Watermelon Time!!

It took me two days to do this card. It is hard to color and put a card together with a broken shoulder. I loved this new Whimsy stamp and when I saw it I knew it was the perfect stamp for my sweet, dear, friend, Wendy Little. She came all the way from TaComa, Washington to help me when I broke my shoulder. She is and always will be that kind of a friend. I love her and her husband Mark like family and I wanted to make a card that would be special to them. I die cut the image leaving a bit of it hanging out of the die. (I just love that look.) I am still struggling with my blending as I can only color for a few minutes at a time and even though you can 'reactivate' Copics it is not the same as blending it all at once. I added a pull out tag using a Tattered Lace die and added some cute watermelon buttons for an accent. The inside is a Marianne Die cut.
I am entering this card at the following challenges.

My Song: Humble and Kind (Tim McGraw)
You know there's a lot that goes by the front door
Don't forget the keys under the mat
Childhood stars shine, always stay humble and kind
Go to church 'cause your momma says to
Visit grandpa every chance that you can
It won't be a waste of time
Always stay humble and kind
Hold the door say please say thank you
Don't steal, don't cheat, and don't lie
I know you got moutains to climb but
Always stay humble and kind
When the dreams you're dreamin' come to you
When the work you put in is realized
Let yourself feel the pride but
Always stay humble and kind

Happy Birthday!

I feel like a newbie! This is my first card since I fell five weeks ago and shattered my right shoulder. It took me about a week to color my cute stamp from The Paper Shelter called Fun and Sun.  I am only able to color for about 10 minutes at a time before my shoulder is hurting and I have to stop. It is also a challenge to then take pictures of my card and posting it to the blog. This injury has made me aware of all the things I have just taken for granted. Like using my right arm! I have 35 degrees of motion at the moment and continue with my physical therapy and try to regain the rest of my motion. So, I am apologizing for my coloring and my pictures. I hope to improve in the next few months.
But, having said that, I hope you will join us in our fun challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE BLOG. Our Challenge is Happy Birthday. We can all use birthday cards in our stash and you just might win a great prize. Win! Win!
I am entering my card at the following challenges:

My Song: Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen (Neil Sedaka)
Tra la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen
Tra la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen
Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen
Happy birthday, sweet sixteen

How Does Your Garden Grow?

If you haven't checked the store at The Paper Shelter lately you have missed out on some really wonderful new digi stamps. I love this cute guy as he tends his roses! This particular stamp is called "Venus Flytrap". Since breaking my shoulder I have found tending my garden a chore I can not work at like I would want. I still have such limited arm movement and can not lift that it makes doing most gardening next to impossible. I am still struggling with my coloring as I can only color for a short time (10-15) minutes. This causes me problems blending like I want. I will be glad when my shoulder heals but the Dr. said 8-12 months. It seems like such a long time.  Meanwhile, I will struggle along just doing what I can with my cards.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: It'll Come Back (Red Sovine)
On our little girls third birthday,
She got a sandbox, In the backyard to play.
Sand was everywhere as she play and she laughed.
I busted her, For it killed all the grass.
It'll come back, It'll come back
Daddy don't be mad, God and the rain will bring it back.
When our little girl, Just turned ten,
She got a bike to ride with all her friends.
She skinned both her knees, as she played and she laughed.
I busted her. For it killed all the grass.
It'll come back, It'll come back
Daddy don't be mad, God and the rain will bring it back.
When our little girl, Turned seventeen.
We built her a pool, In the backyard that spring.
All her friends came and they swam and they splashed.
I busted her, For it killed all the grass.
It'll come back, It'll come back
Daddy don't be mad, God and the rain will bring it back.
My wife and I sit on the porch alone.
As I look out across at my beautiful lawn
The house is quiet, There's no children at play.
And I say to my wife.
"Honey If you'll listen real close, You can still hear her say..."
It'll come back (It'll come back). It'll come back (It'll come back)
Daddy don't be mad, God and the rain will bring it back.

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: I Am Woman (Helen Reddy)
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
You can bend but never break me
'Cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'Cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul
