS!

Musical Notes!

I decided to take a few? minutes and play a bit. I wanted to just colour and create without having to make something specific. Since I love this free Krista Smith image I played with it a bit on my paint program and removed the pink ribbon on her shirt. I wanted to make a card for our praise team leader and thought this was the perfect image for her. My DP is from three different packs and I have long lost the covers, so I can't tell you where they are from. The sentiments is from Bizy Becs and I love this sheet of sentiments as there is something for every card. I like having her hand hang outside the frame. A little paper lace and some pretty roses finished off my card.

I think I might have gone over the edge with the colors on this one! I thought I would play around a bit with an unusual combination....(want to know a secret?....I actually like these colors together!) I also would like to look this good when I get up in the morning. "Thinking of You"

I have been having some major computer problems! For those people that I e-mail on a regular basis, I can receive e-mail, but cannot reply or send e-mail. My poor husband (IT Man) has been pulling his hair out trying to fix the problem. I am crippling along trying to get things posted, but it has been a bit of a problem. Anyway, I hope you will all bear with me while we try to get this problem fixed. I wanted to enter this card in the latest Saturated Canary challenge. I am just getting it posted before the deadline! Now, I must admit I would probably be whacking that cute little mouse on the head and screaming at the top of my lungs, but this lass looks quite serene! LOL! It was a fun color anyway! I have been having a few 'computer' glitches today. This is my first chance to post on my blog. I thought I would share this little 'Tilda' card with you. I had such fun putting this card together. I will tell you it took me hours to pick out the paper and put it together. I wish I had a better eye for what works together and what doesn't . I had to make a sympathy card today for a friend at chuch who just lost her dad. I used an old standby stamp from SU. Just a simple card to let someone know I care.

You may have guessed by now that boy cards are hard for me. I can't find the right embellishments that are appropriate for a guy and my cards always look plain. I really felt I stretched it here with with red paper which has flowers but since my image has flowers I thought I might squeak by with it. (I am sure my grandson will let me know if 'he' thinks it is too girly! LOL! I do love these new stamps for my little guys and I hope both of the boys will enjoy them also.

"You Needed Me"

This nurse is so serious! She is a cute little C.C. stamp that you can find at All That Scraps. I have had her colored up for a bit and was looking for the perfect paper to use with her. After a bit of digging through the scrap box I found some (gulp) Christmas paper scraps that I liked and they worked! I was a bit frustrated after I added liquid pearls to her earrings,  I flopped it over on its face and smashed them down. GRRRR! I tried to repair them but I am afraid they are what they are! My brads were silver, but I used my Copics to color them black...I do like that little trick! I added some glamour dust to her wings for a bit of sparkle. I used my crop-a-dial to add texture to my card. Hope your week is going well!

I am experimenting with cards for my grandson Logan's birthday. He is our baby and will turn five the first of May. My grandson's are growing up so fast and I miss spending time with them. I want to make a card that is special for him. I knew when I saw this Edwin stamp that I would have to use it. Logan is always pretending he is driving a race car, or a train, or flying an airplane. I wanted to make the card bright and cheery, but I also wanted it to look like a 'guy' card. I distressed the edges to make it a bit more masculine and added a cute little airplane button. The DP is some I had when I first bought my Sizzix cutter so it is almost 'vintage'! LOL! I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles on my new camera. Hope you like this card. Dandelion Girl

Do you remember blowing on dandelions and watching the little fluffy seeds fly off in the air. It is such a simple joy and a great reminder of the beauty in the world God has freely given us. You might have guessed that this particular Whimsy stamp, called "Dandelion Girl" is one of my favorites! Since I felt this card was reflecting nature I decided to use my new Mushroom Border Die. I am in love with this die and you can create so much deminsion with it. I must admit that I usually grab my Leafy Branch die and Phlox Flowers as my go to and make my card pretty dies, but I know I will be grabbing the Mushroom Border for many cards. A few lacy butterflys with some lovely pearls. (BTY they came off a store bought card I received at Christmas!)   I have (oh I am a creature of habit) used my beloved Copics to color my image. You can find all of these products at All That Scraps....an so much more....there are some fabulous new products for March. Have fun and enjoy!
A quick update on my son Jeff. He met with the surgeon who said he would not need sugery (a praise) but he could not bend, lift or sit for prolonged periods for six weeks. Jeff is a Project Manager for a construction company. So, this will not be easy for him. His sweet wife works part time to carry insurance for the family. So, Jeff takes care of the little boys when she works evenings and week-ends. We had planned to go and help them but they are tough (my grandson's term for anyone who lives in Wyoming!) and have decided to weather this storm on their own. Please keep them in your prayers.

We recently had a 50's theme dinner theater at my church. One of my dear friends brought a pair of skates like these as a decoration on our set. I had several of the young people ask me what they were. When I told them and explained how they worked they reaction was the same each time...you're kidding! LOL! I have many childhood memories of hollering at a neighbor and asking if you wanted to play. This fun image from Mo Manning could have been me right down to the scabbed knee! Harvest Time and You Can Win Also!

A while back Krista Smith asked her followers (Yes! I follow!) to send her ideas for new stamps. If she chose your idea you would get the stamp for free. I am happy to tell you that little ole me won! This is my fabulous stamp! Isn't she just the cutest! I grew up in Emmett, Idaho. Our valley was (now it is houses) lined with orchards of all kinds. Apples, cherries, peaches, prunes, plums and pears to name a few. My mom started taking me and my brothers out to the orchards to work at an early age. As I grew older there was a wonderful man named Ed Harpt that would hire me the day after school let out, until the day before school started to work in his orchards. I thinned apples and peaches, picked all of the above mentioned fruit. It was hard work but it was a great way to earn money for school clothes and books, plus you went back to school with a great tan. LOL! I told Krista that I would like a stamp of this time in my life. This is the lovely stamp she sent me. I can tell you that I NEVER looked this good working in the orchards, but I love this stamp. I do love the Krista Smith images. This is a fun little image is called "California Girl". She is perfect for a summer card or for those who are dreaming of warm weather. I used some odds and ends to make this card. Scraps from my never ending scrap box, a bit of seam binding, some left over flowers and a heart charm. Just a fun little card and a little time of play in my craft room.

I do treasurer each of my friends that I have met through blogging. I am sorry that I have been so busy lately that I haven't been able to communicate with each of you. I am feeling the need for spring colors today. It has been raining all week with wind and dark skies. So I am pulling out the spring colors. I have been busy all week working on a dinner theater at our church. Saturday night is our big performance and then I should be free to craft once again! LOL! This is a free digi image and I love to use her on cards for the little girls at church. As always I colored the image with my Copics. I found these cute little buttons at Oriental Trader....great price on them also! This is just a fun card to let you know I am still alive and kicking....just a bit busy.
