Wishing You Happines*

A look at the inside.
A sentiment tag.
A closer look at the image!
One more look!
I hope you are ready for another month to draw to a close. It seems like this year is coming to a quick end  and I do not know where the time has gone! Maybe we can be like this cute image from The Paper Shelter and start our day off with a quick cup of coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or O.J. and a chat with friends on line.
The image is called "Coffee Break 2" and she is a fun, fun, fun, color. I wish you could feel the background paper on this card. It feels like silk and is so pretty. I added some ruffled lace and some homemade flowers with rhinestone centers to add bling and to finish off this fun card. I must admit that red is always a favorite color for me to use on a card. I really have to fight myself to use other colors! LOL!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Dolly Pardon
Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
And yawnin', stretchin', try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin'
Out on the streets, the traffic starts jumpin'
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5
Workin' 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It's enough to drive you crazy if you let it

A Card of Many Folds

The left inside of my card.
The right inside of my card.
Top of fold on right inside of card
A front side view of my card
A closer look at my tag
Top of card,  inside of fold
 The front of my card!
I am sorry there are so many pictures of this card, but I really did not know how to show you all the folds and what each side contained. And for some reason blogger went crazy loading the pictures and the first picture loaded at the bottom and then some staggered. So I hope you can make sense of what my card really looks like. Our challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER is A Card of Many Folds. Now, I will be the first to admit I hate making gimmicky cards. I love seeing them but it is not my favorite thing to do. So, I procrastinated about what I was going to do. I stalked  checked out my favorite bloggers and still could not come up with something I wanted to try. Finally I colored my image and I had so much fun coloring my image (yes 2 of them)  "Moon Spell" that I soon got in the spirit and made this card. As you can see it does contain many folds! I hope you will join us for this fun challenge. Have a great week!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Blue Moon
Blue moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue moon
You knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for
And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked to the moon it turned to gold

One more 'Summer" Card!

Although fall is knocking at the door, I had to color this lovely image from THE PAPER SHELTER. You can find "That's Something You Don't See Every Day" here! It was such a fun image that I wanted to share it with you. I colored her in Copics. I added liquid glass to the sunglasses and the Popsicle. A  bit of Stickles placed in dots around the image helped to add  a bit of sparkle and interest to my card. A little lace and a pink shell button popped the DP (all scraps from the never ending scrap basket). The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley.

A closer look at the lovely image.

Have Yourself A Happy .....

I hope everyone is having a great week-end and enjoying time relaxing. Our two older grandsons are playing flag football and Saturdays are spent watching them play. So much fun for us. I had this image colored for such a long time and had never used her yet. So, I had an emergency come up and needed a quick birthday card. This was the result. Since September is quickly coming to an end and fall and winter cards are in the making I thought it best to get this posted. Hope you enjoy this quick little card.  Have a blessed week-end!

I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song:  Greater (Mercy Me)
Bring your tired
Bring your shame
Bring your guilt
Bring your pain
Don’t you know that’s not you’re name
You will always be much more to me
Every day I wrestle with the voices
That keep telling me I’m not right
But that’s alright
‘Cause I hear a voice and He calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

Acorns, Leafs, And A "Wee Fairy"

Have you ever made a card where you lose yourself in just creating? This card was one of those for me. I loved this new "Wee" image and couldn't wait to color it up. You can find this stamp and many more at 7 Kids College Fund (where I was a winner in their last challenge)! (That is not an earthquake it me doing the happy dance!) I have had this bright fall paper for several years and I have no idea where it came from. It seemed the perfect paper for this card. I used a die (yes, I don't know who this one is either) for the swirl and leaves. I die cut the leaves out of white card stock and used my Copics to color them to match the leaves in the image. I think the leaves are supposed to be holly leaves but they worked for this! I popped them on the top of the original die cut. A C.C. acorn die cut was used for the cute little acorns. Again I used white card stock and colored the acorns with Copics. I popped them on with a foam dimensional and added Stickles to the swirl of the die. Because the background paper is so busy I decided this was all the embellishments the card needed. I hope you are ready for fall, it is definitely in the air here.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: The Mommas and the Poppas
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I've been for a walk on a winter's day.
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A.;
California dreamin' on such a winter's day.
Stopped in to a church I passed along the way.
Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray.
You know the preacher liked the cold;
He knows I'm gonna stay.
California dreamin' on such a winter's day.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I've been for a walk on a winter's day.
If I didn't tell her I could leave today;
California dreamin' on such a winter's day.

(In our valley in Idaho our sky has been filled with smoke from the California fires. not exactly dreamin' of California! LOL!)

Tic, Tac, Toe.....Get Three In a Row!

I always love playing Tic, Tac, Toe....and at ABC CHALLENGE we are doing just that.  The above grid is for you to follow when you play along with our challenge! I chose flowers, lace and dies/punches for my card. Our lovely sponsor is StampArt by Kathryne and Wild Orchid Crafts  I love this image by Kathryne and of course you can't beat WOC for lovely flowers. I had such fun playing with this image and trying some different colors for winter. I used liquid pearls on the die cut to enhance them. A little faux stitching, glitter, lace, pearls and flowers completed my card. I hope you will join us in our fun.

My Song: Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns

Unending love, amazing grace

Amanda, You Made Me Smile

Today many of us in the Paper Crafting Community are mourning the loss of a very talented lady, Amanda Reed. You can click here to go to Amanda's blog. I will truly miss seeing her lovely work which always inspired me to do better and challenge myself to try new things. It was Amanda who encouraged me to take the Kit and Clowder Hair and Skin coloring class. (I have only had one lesson but can't wait to take the rest.) Amanda blossomed the last few years and her work was some of the best you could find. She was excited about winning a spot on Heartfelt DT and I think she would have made it as her talent was so fresh and fun. I will cherish all the homemade cards she sent  me and the funny, quirky, silly e-mails we shared back and fourth with one another. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her husband Joe, (she adored you) her mom, her sister, and all of her extended family. Her life was much too short and a shinning star went dark with her leaving.
This card is dedicated to Amanda. She would have seen the humor as I sent her a doll for her craft room one Christmas. She told me that it WAS NOT what she had expected and that she really wasn't into dolls, but she did have it sat on a shelf in a place of honor in her craft room. LOL! That was our Amanda! I thought the sentiment was perfect as Amanda always made me smile. I hope each of you will take time today to show a little kindness to your family and friends. Tomorrow is not promised and we need to cherish today.
I am entering this card at the following challenges (for you Amanda!)

My Song: Who Am I
When I think of how He came so far from glory
Came to dwell among the lowly such as I
To suffer shame and such disgrace
On Mount Calvary take my place
Then I ask myself this question
Who am I?
Who am I that The King would bleed and die for
Who am I that He would pray not my will, Thy Lord
The answer I may never know
Why He ever loved me so
But to that old rugged cross He'd go
For who am I?
When I'm reminded of His words
I'll leave Him never
If you'll be true I'll give to you life forever
Oh I wonder what I could have done
To deserve God's only Son
To fight my battles until they're won
For who am I?
Who am I that The King would bleed and die for
Who am I that He would pray not my will, Thy Lord
The answer I may never know
Why He ever loved me so
But to that old rugged cross He'd go
For who am I?
But to an old rugged cross He'd go for, who am I?

Rest In Peace Amanda. Thank you for being my friend!

Embossing of Any Kind

A closer look at the lovely image!
 Can you see the embossing?

I instantly fell in love with this lovely image from THE PAPER SHELTER, called "Mad About Shoes".
If you have never used any of THE PAPER SHELTER images you have missed a treat. If you have used any of the images you know to expect clean, sharp lines, background papers, colored image and black and white image all for a small price. There are such a variety of images that something will appeal to your particular taste. So hop on over and check out all that is offered, then come back and play with us in this challenge. Our challenge this time is "Embossing" of any kind. How easy is that? I choose dry embossing and love how it adds such wonderful texture. I trimmed a Memory Box die and added pearls and Stickles to the stars to add the illusion of a 'sale' banner. I cut out my individual letters with a    die and glued them on, adding Stickles around each letter. (Think of those glitzy neon signs). I colored my fun image with Copics and added a bit of Spica pen to some of the shoes. I hope you enjoyed my card and be sure and jump over to see the lovely inspiration my team mates have created. You will be amazed!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: This Girl
There's a girl livin' in this town
She's got her head up in the sky
But her feet are on the ground
There's a girl livin on my street
She knows outside her little world
Somehow ends are gonna meet
And when the road gets kinda rough
She keeps one thing in mind
The longest journey always starts with one step at a time

Happy Anniversary Steve!

I had to wish my husband a Happy Anniversary today. We have been married 42 years today! I would like to say that every day has been perfect, but we all know that life is not like that and we have had our share of ups and downs. The one thing I have learned in 42 years,  is my marriage is a blessing and it is worth the work. I thank God for the husband He gave me, the family He has blessed me with, and the blessings yet to come. So happy anniversary Steve I hope you know how much I love you.
I thought this Sara Kay image was perfect for an anniversary card.  It reminded me of many years ago when we were young!
My Song: Trisha Yearwood
Katie's sittin' on the old front porch
Watchin' the chickens peck the ground
There ain't a whole lot goin' on tonight
In this one-horse town
Over yonder comin' up the road
In a beat-up Chevy truck
Her boyfriend Tommy, he's layin' on the horn
Splashin' through the mud and the muck
Her daddy says he ain't worth a lick
When it comes to brains, he got the short end of the stick
But Katie's young and man, she just don't care
She'd follow Tommy anywhere
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
She's in love with the boy
And even if they have to run away
She's gonna marry that boy someday

I don't know what happened on this post but for some reason my beautiful written prose about my card and the challenge and 'poof' it did not show up when my card posted! By now you should know it is time for a challenge at ABC CHALLENGE! Our letter is "S" and we want to see Shabby Chic! Now in the post that didn't show up I whined talked about my struggle trying to do Shabby Chic. I noticed my team mates had no problem but I was less than happy about my attempt! Our lovely sponsor is Live and Love Crafts and there are so many wonderful items found in this shop! I hope you will take time to check them out. So, I will be eagerly looking forward to seeing your Shabby Chic entries and just maybe you can teach me a trick or two!
