Have A Lovely Day

It is no secret that I love Wee Stamps. I think the images are adorable and always have a sweetness about them that I can use for so many occasions. I decided to use this card for a winter birthday. The recipient of this card loves kitties so she will love this image also. I added some cute heart rhinestones that I colored with Copics to match my papers. I added some round rhinestones to my pretty little flowers and also colored them. I felt it really pulled the card together. My sentiment is from Whimsy stamps. I hope you have a wonderful day and you take time to make someone happy today.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: Ebony Eyes (Everly Brothers)
On a weekend pass I wouldn't have had time
To get home and marry that baby of mine
So I went to the chaplain and he authorized
Me to send for my ebony eyes
My ebony eyes was coming to me
From out of the skies on Flight 1203
In an hour or two I would whisper "I do"
To my beautiful ebony eyes

All Wrapped Up!

Are you like me and thinking that this snow business is "All Wrapped Up" and it is time for spring? I am so read for a little warmer weather! I am afraid out here in Idaho I am several months too early! This lovely image from The Paper Shelter is called  Frost Girl and she can be found here!
She was a fun color and I enjoyed coloring her hair a bit different! I hope you will join us at THE PAPER SHELTER  for another fun challenge. Show us your "All Wrapped Up"! In Idaho you had better be all wrapped up because we have freezing rain and it is cold and slick!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
My Song: (For my new grandson Lincoln)
You are so beautiful to me
You are so beautiful to me
Can't you see
Your everything I hoped for
Your everything I need
You are so beautiful to me
Such joy and happiness you bring
Such joy and happiness you bring
Like a dream
A guiding light that shines in the night
Heavens gift to me
You are so beautiful to me

Our New Grandson

At 3:42 P.M. our newest  Grandson Lincoln Isaiah Chapman made his appearance. He was 8 lbs. 5 oz. and 20 inches long! He is such a sweet little guy and it was a joy to cuddle him. His two brothers think he is the best and love being his big brother. We have been blessed beyond measure with our newest addition. I had to share our joy.

No Pink At Our House!

A closer look at the image!

 A pretty feather flower!
 A Polk A Dot Tag
 A peek at the inside!
In case you are wondering about the title, today my DIL is being induced for the birth of our third grandson. While having a little girl would be wonderful we have enjoyed our two grandsons so much and they have brought so much love that another grandson is a blessing beyond compare. So this pink card will have to go to another. The lovely paper was from my dear friend Elaine. I love the pad she sent me and I am quickly burning through it making cards. Every sheet is just lovely. My pretty feather flower  was a gift from my sweet friend Amanda from a year ago. I have been saving it for the perfect card. (Note* I said saving not hording!) The pink ribbon is from a spool that I inherited from my mom's craft supplies. She passed away 12 years ago and I am still using things she had. I also added a cute little pin that came with the feather flower. I thought I would add some hand drawn polk a dots to the sentiment to change it up a bit.  Just a fun little card in pink!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Joe Cocker
You are so beautiful
To me
You are so beautiful
To me
Can't you see
You're everything I hoped for
You're everything I need
You are so beautiful
To me

Someone needs...

I always have to smile when I see this image. I think we have all experienced those days where nothing seems to go right and we like this image just want to cry! LOL! I get through these days telling myself that tomorrow will be a brighter day. This cute image is from SC and she is dealing with drooping hair ribbons, a lost ice cream cone  and a tear or two. I colored this image with Copics and added some liquid glass to the ice cream and the little heart on her chest. I struggled with this hair do trying to show highlights. I think hair will always be my nemesis. LOL.!  I used two sentiments on the inside of my card and framed them with a lovely die cut from my sweet friend Elaine. Isn't it pretty? The ticket sentiment on the front I colored with Copics. The cute little scallop boarder on the top is actually the tear off tab at the top of the paper. I thought it worked perfect for an accent on this card. My flowers are from WOC and the cute little acrylic butterfly is from our local King's store!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Lady Antebellum
Picture perfect memories

Scattered all around the floor
Reaching for the phone 'cause
I can't fight it anymore

And I wonder if I

Ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one

I'm all alone
And I need you now
Said I wouldn't call
But I've lost all control
And I need you now

Time To Celebrate

Another 'guy' birthday card. The stamp I used on this card is one of the first stamps I bought years ago. I love anything to do with the ocean and I thought this stamp would work nice with the seascapes stamps I already had. It is still a favorite 'go to' stamp for me. I colored this image with  colored pencils. The circle sentiment had flowers in the center so I just cut them out. I thought it made the sentiment look like a life saver tube. (Is that the correct name for them?) a little hemp and some copper eyelets and my card was finished.
I hope your month is shaping up to a wonderful start  to 2014.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: My Anchor Holds
  1. Though the angry surges roll
    On my tempest-driven soul,
I am peaceful, for I know,
Wildly though the winds may blow,
I’ve an anchor safe and sure,
    That can evermore endure.
    • Blow your wildest, then, O gale,
      On my bark so small and frail;
By His grace I shall not fail,
For my anchor holds, my anchor holds.
  2. And it holds, my anchor holds:

What if Christmas Doesn't Come From A Store?

I have always loved that line from "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". I don't know why but this card made me think of it. It might be the Charlie Brown tree (which I had this year) or the sweet look on this cute image from Sassy Cheryl. But, it did come to mind for this post. I used a lovely die cut from my sweet friend Elaine! Thanks Elaine, I love it. I also used a new icicle die that Santa left in my stocking. The image is colored with Copicss and I added some Stickles and Liquid Pearls to finish off my card. Just a fun little Christmas card for my stash.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Charlie Brown Christmas
Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year

Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

"I've Got to Crow"

We have several neighbors who are raising chickens. I don't know why it strikes me so funny to hear clucking and even a few crows in our neighborhood. Anyway, I thought this would make a perfect card for one of the neighbors birthday. She loves her chickens and I hope she will love this card. The background paper is from a Kraft Pad and it has some pretty foil flowers that looked perfect with the image from SC that I colored. The accent paper is from the same pad or you can flip the paper and just use the Kraft side.  I had this cute rooster button in my stash and I used my Copics to color him up a bit. I added some pretty rhinestone hearts and liquid pearls  for accents. I used a ticket sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and added some Stickles to the edge and Liquid Glass to the center for interest. A bit of liquid glass on the eggs and touches on the rooster and my card is finished. I hope you had a great Monday and you enjoyed my little card.
I am entering my card at the following challenges:
My Song: Peter Pan "I've Got To Crow
Not me,
It's just that I am what I am
And I'm me!
When I look at myself
And I see in myself
All the wonderful things that I see
If I'm pleased with myself
I have ev'ry good reason to be.

I've gotta crow!
I'm just the cleverest fellow
'Twas ever my fortune to know;
I taught a trick to my shadow
To stick to the tip of my toe
I've gotta crow!

An Old Fashioned Christmas Card

Good-morning everyone. I am sharing a Christmas card that I didn't get sent out this year...oh, well, I am ahead for next year! We are still enjoying all the after effects of the flu. Both myself and the DH have been down with it. This is my fourth week of a horrid, nasty, racking cough. It is horrid. I just can't seem to muster up much energy. I hope this nasty bug has passed you and your family by.  My card is stamped with an older Christmas Tilda stamp that I have had for a couple of years. I stumbled on to a bottle of glitter stars that I had bought years ago at our local $ store. I dotted some glue around and scattered it on.It really is quiet pretty IRL! I also added some puffy paint to the trim on her dress.  I added some pretty flowers from WOC and some tiny jingle bells that I think are so cute! A pretty shimmery ribbon and bow finish off this Christmas Card.  I hope your week is filled with blessings!
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song:The Keeper of The Stars
It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight
I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

"D" is for Dazzel!

It is great to start the year off with "Dazzling images from our lovely sponsor "Pink Gem Designs"' our fun challenge at ABC Challenge this time is the letter "D" for Dazzel.  I started the search for an image from "Pink Gem Designs".  I had such a hard time picking the image I wanted to use. I finally settled on this one and then instantly wrote down a few more to purchase. Isn't this one just as cute as a button?  I made this card for one of the teens at church. I am sure she will love this image. I added some beautiful sheer flowers with rhinestones in the center and drops of Stickles around the image. Spica pen on the stars and liquid glass on the eyes finished off my "Dazzle' card. So hop on over to the ABC CHALLENGE to play along and enjoy the fun. Be sure and checkout my teammates lovely works they are dazzling!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My Song: The Beatles
Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on?
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out
Think of what you're saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that it's alright
Think of what I'm saying
We can work it out and get it straight, or say good night
We can work it out
We can work it out
Life is very short, and there's no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So I will ask you once again

Winter Blues

I know I am running a bit late or early? with this Christmas Card. But, I love coloring this charming image and just had to make one more card with it. I am also using it for the latest challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER. Our challenge this week is "Winter Blues"! We want to see your cards with the primary color of blue! Perfect for those chilly winter days. Pop on over to the Paper Shelter and grab one of their fabulous images and play along.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:

My Song: Alan Jackson
I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler
About a workin' all summer just to try to earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby, and try to get a date
My boss says, "No dice son, you gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

Well my mom and pop told me, "Son you gotta make some money,
If you want to use the car to go ridin' next Sunday"
Well I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick
"Well you can't use the car 'cause you didn't work a lick"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

I'm gonna take two weeks, gonna have a fine vacation
I'm gonna take my problem to the United Nations
Well I called my congressman and he said quote:
"I'd like to help you son but you're too young to vote"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

Birthday Card For a Guy

January and February seem to be loaded with "guy" birthdays. This is a lovely stamp from ODB I really enjoy using it and made this quick and easy card for a friend. I also need to make a card for my younger brother who will be celebrating his birthday in a few more days. I think he will like a card from this stamp set and maybe it will brighten his day. He has been suffering from some health problems. Meanwhile I will struggle through the guy cards. Hope your week is going well and you will take time to bless someone today!

Another Winter Card!

I seemed to have enough time to make Christmas cards this year, but not enough time to mail them! What is up with that? I am glad that I have a few cards made ahead for posting as I have been so sick that  crafting has not been a consideration. (Just walking to the bathroom has been a challenge! Today is the first day after ten that I feel like I might just live. This flu has been deadly and the worst affected are the 'elderly' and the young. (OK! I am in the 'elderly' category!) Anyway, this is one of newer Magnolia stamps I received over Christmas. I think this little Edwin is really cute. I added some holly and pearls and kept the layout simple. I hope you like this simple card and you are staying healthy.
I am entering this card at the following challenges:
My Song: Let It Begin With Me
Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Is Your Heart a Busy Inn?

I made Christmas cards for our adult children for their gift cards. I used this cute image from Saturated Canary for my DIL card. I don't know why but it just makes me think of the sentiment...'Let not your hearts be  busy inns that have no room for him.' It was a quick and easy card for me...and this would be my version of CAS! I am afraid I have several unfinished Christmas cards sitting on my desk. Some I am converting to winter birthday cards and the rest will be an early start on next years Christmas card stash! What about you are you ahead or behind?
I am going to look for a challenge to enter this in.
My Song:
The city's decorated up for Christmas
All the stores are open late tonight
People hurry through the frozen streets
I take a walk...
Every child has a thousand wishes
Every window has a thousand lights
Every soul has a need for peace
I take a walk...
There's a star that still outshines the night
You can find it if you close your eyes
And see the light
Take a walk through Bethlehem
Come and kneel before the lamb
Good news for every man
Walk through Bethlehem

"C" is for Colorful!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and sane celebration! At ABC Challenge we are starting the year off with the letter "C" a colorful challenge. Our lovely sponsor is Sheri Baldy stamps. With all the charming details on this image you can make it very colorful. I chose to go with some spring/summer colors. Our weather has been so "icky" that I am ready for sunshine. Plus, we have had the flu since Christmas and this cough and felling not up to par is getting old. This is not how I wanted to start the year off. I hope you will join us for this fun challenge and you will want to check out all the colorful entries my talented team mates have made. They will inspire you to color, color, color! Who knows you may start the year off with a win and a fabulous prize!
I am entering this card at the following challenges::
My Song:  (And It's An Oldie!)
Mommy told me something
a little kid should know.
It's all about the devil
and I've learned to hate him so.
She said he causes trouble
when you let him in the room.
He will never ever leave you
if your heart is filled with gloom.
So let the sun shine in
face it with a grin.
Smilers never lose
and frowners never win.
So le the sun shine in
face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in.
